This place was POPPING on a Saturday night. We joined their Yelp waitlist around 5pm and it was an estimated wait of 55-85 minutes. We got there around 6:15, got checked in with the host, and were seated about 10 minutes later. I would highly recommend joining the waitlist, especially on a weekend night. We thought we were beating the crowd at 5pm, but we were totally wrong! The beer list here is HUGE! And they had two non alcoholic beers on the menu as well. Such a great selection of beers and ciders. We ordered the garlic bread and two pizzas. Each pizza is a personal size pizza, so I would recommend getting a couple to share for a party of 2. The garlic bread was good, but ours had some pieces that were a little bit burnt. It came with some freshly roasted garlic and a Gorgonzola/tomato spread. The pizzas were both great and had a ton of flavor - and the dough was delicious! This is a fun spot that's very popular, with a ton of seating and plenty of room for large parties. This place is always busy. They have an online waitlist you can join which really helps. The food is delicious. Everything I have ordered here, I've enjoyed. Some of the pizza options are unique but so good. I've never ordered something I haven't liked. It is pretty loud in the restaurant so it can be very hard to talk and hear people. One of the times I was here, they had a girl sing and play the guitar but it was so hard to hear her because it was noisy. She honestly just added to the noise. read more

A lot of places make good pizza but Slackwater makes truly great pizza. The make it delicious from the crust up. I'm not crazy about a lot of pizza crusts but I could eat the crust here all day every day. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I also loved the live music in the corner. Slackwater is a solid pizza joint with many unique pizza combinations. Any pizza can be made into a calzone with marinara sauce in the side. My absolute favorite pizza is "the Italian job" it's topped with feta cheese and Peppercinis! The black bean hummus is also delicious. It you can't go wrong with really anything on the menu. This place gets packed for dinner so make sure to join the online waitlist. Parking is plentiful and the restaurant itself fits lots of parties. Another 4.5 star review for me. We have been to Slackwater several times. Most recently we went after seeing a Sunday matinee play at the Eccles Theater downtown SLC. I joined the waitlist on our way, which I highly recommend. We had a party of 3 that included 2 adults and our teenage daughter - her first time. The vibe inside was as it always is - laid back and cool. From the decor to the employees - this restaurant screams - just be yourself. We got sodas and You'll Be Stuffed Sticks. The cheese stuffed breadsticks were delicious. The whole table enjoyed. My daughter ordered the Joe Pesci sandwich with a side house salad (with ranch) and very much enjoyed the sandwich. She thought the salad was ok because she isn't a fan of fancy greens. I tried a bite and thought it was really good. We both agreed that the ranch was awesome. My Chicken Bro Do was tasty and my husband's Cardiac Arrest was great. The pizza has a thin crust that is really enjoyable - texture and taste. The ingredients are plentiful and flavorful. They have some unique combos and I have tried at least 5 different ones between my own orders and trying my family's choices. They also have an extensive beer menu. I don't like beer but my husband has found a few good ones and a few he didn't care for. It is a fun experience to experiment and try new things. First time trying this spot and it is AMAZING!!!! Our server was on top of everything, and he was absolutely the best! The chicken wings were flavorful and juicy! We really enjoyed the cilantro lime dressing. We ordered 3 different pizzas, and they were all perfect! I especially enjoyed the Buffalo chicken. Thin crust and lots of toppings! The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead is I ordered extra mushrooms on Buffalo chicken and they charged me for 2 side orders of mushrooms but there were barely any on the pizza as you can see in the picture :( read more

We tried to go here a couple of weeks ago, and it was a 2 hour wait signing into the Yelp wait list one hour before. This time, we signed in 2 hours ahead and got a seating time 30 earlier than we anticipated. Be forewarned, they text you ~15 minutes before your seating time, and you have 10 minutes to respond to keep your reservation, or they set you back in line a little. Therefore, if you're driving, be sure to have someone checking for texts. When we got there, the host staff was rude. They don't smile or look up. They truly look like your being there is annoying them. Even the young man that sat is didn't respond to our greetings or thanks. It's not a great way to welcome people. The ambiance was great until it got dark out, and then it was crazy dark. And it was very loud. The place was clean, including bathrooms. The drink menu is overwhelmingly extensive. There are too many options, IMHO. That said, we were able to decide on a peach mango sangria (which, I kid you not tasted like lychee), and a Mother Earth Peaches and cream beer. Very nice, wheat ale with nice peaches and cream finish. Wings were crunchy, yummy but a little salty. Fantastic bleu cheese dressing! 1/2 salad is big enough to share; dressing is not enough to cover the salad, and they charge for extra. Tikka Masala pizza was for real! Chicken was quite dry, but it delivered on flavor. The bill came to $55. A little pricey for a shared app, 1/2 salad, and pizza. Yes, we got two drinks, but $30/person after tip seems a bit excessive. Maybe order out a unique pizza or two. read more

This one's been on my "places to try" list for awhile and I finally made it over. Well worth the wait, and I'm sure I'll be returning soon. I met a friend for lunch on a Friday at 11:30 and we were able to get seated right away. By the time we were done with our lunch, however, every table was full. So go early, or join the waitlist, if you don't want to wait. Service was friendly and attentive. The nice lady that took care of us answered our questions and made suggestions, which I appreciated since it was my first time there. I ordered the Mulligatawny soup with a side of pita bread and it was phenomenal! The flavor was exquisite, the pairing with the bread was perfection-just right for a cold winter day. We came here in a Wednesday night and it was packed. (30+ minute wait) The feel is kind of a sporty high end brew pub. It could easily have been placed in park city in my mind. The night we were there they were handing out KUHL swag if you bought a Melvin beer. Super fun place to come visit. Our nachos were good but over broiled and burnt. Okay so... I put us on the Yelp-hosted waiting list for the first time ever. It worked pretty well, although they acted like I was speaking another language when I mentioned I had put the note in to be seated by a TV, so I'm not sure they saw that. Wow, this place is poppin! My friends and I tried going last week and were quoted an hour and a half wait, so this time we discovered you could get on the waitlist beforehand, and so we did it through Yelp! It was awesome to have live updates on where we were in line and having an estimated time for when we could get a table. Once we arrived shortly after the estimated time, it was about 20 minutes before we got a table. We were seated right in front of the platform where bands/artists play, so it was a little loud, but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. Our server was great! He was very attentive, making sure we had enough water and came around frequently enough for us to order drinks, appetizers, and food despite how busy it was. We ordered nachos to share, and I had the February special sangria, which almost tasted like strawberry lemonade. The nachos were delicious! All the toppings were fresh, and the chips weren't soggy from the toppings. For our entree, my friend and I shared a Grape & Gorg; it was delicious! So glad they put a slackwater down here in SLC. This is a pizza joint with a twist. They have a variety of pizzas that are normally different foods you would try. I've always gotten the sunrise pizza which was one of my favorites until I tried the gyro pizza! Those are my top two! I have also tried their tika masala pizza and that was great too. Staff here is always friendly and they always have great service. They have a good selection of drinks, I'm not a big drinker but their sangria that they have is AMAZING. So definitely get the pitcher because you'll want more! Overall I love this place. I come here often. The menu is unique and the dishes are delicious! We've had multiple servers and they all have been friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The restaurant has a rustic yet industrial atmosphere and can get pretty loud, with "house" performers singing live in the background it brings a really cool vibe. The waitlist is average between 15-30 minutes on weekends, but it's worth the wait...Definitely, go and try it out!
