The Sitzmark Lodge is arguably the best kept secret in Vail. A perfect location, a delightful pool, clean rooms and wonderful free breakfast make it ideal for visiting. It's a friendly place with free parking, laundry and best of all, a very reasonable rate, making it all perfect for families visiting Vail. Having said that, don't expect luxury or sophistication. It's basically a "Hampton Inn" - styled hotel. But that's OK, because you're in Vail not to be inside, but out enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountains and the lovely upscale community nestled along the river.

We had an amazing 4 nights at Sitzmark! The location is unbeatable in vail Village, close to the green space and tons of restaurants and shopping. Friendly front desk staff that greet you by name, very clean and a great breakfast including breakfast sandwiches/burritos. Was very impressed by it. As a warm sleeper who loves a freezing room, i thought the no air conditioning would be a bigger issue but it truly wasn't, even with some warmer summer temperatures (mid 80s) but we left the window open at night and had the fan. The village trash pick up and street sweep comes super early (6-630) so if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs. Overall such a great experience and we will be back!

We had a great stay at The Sitzmark! It's in the heart of Vail Village so once we parked our car in the free parking, we walked everywhere. Don't let it scare you that it was built in 1969. Yes, the trim and carpet is outdated but our room was clean and very roomy. Our King room had a balcony that overlooked the Gore Creek. They had a complimentary continental breakfast which saved us $ on one of our meals. There's no elevator from the e parking which was a little bit of a hassle when you are carrying suitcases, but it definitely didn't ruin our trip. For the price, location, and ammenitites, we would definitely stay here again if we visit.

View from the room. Must keep blinds closed for privacy.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Vail.  I would come again. My family stayed here for nine nights in late March/April, during COVID.  I'll break down Pros/Cons... Pros: -Nicely decorated hotel, big rooms, good storage space. -Outdoor pool and hot tub (which my teenagers loved). -Clean and seems to be sanitized well (COVID). -Towel and trash service daily (during COVID), and full service every three days (per check in, however, we received full service daily). -Good selection for grab and go breakfast. -Great staff (except when it came to parking - more below). -Coffee, tea, hot chocolate all day!  (If there is no decaf, ask for it to be available during your stay). Cons: -Some rooms (mine included), have the pool directly outside the window on the same level!  So much for enjoying the town and Mountain View's.  Also, this made the room quite noisy when the pool was in use. -Even with the heat turned down during our stay, the room is quite warm.  I'd love to open the slider, but then we get all the unfiltered noise from the pool.  (I would think this occurs due to the room facing South). -As for the parking...  There are 5 spots directly in front of the hotel and more underneath (a level down with no elevator).  When I arrived I lucked out and parked in one of the 5 spots in front.  Later in the day I was blocked in by another car.  I went to the front desk to let them know, and they said "the spots in front are reserved for handicap guests".  Well, I do have a handicap placard as it is hard for me to walk distances or lots of steps.  The next day the 5 spots were taken.  Two by large vehicles that would not fit in the underground garage, but three by normal sized cars without placards or handicap plates.  Now, the person at the front desk said "it's first come first served".  Which means the person who first told me I shouldn't park there as it's reserved for handicap parking was fibbing.  There are NO spots reserved for handicap drivers.  And those who park in the underground garage must take the steps. A last note:  If you ask for a room facing the creek, the first two issues would be avoided.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! We booked King room 5 months in advanced. We got 2 double beds. Same thing happened to 3 other couples in our group. Hotel parking is tight (which is expected in Vail) but completely inadequate for the property. Hotel is VERY VERY LOUD! Outdoor noise thruout the night. Interior has no AC... you could open patio door but it's shared with a stranger next door so that is awkward! Early in the morning the cleaning staff is yelling up & down the halls!!!! And the walls are paper thin so don't plan on relaxing and sleeping in! Skimpy "continental breakfast" & very little seating.... the coffee is good. Front desk can't solve these larger issues but they could take a lesson in being happy... they must be too busy having cars towed for lack of parking. Hotel needs a complete renovation top to bottom!!! Don't stay here! Not worth it!

