My motorcycle was left for more than two weeks in his workshop. As per his time, Rafi said two weeks however, when I called after two weeks he said he does not want to work on pressure. He was trying to make excuses that I asked for a discount when I left the bike, at that time he did not oppose about the discount, rather he said he would give me the estimate in a week and will fix within two weeks. When I called him after two weeks, he was making all kind of excuses and talked about discount as well, which he said did not motivate him. He was trying to show his anger, but politely, I asked how long it would take to repair then, on reply he said to take my bike without repair. He said, he does not want to work on pressure and will not fix my bike. Because of his attitude and false assurance, I lost my time, energy and money to take UBER from my home to his workshop. Through my experience, I understood Rafi is an arrogant, self sufficient person, not serious about his work and does not care about customer time and money. Was riding mt Hamilton and lost my preload adjuster almost to the observatory. My rear shock completely bottomed out to where my bike was so low I couldn't even put it on the kickstand. Found these guys on google and rode over. First of all they were open on a Saturday which was awesome. They got me in right away which was also awesome because I had a 2 hr ride home in front of me. Did great work on my bike mechanics were very experienced. They made sure to do a run down on everything that needed to be fixed and changed all my fluids to make sure bike was running properly. Even put the same oil back I brought it with which was highly appreciated since I was running 300v racing oil. I brought my 07 Sportster in for new tires in 2018. Ralph took care of me and it was significantly less than what SJ harley wanted. Come November 2020, I brought it in for a fluid leak. Ralph took care of me again. He told me what parts to get from SJ Harley and I brought it to the shop that day. Bike was done in a few days just in time for my long ride to SoCal. I went to sporttech to have my rear tire change on 05 Harley. I took a trip to Mexico in Sept 2021. Traveling on the grapevine home my rear tire started losing air. I made it to Bakersfield put air went low again.put some fix a flat mused bike home to San Jose putting air every half hour. When I got bike to San Jose i took bike to benard to have him fix tire. When benard removed tire he notified me that whoever installed my tire did not take the wrinkles out of tube by inflating tire then deflating tire once or twice to get wrinkles out of tube. It's hard for me to believe that sporttech did not know how to install my tire property.i thank God I made it home alive. Be carefull where you have your tire change. Person who change my tire at sporttech was very rude. I hope he didnt purposely extend his rudeness to my motorcycle. That would be consider a willful criminal act. That could have left me with great bodily injuries. read more

I live in San Francisco, and a couple weeks ago I got stuck in Campbell, 50+ miles away from home, with a big crack in my exhaust. A couple bolts worked themselves loose, and with the extra vibration, the exhaust header developed a big crack, sort of diagonally across the pipe (this is on a '09 Multistrada 1100S). I found Sporttech on Yelp because it was nearby, and managed to make it there. Rafael got working on my bike right away and rigged together a clever temporary fix, using two large hose clamps and strips of aluminum from a Red Bull can. The crack was diagonal, so the clamps held it all together well enough for me to make it home (and actually even beyond that, because I rode with the temp fix for a couple more days before I could find a replacement pipe on eBay). Oh, and he replaced the missing bolts as well. It was really awesome - these guys really saved me, got it done super quickly (I think it took just half hour or so), both Rafael and another guy working there (I didn't get his name) were very nice to talk to, and on top of this they didn't even charge me anything! That's really awesome service, and I totally recommend them! read more

