I dropped off two Tommy Bahama shirts for a total value of $200 ($100 per shirt). When I went back to go pick my shirts up the guy that worked there told me that they gave away my shirts to someone else by mistake. He was unwilling to make it right by purchasing me two new Tommy Bahama shirts. Instead, he got really snotty with me and told me he would give me two used Tommy Bahama shirts that I don't get to choose out the pattern or the shirt that I want. I told him this is unacceptable and want to buy two new Tommy Bahama shirts with the pattern that I want and I want him to reimburse me for those shirts. He said no. and was only willing to give me two used random Tommy Bahama shirts that I do not get to choose myself. This place is incredibly crooked and corrupt. The owner is dishonest and not a man of his word. I got screwed in this transaction and did not get any new shirts. Dropped my beautiful Tommy Bahama shirts off and poof. They disappeared. Never got reimbursed and never got my shirts back. There's a reason this place is ranked extremely low on yelp and Google. Do not go here under any circumstances unless you want your beautiful clothing to "disappear". I will also be filing a small claims lawsuit against them in court as well as writing a review on yelp and Google. Rude, unprofessional, unreliable. This cleaners will steal your designer clothes and refuse to accept responsibility. I have called more than 3 times and gone by 4 times before writing this review. Today I just called and spoke with owner Bill and he chose to argue about the facts I stated and then proceeded to trivialize my years of patronage to his business. Do not take your clothes here! I didn't want to post a negative post but after speaking with the owner today 2/13/24 I will go ahead and post my review I wrote in November 2023. Zero stars. Both owners are argumentative, dismissive and rude. We WERE long time customers and had noticed the customer service has disappeared and the clerk never fulfills the courtesy she promises. A few weeks ago we realize we are missing 2 designer t-shirts (Balmain & Bally) that we regularly get cleaned at Sky Canyon Cleaners. I immediately call and explain the issue. I assume the rude lady we deal with is the owner, she confirmed this when I called and stated her name is Lupita. I explain we put shirts in her cleaners and did not receive back. She insisted the shirt isn't there because her computer does not show anything outstanding like her process is unflawed. I remind her on our previous visit she told us we had no shirts there and luckily the 3 or the 4 shirts were hanging on the rack where we could see & recognize them! She said "oh" and handed us the shirts. At that moment we were both frustrated and my husband said I think I had another shirt with this and Lupita stated "no that's all you have" never bothering to look further, apologize or mention her big error. We feel slighted again and proceed to leave to avoid further interaction. Previously we took a pair of Versace joggers in for a minor alteration, add a drawstring at waist to help cinch/hold them up. I will upload a picture of the awful work. Lupita charges $25; joggers took two weeks for cheap ridiculously long nylon cord. Complete joke. I returned the joggers and told her this was unacceptable as they cheapened the pants and they didn't put rings to support slits they cut for the cord. She over charges for everything then charged us another $25 to get her to replace the string. She is argumentative about everything we have ever asked her and cuts us off when we are speaking. We didn't confirm the shirt was missing until last week and now Lupita just says that's tough she's not responsible because her computer shows we have nothing there. I am going to file a police report of theft. (Update 2/13/24 I did not file the police report because I too am a small business owner and we decided to just take the L and go in peace. DO NOT EVER GO HERE! The owner yelled and called my girlfriend names. This place lost two of my dress shirts a couple weeks ago. My girlfriend had gone in for a couple days straight because they had told her to give them one more day 3 TIMES to find them. The last time she went in they told her they lost the shirts. The owner gave her $70 to "replace" the shirts even though the shirts came out to $100. He also told her that if he ends up finding the shirts he would gift them back to us. She got a call saying they found the shirts and she could come pick them up. She went in today and the lady said the total was $39, my girlfriend had reminded her that the owner told her that it would be a "gift" since they had lost them. The lady then calls the owner over to the counter and the owner said I gave you money for the shirts, you have to pay for these, even though he didn't stick to his word, my girlfriend gave the lady her card and the lady put it in the card reader. While the lady is