I love this hotel. Free parking, fancy Buffett style breakfast, unlimited coffee and tea 24/7, free bike rental, and my room was in high demand for the view of the river it offered from my balcony. Clean, friendly staff, love the hot tub and pool on 2nd floor (rooftop). Would love to stay here again in the future, centrally locates to all other activities.

We especially loved the spa and the complimentary tea service, which was such a nice touch. The front desk associate who checked us in was very kind and welcoming, and the concierge was extremely helpful and friendly, which made our arrival and stay feel very smooth and stress-free. A few small notes about the room: even though it was very cold outside, the room stayed quite warm at night and we ended up sleeping with the door cracked every evening. The vanity plug-in mirror in our room didn't work, and on the first night we placed the "no maid service" sign on the door, but housekeeping still entered and cleaned the room while we were out. Dining and service were overall great. At Bully Ranch, the hostess wasn't the friendliest, but our server was wonderful and made up for it. The staff at The King's Club were fantastic -- our waitress was from Costa Rica and was absolutely lovely. The German mulled hot wine was delicious, and her recommendation of the Tequila Mockingbird was excellent. I was hoping for a true chai latte, but the one at Trefe Café tasted more like warm milk with cinnamon rather than a traditional chai. On the positive side, the valet and room service staff were amazing, and the spa team was incredibly kind and welcoming -- they truly made the experience special. Overall, a beautiful hotel with great amenities, a perfect location, and mostly excellent service. Just a few small details to improve, but we had a very enjoyable stay.

After the massage, I sat by the fire and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I stayed until about 2pm enjoying all of the spa amenities. They provide fruit infused water and teas. There is also an oxygen bar available for an additional cost. They do allow children under the age of 16, with adult supervision. There were a few kids in the pool so it's not an adult only area which is the only downfall.

There are different types of rooms in the hotel. Some are managed by Marriott and others by property managers. We booked a two bedroom unit through booking.com. I assumed it was through Marriott but we were in a Vail Resorts managed unit. The place was nice. Plenty of space for our group of 4 to spread out. The 3 full bathrooms in the unit were nice. Good kitchen with a good ice maker. Also, great wifi. Very comfortable bed. Steam shower in the master bedroom. Cookies in the evenings in the lobby. Super nice staff! Why doesn't this place get the 5th star? Well, I think it could be a bit clearer with who manages what. When I checked in I asked to put my bonvoy number on the reservation. Nope, can't do that unless you book a Marriott room. Also, no daily housekeeping. Not a huge deal but would have been nice. Also, $50 or $55 a night, I can't remember, to park your car. That's outrageous in my opinion. Hot tubs didn't seem to be at 104.

