Lamb Puff Samosa - Outdoor dining scene featuring a tray with salads, lamb puff samosas, and green chutney, with a wooden fence and patio furniture in the background.

3.5 Food I ordered: 3/5 Value: 3/5 Outdoor patio: 5/5 Very interesting Indian/Mexican fusion. The menu looked exciting, the ambiance is chill, feels family-owned. The menu had sections for appetizers (I got lamb puff samosas), fusion (lamb tostada), happy hour. It wasn't the best lamb samosa I've had and the lamb tostada was more of the same. I kept thinking I should have tried the biryani but felt obliged to try something fusion - hence the tostada. They were really nice and attentive. I want to give this spot another chance and find other food I'd like on it! Living on the Goodnight side of 35, I just get excited with a local spot that doesn't feel like a chain. Nice to know: - parking is small but you can loop towards the gold's gym side to find a spot for a little walk

We absolutely love this place and this time we introduced someone else to it. It's so good! They have such a clear culinary point of view and show a deep-seated passion for their menu. Our waiter took good care of us and made solid recommendations. The food came out in a timely manner. We started with a pitcher of delicious margaritas and some amazing samosas. Then entrees, followed by a shared dessert. Soo good! Their Indian food is great but we tend to stick with the IndoTexMex fusion because it's so unique. And we love the vibe here. It's not a large place but there's original and colorful art in the walls and hip music coming from the speakers. It's not a fancy place. And it's not expensive. It's down to earth. And for us... it never fails to satisfy. I mean, just take a look at this food!

Worth a visit. The burrito was full of flavor and at a decent price. We got the lamb and wood like the try the chicken on the friendly servers recommendation. Would like to try the chicken next time. The jalapeño naan was tasty. It had a nice crispy bottom which I wasn't expecting.

Last Friday my friend and I did a strength and track workout at 6:30pm, and we were very hungry afterwards. We wanted something Asian and also wanted to try a new place in South Austin. I suggested Nasha, since another friend mentioned he had gone there recently. I was also curious, since I always pass by there on the way to Gold's gym. The idea of fusion Indian and Tex Mex intrigued me. There were lots of gluten-free options on the menu. I chose the Onion Pakoda appetizer: sliced onions batter fried with chickpea flour and spices, served with mint chutney. It sounded like a tasty Indian variation on onion rings, which I can never have because of the glutinous wheat-based coating. The server said it was a large portion, and she wasn't lying! It was a heaping serving that could surely satisfy my post-workout appetite. The battered onions were so tasty, and the mint chutney was the perfect accompaniment. Though I was hungry, I couldn't finish it all. The server brought me a takeout container, and I was able to enjoy the rest the next day. The onions held up nicely in the microwave, and I paired them with a homemade hamburger. The restaurant is clean and bright. One nice touch is they serve water in silver cups. I'll definitely go back and try other dishes.

How has this Indo-Mex fusion restaurant existed for so long without me knowing about it?! We stumbled upon this place while we were in the nearby area and decided to try it out. And oh my gosh, the food was soo good! Paneer tikka masala enchiladas! What a delightful concept. The tortillas were stuffed with well-seasoned shredded paneer, crunchy and topped with the most flavorful tikka sauce and fried onions. I absolutely devoured it. The chicken tikka tacos were also delicious but really, the enchiladas stole the show. I have noticed that many a times, fusion food seems more like "confusion" if the the combined flavors do not complement each other but that was not the case here at Nasha. The dishes were a perfect combination of the best flavors from both cuisines. There was only one staff member behind the counter who also doubled as the server, but service was still quick and we didn't feel unattended at any point. The decor inside and especially on the patio is also very on point with the entire Indo-Mex fusion theme.

Visited Nasha with a friend and was intrigued by the Tex-Mex and Indo fusion cuisine. Started with the onion pakoda with sliced onions battered fried with chickpea flour & spices. Served with mint chutney. Had the paneer quesadilla for my entree that was very tasty. The price point was a bit high for the portion of food, but would try other dishes. I like the variety of fusion cocktails on the menu as well.

$5 margs on Monday and Tuesday all day! Good happy hour! Fast and friendly service! Haven't tried much food here but everything sounds amazing! Cute little patio too!

The fusion was excellent! Highly recommend! The enchiladas were amazing. I got the mild and added the shezwan sauce which added the heat to my comfort level. The tikka queso and onion were great. Only reason I held back a star was it was a little pricey for the serving sizes however the food was excellent

Our server was really nice and helpful as we'd never seen a restaurant like this. The food was a really interesting and tasteful experience. We got several appetizers and a meal to share to taste a selection of offerings. The place was cute and the artwork was a great touch.

