This is one of my favorite Sushi Restaurants in Martinez! Today is 5/8/26 at 4:30pm No! One eating at the restaurant now. But there was a lot of phone orders & like me take out. I ordered our favorite dishes. 1-Spider Roll, 1- Unagi Donburi (eel) &1-Gourmet Sashimi Combo! Let me tell you all they cut the best fresh fish & cook the best eel there. It's a small restaurant with 7tables & 6 bar chairs. So eating there is pleasant w/ the K pop TV showing!! But I like the fast take out. (15-20mins wait) . The only thing last month the Wasabi was really weak! This time it was great it burn my nose clear! Now that's how I can tell good Wasabi !!! The clearing of your nose !! Love that Restaurant. I placed an order online for a quick dinner pick-up. The place was very busy on a Friday, so it was a good call-- the roll was yummy & I would definitely get it again! And my mackerel fish was cooked well, lightly seasoned just the way I like it. How are they possibly offering these lunch specials at these prices!!! Amazing value! I came with a group of friends and everyone liked their food. One friend thought the teriyaki chicken was overdone but I didn't try it myself so can't judge. I bet my kids will want teriyaki chicken so I'll definitely order next time to try for myself. I will be coming here more often. And I will bring my friends and family! This cozy little sushi spot was such a pleasant experience I got so wrapped up catching up with an old friend I hadn't seen in ages that I became that annoying customer that wasn't ready to order and completely lost track of time. We even stayed well past closing, yet the staff and cook were some of the sweetest people ever. I have been to the Yo Sushi in Albany, but this was my first time at the Pinole restaurant. My son ordered takeout and I went to pick it up. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming with Christmas lights and decorations. The service was very warm and welcoming. They even served me tea while I waited for my order. They were busy with orders for takeout and a few tables were occupied. Our takeout order of sushi came in a to go platter which was very nice. We got a large assortment of sushi and they were all tasty. I will have to try some of the other items on the menu. Wanted sushi that was close to home. Found it !! Restaurant had one other patron and a couple were placing orders to go Service was quick and easy. The menu is pretty extensive with reasonable prices and items for everyone. We ordered the golden gate, San Pablo Ave, spicy tuna and awesome rolls. All were delicious. The addition of red onion seemed to cut the richness of the rolls, while also adding a nice flavor and crunch. I had the seaweed salad, not as sweet as I'm used to but it was good. Nov 7 2025 1pm We finally stopped in for a sit down meal. The wait staff are sweet and the food presentation was awesome. I posted a couple of eye popper videos. Considering the times I feel like you get a good bang for your buck here. I'm looking forward to them getting their alcoholic beverage license. The only negative for me is the volume of the music they play. It may be turned up to mask the street noise but better to have more low volume speakers spread around than what seemed to be one loud one. Makes it hard to hold a conversation. read more

Our damage: *Shooting Star Spicy roll: my favorite of all of them! Flavorful with great textures from the crispy shrimp and buttery fish. *Ichiban roll: love Hamachi and this one had fresh flavors with the avocado since it isn't covered in sauce. *Deluxe Crispy: tasty and I appreciated the fresh toppings of radish and crab to counter the crispy components Really generous portion sizes and great value with the affordable prices. Yay another sushi spot in my hood! Although it's a chain, I was pretty impressed with the Yo Sushi that opened up in Pinole. I've been to the Vallejo one when I was younger and though it seemed like "takeout sushi" it was my quick fix for my sushi craving. Location is in a small plaza on San Pablo Ave in downtown Pinole. Small cute modern resto with very nice staff and very tasty rolls! The menu was pretty extensive - appetizers, sushi, bento boxes, udon/ramen. Hope they add green tea ice cream in the future. I ordered 2 rolls- they were delicious and aesthetically appealing. Their sushi chefs are Highly recommend the following: -Starry Night - shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, salmon and lemon slices -Ichiban- yellowtail, unagi, avocado, cucumber Prices were decent (cheaper and bigger than the rolls at the Happy Ramen and Sushi spot down the street) and the service was prompt. I ordered a combo of tuna sashimi, Saba nigri, and goza. The combo is served with rice, salad, and soup. The fish was fresh. The slices were thick. I suspected I tilted the plate, so the order was just a little mixed. I was disappointed that they did not put the soup and salad in the bag. served. Yo Sushi's are franchises. They are popping up everywhere. This location has a small lot that is shared with several businesses. I am going to try them again. I need to try the salad and soup to see how they taste. Recently moved to Hercules from Concord and was on the hunt for a new sushi spot .. Yo Sushi it is! Not only is it super close to home, but the prices are affordable. Ordered an almost perfect check for only $55! We ordered their agedashi tofu as an appetizer, their combination dinner and rainbow roll for entrees, and green tea cheesecake for dessert. They even serve complimentary hot tea which is perfect for the colder weather. On top of the affordability, the quality of the items were top tier. The fish was really fresh and everything came out steaming hot. The service was top notch as well with the servers ensuring drinks remained refilled and dishes bussed off the table. I have been a fan of Yo Sushi for years and I am so so happy to have them right down the street now!! I asked the staff and found out that this one is affiliated with the Alameda location. Unlike other Yo's this one is sit down/table service vs ordering at the counter which I liked. They have about 