GLUTEN FREE - CELIAC REVIEW Went here for a dinner with friends and had a good experience. However, the options are very limited if you have celiac disease. The pizzas are cooked in the same over with the gf pizzas just being in a separate area of the oven; so high chance of cross contamination. They do have a separate fryer for their tortilla chips and potato chips. The wings may or may not get fried in the same oil as the beignets (depends on "how busy they get"). Staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions and was knowledgeable about cross contamination. I had the spinach artichoke dip with no problems. read more

Great pizza and beer. They have some traditional pizza but also specialty. Take time and try.

Great place with amazing food. I would definitely recommend going here. The nachos are my fav! read more

I definitely recommend using Yelp's waitlist reminders if you'd like to eat here! This place gets SO busy. We used the waitlist reminders so we could eat at 6- the restaurant was packed but we were able to get in! The food here is always great. You really can't find a bad thing on the menu. However- they are pretty busy and I'm starting to wonder if they're understaffed. Last time we came they forgot one person's meal, this time our appetizer didn't come until after our meal because our waitress forgot. No biggie, and I get it, the place is busy! But something to be mindful of when you eat here! read more

This is my favorite pizza place to go to! They have a ton of options on flavors and types. My favorite is the hot honey and their ranch is really good too. It's an easy choice if you're feeling like pizza! read more

I love the unique pizzas on the menu. The food is delicious, and the service is great. It's a great place to hang out and grab a slice.

Wow, this place is poppin! My friends and I tried going last week and were quoted an hour and a half wait, so this time we discovered you could get on the waitlist beforehand, and so we did it through Yelp! It was awesome to have live updates on where we were in line and having an estimated time for when we could get a table. Once we arrived shortly after the estimated time, it was about 20 minutes before we got a table. We were seated right in front of the platform where bands/artists play, so it was a little loud, but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. Our server was great! He was very attentive, making sure we had enough water and came around frequently enough for us to order drinks, appetizers, and food despite how busy it was. We ordered nachos to share, and I had the February special sangria, which almost tasted like strawberry lemonade. The nachos were delicious! All the toppings were fresh, and the chips weren't soggy from the toppings. For our entree, my friend and I shared a Grape & Gorg; it was delicious! The flavors were all very strong and unique but complimented each other so well. Overall, there was good music, good vibes, and good food, and I will definitely be returning! read more

Delicious crust and a fun menu with unique toppings. Salads are also crisp and yummy. We gave a family member a gift certificate for Mother's Day and she has gone to eat there 5 times since - bringing different friends and family members to enjoy it with her. read more

So glad they put a slackwater down here in SLC. This is a pizza joint with a twist. They have a variety of pizzas that are normally different foods you would try. I've always gotten the sunrise pizza which was one of my favorites until I tried the gyro pizza! Those are my top two! I have also tried their tika masala pizza and that was great too. Staff here is always friendly and they always have great service. They have a good selection of drinks, I'm not a big drinker but their sangria that they have is AMAZING. So definitely get the pitcher because you'll want more! Overall I love this place. I come here often. If you've never been I highly recommend coming here and getting their peach mango sangria and one of the pizzas I recommend! read more

One of weekly spots because we love it so much! I love the wide selection of beers and the pizza crust is to die for. We usually try the specials each month - split the wings and a pizza! read more

Chicken tikka masala calzone is my favorite pizza in SLC! I try to make it a point to come here anytime I'm in town. The salads are all good and the beer selection is top notch! Love Slackwater! read more

I ordered the nachos, and only the top like 5-6 chips had toppings on them. you lift the top chips up and the rest of the chips were completely naked. maybe a few cheese pieces and black bean here and there but it was so bad. we asked nicely if we could maybe get some more topping (chips are served warm so by the time our waiter came and "helped" they were cold, and they didn't even offer to remake them) and when we asked, they seem confused? I'm like, nachos are suppose to be covered in toppings what do you mean what do I want???? anyways, remained nice and than they proceeded to bring me out a tiny thing of salsa like 5-7 minutes later. (again, by this time everything was cold) I definitely would never come here again. they were very passive aggressive when I asked about it, and than took their time and delivered pretty much nothing lol. read more

They were really busy and had a long wait time, normal for a Friday night. I ended up getting take out and it was pretty good. The prices were reasonable for what you received and everyone I spoke with was very friendly and polite. I had the From the Earth pizza and added mushrooms. The flavor was good but they were a bit light on the toppings. The crust has a sweet flavor, which surprised me. I didn't like it at first but then it grew on me. By the time I was done, I actually liked it better. I also tried the stuffed bread. The garlic and cheese were good on it but the sweetness was a bit much for me. Once you use the marinara it was pretty good. They do have a spicy version that I'll try next time I stop in. read more

Love Slackwater. Good energy, great food, great live music. The ambiance is great very chill everything you would expect.

