Really wanted to like this place for the Indian Mexican fusion but my meals have been pretty average both times I've eaten here. The best thing we had were the veggie samosas, really liked those. The dal soup was alright, lacking flavor and watery. The onion pakoda was exactly what you'd think, fried onion strings. I've had way better Shahi korma, tikka masala and chicken biryai and the jalapeño naan was interesting. It was just plain bread with jalapeños on it, no garlic or butter or anything else. Maybe I'm missing something and this is just part of the fusion, but it was not doing it for me. They do have a good happy hour if you want to come try them out! read more

A good first Nasha experience. Arrived at around 5:30pm on a Friday and there was only one other couple there. We had our choice of outdoor or indoor seats, and chose a spot outside on their wrap around patio. Tables were a bit wobbly and cement was cracked/uneven, but there was a charm to it. Our order was taken promptly! We got a lamb samosa (half off appetizers M-F from 4-7pm!), a couple of curries, a garlic naan, and a mango lassi. The curries were a little under-spiced and the lassi was a touch over sweet, but the garlic naan was amazing and the basmati rice was as perfectly cooked as any I've ever had! Portions were a touch small, but prices were fair. Our server was also incredibly kind and warm. I will definitely come back to try some other items off their expansive menu! read more

I drive by all of the time because it's in my neighborhood but never stopped before. Finally made it! My boss and I stopped in for lunch one day and weren't disappointed at all. We each got the lunch platter special and it as packed with so much food I took it home for dinner. They have a ton of other food options, so many that it's tough for someone like me who is often indecisive. The platter is great for that reason alone. Everything was flavored well and on-par with items I've eaten at other Indian restaurants. I know this is Mexican/Indian fusion sort of place and next time I am going to have to explore that avenue to see what it's all about. Not sure what is Indian, or Mexican about this place when they lack the flavors from both the cuisine. Recently went here for a birthday dinner with friends and returned with an upset stomach and disappointment. Our order: Veg Samosa 4/5 Lentil crackers 1/5 Goat Biriyani 5/5 Chile Relleno 1/5 Taco plate Paneer enchilada 1/5 I had been waiting for 3 days planning on the menu and its creative dishes but such a disappointment. The samosa was looking like an empanada (so that's the Mexican touch to it and it had Indian flavors and taste. It was not a let down but the lentil crackers just blew our minds off. It was no where close to chips & salsa replacement. It was just a regular Indian papad. Goat biriyani was an authentic Indian biriyani with ebbing flavors and spices with good and well cooked goat meat. I would totally recommend that here. Let us come to the disasters of the evening: Chile Relleno - I got the veggie Relleno and the tikka masala on the top. The tikka masala was really tasty and buttery , loved it. The fillings inside the poblano peppers were simply boiled potato and peas and they were just bland!! I thought it was just for me but it had the same with the Paneer enchilada. I came here as a recommendation from the person I was meeting and overall I thought I was a good experience. There's a nice patio with a decent amount of seating and I love how the silverware, plates and cups were metal. The staff was friendly and I appreciated how you could order from a QR code. I got the vegetable Chana masala and it was pretty good--low-key was hoping for more vegetables because there was just 2 chunks of potato and a couple pieces of cauliflower, but the flavor was yummy. The garlic naan was fire obviously. I also got a margarita and my total after tip was about $38..I know I'm cheap as fuck but that low-key seems a tiny bit steep for 3 things lol, but the food is yum & filling and the vibe was chill. I love this place! Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious. I've been a number of times now and my only complaint is that I feel like there's some kind of inconsistency in the spice levels. I love intense spice so I always go for the hottest level - 'Desi Hot'. I usually order through Doordash because I feel like they actually make it as spicy as it's supposed to be rather than knocking down the spice when I come i person. I wish I could give like 4.5 instead of just 4 but I think the spice levels should be kept consistent. I can't believe how this place went under my radar for so long! They blended Mexican & Indian food so well here. When I walked in I wasn't really sure what I was expecting to be honest but I was blown away by how nice the entire staff was and how delicious the food is. The Tikka Nacho's with cheese honestly blew my mind. They added this delicious Tikka sauce on top and the side that, with the cheese, came together perfectly. They also included some guacamole which was very good with the nachos as well. Next time I plan on the getting them chicken. The chicken Tikka Enchilada was wild, I can't believe they made enchiladas with a sweet tikka sauce. The first bite had me totally hooked wanting more. The sauce was sweet, the chicken cooked perfect and tender. It was very amazing. They had music playing which was very nice and all the staff were so attentive to us and making sure they answered our questions and were close by to help with everything. I've always been curious about what Indian TexMex fusion would work and Nasha nailed it. We started with the tikka queso, the flavors were incredible. It was very creamy and almost the texture of vegan queso, but good nonetheless. I wanted to try the "fusion" food but I got sucked into a favorite food, chicken tikka masala. I like spicy food but the server made me a little nervous by saying spicy is- well spicy. So I went with medium heat- next time I will ask for just spicy. the flavor was great but I would have loved a bit more heat. The garlic naan was incredible. My partner got a chicken biryani and said it was better than others he's had at other joints. The inside is small and cozy but they take advantage of the space well. If cedar wasn't trying to take us all out, I would have opted to sit outside. The space looks great out there. Love this hidden gem. I don't know about y'all but we got tired of going to places in Austin and having to wait to eat. We went on a Friday dinner, past 6 pm. The place was not empty, there were tables occupied. But we got seated right away. The ordering was all done thru an app. There were 3 of us in the group. You can open a tab and invite your group. Very convenient! The service is quite prompt too. I had the cardamom margarita and lamb Chile relleno with masala sauce. My companions had the tikka masala and carne asada. We all shared the chips (which are actually papadums) and chutney, and samosa. All were yum! As I am writing this a few days later, I already want to go back. :) We will be back for sure! read more

