We were only a two top and agreed to be sat anywhere ( porch, inside or bar. We didn't care) Huge beer menu. Gluten free beer on the menus. Wine Menu small but good enough. Pizza. The best part ever. I've always had takeout pizza from this place but I finally dined in with a party of 7 this last Saturday around 11:30 am and it was great. We didn't wait too long for our table and our server was quick to come to the table to get drink orders even tho our whole party wasn't seated yet. They soon were and she was so patient and got appetizers going right after. The mulligatawny soup ( misspelled?) is delicious and a cup is big enough. The half house salad with chicken was huge and I took it home because I scarfed down the delicious nachos! Not impressed with the chicken wings as I found them very small and not worth the effort plus I didn't like the glaze on it but the blue cheese that accompanied it was to die for. I usually don't like blue cheese as I'm a ranch girl but man I would convert for this stuff! Don't get me wrong the ranch is good but not as good as the blue cheese. The carne asada pizza is delicious and a little spicy but tolerable. My favorite is the chicken Tikka masala pizza. Really flavorful. The pizzas are thin crust and not filling. Good cold or hot but since I was eating in I prefer it hot out of the oven then takeout. But again everything is better fresh hot out of the oven then takeout. But takeout here is good too. WOW I am always completely blown away. The aesthetic is fantastic for one; I love a trendy spot that isn't going to sear my eyes with fluorescent lights. Everyone is always polite, love the service. And then the FOOD. How does a pizza place have the best soup I've ever had in my life? I've had 3 different soups there and they all blew me away. The pizza is of course also amazing - I've had The Hulk, California Sunrise, Iron Horse, and Tikka Masala ---- all are phenomenal. The only thing that I haven't liked is the buffalo sandwich. that is actually absolutely awful and they should get rid of it. This second Slackwater (OG in Ogden) is almost always bumpin'. That makes the outdoor areas more fun (and needed). Great service and solid food to go with fun beers. Knowledgeable servers can help with beer selections, but I tend to stick with Saisons and IPAs. A lot of great regional and national selections, really solid pizza, and an original wing recipe that remains unaffected by the chicken shortage. Might be the best wings in the SLC areas. We've visited a few times now. Have been with different groups and just the two of us. Good and not so good each time! The Garlic Breath appetizer is a sure winner if you love garlic! We get that every time! The Cobb salad has been a hit each time I've gotten it and my love and I share that with enough and to spare - that's how large it is! The pizza...um, well, it's hit and miss. We realize we're a little more finicky than most and probably a bit too particular in what we consider "excellent." Tonight with friends who'd not been here before, they were "meh" with the pizza. One came out entirely burnt all around the crust. I mean charred! The person sitting behind one of our friends, her pizza also came out worse looking than our friends did. She wouldn't even let the waiter set it down! He took hers away, brought it back and told her to "snack on it" until they made her a fresh one. The people behind us pizza was also very burned. Our sweet friends partner wouldn't eat it but also wouldn't send it back. He didn't want to make a fuss. So we called for the waiter, who called for the manager (Tony) who was unbelievably accommodating and not only took it off their bill but made a fresh one "on the house" for him. He took it to go! (We peeked at it and it looked superb!) Now THAT is wonderful 5 Star service! Our Sparta pizza we ordered double extra mushrooms and onions with extra Alfredo sauce as the base. NOT ONE MUSHROOM ON OUR PIZZA!!! Not one! But they hit the pedal in the feta cheese distributor as you almost couldn't decipher what was underneath the feta - it was that heavy!! Last time - it was perfect. This time. A disaster. Dry. The pizza wasn't burnt but the veggies on it were. We did get a few extra onions but we're discovering these guys don't understand the meaning of "DOUBLE EXTRA!' We didn't send it back and we didn't mention it. Our waiter "Denis" (that's how he spells it) we've had the pleasure of having twice in a week (!) has been exceptional both times! We liked him more than we liked our food! Truly a wonderful waiter and just a super friendly guy! Ask for him! He's the best! All in all...I give the appetizer a 5 star, the Cobb a 5 star, but the pizza which is the MAIN EVENT, was a huge disappointment - hence the 3 star rating! (I wish I could rate the service separately and I'd give them a 5 star for that alone!) read more

The Ogden River Club Sandwich was ordered by two of us because who can resist avocado spread with a roasted red pepper aioli.