putting the card in the reader, my girlfriend tells the owner POLITELY that we haven't been able to find the same color as the ones you lost, and that's honestly why we haven't come back. The owner blows up on her, snatches the card out of the reader, throws it at my girlfriend, takes away the shirts from the rack and puts them on another rack behind the counter. He then told her "no you're not getting these shirts I'm gonna throw them in the trash". My girlfriend then tells him "I'll pay for them but YOU YOURSELF said that you were going to give them back if you found them". So my girlfriend proceeds to hand the card back to the lady and the owner is still arguing with her and while the lady is doing the transaction he snatches the card out again and says no you're not paying with credit, it has to be debit. My girlfriend then tells him it is debit and he takes the card back. While he does the transaction for the 3rd time he tells my girlfriend she's a fuc*ing jerk and she's so disrespectful. read more

I wanted to give this place a chance and wow I should have NEVER done that. First off I went in to get my bridesmaid dress altered. David was working at the time and this dude doesn't know a damn thing. He "measured" the dress to be altered for me and told me to come back in a week to pick it up, he said he could not tell me the exact price but that it would be a good deal. A week later I go back and a woman is working so I try on the "altered" dress and it looks like it has not been touched! She measures and pins it and I specifically tell her I need it the following Thursday. I go Thursday and David has a note on the door saying he's on lunch....... He comes back from the lunch after his posted time. It looked like he was sleeping as well. 3-4 people were waiting outside for him. David can't find my dress after about 10 mins and finally calls the owner who tells him it won't be ready till the next day! I had to be in a wedding the next day! I had to have my husband go get the dress because I had to be at the wedding venue, my husband went and the place was on "lunch" again. The dress was $95! Like are you kidding me?! $95 for a dress you didn't have ready 2x?! I told my husband just get this dress and I would NEVER use this place again! I plan to write reviews in EVERY place I can, save yourself the stress and do not come here! I'm still in awe the fact they didn't have the dress ready 2x and yet still charged me full price. Do not come here. (Business owner replied and said I had 7 things done.... Uh no I had 3 things done) I've also taken multiple things to be altered in Kearny Mesa San Diego by my work, and the price has never been that) I didn't take it there because I wanted to try to find a local place for my alterations. I've been taking our items here for about two years now. My sister in law has been going here for years as well. I will continue to drive up here from Carlsbad simply because of how much I love their customer service, cleaning and attention to detail. I've brought everything here from dresses, silk blouses, my husbands shirts and slacks, vintage fabric handbags, coats, musty dresses that have sat in storage for years, dresses with self tanner marks and more. They've cleaned everything delicately and exactly how I want it done. They are also up front with charges too. A lot of cleaners do a quick job and don't pay attention to small marks, etc so you have to show and remind them. I've never had that happen here. I'm extremely picky with my dry cleaners and this location is easily the best one I've worked with since moving to San Diego county 11 years ago. Wow I took my work blouse to fixed and I was told it was going to be done for $20 dlls and I just checked my bank statement and I noticed they charged me $30 dlls. After reading some of the reviews, I had some doubts when i came in to this cleaners. Now with 100% confidence I can say that this place is the real deal. I had a couple pants that I needed to get fitted, and the lady was able to get my measurements. Within I was out the door with a smile on my face. I picked them up that Saturday and could not be more pleased with the outcome. The waistline was just the right amount of width so that I was comfortable, and the bagginess of the pants was gone and instead left with a more slim look. I'm 6'4 so naturally finding pants that fit me is hard enough, especially them being extremely baggy because of my slender figure (hence the reason for the fitting). I can honestly say without a doubt I will be back here again. