Good, not great We hit this joint for lunch after a long drive from Zion National Park. The burgers were good, not great; I think they were just frozen patties (not hand-made), but they were cooked well, the buns were fresh, the fries were good, the people were nice and the setting was cool. Interesting that this rates so highly. I had a burger with multiple toppings that I really enjoyed. Then I had a bit of my son's plain (beef, bread and ketchup) burger. When you take all the toppings off, the meat is really really average. It was really ordinary. My husband's shake was really good but I couldn't drink mine as it had so much ice cream it couldn't be drunk. No really, I had to eat it with a spoon. Fine for dessert but not great if you're actually looking for a drink to wash down your meal. Lucky I still had a bottle of water in my bag. The food is damn good and priced far better than i had come to expect when getting food anywhere even vaguely close to the National Parks in Southern Utah. The burger I had was relatively huge and the toppings were very well done (personally, I prefer chopped lettuce and onions over the standard single leaf of Iceberg and 3 tough circles of onion). The shake I had was good, the fries were fresh and crisp. There are't a lot of food options in those parts and I'm glad I found these guys. *Note- The thing you have to remember when reading reviews of restaurants in relatively remote areas whose customer base is predominantly tourists with fairly few options: ----Any place that is not outrageously expensive with good food is a treasure. ----While some places might not be considered 4-star or 5-star if you found them in a larger city, I think they can still merit a higher score due to their quality/value RELATIVE TO THE AVAILABLE OPTIONS. Nice little burger joint, and a good option, since the restaurant choices nearby are limited. I popped by here and had the fried mushrooms, and some curly fries. The curly fries weren't quite as seasoned as I'd like, but the fried mushrooms were good. The server was nice, and the outdoor seating area was clean and featured a cute little play area for kids. Slaker's is a nothing fancy burger and more place. They do what they say at a reasonable price. If you want fancy then go down the road. But if you want a decent burger and a kids meal then this place fits the bill nicely. We ate here on three consecutive nights while visiting Capitol Reef National Park. The first night the restaurant was packed, there was a 20 minute wait to get orders and after 7 hours of driving it was a bit tiresome to deal with. We ate inside. It was crowded. The food was okay that night - a burger one step up from MacDonald's, a great crispy chicken sandwich, mediocre fries and burnt on the outside but undercooked onion rings. Prices are very reasonable. The next night we planned to eat at the Rim Rock Patio. Unfortunately, there was a "music festival" there and although the bands were supposed to start at 8P, when we went at 6:30P, one band was doing its song check at Madison Square Garden concert volumes. Everyone who came outside to eat left, leaving only roadies, waitresses and band family members to "appreciate" the talent. So, back to Slackers. And a totally different experience. We ate outside. There was no wait. The food - crispy chicken sandwich, BLT, sweet potato fries and soft ice cream dipped in chocolate - all excellent. $18 for two people. How do you beat that? Third night, it was a brainless decision - you have to see the alternatives to understand - back to Slackers. It was now our local. Tasty food, inexpensive, friendly and fast. read more

This may sound bad, but sometimes you just don't expect much from a small restaurant in the desert. This place is actually really good. I had a bacon cheeseburger and also a shake. The burger was tasty on a very good bun. The shake was thick and well done as well. My wife had a cheeseburger and the kids had grilled cheese and chicken nugget kids meals. They all enjoyed them. We tried this place based on Yelps reviews of area places. Prices were best value for the area and food fantastic. Blue bacon burger was really good, I almost asked for no honey mustard on it but figured it was so wierd it might work and it did. Kids meals were cool as they go the extra mile and have a cool kid bag and some happy face fries we had never seen as well as a treat. Also have a playground on the property. Wife had the veggie burger and sweet potato fries and loved em. We just wish we had room for a shake after. read more

Low quality food. The Fries were cold and stale. The kids had burgers that looked worse than than McDonalds, and I had a salad with grilled chicken...the chicken tasted like it had been left in an opened package in a refrigerator and the lettuce tasted like it was coated in MSG. This place was very good. The burgers were very well made and very tasty. We have Red Robin at home and this place was so much better. Meat was well seasoned. Shakes were so yummy. There are multiple flavors to choose from. My favorite was the peanut butter Reese's. They were also very helpful with knowing there menu. My nephew has food allergies and they were able to help find him something on there menu he could eat and have us the kid meal price. Will for sure be coming back. read more