10 tables in their cozy location. Our server was still learning, but great! Now onto the food! We Ordered a Monkey Ball, an Awesome roll, and a lunch special to share between mom and I. Descriptions and what I thought below Monkey ball: spicy tuna and crab covered with avocado and deep fried! Delish! And a bit of a twist on the version they have in Alameda that i love. Awesome Roll: crab and deep fried shrimp inside. Unagi, spicy crab, avocado, ebi, green onion, tobiko. We made a slight adjustment and replaced the ebi with extra unagi for a dollar more. We both really enjoyed this roll. Lunch combo 3 items: Salmon Teriyaki- tasty Sashimi- great quality and yummy! California roll- tasty and not skimpy on filling like some places. And it came with Rice, miso Soup and Salad! Very good bang for your buck on this one @$18.50! Whether you have been to a Yo sushi in the past or you are a newbie- stop in and give they a try! I tried this restaurant for the first time a week ago with my wife and son. My son and wife been before and enjoyed it. When we arrived, the place was almost full which is a good sign. We all ordered the Bento box dinners which came with soup, salad, rice and your choice it three other items you can chose from meats, tempura, and sushi's. The soup was good and the salad was cool fresh but I didn't like the dressing that much. The food was good but not spectacular. My dinner came out last which was about 20 to 15 minutes after my family was served. The service otherwise, was excellent. Our orders was taken immediately after we were seated, and the serve always came around to refill our glasses with water and tea. I would rate this restaurant 3.8 if not for my unagi roll. The unagi roll was disappointing since I could not really taste the unagi. It had more avocado than unagi. If this was improved I could go to a rating of 4. We came at lunch time around 12:20 pm. The staff was friendly and took our order immediately. There are seats for up to 35 people where you could seat 1-4 people easily. For larger groups you may need to put tables together. We ordered vegetable tempura for appetizer - the batter was light and crispy and the vegetable was cooked just right. We tried one order of saba nigiri, this was fresh and had 3 pieces for the serving. We ordered spicy tuna roll, rock and roll (unagi roll) and poki roll, and spicy hamachi roll. All the rolls were fresh and delicious and the presentation was so nice. I also liked the seaweed salad and micro greens they used with the rolls. My only disappointment was the rock and roll (it needed more unagi). I will be back to try other items on the menu and hopefully the rock and roll will improve read more

I've been a loyal fan of Yo Sushi for years, especially their Martinez location, which has always been one of my go-to spots for fresh, flavorful sushi. I've recommended them to countless friends, so I was beyond thrilled to see they've opened a new location right here in Pinole! I visited the new Pinole location just days after they opened, and I'm happy to say the sushi is just as amazing as it's always been, fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and while they're still getting to know the flow and culture of Pinole, I have no doubt they'll find their rhythm soon. One suggestion that I think could be a wonderful fit: Pinole has a vibrant Saturday Farmers Market, and it would be fantastic if Yo Sushi could open earlier on Saturdays to catch that crowd. It would be such a treat for market-goers to stop by afterward and enjoy some excellent sushi just steps away. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant is nice and clean. I ordered Chirashi ($18.95), Sashimi over sushi rice. Comes with miso soup and salad. Came here looking for good Japanese food and was pleasantly surprised how good the food was and how fast the service was. We arrived around 5pm dinner for 2 and were sat right away. We were offered complementary tea and water, nice start :) Menu was a nice size with options that include soup salad and appetizers. Love that! The ambiance was relaxed but good enough for a date night. We both ordered chicken teriyaki, veggie tempura, gyoza and an additional side of edamame, photos included to help the viewer. The only thing I think could need a bit help was the chicken, it was too pale for my taste with very little teriyaki sauce so I ordered a side of sauce. Honestly, this is the best sushi place in Pinole. Most sushi around here is pretty mediocre, but this place really stands out. Everything I've had has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every roll looks like they put real thought into it. The staff is friendly and attentive every time I've gone. Service has been consistent -- helpful without being overbearing. Prices are competitive for the area and feel very reasonable for the quality. I live in Pinole, but we've been going to Yo Sushi in Vallejo to pick up our to-go orders. So I was really happy when I saw the "Coming to Pinole!" sign go up! I went in a couple of days after they opened and right away noticed this Yo Sushi is a bit different from the others I've been to. They have a few tables and offer table service it feels more like a sit-down restaurant, instead of the usual to-go/self-service style. We ordered our usual, the Chirashi Sushi. Even with the food, this location seems to have its own style--the way the sashimi is cut, the arrangement, portion sizes, and even the prices (which are a bit higher than the Vallejo location). That said, the sashimi itself was fabulous. Super fresh, no fishy smell at all. The hamachi (or it may have been Kanpachi?) was buttery and literally melted in my mouth. The to-go container was beautifully arranged with a nice touch of an orchid flower. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately, the sushi rice missed the mark for me. It was too vinegary and a bit salty, which overpowered the sashimi. The rice should complement, not compete with, the fish. Still, I'll definitely give them another try in a few weeks--it might have just been an off day. Really glad to have Yo Sushi in Pinole! read more
