It was my first time today at Sizzler! I was excited about the experience but didn't have any expectations. I heard good things about the cheesy toast so I was looking forward to that... It was an easy cash register experience, one buffet lunch and I paid with card. I received a drink, plate and tray. Then I picked a comfy booth for my family to sit. It was clean and close to the salad bar. The salad bar was fully stocked, very fresh with the exception of crushed kidney beans. I would recommend throwing out ones that looked that unappealing and open a new can. There were 3 premade fall salads: kale, pomegranate and spinach. I tried them all and they were very delicious!! Then made my own salad with mixed greens and all my favorite toppings. I can't even think of anything that was missing and the blue cheese dressing was really, really good, tasted homemade! Next there was soup: 3 kinds. I tired the clam chowder first, not to my liking because of the fishy taste so I went back for broccoli cheddar. A little thin but the flavor was there! I went back again for a little more so it must have been good. To my surprise there was a hot taco bar, also with pastas and fried chicken! Who can say no to crispy, crunchy wings?! I had one, then another and one more because they were so dang good! I didn't feel like trying much of the tacos or pasta this time (too full) but did think the authentic style tortillas chips and guacamole were tasty! When the bar emptied someone came and filled it right up. Also, it was so clean at all times. I almost forgot to mention the warm cheesy toast, yes please! Couldn't keep my hands off of them so I had two pieces but still saved room for an ice cream cone with all the fun kid friendly toppings :) Most importantly, I must mention our server, Kristin she was so hospitable! We always had fresh plates, warm bread, drinks full and a smiling face when we needed something like extra napkins. She loves her job and it really shows. At the end of the meal I was almost inclined to give her a hug because she treated us like family. She's off Wednesdays and Thursdays so I don't forget. Ha,ha! Needless to say, I'll be back on a cheat day where my diet doesn't limit me from the cheesy toast and fried chicken wings but I will do my best to balance it out with a healthy salad or two! read more

Okay, so I had a taste for Sizzler's salad bar, so hubbers and I went. The place was crowded. We couldn't even find parking on their lot, so we parked across the street. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday, or that it also happened to be Valentine's Day. We didn't mind the wait. I had the salad bar and hubbers got their Valentine's Day special (steak and lobster for $20.) Okay, so I have not been to a Sizzler's for awhile, and I have to say their standards have gone down since I last went to one. They didn't have onion rings or spaghetti. They didn't have meatballs. They kept running out of the fried wings, and when they were refilled, I felt the chicken was a little undercooked. (It could have been a fried a little longer as it didn't have that nice crisp.) (Or maybe it's a NorCal thing?! Because the last time I went to a Sizzler's was in SoCal.) Hubbers wanted his steak medium rare, but came out to a medium. We had to return it. I wanted to give Sizzler another chance. I remember as a kid eating with family with an exceptional salad bar, hot entrees, soups etc.... Brought my wife for the first time. We ordered the shrimp scampi linguine, steak and vegetables. The steak was tough and vegetables felt and tasted previously frozen. The salad bar looked worn out and tired like it was not refresh periodically. I passed on the salad bar. I really want this place to succeed but it looks tired, lighting is not sufficient. Service was good but food was subpar. Parking lot looks surrounded by the bank and motel and there is a dip at the parking lot entrance. I feel like the business got engulfed by the adjacent businesses. Drove by Taco Bell and Wendy's and their drive through lines were overflowing. Sizzler needs to pick up their game. read more

For what it is, this location does a really good job. I've been in the Pinole area for a class and have to arrive early to avoid traffic so I've been going to different places for an early dinner, with mixed results. Since class runs late, I wanted a meal that is not too filling, not fast food, and substitute for the later dinner I usually have. I wish I had tried Sizzler sooner, as the price, quality, and options are perfect for what I want. For about $14 you get access to a full salad bar, some appetizers, and desserts. The service is super-friendly and always available, and the salad bar is clean and well stocked. The chicken wings, which are part of the appetizer bar, are crispy and cooked just right. read more

