This place was pretty bad. I had several issues that made me have a mediocre experience. First was the level of music. I left this place feeling like my ears bled more than the meat I ate. It was too loud and made it feel more like a night club than a restaurant. Second issue was the quality of the meat, I'm not sure what happened but the meat didn't carry a flavorful experience. It was either old meat, or too marinated or the worst was a gas taste to the meat. Last issue was no kimchi. What the hell man. I am serious. What is up with that?!?! No kimchi. North Koreans get kimchi! Why can't I get kimchi!? What is wrong with you. Please fix that. I'm not sure I'll be back at Sizzle. This is one of my families go to spots when we want a great dinner. This is also the place my mom takes all our significant others to treat them to a tasty meal! We always get the same thing, which is the small beef set. In the set, there are six different choice options. This means that for the first meat, you have choice between two, for the second meat you have two new options. For our set this is what we always get: beef brisket (my favorite!), rib eye, marinated short rib, marinated thinly sliced beef (my mom's favorite), and the soy bean stew (the last option is a choice of stew). Pro tip: eat the brisket with the radish paper... this was suggested to me by my friend once and now I never eat brisket without radish paper. In this restaurant, the waiters cook your meats and they are very attentive to cooking at your table as well as cooking at others. They also are very good at making sure that you are satisfied with what they are cooking. The sets also come with many different side dishes! They will replace them for free and there is a large variety of them. You also get two different salads and a steamed egg. So LOTS of food! We also always get the shaved ice for dessert, because we all have dessert stomachs! The red bean is our favorite! Also their pork dumplings (mandoo/gyoza) are DELICIOUS! The food quality was . Service !!! Both female servers were on top of their services. Wow. Can't compliment enough. The maybe-boss-lady was so friendly, attentive to their customers even though they had so many customers and remembered what customers want and request for. The younger female server was also super friendly and fast with her service. She also packed a small to go box of side dishes for us to take home . I was so touched. Food was good. Just a small update on my review. Korean food here is absolutely top notch for AZ's standards. While it may be a little more on the pricier side, I'd say it's definitely worth it. While it's not all all you can eat (AYCE), the quality of the meat and sides are fantastic. I've been to both sizzle locations and this one is a little less chaotic. The Scottsdale location has more of a party celebration vibe since patrons over there drink more. Needless to say, I'd come back here if I'm craving some top notch Korean bbq. Wow...It seems like such a fun concept, but try as you might to enjoy it, this place will suck your enthusiasm straight out of your body. Starting with the confusion of whether we wanted table barbecue, or traditional service, we were new to this, and made to feel like we should have done some homework before we arrived. But a cursory view of their subpar website will leave you even more bewildered. (We aren't as dumb as they look. Four college degrees between the two of us.) Followed up by a harsh dressing down for sitting at a table barbecue when one of us wanted table barbecue and the other soup. Again, no one seems to cue in the newbies. Dozens of accompanying dishes are served but not indicated for consumption. So the chef / pouting emo wonders aloud why we haven't eaten them. Order another beer for me, this is painful. We ordered a meet-cooked-at-table entree and a soup. Not bad. Once I felt like I had permission to eat it. The coup de grace came when we offered our coupon from desert ridge marketplace for a free desert with an entree on your birthday month. We were told that they had never encountered such a certificate. A conference of no less than four employees gathered, like MLB or NFL replay umpires. They determined that they would give us one, not two as such we were entitled. The general glum attitude and the less than patient approach to outsiders makes me cringe at the thought of coming back. Excellent customer service, decent food, and good vibe! I was here with my husband for dinner. The restaurant wasn't so busy, so we got seated immediately. Our server was fantastic; very attentive. We ordered the Pork BBQ combo with two sides of rice, soju, and lemon soju cocktail. The BBQ came with a good spread of sides. Fish cake, pickled turnips, salad, two dipping sauce, salt, steamed eggs, kimchi stew, and some other items. Sorry, I don't know the names. It was surprising that they didn't give rice as a side. So we ordered it. Also, we asked specifically for kimchi and soybean paste, which they happily provided. However, the kimchi felt like it was from a jar. Out of all the sides, the kimchi stew stole the show. It was hot, spicy, tangy with small pieces of pork and chunks of kimchi. Our server grilled the meat entirely. The BBQ tasted delicious. Well, seasoned pork, cooked with those red dipping sauce was just amazing. The pace of grill and serving didn't feel fast or too rushing. Overall, an enjoyable dining experience. So this is a great find. I've been to dozens of Korean BBQ places over the years and this one is legit. More than legit. The quality of the meat was impeccable and the sides were incredible. I had the seafood pancake appetizer and the kimchi rice. Both were incredible. I didn't know that the seafood pancake had squid and I hate squid. Not this squid...the small squid bits were actually chewable and flavorful. The flavor of the pancake itself with the light sauce was perfect. The beef selection was great. I have never had beef cheek (sounds nasty doesn't it?) but it was as close to bacon as bacon. My wife is allergic to pork but this was so bacon like it was satisfying. The bulgogi styled beef was deliciously seasoned and so very tender. The steak was worthy of a great steakhouse. The soju lemon concoction was so very refreshing it needs its own review. Fresh lemons floating in a tangy soju lemonade was fantastic. Overall this is now on my list of must go-to places in the Valley. read more