I was wondering which camp of reviews to align with - this place seemed polarizing with people either loving it or hating it. My friend and I were underwhelmed. The food didn't seem fresh, the thali had good variety but either the curry was too intense and oniony, or too bland. The naan was cold and hard, the rice was cold and dried out. We didn't even finish half of our food because it was unappetizing. We were also the only ones in the restaurant on a Thursday afternoon at 12:30pm.

Nasha is a refreshing addition to the restaurant scene brewing in the south east part of Austin. You order at the counter, but service throughout is speedy! I've been here twice now, and can easily say the Veg Samosas and Tikka Masala are my go-to dishes. The Tikka Masala is a creamy blend made from cashews, tomatoes, ginger, and onions. I love how this dish uses simple ingredients, but out of this world spices. I have yet to try the Tex-Mex Indian dishes, but definitely eye-balling those Tikka Masala Enchiladas!

Came with a few friends on a Saturday night. It's located in South Austin, right by the Golds Gym. Plenty of parking and not May people come in and out. You order your food at the bar, they give you a number and bring it right out. For 4 people we ordered 4 dishes, 1 naan and 1 app. We were nicely full after and it was $90 total! Not bad at all! My favorites were the Tikka Marsala, Samosa, and Biryani. Can't go wrong with any meat or paneer. Overall Nasha is a good spot for quick and yummy Indian food!

THE BIG: Located in South Austin in the same shopping center as Yoshiko ramen and jet's pizza. It's also conveniently across the golds gym I go to every sunday for work outs. Parking lot available. Indoor and outdoor seating available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here with the wife and a few friends to grab a bite to eat and connect. Service is typical, you get to choose where to sit and then you order at the front and the food comes out. We got the veg puff samosas, tofu saag, paneer tikka masala, naan, kheema masala and chicken biryani. All had great flavors. My favorite was the paneer tikka masala with a close second being the tofu saag. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall damage done here was ~$90 for 4 people and a ton of food. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

We absolutely recommend coming here and getting fajitas or enchiladas or Barbacoa quesadillas maybe all of the above if you bring enough people because it's all delicious! The restaurant itself is very well kept and clean. It does get a little bit loud, but that's only because it's always packed to the doors. Mama Betty's has a really fun outdoor patio space and always has great music playing. It's an awesome establishment to bring families kids Little League teams, office meetings whatever you want you won't disappoint anybody you bring. No matter who we have gotten as far as the wait staff they have all been extremely friendly, kind and helpful when it came to choosing something on the menu--everybody here has a wonderful and warm personality. They really have put together a home run of a restaurant and I hope that they stay around for a long time. Last, but not least the drinks are outstanding, and everything is very competitively and fairly priced. If you haven't tried it and are worried about it being packed come during the weekday at lunch.

Went on Sunday after Easter service because we were craving something a friend brought us during a…read morerecent meal train but felt it a bit lacking. First, the menu needs a rewrite for content and clarity. For example, buying fajitas doesn't list guacamole and based on size, single, for two and family you get more sides of rice or beans. There's no definition of how much actual meat you get and our server couldn't provide that information beyond a rough estimate. Second, the fajitas we got of family size and for two portions for 7 were not consistently cooked. We asked for medium rare and got about 25% at that with the ones in the center at a more well done. Again, the multiple tiny sides were more obnoxious than anything as it's legit beans and rice unless you want to upcharge. The cilantro lime rice tastes like nothing so skip that and go for abuelita rice which has a hint of flavor. Overall, the butter/gravy that go on the fajitas is the real winner but again a menu where you overbuy and misunderstand (that doesn't even list extras like guacamole or a simple small queso) was beyond frustrating. I would stick to them for one to possibly get a better cook.

I've driven by El Alma many times being in the Austin area, but I never went until last Thursday, and after surviving a brief monsoon, I was glad to get a few drinks and eat some good TexMex with my large party just before a wedding. The best way to describe El Alma is that it is TexMex that is Austinified. Everything feels a little more unique and special than your classic TexMex options. I started off with a Mezcal Margarita that put a little hair on my chest and got me going. My group ordered two of their Nachitos, which were these nice nachos. For my main entrée, I got 3 Al Pastor tacos on corn with a side of their rice and beans. Their pastor was served with pineapples, onions, and cilantro with limes on the side. They were great and I immediately crushed them all. I thought their rice and beans were pretty good as well and a step above the typical TexMex rice and beans. The server was pretty attentive throughout our whole visit, and I honestly have no complaints about what they had to offer. Pricing on the meal and drinks was pretty standard for Austin, and I didn't think anything really took me out of the experience. On top of that, for being in Barton Springs, there is quite a bit of parking. I would love to come back at some point in the future and hang out on their rooftop bar because that seems like a lot of fun. Shoutout to El Alma for being a TexMex oasis saving me from the MoPac traffic. RIYL: TexMex, but better than your average
