Wonderful to have another Korean option in Scottsdale. Baragi is small restaurant with about 8 tables inside and couple in their patio. It was busy with one waiter yet it was run very efficiently. Service was fast and food was delicious. The side dishes stands out the most. Each banchan carefully made tasted delicious and fresh. Their spicy beef soup was spot on. The bulgogi hotpot was bit on the smaller side. Overall we enjoyed our meal. Will return to try more dishes. Highly recommend!!
My friends and I were craving Korean food while we were in town so we decided to come try Baragi out. Before stepping into the restaurant, we were able to smell the smokiness of their grilled meats from our car. It's a pretty small restaurant & it was completely filled when we went on a Saturday evening. Luckily, there was one table left & we were able to be seated as soon as we walked in. When they handed us the menu, I was shocked by how detailed and beautiful it was. Every meal was a set with their own banchan! The banchan is usually family style so I was impressed when I saw this. We ordered the LA galbi set with spicy and mild sundubu. It took around 10-15 minutes before our meals were delivered. The banchan consisted of: kimchi, bean sprouts, seaweed, cucumber kimchi, picked cabbage, japchae, & this mini egg/flour pancake. I was not a fan of their kimchi at all since it tasted very sour. I loved all their other banchan, especially their seaweed & pickled cabbage. Their soup was packed with so much flavor, it was incredible. My only complaint was that it was too salty & I had to add more water to their soup. Overall, I really enjoyed this meal! A big plus was that DQ was next door. It was so good that we recommended my partner's brother to try it out the next day.
Family style restaurant, it's clean and simple. I like it a lot. Menu is combos style, order individual meal, it comes with Korean appetizers. I would recommend to anyone who likes Korean cuisine and love clean and easy meals
We visited again and it was as delicious as the last meal. So glad to see full tables with smiling, happy faces. Rightfully so! This time after sampling my wife's favorite, their bulgogi, house-made kimchi and all the other sides that complement the entree so perfectly, we both ordered it. Fantastic! We enjoyed their refills of all their sides, ate until we perhaps should've stopped sooner, and brought home leftovers (which quickly disappeared!). Wonderful food, service and experience.
I've been to Baragi twice now with two different groups of friends, and both times were so good. The first time we went around 6 pm. It wasn't too busy when we walked in, but after we ordered, the place suddenly filled up. We were so glad we got there early. The second time was weekday lunch, and there was no wait at all. Super easy. The menu is pretty simple, but everything we've tried has been solid. Between the two visits, we ordered the Bibimbap Combo, Sundubu Combo, Yookgaejang, Dolsot Bibimbap, and Macjeok. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and really filling. I also love that everyone gets their own banchan. I'm sorry, I just don't like sharing mine. One thing I really appreciate is that the food is well seasoned but not overly salty. We didn't leave feeling super thirsty, which is always a good sign. It's a small, cozy restaurant, and the server was very nice and helpful both times. The fact that I've already been back twice kind of says it all. Definitely coming again.
This is a cozy but very clean restaurant. And you don't smell like the food when you leave the restaurant. I really dislike when I smell like food or grease upon leaving any restaurant. There's only 1 server, but it's too small inside to require more than that. There are only about 6 tables inside. The server was definitely attentive. There is outdoor seating which is very clean and well taken care of. In the winter time, it's a great place to people watch. The food was very good. And I liked that you don't share banchan with people; you basically get your own and your friends get their own. Each combo meal also came with a dollar size jeon which was nice and thin...just the way I prefer it. They don't appear to have fountain drinks and all of the drinks came in plastic bottles so no free refills. But I agree with a previous reviewer, the food here was some of the best I've Korean I've had in the area. Normally kimchi isn't that great at any Korean restaurant-too old, too soggy, just ick. Not at Baragi. It wasn't so fresh that the fermentation process hasn't started, but it wasn't so old that it should be turned into kimchi jiggae. It was just perfect. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. My soondubu came out piping hot. My friend's bibimbap was just a titch too sweet, but this place definitely doesn't cater to an Americanized palate. It's definitely for Koreans who want real Korean food. They don't do AYCE or Korean BBQ like a Gen or Manna. The tables aren't set up for grilling which was fine by me. Korean food is more nuanced than KBBQ. The menu is smaller than most places, but I'd rather come here and get a good meal than go somewhere else with 60 items on the menu that are done mediocre. I can't wait to come back and I'll be back for sure
