I came back to try MexiHibachi at their actual restaurant after enjoying their food before, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Garlic Veggie Yaki Udon, and it was delicious, the perfect portion size and full of flavor. The service was also very quick, which I appreciated. My only suggestion would be to work on making the customer service a bit friendlier. It wasn't a bad experience by any means, but a warmer interaction would have made the visit even better. One thing I really liked is that they offer a loyalty card for repeat customers. If you plan on coming back, don't forget to ask for one! Despite seeing a lot of mixed reviews about this business, I decided to try it for myself. The majority of reviews that I read talked about how pricey the items were for what you got there was another mixed review about how long the food took to be made from the time you ordered. Those are two things that I did not experience for myself today. I was able to place my order over the phone. The woman who answered the phone was very nice. In fact she called me back because I had phoned them and they didn't answer. I was able to place my order with ease and she quoted me 25 to 30 minute to come and pick it up. I sent my dad to pick it up as I am recovering from surgery and he stated that they were very nice when he got there and picking up the order was easy and efficient. I ordered the steak, chicken and shrimp with the garlic rice and vegetables. I saw they had chicken wings from the menu printout and we tried the lemon pepper- very well seasoned. I also ordered the steak and shrimp rice entrée as well as the kids, chicken, fried rice and a side of shrimp. Everything was delicious hot fresh and very well seasoned. They offer garlic butter on the side as well as Yum Yum sauce and the ginger dipping sauce that other hibachi restaurants offer. Heard about this spot from my co-worker. I was able to text the owner my order got the number from IG. While I did do this, there was still a bit of a wait when I arrived. (Probably because I ordered the wings when I got there) Anywho the I also ordered the steak and shrimp burrito! It was good, nothing extraordinary rice and tortilla with no beans, but the flavor of the hibachi made it unique! The wings were really good I had the spicy teriyaki! My husband really wanted to try this place despite the fact that neither of us usually care for "fusion" joints. After researching them online I found the food "looks" great but seemed a bit pricey for what you get. I feel like their prices are similar to other hibachi places only you don't get the full experience of watching them cook it at your table here. Ok. That's fine, maybe the taste makes up for that, I thought. It doesn't. We decided to try them out on a day we had company in town, the restaurant was nearly empty so I was surprised it took so long to get our food. After a long wait my mother and brother in law received their wraps, I didn't taste them, they said they were good but I think they were just starving and being polite because they appeared to be mostly rice and did not look good at all to me. Next came my order of soup (the daily special) and my husband's fish tacos, which looked amazing! The soup was good, lots of fresh veggies and fish but the broth was lacking in flavor. I took a bite of the fish tacos and immediately regretted it. That sauce they squirted all over them was disgusting, plus they were very hard to eat, everything was falling out and the shell just fell apart. Finally our appetizer of pot stickers came out, after our family was nearly finished with their wraps. The potstickers were actually the best things we ordered, although I didn't get a picture because they took so long to get to the table. We ended up taking the other two fish tacos and soup home with us. The tacos did not hold up and ended up getting tossed out but I was able to add a bunch of my own sauces, some sesame oil and chili crisp to the soup to make it taste better at home. I had it for lunch the next day and really enjoyed it with the added flavor. Unfortunately we will not be going back again. That's great that your establishment has the best price around for hibachi, and yes I'm aware that it's expensive and you have to make a profit I get it. That's why my review is my opinion, others may disagree as many do disagree with me and give it 5 stars, and that's okay! Everyone has different opinions. But see, that's why your Yelp rating is 3.2 / 5 stars. It means there's a differing of opinion being rated right in the middle. Based on my experience, this is my opinion unfortunately. I can go to Fusion Buffet in Concord for $29.99 for dinner and their hibachi grill section (to me) is of similar enough quality and I can get unlimited amounts since it's all you can eat. Same as the Hibachi Grill buffet in Fairfield, they also have a grill section and the buffet is $23 