First of all, love that there is parking here! Second of all, I also really love this idea of "Indian Tex Mex" although we only really ate from the curry section of the menu, this being our first time here. That being said, the curries were so so yummy and flavorful (and run a bit hot, I wish there was an option in between mild and medium for my ideal spice level). The curries themselves don't come with any meats or proteins and it can honestly get a little pricey. I also would have appreciated the dish coming with some more rice. RUN, don't walk here. I'm visiting Austin and often seek out Indian food because it's my comfort food, and I came across Nasha-intrigued by their "Indian Tex Mex" menu. EVERYTHING is remarkable. The ambience is very casual, super friendly service, and just REALLY good food. We got- Tikka con queso- The sauce had the right amount of flavor mixed with yummy queso and some papad to dip in Saag paneer enchiladas- I'm sorry, but WHAT?! Such an innovative dish, this was spicy, cheesy, and saucy (we got it with verde sauce on top). The side salad was also extremely refreshing and crispy, and the daal paired well with rice Chicken tikka tacos- These were huge, and had so much flavor. I appreciate that they weren't loaded with bug chunks of chicken, but instead with tiny seasoned pieces mixed throughout, and so many crispy peppers To drink we tried the cardamom, pomegranate and karma sutra margarita, also tried the Sassi Lassi I wish this was in LA, and honestly, I'm probably going to eat here everyday while in Austin! read more

I love love fusion but this is anything but fusion! Disguised as fusion please meet Nasha, a hodgepodge of flavorless mess! First of service, what service! The team is NOT helpful and nor kind! The lady that serves us definitely hates her job! Being a desi, when placing order I asked for chilies as we like spicy food, and she said no we can't give you chilies! I noticed my margarita had fresh jalapeño so I ask the food runner for chilies or anything spicy and thank god he asked the bartender who then taught the server she can charge for chilies and bring it for us! The server didn't even bring my sister hot water as requested, and when we told her she forgot and the meal had ended, she shrugged and said oh well we get busy! So pathetic service! Hodgepodge food came fast but service was third class Now food: except for the steak taco, nothing else was edible! There is so much you can do with nachos and make it fusion with oomph but this had nothing! It was tasteless! And carne asada too! I mean nothing had fusion originality except the taco which definitely was edible the drink was good! So 2 stars for those two items! Everything else sucked! Place is cute! In Austin this week and met a colleague who's originally from India like I am, so felt the urge to get some Indian food. This is more like a Mexican Indian fusion but I tried sticking to some of the Indian dishes. Ordered the wings, schezuan style and the onion bhajia as a the appetizes. The bhajia was tasty, just like I remember from back home. We joked that the only thing missing was the rain. The wings were ok, I guess I was expecting it to taste like chicken lollypops so maybe that's on me. For the entre we ordered keema, jalapeno naan and paneer naan. The keema was fantastic, right level of spice and texture. Probably one of the best keema I've had in a while. The naans were terrible. They were far to think and tasted more like pita bread. We hated it for lack of a better word. Not sure if I'd come here if there are better options, but it appeared that this is a popular joint for non desi folks judging by the number of people who eventually showed up. read more

My second visit here this weekend. This place has unique fusion food and a great atmosphere. We shared onion pakora (Sliced onions battered fried with chickpea flour & spices). This is like onion rings on steroids, it comes with a delicious mint chutney. The chutney and onions were so flavorful. I had the chicken chili relleno with Tina masala sauce again because it is that good. It is served with basmati rice and guacamole. My friend ordered curry at the medium heat level and said she would go for the hottest level next time. I highly recommend this Austin gem! read more