This has far been the worst experience I've ever experienced while dining out and not just for myself but for my family. We were happy to be able to come to our local Sizzler but didn't expect this experience to happen this evening. First off, there was a line with two cashiers, line started to move along and then there was just one cashier taking orders. When it was our turn to be helped, there was still a line with about 8-10 people waiting. The cashier taking orders decided to start doing other tasks besides tending to customers in line( orders for pick up) until she noticed I was getting frustrated and the people behind us were saying there's people waiting to be helped. When the cashier decided to finally tend to us she seemed like she didn't want to either be there or just have bad customer service. After taking our orders, she was grabbing our drinks to place on the tray and as I recall they also include your utensils and silverware for the salad bar but that wasn't the case night. I had to ask her about the utensils& bowls for the soup and her reply to me was the waiter will bring it to us. That was a thumbs down! We went to our table, I asked the waiter for the utensils and bowls for the salad bar. She came back with just the utensils and no soup bowl. I waited alittle bit in hopes she'll come back with the bowls but when I looked she was tending to the other tables. I had to find whom I assumed was the manager on duty. I asked him for the bowls since the waiter didn't bring them and he said he would grab it and bring to me which he did. When our first entrees came, my partner's plate was steak and lobster( missing the butter to dip the lobster). Took the other two entrees we ordered to come. When it finally came I had already lost my appetite. Not once did the waiter ever come to check on us nor ask if there was anything else we needed etc. I am saddened to say, over the years I've came to eat here or with my family it quite wasn't the same. I feel bad I spent about $130 for bad customer service, poor quality of food and overall not the Sizzler experience you may have experienced in the past. I honestly have never wrote a bad Yelp review this bad but I wouldn't want anyone to ever experience this. How does anyone give this place above three stars? I recently came to this Sizzlers and it was awful. They have not only made a drastic decline in their food, but their service was also terrible. I'm not gonna dive into how bad their food is and go straight to the service because I think that's the most vital part in this review I'm typing. After my family and I got done eating, we decided to get some ice-cream. It was absolutely disgusting. Let me tell you, it tasted like soap. Keep in mind this was during COVID-19, (somewhere around January-February, when some restaurants were just starting to open back up) so we were twice as worried they might have accidentally incorporated some sort of toxins in it. We went up to the counter and told the cashier working upfront about the ice-cream. He completely dismissed what we said and went straight to paying / payment. We tried to remind him again and explained the situation. He said, "Well that's not my problem. I don't know how to help you." Well it WILL be your problem once we get 'Rona, isn't it? We shook our head and paid, not wanting to deal with him. We walked out of the establishment disappointed and letdown. How do ya'll let your workers disrespect customers willy nilly? We found this Sizzler to have taken the pledge To Leave No Veteran Behind.  They are adequate with their product.  They are above-average with customer service.  The wait was adequate. We had steak and each one was perfectly cooked. The portions are adequate. They are a Veteran-Friendly business with a Veterans / Military Discount.  They are accommodating to we elderly and disabled Veterans for our Special-Needs due to our military Service connected disabled disabilities, especially in their adhering to the ADA laws about us bringing our Service Dog into the place. They followed the CDC rules for masks and Social Distancing and made sure their patrons did. The tables were sanitized between patrons. The bathrooms were clean. And that all nicely covers all our requirements for a restaurant. You betcha that we'll be returning here. read more

