Ordered the combo pizza which was absolutely, phenomenally tremendous. REALLY, REALLY good. This place was formerly known as Red Cliff or something like that. Anyway, as I've traveled thru southern Utah park area, I've noticed that so much of the food is tourist food (just ok quality and pretty pricey). This was really quality pizza. The first shake we got from Slackers was fantastic! All the others since then have been runny and lacking flavor. The first shake was made by a different person then the following ones. They don't make a thick shake even if I askthem to make it thick. Guess since it's the only place in the middle of no where to get a shake I have no choice. Two stars is the best I can do for them. As far as burger joints in Torrey go, Slackers is the go-to. Luckily, my wife and I visited Torrey during shoulder season or we might have been out of luck for food. We went on a Saturday around lunchtime (12-1230) and it was moderately busy with seasonal rock climbers. I ordered a double bacon burger taking great care to ask exactly what came on the burger as I hate mayo. I specifically asked for no mayo. The wife ordered a mushroom swiss burger and fries. The food came out in a timely manner. I take my first bite and get the unmistakeable taste of mayonnaise. The burger was so good that I could power through the mayo. The bun was a light, fluffy brioche and the patty was so fresh and juicy. The wife loved her mushroom swiss burger. The fries were good but nothing to write home about. During peak season, I could see the seating being a problem. Best burgers in Torrey bar none. Would be a five star review if not for the mayo. read more

I eat plain burgers, just meat cheese and bun, so the burger has to be REALLY good for it to stand out. This one was incredible. I'm from Southern California, so I've had burgers from hundreds of different restaurants, and hardly any are as good as this one. Not many options in Torrey, UT. Good burger for the price, nothing fancy. My wife asked for her burger to be served on a bed of spring greens. Well, that didn't happen. Just got her regular fixings that came with the burger without a bun served to her. Overall, affordable place to eat, but don't try to complicate your order even slightly, you may not get what you ask for. Service was not the quickest, but not expecting a whole lot in middle of nowhere mountain town Utah outside of Capitol Reef National Park. read more

I had the cheeseburger and he had the burger with jalapeños. Both were tasty. Hubby upgraded to the sweet potato fries. Good food for a good price! Basic cheese burger is awesome. Severed with fries and a special "fry sauce". Indoor and Outdoor ordering and seating available if you have kids and or pets. Extra Casual. Good value. All food cooked fresh. If crowded, they give you a pager so you can chill and wait on your order. read more

Greasy diner cheeseburgers, fries, chicken, etc. It's good, don't get me wrong. Split a double bacon chee with my compadre, came with fries (hella hot, hella tasty), a bottle of tea from the cooler and a medium fountain drink for $25. A wee bit high for what we got I think. Yes, pork and beef prices are higher. But the burgers don't look fresh ground or hand-formed, more something that's been frozen before. Again, still good. Went back in line for ice cream. Got a hot fudge sundae and small milkshake. Out of Oreo. Ok. No problemo. Butterscotch for the win. Cashier added whipped cream to it without asking if we wanted it, which incurred an additional $0.25 charge. I get it. It's just a quarter. But don't spend my money for me on something I don't even want. I wonder how many people get charged an extra quarter and don't even realize it. While eating overheard the table next to us say they were being pushed into "ordering" fry sauce with their meal. They did...and also incurred a $0.25 extra charge for it. Meanwhile there are pumps of fry sauce both inside and out to be used for free. I dunno. Maybe this is just how they roll. read more

Disappointed. My daughter loves this place and will eat here every time they come to Torrey. Not me. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and when I finally got it (30 minutes after ordering) the bun was soggy and had way too much ketchup and mustard on the burger. If they want to make this burger better make it with BBQ sauce instead of ketchup and mustard. I think the people that eat here must be starving to give this place such rave reviews. If this place was anywhere but Torrey very few would eat here. I definitely won't make the same mistake twice! read more

We drove thru town and noticed this place surrounded by cars at 3:30 in the afternoon. That's a good sign. My partner in crime, the carnivore in the family, had the Outlaw burger which has lots of peppers and ghost pepper cheese. He rates it as one of the top 5% of the burgers he has eaten and he's eaten lots of burgers in his life. I had the grilled cheese and it was crispy and yummy. We spent one night in town, I called 3 restaurants and most were closed or did not offer to go orders. One restaurant even told me to go for four people was too much. This place was perfect! Service was great and food came out fresh and cooked perfectly. Because of covid we prefer not to dine in at places. What a great little burger joint. I had a brisket burger and fries. My wife had a veggie burger and she loved it. Portions were huge. My brisket burger was perfectly and my wife loved her veggie burger. We also split a strawberry shake that was too thick for a straw. Clearly hand dipped paradise. My only criticism will come from my cardiologist. read more

Not sure what the hype is all about. The food was just ok and the shakes were not right. You would think an overload of mix-ins would be great in your shakes, but this was overboard and downright gross. I don't appreciate the shredded lettuce and diced onions on the burgers; they can't seem to stay on the burger. Sweet potato fries were borderline burnt, in fact I can't believe they still served it. Found an extra ingredient in my shake as well....cherry skin I hope it was. Just a terrible experience. I don't think I'll be interested in going again. read more

Very good, simple, solid burgers without a bit of pretense poured on them, as they should be in a rock-ribbed Western American town. And nothing restores one's energy. after a day of hiking like a thick, creamy chocolate shake made of real ice cream, local milk, and blended in a proper metal cup. As you walk up to Slacker's you first see the sign touting this as one of Utah's Top Ten Diners. Then you see that this is not a one time occurance and that you might be getting a good meal in the middle of the Mighty 5. I had fried green beans, a chocolate malt and veggie burger; the husband had a good old fashioned cheeseburger with fries. These are some of the best burgers around. The rootbeer floats, shakes and malts whipped up here make for a fun pitstop when passing through Torrey, Utah. We endulged in a couple of floats, and hot fudge, marshmallow, and M&M shakes (Slacker's has many other flavors to choose from) .