TLDR: great food; great portion/price; mediocre/bad service. Food - Tikka con Queso: creative & delicious recreation of the Mexican Queso! By default it comes with Indian chips. A staff shared her honest opinion and recommended garlic naan to pair it with. That was definitely an amazing combo. The garlic naan was solid. I'd prefer the queso to be thicker and had more cheese flavor. The tikka flavor was quite overpowering. Carne Asada: super delicious. Lots of flavor from the pepper/onion/salsa/guac. The verde sauce was amazing. The beef skirt was well-marinated and mostly tender. Some part of it may have been overcooked though so a bit chewy. The entire dish paired perfectly with the basmati rice. Spring Mix: grocery-store quality of salad. Decent mint chutney but it didn't go well with raw veggies. Service - One guy with a mustache and a cap was very rude. When we placed our order, he kept asking "are you done?". He also seemed new, because the other staff had to show him how to use the ordering machine several times. In addition to being extremely impatient and incompetent with his work device, he got our order wrong. We first told him what we wanted to order. Then we explicitly clarified that our order contained two vegetarian tikka masala enchiladas, one with tofu, the other with paneer. He repeated the order to us before charging, and it was correct. However, when we finished all the other food, the tofu enchilada never arrived. It turned out that he never included that in our order. The other staff were all friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, one bad apple spoils the whole bunch. I now understand why many Yelp reviews complained about their service. read more

I really like that Nasha opens late. You order at the main counter in the middle of the restaurant and pay ahead. Then sit anywhere, and the food will be bought out to your table. There's also a bar there too. I had the jalapeño naan, the millionaire curry and the vindaloo curry with chicken. The jalapeño naan was disappointing. As I walked to place my order at the take-out counter, I could feel the stickiness of the floor underneath my feet (I hate that). I ordered two menu items to include chips and salsa and Lamb Masala Taco plate. Chips and Salsa- Well, the chips weren't chips in the sense one would think a typical chip would be. The chips offered here were lentil crackers. The combination of the lentil and spice from the salsa was an excellent combination. 5/5 Lamb Masala Taco plate- I was expecting the warmth, sweetness, floral notes, and a touch of heat from the black pepper a masala generally comes to offer. I really wanted to enjoy this Indian/Mexican fusion restaurant. With two cuisines with strong flavors, the expectation is that there will be some creative flavor combinations or at least general flavor. My go-to Indian food is saag paneer and with or without added cream, but theirs just didn't appeal to me. It wasn't flavorful or creamy. I gave the restuarant another go being more adventurous. We ordered the Vegetarian Chili Relleno Plate with verde sauce but received it with tikka masala that did not resemble any tikka masala I'd ever had. It did not have a smooth texture; it was very tomato-ey and bland. The curried potatoes didn't register as curried. We also get the specialty Ghati Masala Dal with medium heat. There was no heat and was bland. On the brighter side, the lentil crackers served with salsa & mint chutney were tasty. The garlic naan was fine. The regular margarita and Mexican martini were good. My friend was disappointed with the weak cardamon in the cardamon margarita, although I have a fond memory for it. read more

Family went to NASHA as a post graduate celebration. We arrived around 2:00pm. There was one person taking the order delivering food and cleaning up. The ambience of this place reminded me of a hipster/Indian vibe. We didn't realize we needed to order at the pickup area and the waiters don't come to you. When we looked at the menu, it was a mixture of Tex mex and fusion with vegetarian vegan abs meat options. There's something for everyone! I ordered the quesadilla and mild paneer masala with vegetables curry which came with rice. The quesadillas were pretty good! Seemed like they made the cheese with paneer. The paneer curry was pretty good very creamy! Creamy to the point where I felt like it was too creamy, made me feel kind of sick. We also got lassis which were great! Fresh and more yogurty def not icy but very refreshing. Since I'm not too into Indian food and not from Austin I probably won't be back but if I did live close and loved Indian food I would recommend! The lamb puff samosas were a great start but the famous fusion cuisine didn't quite do it for me. Everything was fresh and well cooked but I didn't particularly like the flavors of the tikka topped lamb enchiladas (maybe it would have been better with verde sauce?) and the korma was way sweeter than any I had tasted before. It's also a little weird that you place your order directly from the QR code at the table but a server comes around with water anyway. Wow. This place is better than expected. I'm a fan of Mexican food and also fan of Indian food. How can you make that better? Combined them! My wife and I are visiting from Washington DC. We were looking for new and cool places within Austin. We found it here at Nasha. The decorations, the steel plates and cups, And the Austin heat and humidity made it feel like I was actually in India dining at roadside restaurant (or hotel as they call it in India.) The food was well prepared, fresh, and tasty! I would recommend getting the tika queso and tika anything. My wife got the verde paneer enchiladas which she enjoyed. But she would get the tika paneer enchiladas if she could do it over again. There is outdoor seating with fan and misters. Also an effective covering to protect you from the rain. I would recommend big spray outside, just to be cautious. It was not an issue today. The curry margarita was very fresh and not made from premixed stuff. It was not overly sweet, which is great! I had to send photos of the food to my family around the country so they could see how amazing our meal was. I highly recommend and will return next time we are in Austin. We went for dinner and the whole experience was subpar. The service made us feel forgotten and unseen. The person taking orders at the counter seemed to have a hard time hearing us and missed an order of naan. The food took a long while to come out and when it did come, one of the orders was incorrect. The chicken enchiladas were not bad except that there was barely any curry, just a thin layer on top to cover it, but not nearly enough for a flavorful experience with the dry shredded chicken and tortilla underneath. Those who ordered curries thought it wasn't anything special. The tacos were just okay too.
