3-15-23 we went to this location traveling through with a group of friends. I ordered the Malibu chicken $16.99. My husband ordered a steak with shrimp $18.99. His steak was cooked as he had ordered, but very chewy. Shrimp said it was hunny/garlic. But had a spicy kick to it. My husband doesn't like spicy! My chicken was NOT fresh chicken breast which at that price I thought it should have been. But NO.. it was a frozen breaded chicken patty you can buy at the grocery stores in the freezer section with a thin slice of lunch meat (ham) and a piece of sliced cheese! Again sliced cheese that you get from the store to make sandwiches with. Terrible!!!!!! Come on $16.99??? What has our restaurant's quality of food come to?? More like fast food at a drive up window. With a high price. Terrible!! read more

We stopped here when we were in the area for lunch. We had been to the other Sizzler but the reviews were higher here so we decided to try it out. It's a nice newer Sizzler with a beautiful salad bar and nice comfortable booths and tables. Everything in the salad bar was clean and fresh and appetizing. The entire restaurant is very clean and the bathrooms were spotless. We actually ate here twice in two days because we enjoyed it so much. The Seabass entree was delicious and served with some beautiful vegetables. My husband the salads and soups and desserts bar. The food was very good. Price for one drink and one entree and one salad bar about $33.00. We will return next time we are in the area. By the way our server who was so good was named Melissa. Everyone should give the service that she does. Thanks Melissa. read more

Wow. Sizzler is great. Server is great. Food was great. Unlimited salad is great. Kale with feta cheese with Roma tomatoes was great. Ice cream was grEat. Great place to eat. Only concern: who charges for pickles. Company policy should chanGe on that. Everything else was great. Another dislike: a server was stealing toast from our server so it took longer to get our toast :(( MELISSA is a great server and she should get a raise. read more

Sizzler - Endless Salad Bar Dinner - Seafood Near Me - Bakersfield, California

Great Service Jenny J.! Server was very attentive and food was great! Salad bar had fresh ingredients and clam chowder was great!

Vicky was an excellent server, always quick w/beverage refills. Our food was good! Music was a little loud for me.

We had another great dinner here tonight. The salad and soup bar was well stocked and clean. Our server Michelle was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. She kept coming back to check on us to make sure that we had salad plates and full drinks. The taco bar and chicken wings were well stocked as well. My wife and I very much enjoyed our meal. read more

This sizzler was great. I had the steak and lobster and it was amazing but the real star of the show was my server Michelle, she helped me decide what to eat and made sure I had everything I needed. Had a great dinner at Sizzler tonight. Would have been better if I didn't hear that SIZZLER ALTERS THE HOURS OF THEIR STAFF BASED OFF OF THE YELP REVIEWS (OR LACK OF) THEY RECEIVE ABOUT THEM. This is an unethical business practice. The management at the Mount Vernon Sizzler care more about good publicity and free marketing on Yelp than they care about their truly good, honest, hard working staff. I wish I could leave a good review about the waitstaff I had but I want to protect them and reveal nothing about them that could possibly be used negatively towards them by the already selfish, unethical management. read more

Just want to thank Vicky for the ***Great***Service. She could not have been more attentive and at the same time NOT intrusive. It's like she has a sixth sense as to what your wants and needs are. Thank you very much! read more

