Very nice people. It's like chipotle but for indian food. I got the curry burrito and the tikka burrito. I kind of wish they just had presents with what they recommend because it seems weird to keep asking them BUT I understand the build your own chipotle mindset. I would recommend the lentils. The tikka was more flavorful and spicy compared to the curry burrito. The sauces were also very solid and the perfect amount of sauce. We placed a call online but they still waited to make our order vs our friends who had the order ready. We got take out but the interior is very spacious and clean. Overall for two burritos was 30 dollars with tip (so 15 per huge burrito that was two meals for me). Not bad prices and taste and lovely service.

Think chipotle but Indian food and it's sort of like that. I got a chicken Tikka bowl with a lot of toppings. I mostly enjoyed it but it was a little more watery than I'd have liked. It could've been the toppings I chose though. The service was very friendly and quick. The interior was casual and clean. Overall I'd go back to try some of their other options. I think it's a great concept!

Food was delicious - the combinations they've created just seem to work well together. I tried the paneer tikka taco and the spicy alu taco whereas my husband had lamb barbacoa and curry chicken tacos. It's a husband-wife team and he's the chef behind Asiana. The flavors and seasoning were really on the mark. The front of house needs more work for sure as other reviewers have mentioned already. They're unsure, slow, inconsistent and difficult to communicate with. The family in front of us got a lot of meat but they maintained a tight hand for ours. And oh, we also got skipped over in line for them to first serve the people behind us because they were known to the people behind the counter. When it was finally our turn, they put tiny amounts of meat in my husband's tacos. This place would become a regular option for us if service could be improved a little. Overall, the portion sizes were filling and satisfying.

This place gives Indian Chipotle vibes. Service is kind of chaotic, but the staff is very friendly. I ordered a chicken tikka bowl which they filled to the BRIM. The sauce was flavorful and I loved the amount of options they had for toppings. I also ordered a Gobi 65 which they make fresh for you. The cauliflower was crispy (looks kind of like hot cheetos) and comes with some chutney. The chips and salsa were okay, nothing to write home about.

mexican x indian fusion? count me in the chicken tikka burrito is sooo flavorful and robust with all the spices great tortilla, the cilantro sauce is the perfect combo with the chicken tikka spice chicken curry burrito was kinda flatter in flavor but still good curry flavor, just more one dimensional interior was clean and open

I am a big fan of Indo-mexican fusion cuisine so when I saw this new spot show up on one of my yelp searches and had very positive reviews, I was intrigued. I would more accurately describe this restaurant as a subway style taco/burrito place with Indian elements. You can choose your own tortilla base, protein (paneer, chicken, chickpeas curry etc.) and toppings plus sauces or get a pre-designed own off the menu. We tried a few tacos off the menu instead of making our own and found the food to be quite good. Especially the protein base curries cooked with Indian spices. The guy behind the counter seemed new and inexperienced so it took him a while to put the meal together but I'm hoping it'll get better with experienc and handling more customers.

These Indian tacos were fresh and innovative--each bite was a burst of flavor! We ordered the curry taco and the paneer taco, and I appreciated that each had distinctly different flavors. It seems like they use wheat and flour chapatis as their "tortillas," which is a unique and creative touch. I loved the concept and the flavors overall. My only feedback is that one or two of the ingredients made the tacos a little soggy. If they can resolve the sogginess issue, this place would easily be a 5-star spot for me. It's a new restaurant with plenty of seating and friendly service. I'd come back to this establishment.

Some of the worst tacos I've ever had. They were overpowered by the starch in the pre shredded cheese. The place was nearly empty but it still took about an hour for all of us to get tacos (4 people). Do not listen to other reviews, this place is not worth going to at all.

I can't recommend Sivestar Indian Tacos enough! The food is absolutely incredible--each taco is packed with bold Indian flavors and fresh ingredients. The fusion of spices with taco classics is super unique and beyond delicious. Service was quick and friendly, and you can really tell the team takes pride in what they do. The ambiance is casual but inviting, perfect for a chill lunch or a quick dinner stop. Definitely a hidden gem on Hwy 71--I'll be back soon (and bringing friends)!

Great new spot that I stumbled upon! The staff was super friendly and the food was great. I ordered the chicken tikka burrito and they made the actual wrap fresh on the spot! The inside is clean and large. Would definitely return to try more items.

a bit away from central austin, but SO worth the drive!! took me out of my yelp hiatus bc it's so good & so worthy of the hype :,) the people there are the sweetest ever & the food is delish! the dining area is super clean & spacious, so it's really easy to find a table that fits you & your party. basically chipotle, if the fillings were indian food favs (paneer, chicken tikka, goat, etc.) with light, yummy, healthy toppings that perfectly complement each other & topped off with the perfect sauce options! it is a bit slow sometimes, but it's because they LOAD YOU UP!! the amount of food you get for what you pay is so worth it, totally recommend. they're also so accommodating for doing half/half on toppings if you want both at the same price point (i got half chicken tikka & half paneer and couldn't recommend it more)

Sixth Street's neon and noise are basically next door, the Capitol sits up the hill, and the whole area is packed with people, bars, and that classic Austin mix of polished downtown hustle and late-night chaos. Velvet Taco is pure counter-service: you walk right up, order at the register, and then grab a seat. There's plenty of seating, so even with a couple of kids in tow it was no problem finding a spot. The place leans hard into what can only be called white-people tacos--soft, sad flour tortillas that taste like they came straight out of a grocery-store package, loaded with every wild creation the kitchen can invent. Global mashups, brunch hybrids, burger impostors, the works. No one is pretending these are the real deal. I went for the chicken-and-waffles taco, which was actually built on a thin, real waffle instead of a tortilla. Surprisingly good--crispy, a little sweet, chicken holding its own. The burger taco tasted exactly like a cheeseburger that had wandered into a tortilla and decided to stay. We also tried the shrimp taco (fine), one daughter got the kids' chicken taco (perfectly kid-level), and the other ordered the chicken tikka (spicy, saucy, and very much in the "why is this on a tortilla?" category). Everything was okay. Comparable to Torchy's in that same creative-American-taco lane. If you're looking for a true Mexican taco, stay far away. But if you just want to play around with some decent flavors on a cheap flour store-bought tortilla while sitting in the middle of downtown Austin, this is your spot. Not my favorite. Glad I tried it. Won't be back.

The fill ratio was correct: I was able to hold it closed without really squeezing, and better, nothing was soggy to weaken the very lightly warmed tortilla. I had only stopped by this Food Truck (area) to try Desnudo Coffee, and spotted this business. I had heard some good things about Veracruz, but I was planning lunch elsewhere. Well, that other spot was CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS! Seeing my situation, I saw it as opportunity to try the options at Veracruz --- including the famous from Food Network, migas taco. I ordered 4 tacos: the migas, migas poblano, shrimp macha (!!), and the Dona Reyna tacos. All of these specific tacos were priced between $6 and $6.75 per taco, not bad in Austin, and not bad considering the quality of said tacos. As you can see from my order, I opted on the more "novel" choices and they did not disappoint; that said, I do HIGHLY recommend the two variations of the migas taco and the shrimp macha taco. Oh, the shrimp macha was so FIRE, the flavors were bold and smoky with a kiss of heat. The migas tacos were FULLY LOADED, and the scramble with the tortilla chips were flavorul.