Had a really tough time deciding a review for this place but ultimately the service outweighed the food. I was in town visiting for a weekend with my boyfriend, we wanted a quick bite to eat because some of the dishes looked awesome, but we had eaten a late in the afternoon so we weren't planning on the whole works of K-BBQ. with decent yelp reviews we knew we'd be in for a treat, or so we thought. We shared with out server that we wanted Kimchi Fried Rice and an order of the Korean Dumplings, she scoffed took away all of the goods for the hot pot stuff and thats when the experience flipped. The server/possibly manager wouldn't give us the time of day, when we walked in she was as pleasant as ever. She had food runners drop our food, didn't check in once, didn't refill our empty water and quite frankly was so rude. She dropped off our check and didnt come back after that. The last time I checked, a paying customer is better than no customer at all. We were planning for dessert but the service turned us away and we went somewhere else. The food itself was very good and I can imagine the K-BBQ is very great. Unfortunately I would never return here after the experience left quite the bad taste in my mouth. read more

Yuuuum! This place is so good! There was a bit of a wait, but they call you when your table is ready so you can shop while you're waiting instead of just standing around outside. Normally we go to a Kbbq place closer to our house but I'm definitely glad we drove up here. The sides were already placed at our table when we were sat, and they have water at the table so you don't have to wait for water. That was perfect bc it was so hot outside. The server cooked the meat at the table and asked how we liked it cooked prior to starting. He was very pleasant and attentive even though he was busy. The meal was served with a steamed egg, and it's kind of similar to tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) but less sweet, more savory. We had dumplings-the mini loved them. The japchae was also good. Don't miss out on it. The sweet potato noodles were cooked perfectly and the dish was seasoned perfectly, not too overwhelming with the sesame oil. I wish I had more right meow. We also had the seasoned boneless short ribs "jumulleok" (my favorite) & bulgogi and it was so tasty. I can't wait to go back and eat more. I'm legit hungrier while writing this. I must say, the last time I dined here with my family, I was disappointed. We've been plenty of times and never had a bad experience. This time though, they enacted a new policy where they only brought out a select rotation of sides to accompany the meats. Unfortunately, my favorite side, potato salad was not among them. I asked if we could order some but was told that the sides were on rotation, and wouldn't be available to anyone until these sides had been finished. Of course, I love Korean BBQ for the meat, but one of the main reasons I come is for the potato salad. We checked again twice, toward the middle and end of the meal. Rebuffed both times. I don't know if we'll be back to this location if they can't bring their customers a simple order of potato salad. Quite disappointing. read more

I was surprised that didn't have more of a variety of banchan but what we did have was delicious. We tried a spicy stir fried squid and that was surprisingly good. For a Korean BBQ spot that is in a mall, they did fairly well. Let me break down what was sampled and how all of it faired Did the dinner for 2 beef choices, came out to be $64 with few other sides like the kim chee fried rice and seafood pancake total was $93 for 2 people, did not sample any alcoholic beverages but there was plenty to choose from (soju everything). This is what was sampled Thinly sliced brisket - who doesn't like semi fatty meats, no seasoning but still good, slightly chewy, curls when cooked Prime rib eye - asked how you like it prepared, medium rare was our preference. Cooked 2 min on each side then quartered into cubes, again no seasoning so dip it with the sides offered the red sauce with slight sweetness had a kick definitely dip and devour each bite. Marinated short rib - anything seasoned is a god send, try this meat you can't go wrong not over powering made just right, semi fatty, heavy on marinade but when cooked slightly muted, delicious on every bite Thinly sliced beef - again more meat the fat on this cut reminds me more of shabu style cut meat for this option, unseasoned, dip in that red sauce or the sea salt The tofu soup was piping hot with a bit if a kick, to me it had a slight odd after taste but I guess depends on your taste palette, comes with the meal so I would sample this again, let just say its different and difficult to describe The seafood pancake - fixture on Korean breakfast apparently, literally an omelette with seafood and dip in the middle of a muted version of soy sauce, meh, pass for me next time The kim chee fried rice - taste wise you can taste kim chee on every bite, heavily seasoned, with an overeasy egg on top, if you like kim chee this is perfect for you, for me I love rice so I could not pass it up, I would order this again The sides - number of sides that are infinitely refilled, the salad was light and airy, the pickled options were interesting, I do not know all the names but all i sampled were good, the pickled onion sliced paper thin was refreshing, sesame seasoned tofu interesting, again to many to list. Honestly I am came to this place a few times now so I know it's how they work 1. Drinks , they should sell alcohol at all ,$15 for juice is too much 2. The salad bar this is what annoying me the most there , you charge $76 for the food and you are saying unlimited salads , why don't you refill the salads ? And when you ask them they are ignoring you like you never asked , making you feel like a free loaders 3. The meat is good and you can get full that's why I kept going but the service is just awful I hope they will read this post and learn from it I spent $1000 or more in 2020 there and they lost a customer over a salad bar that they offer for free read more