If it weren't for our awesome server, I'd of only given one star. Everything was dirty. My table had mashed potatoes smeared on it still, guess they did a quick wipe down of the table and didn't bother to see if it was indeed clean. I ordered my steak med-rare and got well done. . .like almost burnt. My friends burger patty was charcoal on one side, luckily the server replaced it with no qualms. The food just wasn't that great. I ordered the steak & lobster. Lobster was ok but the butter that came with it had a funny coco-nutty aftertaste. The dessert bar was even sadder.. no cups for ice cream (the only thing at the " dessert bar") to go in. . and the only toppings to choose from were peanuts and crumbled cookies. Been here 4 times since I found out there was a sizzler near me! (40 minutes with no traffic counts as near me, right? lol ) Its not the best, but it brings back fond memories. The chowder here is amazing, chicken meatball soup is bland version of the mexican kind. I live for their salad bar, and the fried chicken in it. The lobster has been extremely dry each trip, the steaks seem small but seasoned well enough. For $3 a soda you think youd get a refill, but your waitress will likely ignore you completely past the first round of cheese toast. (The BEST!! Especially with the chowder!) You might get a second round of toast or drinks without asking if you're here on a good day. They'll likely be too busy for you to find a good time to flag down, though you should because I've noticed on several occasions the waitress' will look at your table and walk away not caring. They will NOT bring you plates, or a second bowl. Try to keep one of your plates relatively clean, or you will stop after two small rounds when youre still hungry and leave ripped off and disappointed like I have a few times now. We waited thirty minutes yesterday for clean plates and drink refills that we had to ask for. After that I do not plan on returning. Most of the ten party people have ordered salad bar. One complaint: no vegetarian soups, sadly. Gilbert is our waiter, and although a nice guy, he was negligent on not asking us for refills or letting some of who didn't order salad bar how much longer our food was going to take to get done. Bathrooms needed attention, as they were not as clean. Paper towels on floor, sinks not clean, urinal needing wiping down. Now the food. Everyone seemed more or less satisfied with their salad bar choice except that they had run out of certain soups and veggies. My fish and chips sucked really bad as the fish were over cooked and the fries were of such little amount you could've compared it to buying vending machine chip standards, which is: hardly getting any! My wife's 8 oz steak was horribly small and amount of veggies she had looked as if they had a veggie shortage in town! My uncle still gave Gilbert $40 for a tip to hardly give us any decent service... if it it had been up to me, I would've hardly have given Gilbert anything! Overall, service was one worthless steaming pile of dung, food was mediocre at best. Would NOT recommend this location to anyone. Clearly pathetic service! McDonalds gives you better service! Such a pleasant surprise to see that Sizzler is still in business in Pinole as the family and i used to frequent the Sizzler when it was in Walnut Creek and Concord. The food was delicious and service very prompt and with a smile. The salad bar was very fresh and well socked, hard to find salad bars anymore, especially ones as nice as this. We ate there this past sunday and i was meaning to leave a nice review cause as a business owner myself, it seems like people forget to leave nice reviews, only if they were unhappy. This was our 2nd time on this location.. The first was great but this time it wasnt.. We ordered 2 Tri Tip Sirloin with mixed vegs and fries and added 3.99 each for Unlimited Craft Salad Bar.. Food was ok, fresh greens, delish meatballs , fresh hot chicken and carne asada.. But, Tri-Tip sirloin was rubbery.. It was tasty but kinda hard to even cut it with a knife or my teeth and hard to swallow.. The presentation of the plate was a whack!! mixed veggies were all over the plate and even the fries and the steak of my hubby also was scattered. Sadly they didn't have the soft tortilla and we had to request from our server Nia.. Speaking of Nia, as far as customer service is concerned, she failed big time.. - You have to request her for straw and napkins when for million times we've been to different locations of Sizzlers, napkins, extra plates and drinks with straws are already on the table.. - We requested and it took ages before it arrived - We asked for the soft tortilla and she said she will request for US and we thought she will serve it to us but it was actually put on the tacos table and she did not inform us. - We had to request for additional salad plates as we were done couple of minutes on our 1st and she passed by many times without even serving us our plates but she managed to give extra plates to the next table.. - When she served the plates she just dropped it on our table and did not clear the ones we used.. She didn't even think that our table was already cluttered with plates.. - When we asked for the straw it didn't come! - so when we need to go but we need to wrap our left over, we just asked directly at the front for a to-go-styro coz we know it will take ages before Nia gets to us.. They need an armed guard in the parking lot. Sign warns of car break ins . . . The crooks don't care. Sizzler needs a guard, not a sign. Very terrible. Waited 20 minutes in line. When I got to the