per person for all you can eat. My point is that a restaurant establishment in general to me, should have better quality food than a buffet to justify buffet pricing. But to me that's not the case. I don't understand the pricing for the quality of food personally. Perhaps you could have a Black Friday weekend special. Normally Black Friday is for merchandise, but you can be different and have it for food and it can be 10% off your order of $50 or more. Then you can use that data to see if you made more money from more orders even though pricing was 10% less. A/B testing. I truly wish you and your business the most success! Got food here to go and the food was excellent! The steak was cooked to my preference and the shrimp wasn't overly done and cooked just right. The gyoza deluxe was also very tasty with all the sauces on top. I do think that $30 a plate is a bit pricey, since that's the price I expect to pay at Hana Japan but I get it... it is still hibachi. I think a $20-$25 range would be encourage more ppl to come in. But overall, the food is good and fixed my craving for hibachi. The place is clean and decorative. My man has been wanting to come here all week.. we finally did and honestly fell a little short. I say it's a good amount of food for the posted price tag they have. It's fair. What upset me was that I been looking on yelp for the menu and seen that the NY Steak, Chicken and Shrimp $35 cool. I ordered it and my bf just paid and when I got home and saw the receipt is when I realized he got charged for the NY steak rice entree with the shrimp being a $10 add on and chicken was also another $10 add on.. I saw on a different review that someone ordered the same and the total was $35.. no add ons.. alright whatever.. Nothing annoys me more than seeing my bf looking forward to trying something new and something comes up messed up in his order. He got this weird thing that came up on his plate ? The food is ok...when you finally get it. This isn't a one time issue or a maybe it's just take out issue. We've been in multiple times and it takes FOREVER. I hate posting reviews. I think they are a waste of time but since I've got so much of it waiting for my food... This is now the 3rd time through DD that the wait time is exceeding well past what DD says it will take. Let's start with the artwork, as it's the real star of this restaurant. I heard one of the owners is a tattoo artist, if I was a tat junkie I'd go to him for sure! Y'all check out the walls!!! They were experiencing technical difficulties with their POS system but it's pretty easy to pay electronically with Zelle , good old fashioned green backs, or Apple Cash. I believe one of the owners was cashiering and she was so fast, accommodating, and sweet! We ordered scallops and shrimp with the garlic noodles, (of which the scallops were the showstopper for our entire meal in my opinion) and steak with chicken with fried rice, veggie/garlic noodle ala carte, and fountain drinks. Loved the flavors with the garlic noodles, veggies, shrimp, and scallops. The steak, ordered medium, was the first accurately cooked medium steak I have seen in ages, but in comparison to the seafood wasn't seasoned to its potential. The chicken was also tender and perfectly cooked, but lacked in the seasoning department as well. I was not a fan of the fried rice, it had an odd flavor of old oil and it wasn't even hot. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, however it should be noted about the steak and chicken( maybe ask for extra seasoning when you order), and an over abundance of grease. It's very tasty but pricy. Came in during their, I think, soft opening. Took a bit to get things ordered but there was a constant line. Cash, Zelle or Apple Pay, right now. No credit or debit set up but hopefully soon. They're supposed to have a bar too. My steak & shrimp over noods was $30 and gyoza deluxe was $13. I'll come back for special treats but not a weekly/every day thing. I think seating will have to be worked out, especially in the front. Tables are kinda close when someone is actually sitting down. Very underwhelming. Looks like they lowered prices about $5 so it wasn't as outrageous as what I had seen here on Yelp. My steak was very chewy and unseasoned. I guess, all of the salt went to the Fried Rice, cause that was excessively salty. Service was definitely lacking. Someone at our table ordered Edamame, 20 minutes later, she said they had run out. Always want to try new restaurants and support new small businesses. I came in on a Friday evening and place was packed with to go orders and dine in customers. I figured that with how busy this place was it must be good. Front of house staff (cashiers & servers) were friendly, young and obviously new to food service industry. Menu's prices seemed high but I had high expectations given their prices. Ordered the horchata which was a mistake. The horchata