This is my favorite Korean barbecue ever. I eat at both locations (Desert Ridge and Downtown Scottsdale) and I have never once been disappointed. It's more on the pricy side, but the meat is always so good and it looks so fresh. It is worth it. There are lots of places where you can have cheap all you can eat Korean BBQ, but the meat isn't that good. I made a reservation for a special gathering two months ago and confirmed 3 weeks before the event. The manager even called the day of my reservation to confirm my party of 10 people at 7:00pm. When we arrived at the restaurant only to find out they all the tables in the restaurant can ONLY seat four people. They wanted to split our group up in three tables and in different parts of the restaurant. They said we could wait 60-90 minutes if we wanted to have two tables next to each other. . A little stroll through Desert Ridge left me a little hungry so I thought I'd give the Korean BBQ place I walked by a try. I was legit blown away, I'm unsure what I was expecting, but the experience was far nicer than I anticipated. This isn't a drop in and get a quick bite (I mean it could be if you did the non-bbq option but where's the fun in that?) So, we opted for the BBQ option. We did the beef combo. WORTH IT. Literally every new item was tasted was DELICIOUS. You get refillable apps (we also ordered the Korean pot stickers, yum). We also did a berry blast monitor (careful those things will sneak up on you quick!) Our chef was friendly and informative and made pairing suggestions, all of which were amazing. We also did the kimchi soup. Which came out boiling hot but so delicious! I've been to Sizzle so many times over the last couple of years and keep coming back as the food and overall experience is so good especially if friends or family are in town. One thing to call out though if you have been a regular for a while is that the prices seem to have gone up significantly!! with the beef combo now over $100 for 2 people. I definitely had a bit of a shock when a meal for 2 was over $180 for a 2 drinks, Korean dumplings and the combo for 2 compared to what we paid a couple of weeks previously but appreciate things are getting more expensive. I'll still go back to Sizzle but at that price not as regularly as I have previously. If you do go though, I do recommend the Korean dumplings, beef combo and strawberry lemonade soju. read more

Located in Desert Ridge Marketplace..this is a delicious spot to dine. I have been here a few times and each experience have been excellent. I highly recommend the potstickers - thick, fresh and delicious! Take your time and enjoy all the wonderful flavors of side dishes and meat. The Galbi is very good. Allow me to preface this review with the fact that I travel a lot for work and have been to dozens of Korean BBQ restaurants along the west coast, especially California and AZ. I am a classically trained and certified Chef with over 20 years experience in the Foodservice industry. The meal I just had at Sizzle Korean BBQ located in Desert Ridge may be the worst value of any meal I have ever paid for. To add to the feeling of being ripped off, I feel like my family and I were taken advantage of considering you don't see the menu (QR code menu only visible from your phone) or prices until you sit down and all of the typical Korean BBQ side dishes are placed in front of you before you order anything, my guess is they want to trap you into feeling bad about leaving once you see the crazy-high menu prices. Be prepared to pay 3-4 times the price for the same quality and amount of food you'd find at at any other KBBQ, but for no good reason. To add insult to injury, the server cooks the food for you without asking, which in my book is considered "hibachi" -ie. Benihana. The menu claims the "large" beef combo feeds 3-4 people and costs $145. 4 of us ate this along with several appetizers and are still very hungry afterwards. At $40-60 for an additional side of meat, we decided to cut our losses and go get the rest of our dinner somewhere else. Need more reasons not to go here? -Beef and pork are the only options. No seafood, no poultry, and no vegetable sides to grill !?!?! -You get a bowl of soup with the combo, not a cup for each person, but one medium sized bowl of BOILING, mediocre tasting soup, with no good way to share it with everyone at the table. -Sides, like pickled vegetables, are very skimpy. For the money this place charges for entrees, the least they can do is semi-fill the metal ramekins they come in. I understand that COVID related supply chain and labor issues continue to drive up prices everywhere nationwide, and I expect to pay more money for a nice meal. But the owners/managers of this place seem to have either little to no understanding of determining menu prices based on food costs, if they are just outright highway robbers. I give this place 6 months top, and they'll only last that long because of the ridiculous revenue they bring in by suckering fools like me that trust they will get a reasonable value for their meal wherever they go. We wandered into Sizzle for dinner with the entirely wrong idea of what to expect (absolutely no research was done in advance). While small, this is much more of what I was expecting a true Korean BBQ place to be. The menu is relatively simple. There are a variety of cuts of pork or beef of which some are preseasoned or marinated and a few appetizers to select from. Sides or banchan and two salads are included. We chose the marinated beef short ribs, but will definitely be returning to try the pork belly. All cuts of meat we saw passing by looked to be of great quality. We were unnecessarily worried that only selecting one cut of meat would not be enough food and were happily surprised to find that we were so full we couldn't finish everything. The selection of banchan were excellent as well. There were a variety of flavors, everything was fresh and crunchy, with a nice, approachable level of heat. Unlike a previous BBQ experience we had (different restaurant), staff grilled the meat at the table for us and sliced it into easily manageable bites with excellent commentary and service. All in all, a wonderful dining experience that we were pleasantly surprised to find in an outdoor mall environment. I would definitely go again.
