I don't know how you can hate on Sizzler! I have never had a bad experience here, nor do I have unrealistic expectations...maybe that's why! I have never seen this location unkept and I always receive good service. The food is consistent, it's always good. It may never be great, but I'd expect to pay more for greatness anyway. I do recommend upgrading your steak every time, unless you like it medium rare. Anything cooked to a higher temp usually results in a child-sized portion. And request the garlic cheese toast! Those new school rolls just don't compare. The salad bar is a good value as an add-on. Though I tend to focus on the chicken wings and ice cream whenever I order it. That's ok right?! read more

We had the worst experience today. Steak was small, over seasoned, and chewy. It's uneatable. Fried stuffs like shrimps and chicken wings are over-cooked and dry. Ribs are over-sauced. We couldn't finish our meal and ran away. I know we could ask servers for help but we didn't want to go through all the trouble. We never had high expectation for Sizzler. I don't remember they were this bad before. Maybe they were too busy about the coming birthday party reservation. However, what we had today, makes us not going back again. read more

I haven't been to Sizzler in a while, but I must say that my most recent experience at this Sizzler was horrible. The tables were dirty, the floors were dirty, the areas around the food were dirty, the bathroom was filthy...and when I say filthy, I mean FILTHY. To the point that there was some much toilet paper and paper towels on the floor, my kids and I tracked some out on our shoes after we came out of the restroom. My parents come here often and after visiting I was surprised that this was up to their standards. I don't know if there was a change in Management taking place at the exact time I was there, but I can't think of any excuses as to why their restaurant would be in this condition. My final thought before leaving was "how can any Manager take pride in having their establishment look like this." ...just horrible... read more

food there is typical of all sizzler resturants. this branch though, could never get how i want me staek cooked. it seems as if they could only cook well done staeaks. anyways, its okay becasue the staff here is very friendly. one time our waitress gave us another bag of popcorn shrimp (endless popcorn promo) when we told her we wanted the check. on the other occation, the waitress was already familiar with us, she gave is 10% off the next time we visit. i like this branch. i wouldnt mind eating here if i go hundry and dont want fast food. read more

Now my pleban eating tastes are revealed. It was very warm today and Mr. R. and I decided that we deserved a meal and a movie. Thinking of the restaurant with the best air conditioning, this sizzler came to mind. Sure enough, it was cool as a cucumber. Mr. R. ordered the fettuccini alfredo and I chose the malibu chicken with the salad/taco/wings/fruit/soup bar. There were people at about ten tables and one waiter for the entire room. The waiter did a good, if somewhat frentic job. There is something that is just plain delicious about the malibu chicken combination of chicken breast patty, ham and swiss cheese with their Malibu sauce. The salad bar was pretty good, the fruit was great and their chicken wings were just a cup above the usual over-cooked, dry chicken wings. These were crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Mr. R. enjoyed the fruit, the peaches, cantalope, watermelon, strawberries and the clam chowder (it was Friday, afterall). So, it was a cool place to eat lunch and enjoy the afternoon. I would say this is definitely one of the better Sizzlers... I thought the food was okay. Some of the salad bar items can be salty. Like the wings... my shrimp was a little salty, but with the steamed broccoli, it off-set the salty-ness. If I had to choose Sizzler, I would go back to this one. read more

So I went to Sizzler for lunch with the dad. We go every once in awhile when my dad meets me for lunch at work. I have to say this is a good choice if you want good meal and you are on a tight schedule. For anyone who doesn't know when you walk into a Sizzler there is menu on the wall that you choose an entree or lunch from then go to the cashier order and pay for your meal then choose your table at which time a waitress comes by and picks up your ticket brings you some warm buttery dinner rolls and goes off to get your food. Your options are anything from steak and shrimp to hamburgers to my personal favorite Malibu chicken which is a breaded chicken patty covered with ham and melted Swiss cheese. All entrees and lunches are served with your choice of fries, vegetables, rice or baked potato. You also have the choice to add a salad bar. The salad bar is also an option as a meal itself and let me tell you there salad bar is way more then salad. They also have beer and wine available which I would have loved to indulge in after my ridiculous morning at work but I refrained When I walked in to the restaurant at 11:50 and by the time I was served my steaming hot and delicious meal it was 12:10. This was awesome and because you prepay you don't have to worry about finding a waitress to get your check. This is not a high end restaurant by any means. It is somewhere between a buffet and an Applebee's . For lunch it is an excellent choice. It does seem to cater to seniors at lunch. Although I am not sure about any specific discounts they may get. I highly recommend this place and will definitely keep this on rotation for lunches. read more

