The look and feel looks straight out of decades ago: sheet metal, steel signage with the menu, random license plates everywhere, and paper towel dispensers alongside huge bottles of ketchup on every table. They're generous with the toppings on their specialty burgers, for instance the mountain of banana peppers for the outlaw burger or a heap of mushrooms for the mushroom swiss. I was not expecting anything good in Torrey after being super disappointed in Bryce Canyon City. Husband and I were super beat from hiking all day,and looking for something greasy and comforting. The burger is probably a little pricey, but it was good. The fries were almost too hot to grab when we got our plates, which is always a good sign. The shake I got was large and tasty! Asked to have it replaced and was told cannot do that. Did end up getting a refund. The other burger meal had a piece of hard plastic in the burger. Was told could not refund. Did replace the meal but friend really was not interested in eating anything else from them. Asked to see the manager, but was told they were too busy to come out. We got the bleu cheese burger (the name was something like that), and maybe I would have enjoyed it more had I stuck with something more basic like a plain ol' hamburger. I clearly stated onion rings that come with the All American Burger, however the girl rang me up for sweet potato fries...for an extra $2.99! She told them they did and turned around and walked away. pretty good burger spot. all of the staff, especially the gentleman who took our order, were very nice. the chicken bacon ranch sandwich was pretty good. I asked for the ranch on the side but it was still on there anyways, but it worked out because it was a good flavor combination. the cod sandwich was good, the cod was a bit fishy but it was what was expected. both the sweet potato fries and regular fries were pretty yummy. the fudge brownie shake was delicious. all in all, it was about 43 dollars for two people to get a sandwich each and one shake. only major downside is that there were quite a few flies buzzing around the kitchen area and the outside patio tables don't look like they have been cleaned in some time. however, the patio seating is quite peaceful and there are some dogs that seem to know they can score some free food which is a plus to me and the small town vibe that this burger place has. read more

We just spent the day in the car touring Capitol Reef. We have been on our National Parks tour for several days. I have to say, we haven't had a decent meal this entire trip because dining out options have been limited due to Covid-19. This place is amazing!! I had the mushroom, Swiss, bacon burger and it was outstanding. Best chocolate milkshake I have ever had. Service was friendly and fast. Outside patio had a gorgeous view on both sides. I ordered the mushroom bacon burger, make it a double, and with blue cheese, side of sweet potato fries, and a chocolate peanut butter malt. Everything was killer! This place has a good sized menu. It was busy and maybe, like other businesses, short of staff. Anyway, we both had burgers that were done very well. Our stop in Torrey, Utah was by far one of my favorites. Our only worry was "what do we eat!?!" Because, kids! We stayed at the Capitol Reef Resort a couple of miles up the road. After a long wonderful day at the Lower Calf-Creek Falls (bring more water), we were HUNGRY. We all ordered great big burgers, and chicken strips for kids. Loved this place! Great place after a long day of hiking! This place had such a fun atmosphere full of hikers all wanting a good burger. We all got shakes and my peanut butter shake was made perfect and I am a snob when it comes to my shake. The girls had so many Oreos in theirs it was crazy. The kids meals were a perfect size. The cute cashier told me the kids smiley fries are gross so we went with normal fries. I went with their famous chicken jalapeño sandwich grilled and it was so good with a good kick to it and the sweet potato fries were good. They were a little skimpy on the fries. Hubby got bacon bleu cheese burger and loved it. We would for sure go back. The burgers/sandwiches are over $8 and they don't make meals so you have to order the fries and get a drink. This is a great family run restaurant outside of Capitol Reef National Park. The burgers are really good, and so are the milkshakes. If you are hungry after a day of hiking, this place is great. And finally, I'm normally the last to complain about Covid regulations, but if you are going to require a mask, then it would make sense to clean off table in between customers. We wanted a quick lunch after being on the trail all morning, stopped in for a diner style lunch. Turned into an hour production. The menu was a bit pricy for a burger and fries. The cashier had another restaurants shirt on and she couldn't figure out how to ring our items up, we ordered from the menu, a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings (it came with about 6 giant onion rings) and a mushroom cheeseburger with fries and 2 medium fountain drinks. Buns were very greasy (soaked about 4 napkins on just the top bun) and the mushrooms tasted like burnt grill, onion rings were burnt and clearly not home made. Not sure if the cashier was helping out, or it was her first day, but ordering took about 15 minutes and the line grew impatient making us uncomfortable. $50 for 2 burger meals seemed a bit high for us. My husband said it was comparable to Whataburger. They also added an option for tip at checkout which was odd because we fixed our own drinks and put our trays away, but everyone wants a tip now days and we obliged, the staff made the best of what they could do. Great for a burger and some ice cream. The ice cream servings were the perfect size (read: huge). The large fry might've been a little smaller than expected but the burgers were great as well. Everything we had on our first visit really tasted awesome. On the second visit we had the deep fried cheesecake for dessert. The fries and accompanying fry sauce were also delicious. I like my fries to be a bit crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside and that's exactly how they make theirs. Also, you need to try their deep fried cheesecake. Unless you are really hungry, it's best to split it with a friend.