Whenever my husband asks what I want for dinner, my prompt reply is Sizzler. I don't know why Sizzler has a cheapy reputation. Maybe because it's been around for so many years it lost its luster? Maybe the salad bar concept isn't as boujee as some would like? Maybe because some claim the salad bar got them sick? Anytime I tell someone my strong love for Sizzler, the common response is, really???? Yes. Really. And honestly, I don't care. I really do love Sizzler. Okay so yeah it's one of those places where you stand and stare at the wall of menus and than get called up to the register to pay so there's a lot of pressure and maybe some split second bad decisions. Let me help you, get a steak with shrimp skewers. And don't forget to add the salad bar. From there, you pay and than you're politely seated. Than you wait for your waiter to come with drinks and eventually food. Now let's move on to the salad bar. Oh nom nom salad bar. The plethora of foods is amazing. I bee- line for the taco section. Seasoned ground beef, nacho cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and some jalapeños. From there I move on to regular salad bar. A little bit of greens, a wide variety of topping, and plenty of salad dressings to pick from. There's seafood salad, I think Mac salad, fruit, and jello. I always forget about the other side of the salad bar because I always just think it's the dessert area (I'll go into more detail about this later...) so off to the back side'ish is where the soups, soup crackers, fried chicken, potato wedges, and Mac and cheese are. Back at the table we're served either delicious warm dinner rolls with sweet butter or Texas toast. While I'm stuffing my face with salad bar; steak and shrimp skewers come. The steak is always a nice size and nicely cooked. We're always asked if we need anything else and regularly checked up on. Not annoying check up, but enough to either ask for extra napkins or ask for a refill of water. My husband is always amazed I have room for dessert, but this is one of the places he always has room for dessert. Bread pudding with a side of vanilla ice cream is our go- to. The kids meals all come with a dessert so theyre always happy to get a cone of ice cream with either m&m or Oreo toppings. All in all, service has always been great every single time we go. The price isn't the cheapest, but take it as a biased opinion since we're a family that gets steak and lobster and/or shrimp. Plus we have 4 kids. We're always around $80'ish plus tip. I also think it's worth noting, Sizzler went through a remodel several years ago. Maybe if it's been awhile since you went you may think of it drab and dreary playing sad elevator music. Now it's bright and cheery with tv's and excellent staff to match. It's worth checking out. read more

We eat at Sizzlers on Mt Vernon Ave often and have never been disappointed. Our server tonight was Phoenix and she was awesome. BTW, we saw the most awesome looking Cedar Plank Salmon being served to another patron. Will definately try that next time. Also, to correct another post, adding the all you can eat salad bar is $9.99 when added to a meal. Regular price is $18.99 and seniors get a free beverage. The salad bar includes lots of hot items and all we usually get. Thank you for the great service Phoenix. read more

I mean wow, where do I even begin. It's hard to find a dining experience that truly speaks to your soul on the level I just had here at sizzler. I've eaten at some truly great restaurants in my time but OH. MY. GOD. I have never had food and service as good as this in my entire life. My server Amanda was such a doll. So attentive and caring with a great attitude. But don't even get me started on the food. That steak and Malibu chicken plate was "BUSTIN" as the kids say these days it was some of the best action I've had in years. They say you can't fall in love with food, but after yesterday I'd beg to differ. But the holy grail, what some people would die for in life was that salad bar. There's only 3 guarantees in life; Death, Taxes, and the Sizzler salad bar making your knees shake as you make that amazing walk to grab your plate. I mean what more could you want in life? Fresh lettuce, perfectly crispy bacon, the cheese that feels like it's fresh from the cheese gods, the croutons, the onions that are so crispy and crunchy what more could a man ask for in this world. I haven't been this happy since I finally got divorced from my ex-wife so I will definitely be making a return to sizzler! Thank you sizzler for making me a happy man again! read more

This place is really close to my job so every now and then I pass by to have a meal and to this day I have never left unsatisfied, the waitress Vicky is always in a cheerful and bright mood and always on it when it comes to meeting people's needs, the service is just as great as the food and love the motivation from all the workers trying to meet the people's expectations. The food is just as great, they have some really great meals for people with different tastes and always meets expectation when it comes to the flavor, I would 10/10 recommend this place as a great spot after work or a celebration! read more

Vicky is always awesome everytime I come here. She's always checking to see if I need any drink refills & asking how the food is . Also clearing any dishes from my table. some of the other servers need to learn from her. Keep up the awesome job Vicky. read more

Ambiance was updated for Sizzler! Food was enjoyable and service was existent. I would recommend for a quiet night out! Salad/soup/spaghetti/chicken nugget and wing bar was a treat; followed by ice cream. It's just as expensive when you add on the fun stuff - as anywhere else nowadays. However, I did enjoy the fresh salad bar :-) read more

Food was awesome and Vicki our waiter did an awesome job of serving us I will go there always

We been not to Sizzlers since Covid and the last few times we went, my steak was always overcooked and even after sending it back, it wasn't right. So yesterday my husband and I decided to go and try again after 3 years and we were greatly surprised. My steak was perfectly cooked, big shoutout to Diego the cook ( please never quit ) and a big shout out to Vicky our waitress, which been on top of everything and gave us an outstanding service. What can I say I love buffets. The salad lunch bar is super awesome they have so much food to choose from even if it's just a salad buffet. They have a large selection of already made salads and you can customize your salads as well. They also have a taco bar and it's awesome you can make tacos or nachos. They have a soup bar and a tiny pasta section. It also includes desert! read more
