Beware of scammers I like to share my experiences w/ San Jose BMW Service. 1st day I towed my bike to service, They quote for 72K service & Parts(Spark plugs, Air Filter, Value Cover Gaskets) $961(acceptable) 2nd day They update quote to replace master front brake cylinder $1928(including 1st day) Acceptable 3rd day I got the text from Pete(Service Advisor) told me I need the new battery update quote me total of repair order $2230(unacceptable) I call him right away to tell him my battery was new just change last month. It's impossible to dead battery. I declined to change the new battery. He told me if you not change battery we can't finish your bike job done because we can't test ride. I still told him I not gonna change the new battery. 4th day he still text me for new repair order to add battery again. I call him and he didn't respond my call and give his team(Ray) to talk with/me. Week later he text me my bike done without change the new battery. This dealer dishonest, ripoff, lie, scam and scare for the customers.(all in one) He try to upsell unbroken or unnecessary parts to get more money from customers to them. If I not confident will change the new battery as he recommended. My battery is Heavy Duty Lithium Battery way better & expensive than OEM battery. Yesterday I pickup my bike rode to work for couple days without any problem with battery. Please be careful this dealer, I don't want they dishonest or scam with another customers. read more

Drove a friend here, had a good experience all around. Plenty of BMWs, Vespas, and other motorcycles to choose from (Zero electric motorcycles). The staff is very knowledgeable, and are riders as well. There is a repair shop and parts department here too--it's nice to be able to have a one-stop shop so to speak, and they are able to ship items like a tail kit if you are from out of town. They also have a hand-crank cut-away of a Boxer engine! My friend took a motorcycle out for a test ride: this location is close to the freeway, and there are some wide roads around the neighborhood to test how urban street handling is for your potential picks. I personally have had good luck with vehicle purchases here in the South Bay, and would definitely recommend a visit to San Jose BMW. I went to this dealership today and was so impressed with the knowledge and friendliness of the team. I am interested in a BMW R18 classic or the soon to be released R12 Classic. I am HORRIBLE with names, so I must apologize for not remembering the kind woman's name. (If the manager reads this, please remind me to change the review.) I got to sit on the R18 and ask about customizations. I did not feel pressured to buy immediately. Email interactions with the sales person Alex Hodgson was prompt and positive and things took a 360 when i went there this morning for a test ride and have them evaluate my trade. Confirmed the timing I would be there and upon arrival I was told by one of the gentleman in the front that they would reach out to Alex and asked me to wait in the lounge area. I did so for 15 mins without anyone stopping by. Did hear Alex chit chatting with an elderly gentleman all that time I was waiting, and guess sales are not important and treating prospective customers this way is a bad start. These guys are great. Very low pressure, knowledgeable dealership. Last year I bought a used RR. They were awesome! I just brought it back for service and couldn't be happier! Quick, same day, no surprises. One thing that sets them apart is the complimentary loaner bike! Loved it. The bike they gave me was an older RT with 100,000 miles on it. Still runs just like new. My boyfriends motorcycle battery died in his work parking lot. He asked me to grab a new battery for him. Prior to driving over, I called on the phone to make sure they had his battery on hand. My boyfriend was busy with work so he wasn't answering his phone to confirm the specific type of battery. The parts guy on the phone was helpful and was able to look up his name and confirm the battery he needed. Luckily they did have his battery in stock! The store is really clean. They have a lot of clothing too-- the aesthetic reminded me of a Tommy Bahama store; really neat! I was in and out of the store in about 5 mins tops. Look, I'm not the kind of guy that complains about waiting 45 minutes at a restaurant on Mother's Day without a reservation. I have realistic expectations of any business. Sometimes I read reviews and the expectations are frankly ridiculous. I do expect good service from everyone though, I want good service from Dennys AND I want good service from fancy restaurants. Business is business, money is money. How much I spend on a bike should not be how good service is measured. So getting the kind of treatment I've gotten from SJ BMW is amazing. The bike is premium, and my experience was above that on every level. True, this is what the majority expect from buying a BMW, but it wasn't just buying the GS, it's been everything and everyone. Pete in service is amazing. Cory is a wild man. Cristian in finance was super cool. The kid who picked up my motorcycle after my crash was kind and had smile. Talk about service after the sale. This has been going on for years btw. I've been invited and attended a BMW after hours adventure movie/meet and greet with Rawhyde years before I ever bought a motorcycle from them. They've never ignored me, they've let me ask questions and walk around the shop when I was just a bored and looking around. I'd been going in there about 7 years on KTMs, Yamahas, and Aprilias before I ever bought a bike from them. I wasn't sure I was ever going to buy a BMW frankly, I think I eventually bought one because I fell in love with the shop! San Jose BMW has been around for a long time. And there is a simple reason for that: loyal return customers. I have bought 2 R1100 style bikes there, and together they lasted for 25 trouble-free, enjoyable years of Boxer engine bliss. The service isn't cheap, but it's performed so well that in over 20 years I NEVER EVER had a single issue with my bikes. I trust them blindly when it comes to servicing - which isn't cheap but definitely worth the price given the standards and quality they hold themselves too. Also - the people there share the DNA for motorcycles and clearly want to make customers happy - it's always fun to hang out there. I only wish they had a Bavarian beer garden in the back, but understand there may be legal ramifications... :-D Both for purchasing and especially for servicing your bike (and the latter is what will keep you riding with a smile on your face, trust me), SJBMW are a must go-to place. I will go there for my next bike (and it must be a boxer!). read more

