Husband and I were in town for a family event and we saw this Sizzler location and had to stop in; the only Sizzler in our area had shuttered earlier this year. At any rate, we walked in and of course, the inside of the restaurant is set up the same way as our old Sizzler and we immediately felt comfortable! The restaurant had just opened so we ordered our food and found a booth. We were served our drinks and I started with the cheese toast that I missed. It didn't take long for the food to come out (definitely a perk of the restaurant having just opened) and we weren't disappointed. My husband had ordered the steak and lobster and I had ordered my favorite, steak and all-you-can-eat shrimp. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and so were our lobster and shrimp, respectively. This restaurant wasn't skimpy with the shrimp, they gave me more than enough, such that I didn't have to request more! Our server, I forgot her name, provided great service and I feel bad that I forgot her name. Definitely recommend and would return if I am ever in Provo again.

Sizzlers was the "high-end" eating experience of my youth so on the occasion I stop in, it's usually because I'm feeling nostalgic. That said, with sweltering temperatures and no desire to cook at home, we ventured into Sizzlers in search of a respite from both the heat and cooking. We each ordered the sirloin, baked potato and salad bar and were promptly shown to our table and told we could go to the salad bar. Salad bar did not disappoint. It is stocked with an ample variety of fresh vegetables, toppings, pastas and potato salads and fresh fruit. Also included are chicken wings which unfortunately I experienced to be crispy on the outside and slightly frozen on the inside, soups and taco fixings. Steak and baked potatoes were cooked as ordered - no complaints. Overall, it was a good experience albeit a bit overpriced we felt. Pros: good service, outstanding salad bar, decent sirloin Cons: many of the staff still wearing masks but beneath their nose (seriously, what's the point?), pricey, uncomfortable booth seats

It's been a while since I've been here. We came here to take our dad to dinner because he likes it. The atmosphere is what you would expect for a buffet offering type place. The waitress was nice and did her job well. The staff was friendly and smiled. The food was decent but I'm not too impressed for over $20 for what I ordered. I asked for medium in the steak and it came out medium well. The shrimp and cocktail sauce was alright but nothing special. However, the sweet mashed potatoes where surprisingly better than expected. Also, the Malibu chicken was great tasting with the sauce.

    Twice cooked, burnt steak.

Want a disease? This Sizzler is the place to go. I ordered a steak, well done. It was not cooked well enough, so I brought it to my servers attention. She presented a plate to put my steak on. I had cut this steak into bite size pieces with my used knife and fork, my saliva had been in contact with the meat. I had eaten off of the plate. I expected the server to throw away the steak, and cook a proper one. 20 minutes later, my server brings out a plate with my chopped up steak pieces on it, which had been placed back on the grill, contaminating it for other customers, and also cooking my steak beyond an edible state. Not only did they cook it wrong and contaminate the grill, but when I asked for a manager, the manager justified that it was not a threat to any other customers safety because the grill is "600 degrees." Would you want a steak cooked on a grill that had been spat on if it was 600 degrees? No. Mind you, this all happened the week that Utah had the biggest spike in Covid-19 cases. The manager, after justifying the grills heat, did say that the event should not have happened, and refunded us. But it was frustrating that they justified it in any way.

We loved the sausage soup and beet salad! So unique and flavorful. For the main entree, the gnocchi and winter pasta were also a hit. Hard to top the soup and salad though! However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

The restaurant was packed, but since we made a reservation, we were seated quickly -- and I was glad we did because the wait without one was well over an hour. It was a nice touch that they offered Brazilian lemonade to guests waiting to be seated. We were informed about the holiday price increase due to additional meats being added, but the service made up for it -- the gauchos came around faster than I've ever experienced. The shrimp and teriyaki beef were standouts, the bacon-wrapped steak was flavorful, and my personal favorite was the grilled pineapple, which came around often and was as delicious as ever. Despite how crazy busy it was, the food was hot and consistently good. Tucanos remains a solid choice for a Brazilian meat buffet, especially for a fun celebration dinner.

We stayed at a hotel nearby on our way home from our Thanksgiving holiday. We were referred to this…read morerestaurant due to its location and the person said that it was a great restaurant so we ventured out to try it. The restaurant is connected to the Ramada Inn hotel and very close to a mall. So location was good. Upon entering we were greeted by a young lady in jeans and a sweater, not at all what I would expect for a greeter at a steakhouse but it is a college town so whatever. We entered a warmly lit room with a good amount of tables. We ordered a wedge salad and prime rib. My husband ordered a full baked potato and I ordered the sweet potato. Our wedge salad arrived and upon inspection we both said that it was the largest and strangest looking wedge we had ever been served as it was upside down and the dressing was very odd. It was supposed to be blue cheese but it tasted bland, felt more like watered down mayo than a dressing. I took my first bite and besides the dressing, the bacon had a very odd flavor. We moved it aside and tried to eat it but neither of us could eat much of it. Then our steaks arrived and I took one look at my sweet potato and just had to laugh. It looked like they dipped the potato in some kind of batter and deep fried it! Why do that to my sweet potato!? Haha It made no sense. I opened the sweet potato and thankfully it was fine... Okay now with a heavy sigh I stared at my prime rib with shaved horseradish in a pile on one side of my steak. This was yet another perplexing situation.. it was truly raw in the sense that it was not even peeled.. just freshly grated. Beyond that it had no kick.. the waitress told us that we could mix it with sour cream if we wanted, as they did not offer creamy horseradish! Haha It was an entire comedy of errors. So I tried my best to mix the horseradish with the sour cream... it had no flavor. Then I inspected my prime rib a little closer and found half of it to be fat or grisly. I looked back at my salad at this point trying to figure out which of these items I could actually eat. The sweet potato was actually fine but nothing special. So here is where I sit with this restaurant. It may be what people like.. I wasn't a fan. It was convenient but I would not classify this as a great steakhouse. I feel someone needs to revamp the recipes because I have seen others review this restaurant and we are all on the same page with the wedge salad.

For food, the calmari frita it was called but it was squid, some kind of white fish, shrimp along with fried, thinly sliced red onion, bell pepper and jalapeño. GET THIS, one of the best things of the night! When you do get it, make sure you get bites of the chopped veggie mixture that's buried under all the fried goodness, thank me later. Main course, we got the Parillada de Buenos Aires, this is where the issues start, our waiter said we were able to sub out a couple of the items on platter as tripe and sweetbreads (the glands of a veal if you weren't aware) are not things we enjoy. So we swapped them out for a chicken milenesa and a grilled chicken breast. It also came with 1 each of the sides that were pretty basic, and honestly lacked flavor in comparison (rice, potato salad, house salad, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies). Then the meats it comes with, a half chicken, a 12 oz skirt steak, 4 short ribs, some other grilled cut of meat (menu doesn't specify what kind) and a variety of sausages. The waiter, through super nice, totally messed up the substitutions. He brought them out but from the time ordered to the time we ate was about an hour, and for the correct food to come out took even longer. The food itself was pretty good, meats had great flavor and the milenesa when it came out was hot and juicy. The meats didn't need any dipping sauce because they were that well seasoned. Dessert we had the lemon "cheesecake" which was just a lemon cake with a cream cheese type frosting, not at all what you think of with a cheesecake.