I tried this place a few times years ago, and just was not impressed so I became a fan of the Albany location. Now that Albany closed (rental raise), one of the managers has relocated to Hilltop. And the new renovation really makes it nicer inside than before along with improved service. The food is far better although there are fewer customers (hint: staff keep an eye on the salad bar). My steak was also pretty good, but my real motivation is the salad bar. It does have wings but they were a little overcooked on my visit--still pretty good! This my first and only review on Yelp (6/1/18). I feel that I really need to do one to help the establishment out. Been there once a month or so since the one in El Cerrito/Albany closed down a couple of year back. Spend $30+ for 2 salad bars and a tiny steak (6oz?) + 2 drinks. Was told the server will bring the drinks. Server showed up, read the ticket and said we have to talk to the order taker as the drinks were not on the ticket. Long line at the order counter for me to squeeze in. Steak was okay. Salad bar didn't look or taste fresh. Floor was dirty and numerous tables were not clean up after patrons left for a full one hour and a half. Maybe they were shorthanded? The manager never went from behind the counter to supervisor his staff or inspector the floor. Ring up a couple of orders and retreat back to his office. Will Not go there anymore. read more

My latest experiance was not normal. Steak tasted terrible like it was sitting out too long, I asked for medium rare and it came out over cooked, the lobster was very dry and smaller than usual. Not sure if I will come back again as the service was not up to standard. I was also charged for something that was not ordered, luckily I checked the recipt when I sat at the table and it was taken care of by staff. My wife found a hair/fiber in her soda as well. The Siz is usually fo shiz, but this location was actually clean, fresh and decent. Today, I went to this location with one of my best friends as she lives in El Sob and needed to go to OSH and neither of us wanted fast food. My daughter loves the Siz's salad bar. Mostly, she likes any restaurant that has a buffet of any kind. We would occasionally go to the one in Albany (thankfully we moved away from here), but I was never a huge fan-I always end up over-eating and always have a sodium hangover for days due to the addictive fried chicken wings they have. Was in the mood for some surf and turf at a reasonable price so I decided to hit up the Sizzler..Dinner was delicious fast and fresh. My mom got the double lobster tails which were cooked to perfection and a super nice size. My lobster was juicy as was my steak. We had the senior Malibu chicken (with salad bar, $8.99) and the tri-tip and salad bar special, $12.99. Both of us opted for the largish baked potato. Decent selection on the salad bar. Everything perfectly okay; the tri-tip was cooked exactly as ordered. Table service was prompt. Both restrooms were untidy--not necessarily unsanitary (though the smell of disinfectant could have hidden much), but paper towels were spilling out of the wastebaskets onto the floor, something that wouldn't happen if local management insisted that the staff attend to them regularly. read more

I use to go to Sizzlers in Texas when I was a kid, but now there are non-existent! I first stepped into one in Sunnyvale and that place was just soooooooo awful! Fast forward to living in Napa, I decided to give it another go... and surprisingly... it was AMAZING! I mean... not Ruth Chris Steakhouse AMAZING, but for the price and the abundance of food? It was AMAZING! So I found this place and I have to admit... I was blown away by the cleanliness and the size of this place! Are you kidding me?? This completely threw the Napa location away by 10 folds! The salad bar was clean everything looked fresh! I grabbed a couple of chicken wings and was pretty surprised at how tasty they were! But underneath all that "glamour" - I found some very troublesome issues. My clam chowder was freshly scooped into my bowl and when I put a spoonful in my mouth, it was close to cold. My steak meal arrived before I sat down from the salad bar! WTF!!!!!! I probably would have thrown a hissy fit, but I knew I was going to take it home since my salad plate was huge and looked yummy! The service was ok. I think the waitress should have waited for me when I was at the salad bar to greet me so I could tell her WHEN I wanted my steak (like 20 minutes later). When I asked why the door was open and there was still time to order, why we couldn't order, he became impatient and proceeded to bark at us about how the door should have been locked. Well coming into this establishment before the remodel seemed a bit dated. The booths had ripped seat bottoms, tables and chairs have seen better days, etc. Once the remodel happened this place along with the food is a great combination of an affordable yet tasty dining experience. Pros: - Affordable and easy to access - Warm Dinner Rolls - Great selection on the Salad Bar (The Crab salad is one of my favorite items on the salad bar) - Has a little variety for everyone - Good for what for it is not a fine dining restaurant, but a decent one for weekly dinners without breaking your wallet Cons: - Don't expect a fine dining experience - Wait staff always seems to be in a hurry and sometimes overlook tables - Parking can be somewhat busy at times In all Sizzlers is a great place to come and grab a quick affordable dinner when one feels too lazy to cook dinner.
