When I got to Soledad my clutch went out. It was Father's Day and I spent the next three hours on the phone with AAA and Morgan Hill HD and off spins from there. AAA couldn't get to me until the following day. In the meantime I was directed to Tristan. Told him my situation and he agreed to take my bike in first thing and get me on the road asap. He did NOT disappoint. He got right on it, diagnosed and got all new clutch plates installed. Had me on the road in about 3 1/2 hours. EXCELLENT customer service and craftsmanship. Continued on the trip without a hitch there and back.

After trying to schedule another appointment to diagnose the electrical issue and have some saddles installed, he gave me an appointment date multiple times for the 22nd, 30th, and then the again on the 6th of the following month which I confirmed for all 3 times! but was never put in his schedule nor honored. I was put off 3 times and had this appointment rescheduled on multiple occasions just to never even have it. As he blamed me for not clarifying whether he needed a specific part or not which was already discussed and not really even relevant for the other work needing to be done on the bike or for the already confirmed appointment times. His MANIPULATIVE & SELECTIVE MANAGEMENT STYLE, or just poor scheduling and communication skills will unfortunately never have me return to receive his services. Also, the oem part he claimed I needed and used as his excuse to not schedule me for, was up charged because he thought I was unaware of motorcycle repair or parts pricing. So again, don't waste your time or money dealing with this unaccountable D bag. Go to an actual shop. Pay for more Professionalism.

If you just need an oil change and can do the minor maintenance and inspections yourself, then it will be a bit pricy at this shop (~$170). However, if you want someone else to do all that, it would be cheaper than a dealership.

During the job, Andy cut into my fuel tank due to careless work--something that should never happen on such a straightforward install. He wanted to give it to his "neighbor" mechanics to fix it for cheaper labor but my brand new car deserves the dealership. Now I'm dealing with $4,200 in damages on a basically brand new car at the dealership. The shop did admit fault and agreed to pay, but I'm still waiting on the check he gave me to process in my bank, which has been frustratingly slow. What makes it worse is how avoidable this was. This isn't a complex custom job--it's a basic exhaust install that any competent shop should be able to handle without issues. Damaging a fuel tank is a serious mistake, not just a small slip-up. Just putting this out there so others are aware. If you're planning to get work done here, especially on a newer car, I'd be cautious and ask a lot of questions upfront. Really disappointing experience overall for something that should've been quick and simple. On top of that. Now I gotta wait for my car to get fixed and find a new place to install H pipe. Dude talks too much as well

I didn't take pictures, as this smog and repair place is just located at a Chevron gas station…read more Well, I actually did take a picture, but there were people in it that might not want to be part of my review and it honestly didn't show much, but not having a good photo didn't seem like a reason not to leave a 5 star review for a good local place who provided really good service. We had to take our Prius in for a smog check (why though, it's a Prius!) and I called in to to make an appointment, which was easy to do. When we arrived, they told us where to position our car, asked for the DMV paperwork, and quickly went about performing the smog check. They performed it quickly, did it for a transparent fixed price (some places charge more for certain cars, including Prius's, which seems strange), and got us on our away quickly. The price was reasonable too - about $60 all in. They pointed us to some chairs where we could sit and wait while they did the test - nothing fancy, but it's good to have an option to sit. For whatever reason, smog checks are something I kind of dread, even though it's always painless. Having a local place that can do this quickly and efficiently for a reasonable price is always worth calling out.

I'd devotedly used HD dealer servicing, maintenance, and installs since 2005, mainlay due to warranty, etc. When my 2014 heritage classic was due for 10K service recently, I checked with 2 HD dealers in the area, and just this simple service was pricey. I searched Yelp for well-rated service and, even though I'd driven by Slabsides like forever, was impressed with ratings & comments. When quoted the 10K effort price, it was very reasonable. Upon I took it in, it was noted (correctly, since tires were original) that I really needed tires (getting bald except on sides. Roger was great to work with. I also had a Boom stereo system and Ness Big Sucker Stage 1 that I hadn't gotten around to installing, so wanted to see how that went. Everything was great!!! Runs like new, stereo has huge sound, and white wall tires look super! All done very fast. Out-the-door price very reasonable (and not much more than the HD service + tires' cost). These guys know bikes and are the real deal. Definitely try them out. read more

Can't say enough good things about roger and everyone who works here. They always go out of their way to help me with upgrades on the bike and getting me back on the road when I'm needing help . They bust out oil and tire changes with a hustle often on the same day especially if I let them know ahead of time , that I really appreciate . I have a 2004 fxdx that has been through some rough miles and Roger is always super honest and has great advice. I tried going to another shop once or twice out of convenience for where my house is but I was really disappointed and know to not make that mistake again. Been a regular here for years now. I didn't come much before with the old owner except once or twice but the shop has done nothing but great things with roger as the new owner of this shop, genuinely good guys over there ! I bought my bike 2 years ago and have had Roger and Mike work on it every chance I get. These guys are no bullish*t. They will tell you the truth and help you set your bike up for your needs. If you are thinking about getting into stunting Harleys then this is the shop for you. If you aren't into stunting and want a reliable shop that does good honest work, Slabsides is where you need to be. This crew is far better than any Harley Davidson shop in the area. Good place to do business. Bruce is really knowledgeable about what works and why, and doesn't just pick parts out of a catalog. Plus, he's a heck of a nice guy. I haven't had a reason to have work done in the shop yet, but they seem to have a backlog of bikes waiting for service, and that's usually a good sign.
