I usually buy several items from silver ocean but I was doing laundry and just wanted a snack so I ordered the salt and pepper chicken I've got it several times before it was awful the pieces were smaller and I don't know what part of the chicken they used but it was really dry the flavor was good but I really didn't enjoy it will not be getting this again

Shrimp egg foo young is good. The fluffy cakes have a ton of veggies and nice size shrimp.Eggplant is solid, but a little sweet.

Wait a minute...this restaurant not only serve Chinese food but they offer Japanese food like sushi. I would not expect simple food from both countries. I dine at this restaurant due to doing my grocery shopping at Raley's. I had Sesame Chicken...delicious and simple. Inside the restaurant is quiet. Their TV is on Headline News. You can watch the news while eating. I will dine here again

All this chicken chow mein, and for less than $10 in 2024! I even took some noodles off the top already!

Still the best value in town for Chinese food and sushi. Where else in 2024 can you get a whole order of chow mein with meat for less than $10? The menu is pretty extensive and the owners are very friendly and hard-working as well. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

Food and service excellent ! Great find and close to home. They have a new frequent customer.

Hong Kong style pan fried noodles with assorted meat, shrimp and vegetables. Mmmmmm!

This place is 5 stars, as always. Wanted to get some good takeout during SIP 2.0 They do a really good job on the Hong Kong style chow mein, which is chock-full of different kinds of meat, shrimp, and vegetables on a bed of crispy pan fried noodles which stayed crispy on the ride home! We also got the garlic eggplant which was so flavorful and the tofu beef which was delicious with a rich gravy over soft tofu and tender beef. The service here is always great! They are bright, friendly, fast and efficient. I asked them to hold the salt on my food and they did. This is a small family business which is so deserving of support during shelter in place. Please patronize them, their food is so good, authentic, and the service is superb. I hear that their sushi is fantastic, hubby will probably try that next time. Will definitely be back!

The food is freshly made and well prepared. Could use a better proportion of meat to vegetables.

Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting. If you haven't tried Laotian food, give Sue's Kitchen a try. try some new flavors and you may just become a regular (if you aren't already). The owners are friendly too! It's a husband-and-wife team!

My parents came here last year and said the food was good BUT the crab fried rice was fishy so... I decided to just get regular fried rice and chicken wings. I was really looking forward to it since they have such high ratings but boy was I WRONG. My dad even called it, "I don't trust ordering from restaurants within 45minutes of them closing because they like to rush it." Also, "15 minutes seems too quick for them to cook the food" Well yeah my dad was 100000% right! The chicken tasted as if it was cooked then REFRIED. The meat was dry as he**. The skin was too hard and just unpleasant. The fried rice was disgusting. It didn't even taste like fried rice. If anything it had a weird taste and a dash of pepper. My mom said it literally tasted like BENS RICE OUT OF A BOILED BAG! No eggs even were in it! I'm just so pissed because this was supposed to be our dinner after an 8+ hour drive. I will be calling to request a refund since they closed after we received our food back at the hotel. I had to just throw the whole thing away! Yeeeeeucccckkkk

I love that the restaurant is spacious and that there's an essence of coziness to the space. The service here is decent -- there have been multiple times where my party has had to ask for things because food or drinks were coming out too slow or were forgotten. There's definitely room for improvement in that arena. Food is delicious here, and I particularly love the sweet and sour pork! House fried rice and beef broccoli here is also amazing. Although I've had better honey walnut prawns, the ones here are still good (just pricey considering I prefer other places over it). Portion sizes are huge, even for sharing among 3-4 people. I recommend eating here with a fairly large group - you get your best deal when sharing the cost (and eating) together.

If you're in the mood for basic, good Chinese food, this is the spot. Especially good is the sizzling rice soup... if you eat it there, the rice has a very nice sizzle. I think the "3-star" Yelp average is correct for this place…read more On a Saturday evening, I drove up to Pinole just to try the Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup at China House. It was near 5pm, and the dining room was empty. They said most of the orders were for takeout and delivery. So I was seated right away, and they offered me hot tea. So I ordered the Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup, and also "Salt 'n Pepper Prawns" as listed under House Specialties on their menu. For $15.95, it's a huge bowl of soup. It could be enough for 2-3 people. Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup is fried won ton in thicken egg drop soup. I added pepper and a splash of soy sauce, and it was perfect. Grade (4/5). However, the Salt 'n Pepper Prawns were not perfect. They were served deep fried, with jalapeño pepper slices. I asked for "in-shell." So they were deep fried with the shell still on. That usually means they'll have more flavor. These prawns were mushy and had a slightly fishy aftertaste. This suggests that they were frozen and not fresh. China House didn't season them enough to mask the off-taste. Other restaurants add a coarse salt and maybe a dipping sauce. The batter coating tasted fine, but the prawn itself wasn't good. Grade (2/5). Service was prompt and attentive. Restroom- 1 Women's restroom, and 1 All Gender. China House has a big screen TV, and they were showing a basketball game ( NY vs Houston). Free off-street parking lot