Excellent experience. One of the best restaurants in the SLC area. We love Slackwater!

I like this place. They always have a special menu and those items can be hit or miss but they always have creative options on it. We always like to mix it up and order different things. I prefer the pizza over the calzones. They have a good selection with a lot of fresh ingredients on their menu. They carry tons of different options for beers and they offer wine and cocktails. I really like to get the sangria they always have different flavors to choose from. read more

Food is amazing! Service slacks at times but definitely my favorite pizza spot nonetheless.

Slackwater is a solid pizza joint with many unique pizza combinations. Any pizza can be made into a calzone with marinara sauce in the side. My absolute favorite pizza is "the Italian job" it's topped with feta cheese and Peppercinis! The black bean hummus is also delicious. It you can't go wrong with really anything on the menu. This place gets packed for dinner so make sure to join the online waitlist. Parking is plentiful and the restaurant itself fits lots of parties. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat and there usually are live entertainers most nights. read more

Very impressed with Slackwater! Great atmosphere and a great selection of pizza. Tribune d the Hot Honey DP and well worth it. Others at the table tried Tikkachu and California Sunrise. Everybody enjoyed their picks! read more

Another 4.5 star review for me. We have been to Slackwater several times. Most recently we went after seeing a Sunday matinee play at the Eccles Theater downtown SLC. I joined the waitlist on our way, which I highly recommend. We had a party of 3 that included 2 adults and our teenage daughter - her first time. The vibe inside was as it always is - laid back and cool. From the decor to the employees - this restaurant screams - just be yourself. We got sodas and You'll Be Stuffed Sticks. The cheese stuffed breadsticks were delicious. The whole table enjoyed. My daughter ordered the Joe Pesci sandwich with a side house salad (with ranch) and very much enjoyed the sandwich. She thought the salad was ok because she isn't a fan of fancy greens. I tried a bite and thought it was really good. We both agreed that the ranch was awesome. My Chicken Bro Do was tasty and my husband's Cardiac Arrest was great. The pizza has a thin crust that is really enjoyable - texture and taste. The ingredients are plentiful and flavorful. They have some unique combos and I have tried at least 5 different ones between my own orders and trying my family's choices. They also have an extensive beer menu. I don't like beer but my husband has found a few good ones and a few he didn't care for. It is a fun experience to experiment and try new things. Most likely you are going to find something you like or maybe even love at Slackwater. read more

First time trying this spot and it is AMAZING!!!! Our server was on top of everything, and he was absolutely the best! The chicken wings were flavorful and juicy! We really enjoyed the cilantro lime dressing. We ordered 3 different pizzas, and they were all perfect! I especially enjoyed the Buffalo chicken. Thin crust and lots of toppings! The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead is I ordered extra mushrooms on Buffalo chicken and they charged me for 2 side orders of mushrooms but there were barely any on the pizza as you can see in the picture :( read more

We tried to go here a couple of weeks ago, and it was a 2 hour wait signing into the Yelp wait list one hour before. This time, we signed in 2 hours ahead and got a seating time 30 earlier than we anticipated. Be forewarned, they text you ~15 minutes before your seating time, and you have 10 minutes to respond to keep your reservation, or they set you back in line a little. Therefore, if you're driving, be sure to have someone checking for texts. When we got there, the host staff was rude. They don't smile or look up. They truly look like your being there is annoying them. Even the young man that sat is didn't respond to our greetings or thanks. It's not a great way to welcome people. The ambiance was great until it got dark out, and then it was crazy dark. And it was very loud. The place was clean, including bathrooms. The drink menu is overwhelmingly extensive. There are too many options, IMHO. That said, we were able to decide on a peach mango sangria (which, I kid you not tasted like lychee), and a Mother Earth Peaches and cream beer. Very nice, wheat ale with nice peaches and cream finish. Wings were crunchy, yummy but a little salty. Fantastic bleu cheese dressing! 1/2 salad is big enough to share; dressing is not enough to cover the salad, and they charge for extra. Tikka Masala pizza was for real! Chicken was quite dry, but it delivered on flavor. The bill came to $55. A little pricey for a shared app, 1/2 salad, and pizza. Yes, we got two drinks, but $30/person after tip seems a bit excessive. Maybe order out a unique pizza or two. read more

Great place to fill up on brews and some great pizza. It's more personal pies and the flavors were pretty unique.

