This is always a great spot to take people from out of town and also just go get some relief. Fabulous pizza with a great environment.

Very spacious. Didn't wait for seating. Sunday night with live Jazz band. Zach was a very attentive server and has tried most of the menu and gave us great suggestions... so happy I ordered his suggestion, the Hot Honey Dp pizza. It's a pepperoni pizza, three cheeses, drizzled with honey. I normally don't get meat pizzas but it was delicious and not too heavy. Although it said double pepperoni, it was light on that and small ones. My daughter ordered the Hulk which was one of their green goddess dressing based ones. As you can see from photo, it was topped with ample avocado slices and cherry tomatoes. They also have seasonal appetizers. Would love yo go back and try the pumpkin wings Zach suggested. read more

I'm a pizza snob I loved my pizza from Slackwater. It was delicious and just what I love in a pizza. I'm coming back for sure

It's always crowded and you should expect to have a wait pretty much any evening. If you are thinking ahead, though, you can join the waitlist from Yelp and it'll save you a fair bit of time. The last time we went our table was ready when we walked in -- no wait at all! The interior is a cool set-up: a bar to the right and normal dining to the left. Tables are full of families, couples on date night, and friends having a casual dinner. Lots of TV around so you can watch the game while having a drink and some wings. As you'd expect from a restaurant/bar, it's noisy. Don't come here expecting to have a serious conversation. The pizza is pretty solid. It's a little bit like a cross between a fast casual place like Mod and a traditional wood-fired spot like Settebello. They are personal size -- enough to fill you up and, for most kids, enough to take some leftovers home. Toppings are interesting and pretty high quality. read more

I'm a buffalo wing snob.... The wings are some of the best I've had in years. 10/10 food/wings.

In town and stopped by for dinner given strong reviews. Fun Utah almost ski/outdoorsy vibe inside with friendly service. We ordered 6 pizzas for our group with some being much better than others. I had the Honey Hot DP and really enjoyed but a family member had the Hawaiian and was pretty meh. Other good pizzas were the BBQ Chicken (cannot recall exact name) and Buffalo chicken. Overall I'd give it a 4 but just because I ordered the right thing. read more

The word is out about this place! Expect to wait for a seat. Join the "wait line" on Yelp and pay attention to it because it's surprisingly accurate. Food was Great and the staff was very friendly and attentive. read more

A standard waitlist experience. Can't reserve for two people so can't plan ahead easily to arrive at same time. If you don't arrive at the exact same time you can't get on a list and end up waiting an hour for a table. Just seems like there's a better way if you already expect to be this busy and regularly are. read more

Love this place! This place is so underrated. I have never been disappointed with the flavors here. Beer people know how to make good food. The California pizza was perfect and they have the best wings. The habenaro sauce was too spicy so I had it on the side. I don't know what else to say except everything was perfect! read more

Wow wow wow. We drove by on a Saturday afternoon saw they had patio and wondered if they were pet friendly because we had our dog with us. After an afternoon of apartment shopping we were hungry. We quickly called and they said yes so u-turn it was! And are we happy we did! The waitress Florida 11 out of 10 all the way! Super nice recommend a sour beer? Not a big fan of beer but my husband is. Her recommendation was a pumpkin pie sour beer. Umm kombucha?!? Was my first thought and I don't like beer but I love kombucha. Really good! She recommended others that I am hoping to try. She also brought our pup some water which was awesome! The manager Joey was super nice came over to our table. Because we asked if there was a way we can get a few of the pumpkin sour beer but due to utah laws we can't :( but did recommend maybe how to try! But that just means we have to come here and have a slice and a beer! Not complaining. Ordered you'll be stuffed sticks like a cheese bread but 10x better. We thought oh we might not finish it since we also ordered a pizza.... We were wrong Slack water salad is like a house salad. Very good! Definitely would get again. I like salad and pizza! Good portion size as well. Iron horse pizza was delicious. I liked the kick in the sauce it wasn't spicy but there was something there I enjoyed. It's definitely personal pizza size. But enough for both of us with the bread and salad. Their nachos looked so good. I kept staring at peoples plates... sorry haha One thing I liked was the atmosphere granted We were on the patio but they have windows that roll up so your still part of the restaurant and it seems so chill. We didn't feel rushed at all and felt relaxed. Probably also thanks to Florida! Bathrooms were fine. No toilet seat covers but I noticed that a lot in utah. Definitely coming back and bringing friends! They have beer on tab but only up to 5% everything else is canned for high percentage. Utah laws read more

Fabulous pizza great service. we've been there several times. Love the salads too. Price is really reasonable for the quality.