My recent stay at Tivoli Lodge in Vail was unacceptable and far below the standards one expects from a property of this reputation and location. We checked in after a winter storm and were assigned room 403 on the fourth floor. The room was freezing, with a heating unit that did not function properly. After contacting the front desk, maintenance briefly attended to the issue, but the problem was not resolved. During the first night, the heat became excessive and uncontrollable. With a new and inexperienced front desk attendant on duty, and the likelihood that no maintenance staff would be available, we were forced to open the balcony door in winter conditions simply to make the room tolerable. During that same night, water began dripping/leaking from the ceiling. The following day, after returning from breakfast, the room had again become excessively hot. The thermostat still did not function. Maintenance was sent once more and noted they repaired it, but within minutes, significant water dripping leakage developed not just a minor drip, but a steady and concerning flow from the ceiling and wall framing in both the entry and bathroom areas. Our carpets were drenched our sock wet At that point, we had no choice but to demand a room change and were moved to room 405, , which was a much larger and nicer room. While the heating system there functioned properly, it still presented issues, including a broken closet handle another clear sign of poor upkeep. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. Housekeeping staff pressured us by their immediate presence to vacate quickly so the room could be reset, despite the hotel being nearly empty. This was unnecessary and inconsiderate. Shortly thereafter, a staff member returned and knocked aggressively on our door over a forgotten item. The manner was inappropriate and unprofessional. Although there were moments of professionalism particularly a mature front desk associate with a Caribbean accent who was pleasant, friendly, and helpful I would also like to recognize her more fully. She stood out as someone who was genuinely trying her best to be kind, attentive, and helpful under difficult circumstances. Her demeanor, patience, and willingness to assist were appreciated and reflected the level of service the hotel should consistently strive to provide. Unfortunately, the overall experience still reflected a lack of coordination, training, and accountability. In contrast, a late evening desk clerk was unable to provide even basic assistance in locating open dining options, citing unfamiliarity with the area. I understand that between-season periods can present operational challenges. However, if the resort is open, it should be fully prepared to serve and satisfy the guests it chooses to accommodate especially when occupancy is so low. We did not create these problems the hotel did. Yet at no point did we receive a strong or meaningful apology, nor any gesture to help ameliorate the situation. Both are not only appropriate but expected under these circumstances. As a result of these ongoing issues, we made the decision to leave on Thursday instead of Friday, as we felt it was simply not worth extending our stay to the schedule day. This only compounded our disappointment it was a choice we made based on our experience. I would also strongly suggest that management exercise better judgment when the hotel is operating at very low occupancy. In such circumstances, guests should be proactively upgraded to the best available rooms rather than being assigned rooms with known or even obvious deficiencies. This experience reflects poorly on the management of Tivoli Lodge. A property that is largely empty has no excuse for assigning a defective room, failing to resolve repeated maintenance issues, and handling guest disruptions so poorly. Tivoli Lodge is a beautiful property with a great location, but this was a sad and disappointing experience. PD ...I would also like to note a truly positive experience during our stay at The Little Diner, a Vail institution well known for its accolades in both service and quality of food, delivered an outstanding breakfast experience. His professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness were exceptional and stood in sharp contrast to the challenges we encountered at the hotel. Jose Pienknagura 602-321-2004 Josepienknagura@gmail.com

I was a little unclear about housekeeping as they gave me a flyer which I thought said I wouldn't get housekeeping, but I actually did. The one frustrating thing was trying to add a name to the reservation. At hotels, you can just call down to the front desk and get that taken care of. Here, I had to go to an owners portal (I'm not even an owner.... Just booked it direct on the Marriott website) and fill out a bunch of information about the guest, including their email address and address. It took them a long time to process, and I wasn't sure if the second person was going to end up having issues checking in. So, make sure you have all of your names right on the reservation to begin with! The shuttle was very quick both heading to Vail and leaving Vail. I was a little confused as to where to pick up the shuttle though at the hotel. I stayed in Evergreen and they said the shuttle would pick me up in front of the building, but I didn't know exactly where that was. The hotel's listing claimed "luxurious mountain retreat", "elevated experience, "recent renovations" and showed beautiful photos, but my experience was nothing like what was advertised. We booked a 5-night stay for New Year's week to celebrate my birthday, paying $10,000 during peak pricing. We chose this hotel for its location over newer and less expensive options, only to be met with a room that was outdated, dirty, and poorly maintained. Room Conditions: * Stained carpets and walls * Damaged headboard and cracked bathroom tiles * Moldy, peeling wallpaper and a musty, moldy smell in the bathroom * Dirty towels, scratched lamps, toothpaste spatter on the mirror, and stained sink and counters * A broken deadbolt on the door Service: The service was equally disappointing. At check-in, I immediately reported the room's condition, but the front desk staff refused to assist, telling me to speak to a manager the next morning. Over the next two days, I spoke with several staff members, including those claiming to be managers, yet nothing was resolved. I was told no other rooms were available, and they could not do anything. I asked to check out early and cancel my remaining days of my prepaid stay. They did agree but I am still waiting for refund. One manager, Bryanna, was especially rude and dismissive, showing no willingness to help. The staff seemed inexperienced and untrained, which I later learned was due to new management. Final Thoughts: This stay has been a nightmare. I've wasted days of my trip trying to resolve these issues with the hotel and Expedia, and I am still waiting for a refund for the unused nights. On top of that, the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, with no alternatives offered. This hotel is overpriced, poorly managed, and far from the luxury experience it advertises. Avoid it at all costs--it's not worth the money, the frustration, or the disappointment.