front of the line I waited another 20 minutes. Total waiting 40 minutes. Then I went up to ask what's going on they told me they are really backed up with to go orders and won't be seating people for another 15-30 minutes. After hearing that we walked right out. How do you help to go orders before the walk in customers? Do the servers and workers not want tips? Does sizzler want to just be a to go order restaurant instead? My dad and I used to frequent Sizzler plenty of times during my high school years so this review is unfairly biased and not reflective of the actual quality of the restaurant. After 10 years, we found this location on our way back from a day trip and my dad decided to revisit some old memories. Their steak and malibu chicken tastes cheap like it always had. Nothing has changed. The portions were small and enough to feed a grown man with a little room for dessert. Medium-cooked steak looked slightly well done. The service doesn't seem to care if you ordered a set meal and raid the salad bar. Their only concern is that you enjoy your meal and if you need a refill. The unlimited salad bar is amazing and worth its deal. The best part was the nacho and taco bar. The ground beef and cheese dip was everything I hoped for in terms of a cheap Text-Mex fix. Ohhhh sizzler. If you're looking for that heavenly unlimited cheese toast: you now have to ask your waiter for it or you will get plain ol' boring rolls. It's glorious and worth the mention for free. Sizzler is all about the salad bar. This location is alright. Sometimes they lag it on refilling the salad bar but it's really busy here. My favorite is the chicken wings because they're unlimited and the buffalo sauce they put next to the wing station is bomb. I also highly recommend the 'guacamole taco'- straight guac and jalapeños in a taco shell with lettuce. The giant salad I eat with this makes me feel better about my previous choices, and the bar has a good selection of toppings. I came here for lunch today. Got the 6 oz steak lunch with additional salad bar all for $12. The guy behind the register welcomed customers with his banter about how tired he was and how it's monday and it's time for him to start his work week all over again. (Cry me a river). The interior of this sizzler is laid out nicely with tons of seating. The salad bar on the other hand, as great as the layout was, left something to be desired. I have been trying to eat more vegetables so I thought coming to a salad bar would be a good idea. I've been to Sizzler mostly in Sacramento and a couple in the bay area, this being my 2nd attempt. When I browsed through the raw lettuce station, something was off, it was kind of wilty not fresh. I made a salad anyways and tried to make the most of it since I had paid the extra for endless salad bar. The salad mix seemed like it wasn't washed properly, you could taste the combo of dried leaves mixed with an after taste of grit. I went up a 2nd time to see if I could salvage a decent salad. Upon reaching the salad bin, I picked up a leaf with the tongs and there was a DEAD FLY stuck to it (see photo). I waited for the server to come by as I was at the salad bar and told her about it, she merely took the dead fly and leaf to the back to throw away. I ditched trying to make a salad altogether and just ate the cooked broccoli from the salad bar. BLECH! I waited to see if maybe someone from the back would come out and re-wash the lettuce, but NO, they LEFT IT OUT THERE for everyone else to continue digging through! I imagine someone possibly dumping garbage sweepings into the salad bin by mistake, which would explain the grit and a dead fly! Otherwise, it is really dirty salad mix that was never washed and came straight from the dirt. I love the Sizzler in Sacramento, this place and their lack of clean food really creeped me out. This Sizzler seemed clean and has a nice salad bar. Our server was attentive to us also. But... I ordered Baby back ribs 6 bone and I heard the guy repeat that when we had completed our order but I received 3 bone and Malibu chicken. Ok that was rectified easily enough, both he, refunded my difference after I noticed it was different later, and our server were more than happy to comply, What really upset me was that my 6 ribs were pork jerky, I think they had been cooking somewhere for days, slathered in sauce, to hide the carnage and delivered with a smile. No I did not send them back as I figured any back there would be the same. I suffered through 3 of them but couldn't go on, I could have picked my teeth with the other three. My potato was cooked but hard as a rock! The roll was delicious! And I ate one of my boyfriends chicken wings from his salad bar, (had to eat something) You shouldn't have to complain and send back food when you go out to eat. I like Sizzler and know it is not a high end steak house, but I have had juicy ribs and steaks at others. So I know it's