I really like Slackwater and let me preface this by saying I know and understand people are busy and it's hard to get folks on waitlists based on who/what time you're wanting to be on. I just called when I was told to call at 10:50 am because someone who I spoke to there let me know to call at this time as the host would be there. I sadly was already getting told they couldn't put me on a waitlist because of the time and then was told that even when I called at 11 (open time), they couldn't put my on a waitlist. The point is, I didn't expect that call to go the way it did. Makes me sad actually! I'll have to stick to Settebello! read more

Slackwater was very good. The music they played was great and the restaurant was very pretty. The pizza was really good. The crust is a lot thinner than what I'm used too, but it was still good! We also had a side of meatballs that were great. Our server Jak was very helpful and attentive. read more

Easily 5 star. Florida was our waitress. Super chill and helpful and very attentive. She gave me an awesome recommendation for the Pumpkin Sour (5.5% ALC). Could've probably drank several due to how good it was. I asked if we could possibly take some of the beer home. She wasn't entirely sure so she asked her manager, Joey, who sat with us at the table for a few minutes to explain how it works. Thanks to Oklahoma for providing this awesome beer! Hope we get Florida as our waitress next time. We got the Iron Horse pizza, managers favorite. We also got the Cheese bread appetizer which was so good. Every single piece of food and drink we experienced here was 5 star easily. Service was 5 star, environment was 5 star. Cant wait to come back and try more of their seasonal fall beers. FYI: they are pet friendly as long as you stay on the patio! The patio is nice and you can feel the AC from the big rollup style doors being opened. Highly recommend you visit this gem. read more

This is a fun place! Great atmosphere. Everyone there was very nice and the service was pretty quick. The spinach artichoke dip was DELICIOUS!!! We ordered 2 different pizzas to try them out. The California and also a bbq one. The California was recommended to us by the waitress as the most popular one. It has some kind of green pesto type of sauce, bacon, veggies and a pile of spinach. It wasn't that great honestly. The bbq one had house made sauce, bbq pork, peppers and pike of maple glazed Cole slaw on top. That was a little weird. The coleslaw was good in the side. Not my favorite in the pizza. We ended up putting Parmesan cheese on top and that helped. The crust though, that was delicious! I already have plans to go back and try a more traditional pizza because that crust was am read more

Great food, great service and a nice place. I just wish they would add other sides besides the chips. Chios are good, just a lil greasy. A unique potato salad would go great with the Pesci sandwich. Just sayin read more

We always love coming here. The food is great and we enjoy trying their specials. The service has always been great for us as well.

There's something special about Slackwater. From the 'za to the vibe, this place is one of a kind. Their pizza is outstanding. The slices are relatively thin, but the crust is a thing of beauty! #iykyk I've tried at least 5 different SW pizzas and they've all been equally delicious. (I do wish they would offer red pepper flakes or hot sauce. I've asked each time I've gone but have always been left empty handed.) You can go to Slackwater with anyone for any occasion and everyone will walk away happy. The ambiance is rad; super laid back and chill but also full of good energy. I'm not a beer drinker myself, but I appreciate a good cider and I always find a new one to try when I visit. PSA: Prepare for a wait. This place is incredibly popular on any night of the week. Fortunately, I'm usually quoted a 45-60 minute wait, but my party has always been seated within 15-20 minutes. Now that's efficient service! read more

My favorite restaurant ever. The hot honey dp and the Italian job with feta are our go tos.

Went on a Wednesday night while passing through town on our way home. Recommended by our hotel host. Was thoroughly impressed! When checking on Yelp, saw the option for reservations. Reservations? at a pizza place on a Wednesday night? So I went ahead and made reservations just to be safe. So glad we did! Parking lot was packed, they were lined up outside and inside and both patios were packed. We could see why, when we ordered our This is Sparta! and Iron Horse pizzas. Excellent taste and combo of flavors. Incredible crust. Even as busy as they were, service was very good. Glad we went! read more

Jake was by far our best server we've ever had! Perfect timing at all times - we'll be asking for his table going forward. The food is consistently solid, and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. Checked in for a party of six and the app estimated a 1-hour wait. We decided to wait outside. After the wait time passed, we checked in again and were told our table was being cleaned. However, we watched as a group of six who arrived after us was seated right away. When we approached the host, we were told again that our table was still being cleaned. Then another group was seated before us too. The food was great -- no complaints there. But the front staff, especially the hosts, were not pleasant or welcoming. They came off as miserable and uninterested in helping guests fairly. The experience left a sour taste before we even sat down. Disappointing service for an otherwise good meal. read more

