The salad bar was adequate but the bad surprise was the 3 1/2 percent hidden surcharge that they hid on our check. When we asked about it and complained the cashier looked on a paper and read that it was for increased labor and food costs. When my friend said "let's go to Sizzler!" I was both iffy and confused. I wasn't sure what to expect as I hadn't been to Sizzler in years. Not only was my visit surprisingly great, the food was fantastic and very tasty! I ordered an 8 oz steak with grilled shrimp skewers. My food was hot and well cooked. Our server was awesome and we had a great time eating from the buffet. The buffet was constantly being cleaned and I was helped immediately when we needed anything out of the norm. The buffet also had gloves and everyone was very mindful of their hygiene as they collected food. We were pleasantly surprised by how great our experience was. So good then bad Only reason this place gets 3 stars is because of the staff. Every waiter and waitress that went by our table always asked how we were doing and if we needed anything (Marcos was our waiter and Katrina took our order and sat us at our table) The food SUCKS! The salad bar is ehh, I will admit that the lettuce and spinach was fresh and crisp but the chicken noodle soup tasted bland and like it was sitting in the back for too long, the noodles were pasty. I ordered the ribs and did not enough bbq sauce and super dry. My wife did order a steak and it looked cooked perfectly and she did let me try it and it was seasoned great. This mfn pass has gone down hill..I miss the old owners and staff. The service sucks.. waitress came by 3 times. The first time was to give our drinks, second time was to give only MY plate, and finally third 30mins later to bring my sisters plate who ordered the same exact thing. So she had to sit and watch me eat for 30mins, just starving. The food is unseasoned and over or under cooked. To start I'm not able to eat anything off the menus due to my diet restrictions and I also wasn't hungry. I joined my family just to spend time with them, the cashier was told 3 times that I wasn't gonna eat anything but he kept insisting on it and was insinuating that I was gonna sneak in the salad bar and eat without paying. Moneys not the issue to my reason for not choosing to eat, it's my choice for dieting. We often go here due to Sizzler having a salad bar. It's good that they have a good variety of food to choose from. During this time of year, we like going because they have soup and my team likes soup for some reason. I particularly don't. I tried the pulled pork sliders. They were really good. I also had the salad bar. Of course we also got some cheesy bread. I like that they also have a few desserts. I had some Apple crunch with ice cream on it. I also had vanilla pudding. I like that there's never a really long wait during lunch time and we can get in and out. Food is all okay. It's not great, but it's good. The service has been great the times we've gone. Having lunch at Sizzler! Had the salad bar with the steak option. The salad bar was fine, nothing new there but the new option of adding a steak to the salad bar was I thought pretty nice.....Until I was told that I could not have my steak 'to go'! Since the steak is part of the salad bar I was informed that it needs to be eaten in the restaurant. The restaurant informed me that they would make it to go THIS time but that wasn't the policy of the establishment. I do not understand this policy. Steak is not at the salad bar and it is at an additional cost. Sizzler, if I didn't like the salad bar so much you would have definitely lost a customer. You are off my top 10 list though! Well, let's get to the point. They did a fab job on the remodel of this place, with great new layout, excellent extension on the salad bar and wonderful lights, images, Large scale plasma screens and comfortable booths. They hit a homerun on the the interior remodel of this place. The food -- much better. The service - far better than before. I do know they're customer count has increased so they are packed to the limit and current service may suffer due to the demand ( but that issue, I do hope, will be cured once they can address the issue in time with more staff members) yet overall, they are taking the time to greet, shake your hand ( wow, that is nice gesture) and smile when taking an order at the new order kiosks. The food. The same menu with a few new items but overall I can say it is better than before. Fresher, hotter and I do expect them to keep up the standards. The new bread is great ( throw out the cheese bread, thank you. A pleasant waitress said some "old patrons" still insist on the cheesebread -- "really," I said. That's the