It was like this all evening.

Great little old-school burger place ! onion rings were great. The all-American burger was spot on. We also got pastrami burger and a southwest burger both were great! Really good service - took a while because it was packed. That's always a good sign when a place is packed. Talked to several locals and this is their go to spot. If Capitol Burger food truck isn't there - like tonight! This is the alternate.

Good food, quick service and clean joint. My husband had the burger and I had the pulled pork and both were fresh and delicious. Yummy shake to end the meal

The normal burgers were good but the kids burgers look like a much cheaper meat. Fries were very greasy so switch to other sides. However service was very friendly and fast.

    Slacker's Special

I ordered the Slackers Special which is supposed to come with bacon. It did come with bacon so I went up to the counter to tell someone. They seemed pretty confused and I had to refer them to their own menu where it clearly says it comes with bacon. They then managed to add half a strip of bacon. This is pretty disappointing especially given I paid $20 for a burger, fries, and soft drink and I think the chicken sandwich with bacon was several dollars more than a regular chicken sandwich.

This was a great little burger spot in Torrey. The usual suspects are on the menu but they also have a couple of great ones you don't see at other places, like the Southwest burger with lots of chilis. The chicken tenders were also really good. The fries were crispy, and everything is made to order. The service was great, there's plenty of seating so if you have a big group you can definitely fit, and they keep ketchup and BBQ sauce out in the front so you don't have to wait in line or ask someone for extra condiments.

It's a home town "fast" burger joint. Very polite, quick service and a great mushroom Swiss burger with good waffle sweet potato fries and a very good buffalo burger. Exactly what we needed and a very nice outdoor seating area. They do have plenty of tables if you choose to sit inside. Not even sure what is with some of the other reviews? Prices are definitely resort area and reflective of inflation! Mushroom Swiss Burger

A bit pricey for what it is, but pretty good burgers. We'll go back when we return to that area.

There aren't too many good options for quality dining in Torrey, but Broken Spur is pretty good. I…read moretried both the Smoked BBQ Brisket ($28) and the Sirloin Steak ($28). The brisket was around average in quality and the flavor was heavily reliant on the BBQ sauce (although that was quite good). It also came with veggies and potatoes on the side. The sirloin steak was also average in quality - nothing special to note. We asked for medium rare, but it was cooked more to a medium. The prices were fair considering the limited options in the area and the type of meat. The restaurant is connected to an inn and it is decorated in an old-timey western style, which I liked. The staff are friendly, although the service speed could have been a bit faster. Overall, while the quality of food was fairly average, I still enjoyed my experience, and given the limited options in Torrey (especially later at night), Broken Spur is still a solid choice.

They started us off with biscuits and butter. We got the beef brisket which came with coleslaw, seasonal vegetables, fries and the sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We got the peach cobbler for dessert with vanilla ice cream. Would highly recommend stopping by when in the area.

All the members of the staff we talked to were cheerful and friendly, and we felt all the more comfortable and welcome because of their smiles. We browsed the goods since we were of a mind to get snacks and settled on a small berry pie with a crumble top. Though it was the size of a single-serving pot-pie, it took 2 of us 2 meals to finish all of it because it was so very rich and berrylicious. We ate it outside since those crumbles got everywhere the moment we opened the to-go case, but oh it was worth the mess potential because it was so darned good. We love when we find small towns that still have their old general stores lovingly maintained and properly run. This general store is just that, and we will be super happy to visit again next time we come through the area.

Guests of the motel gets free coffee, tea, or hot chocolate from the general store which is open early til late, 10pm I believe. We ate at the deli for breakfast. I was looking forward to the quiche based on what I saw on the Yelp pictures but I guess the menu has changed. They only offer breakfast sandwiches now but it's made to order so we got to choose type of eggs and proteins. It did take a bit a time for them to make it so factor that in when planning your visit. The sandwiches were ~$12 each but were pretty filling so perfect for another day of hiking.

He was impressed with the amount of chicken given. Second night, the food all came temperature-wise hot and was hearty, good, and filling. My wife and I are regular foodies here in Los Angeles and we know good food, great atmosphere, and excellent service when we stumble across it. (Try the melt-in-your-mouth Carnitas!) The owner Art (who also owns the clean and cozy Noor hotel right behind the restaurant) is a warm and gracious host who took time to talk to us after our meal, and his politely delivered lesson on tipping in America (to a table full of young and clueless French hikers who were getting ready to leave) was a master class on how to tactfully deal with stingy foreigners before they slip out the door. The guy clearly takes care of his employees. As unlikely as it sounds, this gem of a restaurant is on par with some of the best Mexican restaurants we've eaten at here in Los Angeles - a virtual Mecca of South-of-the-border cuisine. If you find yourself anywhere near Capital Reef National Park, treat yourself to some of the best Mexican food you're likely to find anywhere in Utah.

Hunt and gather has dispelled me of that notion, because HOT DAM this is good food! We had heard that Hunt and Gather was a place to get a good meal, so we made a reservation a few days ahead. We were seated promptly, by a friendly hostess. The wine and drink list was good, we were all able to easily find things we liked. My friend and I shared a bottle of White Wine, as we intended to have lighter meals. The server was VERY conscious of and accommodating to my allergies, which is always appreciated. For main, I chose a piece of trout, my favorite fish. It was beautifully seasoned and prepared. It came with roasted potatoes and vegetables and a creamy sauce that was fantastic. It went very well with the wine we had chosen. For dessert I had a piece of the Sweet Potato pie, which was delightful, however, my husband won the dessert round with his praline ice cream. Next time I roll through Torrey, UT I will happily dine at Hunt and Gather again.