This one's been on my "places to try" list for awhile and I finally made it over. Well worth the wait, and I'm sure I'll be returning soon. I met a friend for lunch on a Friday at 11:30 and we were able to get seated right away. By the time we were done with our lunch, however, every table was full. So go early, or join the waitlist, if you don't want to wait. Service was friendly and attentive. The nice lady that took care of us answered our questions and made suggestions, which I appreciated since it was my first time there. I ordered the Mulligatawny soup with a side of pita bread and it was phenomenal! The flavor was exquisite, the pairing with the bread was perfection-just right for a cold winter day. I'm already salivating at the thought of returning to try the pizza. Maybe with a side of that soup again. read more

Slackwater - Southern comfort pizza. Bbq chicken with bbq sauce. Red onions. Delicious. Great flavor. Not hot like a buffalo chicken pizza. - Pizza Near Me - Sandy, Utah

The Sandy location is the best. Slackwater has some interesting pizzas, if you like to try new pizzas this is the place for you. The best part of the Sandy location is their service. There was a benign mistake on our order but they more than made up for it. All 8 people at our table were impressed. Thank you for a fun night out. read more

Crowded on Sunday afternoon. Ordered chips and salsa, forget they offered pork and cheese nachos which would have been better. Wings were fried, dry and didn't finish. Pizza crust is best part. Toppings slid right off. Ordered calzone that could have been cooked longer. Third time here and less impressed. Won't be rushing back. read more

Always a great time at Slackwater. We are closer to their Ogden location and frequent it often, but this time we met up with friends for dinner at this Sandy location. There was a little bit of a wait, but well worth it. The service was great, food was on point and prices are great. It's a popular spot and the energy level is high. You definitely need your outside voice to communicate, but it's a fun vibe and everyone seems happy. Would recommend you try the California Sunrise Pizza. We get it everyone time we go and it never disappoints. read more

Okay so... I put us on the Yelp-hosted waiting list for the first time ever. It worked pretty well, although they acted like I was speaking another language when I mentioned I had put the note in to be seated by a TV, so I'm not sure they saw that. It was loud and busy when we arrived. We were welcomed by a hostess in a crop top and low rise jeans, which was... surprising. I mean... It's cold out, among other things. But she was very friendly, so all good. Then we were brought to our seat by another hostess, also in a crop top. So maybe it's a thing? I don't know, moving on. Overall, the beer list was good, but the food was underwhelming. My husband's calzone was delicious, but my sandwich was pretty plain. It was mostly lettuce and balsamic and lacking in other flavors. The chips and guac were just average. Our server was super nice and saved the experience for sure. read more

Bradley took such great care of us. When my daughter started feeling unwell during our wait for a table, he helped us switch to a carry out order, brought our food out to us as quickly as possible and ensured we had everything we needed. Always a solid option! Atmosphere is great, service has been consistently great, and the pizza (cooked crispy) is so good.

Slackwater is my family's go-to for eating out. We've yet to order something that isn't delicious!

The food was great and our server was fast. My only complaint would be the wait time. We called ahead and got our party (of six, so nothing gigantic) on the list. We still waited for an hour outside before we were seated. This was just on a normal Wednesday night. Great food, but beware the fate of your plans after the restaurant if you've got other things scheduled. read more

Their food is great! We have gone there three times since May 13th and every single time it is amazing! Service is fast and their crew is always incredibly nice. We have sat outside all three times on either patio and enjoyed it. Someone is always coming to check on you which we really appreciated especially outside. I 100% will always recommend the tikka masala pizza. It's incredible! read more

Came for some take out. They do curbside pickup. Only thing is that they don't have an online ordering system. You must call to make a take out order. The staff members were nice. None of them wore masks. There is a very nice outdoor seating area with shade. Definitely stick to their pizzas. They're known for their pizzas, so stick with that. We ordered the California sunrise which was great. We come from NY so we are picky with our pizza and these guys got it down! We also ordered the Ogden River Club, which i honestly thought was not worth it especially with the additional money for the side salad. The salad was so tiny. The sandwich itself was a typical sandwich. Nothing special. But definitely order their pizza! read more