was not cold, too watery and not sweet. Definitely not what I consider typical horchata. Garlic noodles were good and probably the best tasting item and most reasonable priced, although oily. I ordered the steak and shrimp over rice and the cashiers advised I could do a half rice and half noodles mod to my order of which I accepted. I was not advised that the modifications cost $7 extra to the already $30 plate. The steak and shrimp were good but small portion of steak. The rice was decent. The stir fried noodles and veggies were quite greasy. The plate was definitely not worth $37. Three items were $50, with tax $5.03, credit card surcharge $1.50 and generous tip $7.50 (even though I ordered standing) came to whopping total (overpriced) of $64.03. This is probably my first bad review ever, it takes a lot for me to do this. But went here tonight, ordered our food at first to dine in. While waiting I saw 3 groups that ordered after me get their food, after 40 minutes sitting, no waters offered, no update from the staff. I asked where our order was and she said soon. I waited another 10 minutes and ask to change to go. The waitress seemed annoyed and kept asking if we wanted it stay. It then took another 10 minutes even though she claimed it was ready. I visited the restaurant today after calling in an order. When I arrived I paid with Apple Pay on the restaurant's tap pay powered by square the cashier informed me that the payment didn't go through. I attempted to tap again to only find out they did charge me and I showed her proof of the transaction on my phone. She called the owner who was very hostile and argumentative suggesting I need to contact my bank. I didn't mind doing so but I asked her to call her bank because it may be an error on her systems end. She refused and asked me to pay AGAIN. She continued to ask if I had more money to give her. I left the restaurant without my order and the payment of $70 still pending from my account. 10 mins later the owner called my phone and stated she contacted square and discovered it was a system wide error from the company . I asked her why didn't she contact them as I suggested from the beginning she became very hostile again. I've visited this restaurant on many occasions and spent hundreds of dollars. I even given them positive feedback and referred my family and friends to their small business. It's not about the $70 it's about the principle. In this economy no small business or business period should be hostile towards a paying and tipping customer. The prices are high but the ambiance and service are those of an indifferent take-out counter. You order at the counter and there are no menus to look at; it's all supposed to be on a big screen above the ordering window -- if only it worked. And even if it did, you can hardly read it except when you're in the perfect spot - holding up the line. It's clear that the owners opted cut costs by skipping service personnel altogether and by expecting the patrons to scan a QR code to access the menu. I did not feel inclined to save them a penny when also gambling on their expensive and poorly photographed food. While all four of us liked the idea of Mexican-Japanese fusion and were excited to try something new if expensive, the impression the place made had us turn away and head for another venue instead (may I recommend Due Rosa?) I recently found out they opened this location so we had to try it out for my boyfriend's bday. Ambiance: small intimate location, family friendly and a chill vibe. Beautiful fusion art on the walls really represents the Mexican Japanese fusion. Customer service: their staff was friendly overall. Ana I believe was her name was very chill and down to earth. Though I think if you got spicy with her she would return the favor. But I like that overall a genuine vibe. Now let's talk about the star of the show the food! 10/10 if I could rate 6 stars I would. Noodles perfectly cooked and meat was also very tender. We enjoyed everything. We got two hibachi plates one w/fried rice one with spicy teriyaki noodles ( side note they cook noodles all together w veggies and meat) and a trio of all the meats. And a side order of scallops. Scallops were good but probably wouldn't order them again just wanted to try something different. I recommend adding it your plate it's a bit cheaper. We ordered it after the fact they were 12$ still great price. The meat was cooked perfectly it was so juicy and tender. Best hibachi in town! I been to a few hibachi spots but this one is the most flavorful, the food is always fresh and made to order. The portions are really big there is always some left over so you can enjoy some the next day! I love coming here the staff is super respectful and super nice. I always order my food a specific way and they always deliver. I recommend you to get the 3 way steak shrimp and chicken with noodles. They never disappoint!