Baragi was such a delicious place to eat at! Everything tasted really clean and well thought out. The presentation was beautiful - the dishes came out on their own trays, and even the menu was pretty. I've never finished all the banchan at a Korean restaurant before, but I did here because it was soooo good. The meat was amazing. I tried makjeong for the first time and was genuinely surprised by how clean it tasted. You can tell a lot of care and intention goes into curating the menu and the overall experience, and the owner was incredibly kind. Easily one of the best Korean restaurants I've had in the Phoenix area.
A wonderful new addition to the area! Finally, a Korean restaurant in this part of Scottsdale that offers authentic dishes, some of which you wouldn't find anywhere else within a five-mile radius. We've been here a couple times since they've opened, and service has always been warm, kind and friendly. The interior is small, but comfortably cozy and clean. Out of all the dishes we've tried so far, our top two favorites would have to be the macjeok (pork dish), and the sundubu combo with LA galbi. The meat in both dishes were very tender and bursting with a good balance of sweet and savory flavor. They are also quite generous with their provided side dishes and some of the side dishes vary per visit. The only thing about this place is, if you were expecting family-style dining where entrees can be easily shared between multiple people, this is not it.
We were so excited to have traditional Korean in North Scottsdale. Our first visit today left us a bit hesitant. The restaurant had a homey feel and our server was decent (he wasn't particularly warm but he checked on our table throughout and made sure we had everything). The menu cover is so beautifully intricate and I was so impressed with their simple menus. We were informed that they serve only dinner portions (and prices) on the weekends while we visited for lunch. We had the dak gui (grilled chicken), LA galbi, and the spicy sundubu (soft tofu stew). Each set came with banchan, rice, and japchae. Both meat dishes were yummy, and the tofu stew had good flavors. My family is usually a big fan of banchan but all 3 of us did not finish as the flavors and texture were different for us. That said, having a Korean family restaurant closer to home is definitely a plus and we will give this another shot to support local small business.
Really great service and delicious food! We kept coming back for lunch. They have many selection of meats and soups. The highlight is the variety of side dishes and the beautiful presentation. All food is in their own dishes and placed in the same big tray. The food are tasty and simple, not too complex and not too strong. The food here makes me feel like I am enjoying my food at someone house. The bulgogi soup is deliciously savory. The spicy tofu soup is not too spicy which is perfect. Chicken pieces are juicy and well marinated. I fall in love with the mini pancake - so good!
Clean new establishment. Went for lunch and unfortunately got a server who was new. She barely knew what was being offered and throughout my time had to be hailed to get water or banchan refilled. That being said the food was at best meh. All the banchan dishes were terrible compared to Hodori or Chodang. Was really sad that their japchae and kimchi were just passable at best. Their gojuchang sauche was disappointing and thus ruined my bipimbap experince.
Omg!! Wanted Chinese but lover wanted something different boy was I in for a surprise I had the spicy beef soup the last one my partner had the beef ribs the meal is over and I'm writing this and he still sucking the bones. Lover loved it even literally took mot my broth out my soup we used the soup and added it to the rice and the different sides delicious!! It's family own I mean very clean bathroom too!! They are doing great running the place they literally had to tell some people to come back later we were lucky to get our seats!! Definitely support the food was amazing seasoned perfectly . Nothing was needed and the service was amazing my glass stayed full!! Highly recommend! Great for a date lover is still eating
This Korean restaurant stands out for its cleanliness and excellent service. The seating is thoughtfully spaced, which made it an ideal setting for a private lunch meeting without feeling crowded or noisy. The food was well executed and balanced. The kalbi was thick, juicy, and flavorful, while the bulgogi soup was not overly sweet--something that is often hard to find. Everything felt carefully prepared and satisfying without being heavy. Overall, a solid choice for lunch, especially if you're looking for a calm environment, attentive service, and well-balanced Korean dishes.