old conservatives who need a good wake up call (perhaps more of a slap from their deep slumber party in the halls of yesterday) to the change in lifestyle and taste.! Ha!. -- thats too much, don't think? Nnnaaaaaa. Its almost 2013! Yet, the food is better than before. This is not Morton's but it is better. Now, my only comment is the music. They put down some hefty funds for a new Restaurant Remodel ( and it worked), and an extended menu and excellent salad bar this side of Union Avenue ( what side do you refer to, you ask?) and they kept the same music tracks from the 60's and 70's. Plllllleeeeeeeaaassseee-- tell them to update their musical taste and tracks for some more contemporary hits that play well with the current 20,30,40 crowds. You have a new, cool restaurant that is a hit but the sounds is still stuck in the old Sizzler ( that was, frankly, old, stale and perfect for an episode of Restaurant Impossible) . Change it, Update it. Make it 2012, not 1912. Overall, they did a great job. Food is better and service is better. I do expect the place to stay current with their new trajectory and liven up the steak scene on the east side. Yes, its sizzler but let's be fair and open minded -- this IS an updated sizzler. Better is, well,, always better. Give it a try when you're on the east side of town, or at a game at BC or when your lost on this side of town ( when does that happen?). read more

Don't go here after a certain time! We went here after 8 and the food at the salad bar was gross and not replenished. I guess since it was close to closing, they didn't really bother to put more. The only thing i liked was the vegetable beef soup, but it was not worth the trip. My fiance order the 6 oz steak and his steak looked very pathetic. I guess you get what you pay for because it was mostly fat and not warm at all. I guess it was leftover from the day. I'm so disappointed because the last time I went to a Sizzler was more than five years ago. I guess a lot has changed since then. I'm never coming back. read more

Hostess was very prompt and nice. I love the decor. This remodel rocks! On to the experience: I ordered the steak and shrimp linguini. I would have added the salad bar, however, at$7.99, with a meal (mind you) I knew I would only have chosen a few things! clearly this isn't adding real value for me, but maybe for someone who loves All-U-Can-Eat salad bars, this might have been the case. I love the idea of freshly baked rolls straight from the oven. Great concept; Way to go. The rolls were really delicious, BUT the butter tasted like the inside of the walk-in (had a foodey taste). Not sure if they fail to cover their butter with a lid, due to the high value demand and haste necessary to fill orders, but hopefully they cover their honey butter to ensure the freshest taste possible moving forward. $2.79 for a soda sounds pricey, so I skipped the soda and chose water instead. Ok, it's not that I'm cheap, but I like fair pricing, not gouging. The steak was great! The scampi? Drenched in wine and lemon...I couldn't eat it. They offered the linguini instead. Eh nothing special here. Their cheese bread wasn't cooked properly and was nasty. Their salad bar leaves a lot to be desired. They had a little taco station, wings, onion rings, and soups I believe besides salad stuff. Our waitress seemed to run away and we had to ask someone else to refill our drink. Our side salad took almost 20 minutes to come out. By the time my husbands burger came out I was already full from their lacking salad bar. It was supper expensive too. So I am a pretty fair and I love sizzler but there have been some changes or maybe it's just the staff they have but from the beginning it was resistance all the way, first the general manager took our order and I originally ordered a classic trio, shrimp, steak and Malibu chicken. So I asked if I could please omit the steak and just get 2 Malibu chickens, she said "oh the computer doesn't let me change it" I was like can't you just let the kitchen know, I'll pay the same price? She was like no, So then we were told that there is a double Malibu combo that's $14 and I could add the shrimp which was another $7.99, so now the plate was going to be $23!!! I think as a general manager you can do whatever to make the customer happy within reason. I don't think that was reasonable. Ok so I take the original order "classic trio" and I don't eat it all and ask for a to go plate, and the waiter comes back with this little foam box, I asked him for the plate with the plastic clear cover, he said "oh I'm sorry ma'am those are only for to go orders" I informed him they have given them to me before and all he could say "oh those are for to go plates" I was like ok.
