I noticed that they are doing appointment only, so booked easily via email - Marcia was very prompt and found a time that worked for me. Located off the main drag in Menlo Park, I was able to find parking and was a little early to my appointment, and Marcia let me in. We talked about what I was looking for, and she measured me and started the fitting process. While the first bra she brought out was close in size, it wasn't quite right for my shape, and she took the feedback and tweaked the sizing. I really appreciated the way that she gave expert opinion and advice, but also took into account how I feel with the bra on my body. We worked quite a bit on other bras and she gave lots of tips and expectations on how everything should work. I also appreciated that she is looking more into the fit and some style, and it doesn't have to be trendy. This *is* a luxury bra store, selling top-of-the-line brands (with the price tag to come with it), so be prepared to spend that money. She wasn't pushy when I decided to put a bra back, AND went out of her way to check her inventory to see if she had anything on sale for me. They do have a new customer discount, and that helps a little bit. The store is just the right size, and seems to have a good variety of sizing in stock, and Marcia will work with you to get things on hand if you are looking for a particular size/color. For what you are paying, you definitely get back the value in the service and quality of bras. You'll be in good hands (bras?) if you decide to visit here.

Yikes...this location looks nice. I mean it's Stanford. But looks are deceiving. The staff is…read moreatrociously tacky. Classless girls running things in both the VS & Pink sections. I just happened to pop in about 10 minutes after they opened. Needed to make a quick online order return. No one was behind the main register in the VS section. I waited briefly before I saw a staff member & waved them over. What followed was totally disgusting... As one young woman was contemplating whether she could process my return, another staff member rudely & loudly approached and asked her fellow employee "what did you do with the undies??" To which the other girl responded and said, "I just put them over here..." (gesturing to a pair of underwear behind the register). The other employee loudly exclaimed, "Why did you touch them?! I just went to get gloves to pick them up!" The girl responded & told her she had barely touched them just using the tips of her fingers to handle the undies.... The loud employee promptly retorted with, "Well, they need to be damaged out." Good grief... clearly a woman had left some undies behind in a fitting room with some sort of bodily fluid on them. Hence the freak out by these employees. While their reaction was not unwarranted, it was incredibly unprofessional to be discussing the situation in front of me loudly. It was disgusting. It was a conversation that needed discretion. I have no idea why these girls were being so tacky about it. I didn't need to be privy to this issue. And I can tell you that my plan had been to process my return and then look around the store to shop. But after that? I was grossed out and just wanted to get the hell out of there. Now. Back to my return. Instead of telling me they needed me to follow them to the Pink side of the store, to process my return at that register, these girls start having a conversation and saying something about needing to go to "satellite"...like what? Then the original girl who was supposed to do my return turns to me and says I need you to go to "satellite." What on God's green earth? "SATELLITE?" She repeats and says, "just follow me to satellite." I'm sure my face gave it away. Because she then says, "You just need to go to Pink to do your return." That's fine if for some reason I need to go to another register. But telling me I need to go to satellite? I'm sorry is Elon Musk running Victoria's Secret now? Clearly as a customer I am not privy to the codes employees use when discussing sections of the store, or what not. Just dumb. And weird. On a sidenote, I don't know if this was casual Friday or what. But these girls were in gray sweatpants and a top. Now that dress code would not surprise me if they were working in the Pink section of the store. But considering I was on the Victoria's Secret side, I was a bit surprised by the very casual attire. They just looked sloppy if I'm being honest. The whole vibe while I was in there was extremely unprofessional. From the way these girls were dressed, to the way they spoke, to the way they felt the need to discuss soiled underwear in front of a customer. The three girls I had contact with just looked like I was a complete nuisance to them. Like I would get that a little bit if it was 5 PM on a Friday. And they had been dealing with customers all day. I'm human. I get it. I've worked retail. But I was in the store 10 minutes after they opened. And while processing returns is no fun, I actually didn't take away from their stores financial goals for the day because my return was an online order, and that doesn't affect the location's bottom line for the day. I really don't know how anybody would want to shop this location. It's unprofessional. And uninviting. This is why so many people prefer to shop online these days. While making returns to stores can be a hassle, dealing with unruly staff members is truly a reason to just stay home and shop from your computer.