The service was very good and timely. I got my hopes up considering I've had many people tell me it's the best pizza in Salt Lake City. We got the plain cheese pizza with mushrooms. It wasn't great. The sauce seemed to be lacking and it was burnt on the bottom. The atmosphere was genuinely the best I've ever had in a restaurant. Each table had their own candles and we were not there for it but apparently they do live music also. read more

Beer selection is great and food is decent. I sat at the bar, which was quite a high shelf for the height of the stools. I had great service. Not being from Utah, this may be typical, but I was carded immediately upon sitting at the bar. A gentleman came in and sat, but his license was expired, and so he left. The bartender handled an uncomfortable situation perfectly. I had the buffalo mozzarella caprese which was simple and amazing. The "salad" came on top of crostini, so I ate it like bruschetta and it was fantastic. I also got the you'll be stuffed which was like a calzone and mozzarella sticks had a baby. It was very tasty. read more

Nice restaurant with very good pizza and a large selection of beer. I also had a sandwich via takeout one day. Their prices are quite reasonable and the service is good. It's a relaxed atmosphere although can be a little loud. I had the spicy pizza which was indeed quite spicy! Maybe I wouldn't get that again, because I have enough hair on my chest now. The cheese pizza was perfect for a kid. I enjoyed a slice too. The sizes are maybe a bit much if you're not super hungry but too little if you shared one. The sandwich was very good. Not huge but it comes with a side and it's perfect for lunch. Takeout was quite fast. read more

I don't know. The is place was alright. The servers not great. The food was pretty good. The room itself is very welcoming and well appointed. Aesthetically it's a real gem sitting in the middle of nowhere which makes it feel kinda special. Food and service are generally paramount to me but here both were only kinda lacking, yet I enjoyed myself. I'll surely do it again. It's always ashamed to me when something feels like it's going to be great and then is only ok. But I'll take ok . Every experience can't be golden, but I think they are on to something good here. I hope they see fit to cultivate it. The servers just seemed so absent. I wonder how the staff is being treated when this happening. Not hostile mind you, just very sterile. read more

First time at Slackwater, I was excited to check this place out especially after reviewing previous reviews. We pulled up for lunch and I was taken back by how crouded it was. Luckily we only had a 15 minute wait to be seated. They were busy but all the servers were great. The food was pretty good. It's not the best Margherita pizza that I've ever had but it was pretty good. My biggest complaint was the noise level. The cement floors and open ceiling amplify the noise level considerably. We'll definitely go back, but it's not somewhere I'd recommend for a client lunch. read more

Great food, service, and beer! Love the rotating monthly special pizzas. Definitely recommend the calzone version of the pizzas.

Stopped in here for a quick bite before a movie showing down the street. The wait time was a little hefty and a bit longer than the estimate they gave us, but not enough for us to be unable to eat there. Their menu options are fun, and their drink selection seemed plentiful, though I did not grab any while I was there. My partner got the Cuban pizza, which was delightful and honestly way better than I had expected. I got the Gyro Trip, which was also very good. The crust was perfectly cooked and the toppings tasted fresh. Our server was kind, but I wish she had been a bit quicker/checked on us more than once after ordering. Would come again, but would try to go on a night that isn't as busy. read more

Stopped in Ogden to visit some friend while on a road trip. This was across the street from our hotel and our friends recommended it so it is was a win win. Our kids got macaroni and cheese and it was delicious I would have loved to had a bowl of it for myself. We got the summer special philly cheese steak pizza which was a fun and unique pizza. The drink options are great and being from the PNW I was glad to see some familiar breweries on the list and also try others I hadn't seen. The pizza crust has a different sweeter flavor to it than most but it was good! The waiter was very nice, it was definitely slammed and loud because of it but that didn't affect the service. Maybe things are just more affordable in Utah than Oregon haha but we were so impressed at the price of dinner, it would be double at home! read more

The California Sunrises in Utah! If you happen to be anywhere in Utah, get your butt over to Slackwater to try what they call the California Sunrise. This was one of the best things I ate driving across the states. Whatever is in that Green Goddess base is awesome. The chicken, the bacon, the avocado, everything is just perfectly layered on a beautifully crisp crust. All of this is perfectly packaged togo with extra Green Goddess sauce and a chiffon of spinach on the side so that it is fresh when you want to eat it. I have to award points for the crust as well as I dig the cornmeal crisp, not burnt, that was still present after a short ride back to the hotel. Calling in my order was genuinely friendly and I was given so many helpful recommendations. I'm still kicking myself for not being able to try other things that was recommended. I'd revisit for sure when visiting Utah again. read more
