This place does show being closed on Mondays, so I guess I understand them not answering . The other time I called was the today, Tuesday , in which they say they're open. I was interested in getting my makeup and hair done for a work Christmas party. This place has decent reviews, and is right by my house. However, no one has contacted me back,so I'm now I'm scrambling and needing to go elsewhere. I figure,if you're a legitimate business, with a phone number and your business hours show as open, that you should answer the call or at least return voicemails left on your Google phone number with an Austin area code - that make it look like you're using to try and make yourself appear legit in this area. Austin has no shortage of good hair stylists, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. It is unfortunate, but that's how it goes when businesses don't respond to potential new clients. Updated review: Ally called me and explained why she didn't call back sooner. She also let me know the names and phone numbers of other stylists she's worked with in the past for similar things to what I was looking for! Pretty nice of her to do! Thanks Ally!

I'm a hard blonde to please when it comes to my hair color-I have very high expectations. Delia is the first colorist to ever make me fall in love with my hair. The first 15 minutes of our interaction was her and I flipping through pictures in magazines to find what shade I wanted, and maybe more importantly what shade I didn't want. She asked questions and made sure we were on the same page. I've never had this in depth of a 'consultation' before. It's because she cares as much as I do about my hair. She has made me a beautiful natural blonde and also a classy platinum blonde, which I thought was impossible until now. I still have depth in my color as a platinum blonde and absolutely no brassiness, even weeks later. I finally found someone I completely trust with my hair. I drive from Dallas to come see her and it's worth every penny, minute and mile.

She has been great at providing suggestions, double checks with me to make sure that I'm ok with what I'm asking and offers suggestions. Because I have long hair, my review will fit those with. But I know she is talented and can also do different styles. Check her out. I'm sure you will not be disappointed, she will make you feel comfortable and ask her anything or share your experiences. She will work with you!! Hope I have helped with your decision!! Curly girls, you know how hard it is to pick a new stylist. At worst, we get someone who whacks at…read moreour hair in giant chunks or *shudders* thinks a straight cut is a good idea. At best, we find a stylist who cuts at an angle, understands layering, and maybe dials it up with a razor for texture. I thought I had experienced top-notch curly cuts, and then Carla Estevez moved the bar. I found Carla via a friend-recommendation, and I've referred her many times since. Here's what makes her stand out in my mind: she curates curls like she's sculpting, rather than cutting them in a traditional way. My first cut, I needed a complete reshape, so she did The Usual that I'm familiar with to get reasonable layers. Then she dried it...and the magic began. Once she could see what my curls were doing, she pulled individual curls out to snip, and continued this way around my head as we talked about how the shape was coming along. Because of this approach, I could SEE what was emerging and have input. As a result, I ended up with an adorable angled cut that had lift and bounce and really put my curls in their best mode. I also went shorter than I EVER would have allowed another stylist to take me, because each step, she asked questions, and because of my response, we adjusted. It's been two years now of amazing cuts and I rarely wear my hair pulled back now...it's just too happy to be contained. If you need a curl-tamer, go see Carla. Seriously, you deserve a cut this good!

A hidden gem that feels like a retreat…read more The Garden Grotto is more than just a hair salon - it's an experience. From the moment you walk in, the space feels calm, welcoming, and beautifully put together. The staff take the time to really listen to what you want, and they give thoughtful recommendations that leave you feeling confident and cared for. My stylist was not only talented but also attentive to the little details - from making sure the cut framed my face perfectly to suggesting products that actually work without being pushy. The wash and scalp massage alone felt like a mini spa day! I walked out feeling refreshed, polished, and honestly just happier than when I walked in. It's rare to find a salon that combines skill, atmosphere, and genuine customer care at this level. Highly recommend Garden Grotto if you want top-notch service in a serene, relaxing setting.

I went in for a partial Highlight and haircut and what I left with was two short pieces in the front (not blended at all) and a random sideburn looking piece on one side of my head. My highlights were also yellow. The true disappointment came when I asked for a refund (for at least the full price of the haircut) and was offered $55 for a $90 haircut. I was told I received the discounted price refund for the haircut. I will say I was offered for it to be fixed but I was not interested in the same person that messed it up, trying to fix it. I simply wanted my money refunded. Instead I was told the stylist was "having a bad day." It is extremely disappointing to have this experience a week before my wedding and to be offered a "discounted price" refund for a horrible haircut. Unfortunately because of the way this situation was handled, I would not recommend this salon.

I've had very thin hair my whole life, and was finally super excited to have long, thick hair. So this was very upsetting and disappointing. After researching hair extensions in Austin when I got here, I found Dede. She readjusted all my tape in extensions. They never fell out again, and I was very happy! The tape ins were great, but still weren't exactly what I wanted. Dede talked to me about the keratin bonded extensions, which are her expertise, and I was sold. I switched from tape ins to Great Lengths about a week ago, and I couldn't be happier. They look more natural and I don't have to worry if anyone can see the tapes. Also, I now can pull up my hair and do so much more with it. Thanks Dede! :)

So bad that I drove 5 hours back to my old stylist to rescue my hair. Partial list of problems include; 1. The new extensions were the wrong type and applied with the wrong method 2. Many sprigs of 4" long hair left from "burning" off the original extensions not to mention spots where she pulled clumps of hair out 3. Hair cut was uneven (1 1/2 difference from side to side) and she chopped off 5" of my length. That was recovered with a new cut and extra extensions 4. On top of everything else she charged me twice. Thankful my bank took care of that. I was told by Heather that she was a master stylist ... very doubtful. Extensions were her "specialty" ... no way no how. I've thought long and hard about writing such a negative review but after finding out everything that was botched , if it keeps someone else from going through what I did it's worth it.