We got the Tteokgalbi and LA Galbi for dinner. Everything comes out on a wooden tray and the variety of colors of the banchan and food is just visually pleasing. Happy to say that it tastes great too. Satisfying comfort food. read more

I happened to be coming out of the Dollar Tree store & caught a glimpse of this new restaurant in this center I was in. So I pulled my phone out and looked it up, of course on Yelp and to my surprise, it was Korean food, not only Korean food, but very authentic Korean food, which I love. So I moseyed on over there and ordered some food to go. I was greeted by the hostess who was very friendly with a smile. The restaurant was clean and had good energy. There's plenty of parking and a little area of outdoor seating. When my order was ready I said my thank you's & rushed home to try my meal. It was good, healthy & authentic.Im definitely going back again to try a few more dishes. read more

Baragi Korean Restaurant 11219 E Vía Linda suite d-1, Scottsdale, AZ 85259 I recently had a commercial closing at First Integrity Title Agency in Scottsdale and was visiting this office for the first time. After the closing, I looked for a nearby Korean restaurant and was pleasantly surprised to find Baragi Korean Restaurant only about four miles away, so I decided to stop in for lunch. Upon arriving, I was informed that it was already 2:15 p.m. and that I had 15 minutes to place my order. I would have appreciated a more welcoming explanation, especially if the kitchen was nearing closing, as I would have been happy to dine elsewhere if needed. I ordered the Yookgaejang (beef soup). The soup itself was decent, and the side dishes were better than decent. However, the beef was quite tough, and I was disappointed by the overall service attitude. I may consider giving Baragi another chance in the future, but my first visit left me somewhat hesitant. read more

Interesting small Korean restaurant with bento-like sets. We got the sundubu combo with tteokgalbi and LA galbi, as well as the bulgogi set. The subdubu sets were little on the pricier side, but you also get a lot of food and we had leftovers to take home. Dumplings were just ok and nothing special for the price. Banchans were decent and refilled, but not a lot of variety. Service was attentive. read more

haha very similar to my other reviews on asian food as I've galavanted across the midwest of the US, baragi is kind of a stunning spot just outside of scottsdale. while it DOES NOT COMPARE to LA's korean scene, it feels pretty deeply authentic for what it is and I'm kind of also obsessed with all of their copper bowls. we got many things, which they all do in different sets and serve with bancheon. the service WAS a little slow I will say, so that's the small ding on their end, but the food was quite flavorful and the kimchi / pickles were all really good. highly highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area! read more

FINALLY!!! A Korean spot in the area where we can satisfy our cravings for Korean food without driving all the way to Mesa/Chandler. We went in during lunch and ordered bibimbap + tteokgalbi (Korean hamburger patties) combo, dak gui (grilled chicken), and macjeok (marinated pork). The food was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked!! My favorite was definitely the dak gui -- the meat was so juicy and the marinade was so flavorful. Each entree comes with a plethora of banchan (side dishes) and a side of rice. All 3 of us needed to go boxes cause there was so much food! Great, authentic Korean food and excellent service. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes!! read more

I have seen this restaurant several times this month. I wasn't sure if they open for business or close down. Since the wall paper cover the windows. However, I gone on Yelp to see if it open. Today I decided to give it a try with a gf. The server was very nice and sweet, the food was good. Nice clean place... will go back again as well as letting other people know about it. read more

After many failed attempts at this location, I'm happy to report that there's finally a great restaurant here. I got the bulgogi bibimbap which comes with plenty of banchan (side dishes). The portion was plentiful, very fresh, and obviously cooked with love. The banchan wasn't too saucy or too garlicky. They all had a good taste and complimented the meal. Compared to most other Korean places I've been, they really stood out. The bibimbap itself was also very tasty, especially with the gochujang. It was a little bit salty, but not too much. Very solid taste all-around. For the price, this is easily one of the best meals in the area. And honestly, the service from the owner Chad made the whole experience that much better. He was very kind and attentive, and even offered a free plum drink for me to try. In my opinion, this is the best Korean food around here, and probably the best in all of Scottsdale. Small, family-owned, reasonably priced and full of flavor. I will definitely be a regular here, and I hope the business continues to grow for them. read more

I've just been to this place. From the pictures of their food, I expected it would be genuine Korean food with lots of efforts. And yes it was! The food was amazing. I ordered bibimbap and dakgogi combo menu and yukgejang. It came with lots of side dishes and the waiter nicely asked us if we needed anything so we ate some sides more. Their service was great and all the dish ware were genuinely great like I used to eat at the good Korean restaurants in Korea. I will definitely go back to this place again while I stay in AZ and this is the best Korean restaurant I've ever been to in the USA. read more