possible. We walked in for a late dinner at 8:30PM. Got the shrimp trio for $10.99 with a side salad bar. Overall, the salad bar was clean unlike previous pictures, but there were a few dirty tables with one bus boy trying to clean through them all. Our server was great. He was enthusiastic, friendly, and very attentive especially to details. The salad bar was standard and I loved the clam chowder! The cheese toast was good and very comforting as it reminded me of my childhood sizzler days. Sadly, I wanted to LOVE my entree. I'm a shrimp lover, like major. The shrimp on the skewers was cooked perfectly, ok flavor and good char. The bed of rice was ok in terms of flavor, but on the dry side. The deep fried shrimp was good and had a good crisp and wasn't too oily. Now the lukewarm shrimp linguine tasted like lemony dishwasher soap. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. I haven't been at this location in a while, but remembering why. Ordered NY Steak, Med-Rare with Baked Potato. Plate arrived after 30 minutes. Steak was warm and over cooked and potato was charred and hard. I was too hungry to wait another 30 minutes, so I ate the two together. The fat and gristle were tasty, which I like, compared to the drier meat. The sour cream and butter combined with the charred and hard "Baked Potato" with "Med-Well to Well-Done NY Steak" satisfied the hunger, not the craving. I remember why I should have gone to a real steakhouse, like Ruth Chris's. Default is 1 Star, but should less. Five Star to our Server, she was Update: returned, unannounced - tonight's experience was much improved over the last visit. Party of three: two ordered medium and the third was ordered medium rare. All were delivered medium rare. This was fine as our party prefers Medium Rare. Once again, the Servers get Five Stars! The Back-Of-The-House still needs some work. Our orders were at the table in the expected amount of time (Good), but, Chef or Expeditor needs to pay more attention to cook/sear times for steak doneness. (Not so Good). This Sizzler looks like it was newly remodeled, and I will admit it has a very refreshing look. The salad bar had good quality of food, but the corn did taste a bit off (can't quite say but I decided to skip it). The mushrooms and everything else looked and taste fresh. The salad dressing is good but I found the Caesar Salad to have too much dressing making the salad a bit too soggy for my taste. The hot items were plentiful; their hot wings are some of my favorite and their build your own taco and nachos are always tasty. The soup was not bad (expect to get your daily dose of MSG from it). Overall it's a good experience, but their salad bar seem a bit scaled down and would've prefer if they have more variety. read more

Group of six is hard to manage. As Rico as our server, he held it down all the way. Returned many times to take away our dirty platters, replaced us with clean plates, napkins, bread, and refills on our drinks. The salad bar was well stocked with fresh everything. Salads and fruits were fresh off the truck crispy. The bar well attended, I used my unlimited platter to its max and every time I made a trip, thanks Rico for the abundant clean plates, the bar was clean and filled with whatever contents it carried. Rico also stopped by our table a few times more to make sure we were ok. I'd rather have a waiter who remembers that we are present than having to look for him as if we were the ones "waiting" on him. They also remodeled inside. The digs are clean and plush. No longer dingy, or dated. They have four televisions in every corner of the room, easily seen from your table, with the caption on. Perfect place to cater a large group. read more

One of my all-time favorite restaurants...The staff is friendly and the food and salad bar are always great.

I used to love sizzler but I was disappointed at the service and the food. 2 of us ordered salad bar and the other three ordered entree. We tried to wait for the entree to arrive before we all ate. It took almost 45 mins. Than my daughter ordered the ribs and steak. Her ribs were coated with a thick pepper crust, to the point it was not edible. We tried to tell the waitress but all she said was ok. She did not even offer a solution to my daughter. We were reminiscing all the conversations we used to have at sizzler. Elisa the cashier was very helpful, friendly, and courteous. As a senior that means alot. When I went to get my salad and returned to my table I was pleasantly suprised to see my meal there with cheese toast which i usually have to request already there. I found my waitress to be Savannah and asked for a refill on my soda and was promptly replenished. When i was ready to leave i was quickly given a to go carton. The only blurb of the night was the tri-tip sirloin. Did not like the flavor or texture. But overall loved the service which is really important to me. read more