So, as happens with so many automobile and motorcycle dealerships... I had been screwed around at four different Kawasaki dealerships (Hayward, Fremont, and two in Sacramento). In the past I have visited San Jose BMW and test rode three different motorcycles. Cory was especially helpful and knowledgeable then. Well, after my frustrations with Kawasaki dealers I made a pivot and decided that I'd spend a tad more and get the BMW. I decided on the ever fun and fast S 1000 RR. In total I spent about 1k more and got 10 times the bike. Not only is the machine itself an engineering masterpiece, I was also sold on the facility and especially the staff. Cory was my sales guy. To say that he rides is a complete understatement. According to track legend, he'll eat most sport bike rider's lunch on the track while on his GS. He's no joke. Bill in parts is awesome. He knows his parts and he won't steer you wrong. Kate in service is a dream. If she can get you in she tells you when and how long it'll take, but if she can't...she straight up and tells you she can't and doesn't blow smoke. She was super helpful during my flat tire SNAFU and my bike's first service. Even tho I paid by check, Alex in finance was awesome. She explained all of the warranty information extremely well and answered all of my dumb questions. She is also the resident green thumb. Recently I took my RT in for a battery, the service advisor, Randy, who is an expert at BMW information called me back and said I needed brake pads and a rear tire. He didn't want me riding out unsafe. It didn't seem like he was ever upwelling me, then he gave me a little discount to help ease the expense. Randy is honest, reliable and super knowledgeable. San Jose BMW - Yes, I'll take it back, BMW does deliver "Sheer Driving Pleasure." It's been a couple years since our sour incident with BMW. After countless emails and time, S/O received his title and plate. S/O really likes his S1000R and had a great time while he owned it. Fast forward two years later, he came back in hopes to purchase a S1000RR. He ended up purchasing the bike at another dealership in Sacramento but I think we can both agree that San Jose BMW does have true intentions of delivering great customer service. We were both welcomed with open arms again. Despite our issues in the past, Willie, his sales and service team we're very friendly, professional, and accommodating. Lately, My S/O was thinking of changing out his seat to gain comfort and alleviate some back pain. Willie was nice enough to let him try out different seats on his own bike! What other dealership does that? I tell you, none. Service has been a huge part of my S/O's bike journey. They were there for him for every issue. I had to have the 2023 BMW R1250R I bought from them repaired because of my disastrous DIY installation of cylinder guards, resulting in two broken bolts and oil leaking everywhere. First, Geoff the master mechanic waited way past closing until my bike arrived from Monterey. Second, he told me not to worry, and that he would make it right. Two days later, the broken bolts were removed and the cylinder guards were professionally installed. When I picked up the bike today, Randy was there to greet me, clearly explaining the bill and the work done. This kind of courteous, professional, and highly qualified service is part of the reason why SJBMW is one of the top BMW motorcycle dealerships in the country. Serious Fail Terrible Customer Service I went in to look for a new bike and spoke to Cory. I went back a week later and he didn't even remember who I was even though we spoke for an hour and half about a trade in price for my current BMW(actually didn't end up needing trade in bc sold my bike privately within days) We also went over pricing for a new 2020 R1250RS. He said he would call back after taking it to the sales manager. Well after waiting a week and NO call back we purchased it from another dealership. Either he doesn't take women seriously or just caters to silicone valley millennials. I really wish we had dealt with the other female sales person who was extremely cool. Ok so had some work done on my BMW RnineT about two and a half years ago, warranty for my fender eliminator expired two years. One of the LEDs went out. Even though warranty expired, Bill reached out to manufacturer of component (New Rage Cycles) and was able to get them to replace the broken LED. I'm a big fan of the fender eliminator from New Rage Cycles and appreciate the replacement part.... but truely appreciate the efforts from San Jose BMW and Bill in particular to help communicate issue with them and ship part. San Jose BMW didnt make a dime of this transaction but definitely treated the situation as if it was a new motorcycle purchase, which it was not. Even though the issue was with a third party, the fact I purchased it at San Jose BMW was why they helped me out so much. Thank you Bill for your help and truely going above and beyond. read more

This is a long overdue review for the team at San Jose BMW. I've been a spoiled BMW rider. The shops I dealt with previously in CT and NJ were top notch and I had just assumed all BMW shops were this way. San Jose exceeded every expectation I already had for my service visits and a cool crew of people always willing to take some time to talk about your riding goals. I've had conversations with probably everyone in the shop at one point or another and I never got the feeling like they couldn't be bothered listening to my boring stories... It was always a place to go and chat bikes and learn something each visit. So, why am I finally writing this review? It took me moving to Vegas and experiencing what a shop that just goes through the motions is like. Walking into BMW moto shops has always given me this giddy feeling of a child with all those fun pieces of machinery sitting there just waiting to be enjoyed. Walking into the shop in Vegas (Eurocycle) felt like walking onto a Carmax lot. More used bikes than new, sales people that don't listen at all and try to sell you whatever they have even if it's the same model, older and in worse condition than what you currently ride (a salesguy literally tried to get me to trade in my bike twice for the same exact bike I ride but the floor bike had more miles, been dropped twice and was in total shit shape.) I left scratching my head at this interaction. I'm sitting here a little depressed that this is my only certified BMW Motorrad option within a few hundred miles... Time to start doing my own wrenching again... So you San Jose riders. Treasure what you have up there! Loaner bikes when you drop off for service! Demo bikes! High end riding gear to actually try on before you buy! A service team that cares about getting and keeping you on the road and dirt! For reference, the shop in Las Vegas charges $168/hour for labor which I think is more than they charge in San Jose but I can't remember exactly. Even though I'm in Nevada now, I'll be ready to upgrade my bike in the next couple years and I'm going to call San Jose on the phone and order exactly what I want and have it delivered to me here in Vegas. read more