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I can't warn you enough, stay away from this shop! I bought my sister a $290 gown for her Maid of Honor dress. It needed to be hemmed but had a lot of beadwork. I referred my sister to the tailor on the other end of the center but made the mistake of saying "next to fitness 19" so she went to this shop to get the dress altered. After reading the reviews, I would've never trusted this shop with the dress. Anyway, she took the dress in with the tags still on and asked if they could hem it and take the straps in a bit. She specifically asked if there was too much beadwork on the bottoms to be hemmed and said if there was, she was just going to return the dress for another. The shop owner of course wanting her money, assured her that they could hem it no problem. He said "we have the best alterations in the area and we even do bridal gowns with more work then this." So, my sister paid him $52 and left the dress with him. She picked it up the next week and as she walked away she noticed beads were starting to fall off the dress, so she walked back in and showed them. They gave her an attitude and said that they would "fix it" but that it would take another week. She picked the dress up last Friday and asked if it was fixed. They said they "hand sewed the beads back on for her." She tried the dress on again on Saturday and to say that it was a bad alterations job is an understatement. The beads are either sewn so tight that they're pulling on the tulle or not sewn on at all and are falling off. The strap was sewn with the stitching on the outside of the dress as opposed to hiding them on the inside. The cut of the hem is choppy and uneven, her left side hits the ground and the right is above her toe, the back is cut way shorter. There are loose strings everywhere and beads are literally just falling off the dress. This was their "fixed" job. I called them on Saturday and explained the problems we were having. They said they needed to see it and to bring the dress back to them. We went back today with the dress and showed the lady the issues. She agreed it was a bad alterations job and asked that we speak with the owner who would be there in ten mins. So we waited for him. I explained to the owner the problems with the dress and his response was "well what do you know about alterations? You wanted a hem, I gave you a hem. Did you write the book on alterations, why didn't you do it yourself then?!" RUDE!! Mind you, I worked customer service for over ten years, I know what it feels like to have an upset and angry guest scream at you so I am always mindful of how I talk and treat others. I asked for a refund repeatedly and he continued to deny it. He then said that we needed to take it back to the alterations people? Take it back to them?! We don't even know who they are? He said he gave a portion of our money to them and If we had a problem we needed to speak to the alterations lady and not to him. But it was YOUR store we paid for the services. He said he would only give us $30 because we owed him for his time sewing the beads back on. Let me get this straight? That explains why the beads were half loose or sewn so tight the tulle was ripping. He said that what did we expect with a dress like this with all beads, and that it was impossible to hem it. We explained we asked that and verified it was "possible" before leaving the dress and that if it wasn't possible we would have returned the dress, hence the reason why the tags are still on it. He refused to give us our money back and continued to make excuses for the bad job. He tossed the dress into a ball and attempted to put it back in the plastic when a bunch of beads fell off all over the counter, perfect example of the bad job! So I told him again I wanted a full refund, he grabbed $50 out of his register threw it on the counter toward me and starting screaming at the top of his lungs "get out! Get out! You're a horrible person get out of here! I hope something bad happens to you!" Okay, sir, so that is how you run your business? And that is why you only have one and a half stars on yelp! Surprised at the negative reviews. I've been taking my work clothes here about once a week for a little over a year, and have had no issues. They're always ready when they say they'll be ready (sometimes earlier - i.e. The recipt says Tuesday evening after 5, but it's been ready Tuesday morning). The prices are good, and they've done more or less what I'd expect from them. Only once or twice have I had and specific issues to fix (ballpoint pen marks on my shirt), and I'll point it out when dropping off, and the spots are gone when I pick up. Previously I used a laundry service to handle my employee's uniforms. I decided to see if Sky Cleaners could do a better job with cleaning and pressing the uniforms. The difference was kind of unbelievable. The turnaround time was within a couple of days (60 pants and shirts) and the quality has always been near perfect. Now we send them around 100 or so pieces and the quality has been consistently near perfect. The staff are very friendly and professional. Oh and one more thing... once there was quite a bit of cash and a credit card left in one of the uniforms. They found it and returned it all! So add trustworthy to their accolades. read more