I recently bought a 20-year old Yamaha V-Star 650 and needed a quick check up. I got directed to Sporttech by another motorcycle shop. The Sporttech guys took care of a few things and made recommendations and I said I would return a few months later to do the bigger stuff. Which I did. I just picked up my bike a few days ago. It's like day and night. Their recommendations were valid. Wow, my 20 year old bike is now like new. So much smoother to ride. These guys are more than just servicemen and business partners, they are friends. I'm a woman and they knew I was new with this huge bike... When I picked up the bike a few days ago it started sprinkling. They warned me about new tires on wet road. They offered to haul the bike on the trailer to my house. Dropped off my Honda Shadow for an oil change and Dave gave me a full walkthrough of what I needed to change/fix on my bike! It was a humbling experience as a first time bike owner and Sporttech made this shop experience very comfortable. After going to 2 bike shops and people turning me away, I came here. My headlight wouldn't turn on. As soon as I drove the bike in they knew EXACTLY what was wrong with it. Literally in the first few seconds of listening to the motor. Took a total of 30 minutes to fix and left with it that very same day. These guys know what they're doing. Was saddened when I couldn't figure out the problem myself since I'm a new rider, but that day I left sooo happy! Now I ride everywhere. I recently had my Kawi Ninja 636 inspected by Joe here before officially buying it and I was told the following: - The stator cover & Gasket needed to be replaced cuz the bike was leaking oil. I was going to bring the bike in soon to have the leak fixed, but then it wouldn't start and I had the bike eventually towed to Sport Tech Cycles. My mechanic (Joe) was very helpful in guiding me as to what the problem was and we both found the best way to get this fixed. This is why I recommend JOE @ Sport Tech Cycles: - He did a diagnostics for me ASAP, when the bike was brought in, so I knew that the stator had to be replaced. An original Stator is around $420.00 + Tax (according to Kawi GP Sports in Santa Clara), so I knew this was bad. GP sports said they would charge me $95/hr in labor to get this bike diagnosed and it would take them 2 hours or more to do this .... so no thank you GP sports. Joe got back to me within a day and didn't even talk about pricing. - He let me keep my bike for nearly 3 weeks or more in his shop while I took my time to get the parts for the best price. I'm very picky about my stuff, so I did look around a lot. - Once I got the parts he put it all together for me and today I am going to collect my bike. - Joe is very easy to get hold of, he's gets back to you fast, on text and is also available on the phone most of the times. - He is very reasonable when it comes to pricing. I wont reveal how much this repair cost me, but I can assure you that I would have surely gotten ripped off, if I had gone to the Kawasaki, or even other mechanics especially for the amount of time my bike was just lying around in his shop. - Overall a great job done ... and i'll definitely take my bike here for future tune ups. I took my bike to get my oil changed, some brake work, and tire work. He gave me a fair price, and didn't try to charge me for extra stuff that didn't need to be done. I went back here. A few months later. This time it was for a chain and sprocket replacement. When they finished with my bike, I could hear a rubbing sound. I took my bike back to them. All three of them looked at it, and could not figure it out. One even said that I "may have ran over something, which caused the rubbing sound." WTF? I took it to Superbike and they told me, I had a bad hub. Sporttech was either incompetent, or just didn't want to put in the time to diagnose it correctly. No worries. "Service where they know you by your first name!" Summary: You can find decent service and high prices elsewhere. I have been doing that for the last 4 years and wanted a better experience at my bike shop. On the other hand, you can come here and get excellent service and fair prices. My experience: I came here due to the excellent reviews I found on-line at Yelp and I was not disappointed. On a Tuesday at 3pm I drove my car and brought in my list of things to do on my 2006 Honda CBR 1000rr (flush all the fluids, oil change, install flush mounted turn signals, speedo healer etc.). I was expecting to bring my bike back next week when they could do it. So Joe (the great mechanic that I worked with) says, "If you bring the bike in today I can have it back to you by Friday so you can ride this weekend!" Now the mission was to find a ride back from the shop if I could get the bike in by 6pm when they close. That didn't go so well so Joe offered to give me a ride back to my place since I couldn't get a ride from a neighbor on such short notice. Wow! I couldn't believe it. I've never had that before at a motorcycle shop. Thanks Joe! As promised the bike was ready on Friday for me to pick up. I keep my bike in "showroom" condition and Joe respected that making sure he returned the bike with fluids flushed, parts installed, and the same level of cleanliness. Job well done. In conclusion: If you don't have a bike shop that can offer you fair prices and this level of service you are missing out. I will be recommending Joe and the crew at Sporttech Cycles to all of my riding friends from now on. read more