He called me very quickly and the conversation was so different from the other places I spoke with! Instead of just laying out "here's how it works, here's what you get for this price," etc., he asked a lot about what I was looking for, what I hoped to get out of it, my motivations or inspirations, etc. That personal touch carried throughout the experience. He consistently made an effort to understand what I was looking for--from the planning process to the photo shoot to going through the photos afterward--to make sure that I got exactly what I was hoping for. The photos themselves are absolutely awesome. It's incredible the different looks and feels he creates in a relatively small studio. More importantly, he just has an incredible eye for what is going to look good and how to create looks, moods, etc. I felt super comfortable the whole time, and I think that shows in the final product. Everyone who has seen my pictures has been blown away. He's way more than just a photographer; he's a true artist. Never in a million years had I ever imagined having a giant naked photo of myself on my wall, and yet here we are...and everyone who's seen it has been amazed. Can't recommend him highly enough!

I brought four outfits from home, but ended up borrowing from the studio one amazing piece. Along with shoes and jewelry this studio was stocked. Christina the owner and photographer was so talented. I never felt rushed. She did not seem like she was in a hurry. She made sure I was positioned to be the most flattering and would help me adjust things as needed. Once my session was over, she explained to me the process for getting my album. She gave me options for the cover and let me choose the photos I wanted in the album. Along with that came a flash drive with all of my photos taken on the day. Within two weeks my album arrived at my door and it is beautiful. I would recommend this studio to anyone who might be afraid to do a session like this. I was never uncomfortable and I'm not normally photogenic. This was a great experience!

My husband and I came across the moss wall art displays at Terrain back in Jan while browsing…read morearound various shops at Stanford Mall with a friend. I was intrigued by them and thought we could use something similar for the empty space above our fireplace at home. I wanted to hang some kind of art other than a painting there, anyway. I did some research online and found similar art work on Etsy. However, I wasn't comfortable ordering online for something the size we wanted without seeing their actual work in person. When our daughter was in town at the end of March, we went to Terrain again to get her opinion and to discuss with the staff there in more detail before deciding to order a single custom art piece. We talked to one of their designers, Reid, about the different options, and told her our budget, the size, the wood pieces and decorative elements we liked. Reid was incredible and so easy to work with. She sent us photos of her beautiful initial design of the moss art base and some decorative options after about a week. After exchanging a couple emails and talking on the phone with her, we stopped by to look at some of the elements in person as we're in the area that day, anyway. We loved how Reid refined the piece based on our feedback, and always kept us posted on any changes in price estimates. The end result looked stunning! When we picked up the moss art, another staff took great care in finding a large box and wrapping it so that we could bring the piece back home safely. We really appreciated it. I signed up for Terrain text message and got a 10% off code. They honored it at the store, as well. Every time we're in the store, we always found something interesting to look at, and the staff were super friendly. It's been more than 6 months, and the moss art still looks great. We love it!

At first sight, you think the unassuming house in the middle of the coastal town is just what it…read moreseems... a house. Walking in, you'd be surprised that simple magic is made here. Though I've never reviewed a photography studio, I'd like to give this studio and couple a shout out. I came here one evening for a boudoir photo session, and was expecting to find a bed. Something that I'm used to seeing during boudoir sessions. However, no bed was to be found. I was confused but also very curious as to why this was. I went to change into my first outfit and shyly walked out. I sat on a chair and the rest was history. Before the shoot: Laura spoke with me and told me what to expect. She laid out the plans to have a cabaret style shoot and to bring my best lingerie. She did have a few things in the studio, she said, but as a plus size model, I purchased a few things to make sure I would be comfortable and fit. When walking in the studio, I met with Mark, her husband and the editor of the photos. He was very kind and offered a lot of support for his wife. It was nice to see a great couple working together doing what they love. During the shoot: Laura was very helpful. She offered poses that would not only make me feel sexy, but also direction that would make my body look fantastic in the photos. Unfortunately, one do the poses that I loved doing didn't make the final cut - if only I looked great in that one. It was one of my favorite things. She had me balancing with one leg extended on a chair, "cabaret" style. She even put a laptop in front of me to see a small part of the movie to get me in the spirit. She offered music that was both comforting and fun, and the atmosphere was just.. beautiful. We worked very well and I felt my best working with her. It was wonderful. After the shoot: Laura and I agreed to a video chat where she shared my best images and I chose the ones that I wanted to edit. It was an easy process and it took only a few minutes. I was stunned to see how gorgeous they turned out. She offered a great variety to choose from and I was happy with my choices. The end result was a great experience and beautiful memorable photos. My husband was pleased and he loved the entire experience watching on the sides line and seeing the results. The only thing that I would recommend is a fan. It was quite hot under the lights, but aside from that - it was awesome! Thank you Laura for this experience and photography and Mark for your great editing skills!
