Sofa bed, completely missing the mattress. Nice laminated note. Front desk says has been broken for over a month.

This is an excellent location. Unfortunately Vail resorts does not do a very good job maintaining these condos. Upon checking in we discovered the sofa bed was altogether missing the mattress and we were unable to use the bed or the couch for the entire stay. Vail resorts refunded us $400 total, which they said, was the difference between a three bedroom and two bedroom for four nights. Also broken were the coffee maker, two humidifiers, and the downstairs shower drain was clogged, which we fixed ourselves. When we used the sister facilities at One Ski Hill Place - the bowling alley was broken and the pool had zero towels after calls from several patrons. We also discovered that if you walk across Main street to rent your skis, they are 25% of the cost that Vail resorts charges. Overpriced and terrible customer service. Most of the resort is staffed by foreign nationals who are there for a few months to work and make as much money as possible. There's not a lot of pride being taken in this business from the top down. Definitely will not be staying here again

Roller shades in bedrooms and living room offer ZERO privacy

Are you a voyeur, exhibitionist, pedophile, Peeping Tom? Then this is the place for you. Mountain Thunder Lodge, a Vail Resorts Management Company property, are aware that their roller shades offer ZERO privacy at night. That's right. Both bedrooms and the living room are totally visible to anyone on the patio next door, in the neighboring buildings, or walking or driving by. We stayed here for our teen daughter's spring break during the first week of April. From inside, we had no idea that at night anyone outside can see right in. We had ZERO privacy and didn't realize until the end of our stay. My husband spoke with management regarding this and their solution was to offer a maintenance person to come hang a sheet over the inside of our windows. They refused to move us or change out the blinds. They also refused to take any responsibility and claimed it was up to the actual condo owner to alert us that any random person in a neighboring condo, or walking or driving on the street could see right into our condo at night. We rented the condo directly from Mountain Thunder Lodge, a Vail Resort at Breckenridge. We have no idea who actually owns the condo. They did offer to refund us the $30 daily resort fee. We spent $4,000 on our one week stay. They also had the audacity to charge us an extra $175 when we asked for a late checkout. Guests should have every expectation of privacy in bedrooms. This resort clearly does not care about the safety and well-being of their guests. We also asked management to have a representative of their legal team contact us. It has been 10 days since we checked out and we have not heard from anyone. I cannot recommend this resort and would give it zero stars if I could.

If I come back to Breckenridge, this is definitely a place I would stay! Staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. There are different buildings that you could be staying in. As for the main building (where the lobby is located): there is parking in a key access garage beneath the building, there is a fitness center, hot tub (really, really HOT), free shuttles that will take you and pick you up from anywhere in Breckenridge (7a-1130p), free wi-fi, and free ski/snowboard lockers. This is not a ski out location, but the shuttle will drop you off at the gondola or at Beaver Run. This IS a ski-in hotel; one of the ski run's that ends at the gondola, just so happens to swing directly at the back steps of the hotel lobby. Our studio condo had everything in it that we would need...the only thing it doesn't have is a waher/dryer, but I certainly did not need that while on vacation :) I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family!

    Nasty shower head.

Stayed here for my wedding in March. Currently typing this review from the living room at 2 in the morning because (jokes aside) the bed is so squeaky even the tiniest movement will wake my wife up. Not a terrible experience but not at all what we expected for the $300+ per night we are paying. We stayed at the Double Tree up the street for a few days before "upgrading" to this place. It was half he price, had a great restaurant and bar, and the lobby was a vibrant, fun place to be with people hanging around chatting, waiting for the shuttle, etc. In comparison, this place is a ghost town. The one time we tried to take the shuttle we stood outside for 20 minutes and just ended up walking. It's also worth mentioning that the elevator was broken during check in, and the front desk offered no assistance at all in getting our bags up the stairs to the room. Pros: ski-in, private garage parking, close to town. Staff has been friendly and housekeeping is spot on. Cons: Expensive. TV in the living room is about 28". TV in the bedroom is even smaller - see the Pics. For $300+ a night you'd think they could update some amenities. Bed is squeaky as hell as mentioned. Shower head (see pic) is disgusting. We did not have a bad time here, but I just can't recommend it unless you absolutely have to have a ski-in scenario. Otherwise there are better options here for much less money.

    Studio condo. Perfect for two.

Amazing location tucked into the mountain. I have zero complaints. The staff were amazing. Especially the homie Alex who helped us get into the condo when it was locked.

We stayed here this past weekend and the whole staff was so accommodating! We had a 3 bedroom townhouse and it was perfect for our extended family. There was plenty of space in the common areas, a kitchen with enough utensils to make pretty much anything you wanted with, and puzzles, tv, books, and other things to keep you busy when the weather dips just a little too low for us Texans. We also loved that there was a free shuttle to town and we were also able to use the private bowling alley at the Ski Hill Lodge. It's such a great, scenic location!

By far, the best receptionist on the planet, Spencer went above and beyond like a Range Rover and was very helpful in our accommodations!

I'm not sure where to begin, so I will just lay out my experience: I drove from Fort Worth to Breckenridge, got to the hotel, valet got me squared away (as I had 2 karts of luggage to bring to the room). I had my dog, and he has an expensive diet with fresh ground frozen meats. Trying to get settled in, I wanted to crash out ASAP, but I had to unload a plethora of booze and a few other things from the fridge - which I immediately realized did not have any sort of freezer. No problem, I just opened my windows and stuck the meat out on the sill - no problem keeping it frozen. Wanting to wind down (super strung out from that drive), I checked out what was on TV. Thank you EVERYONE who left their subscriptions logged in! I got into some shows that I would have never seen otherwise! Then I thought I'd pop some popcorn - no microwave (wtf). I seriously thought about walking out to the lobby in my undies to get my corn popped, but the building was freezing cold. I highly recommend carrying a hot plate and small pot, because I always do, and hardly ever need it - except for this time. I never popped my corn, but made plenty of soup. Then came time to actually crash out. I like to bathe before I bed in, so that's what I did. I ran the water in the tub on full hot until full. The room was so cold, the tub cooled the water significantly, but that really didn't bug me too bad. It's when I was layed down in the tub when I realized I had to stand up each time I needed soap and shampoo lol... Hey, no prob, I did that, relaxed, everything was great, even the sliding barn door :D I crawled into bed, and it was GREAT. Maybe my own bed sucks, but I was in heaven...... until it all started. I could hear EVERYTHING! Doors slamming, people talking, dogs barking (to which mine responded - uggh), and TRASH TRUCKS OMG! These things really were all I have to complain about. Every member of staff: cleaning ladies, valet guys, TALENTED bartenders, etc... we're great! I am giving 4 stars, because I'm really not into the ski resort thing enough to know what is the norm, but I have to bring these things to your attention. I would probably stay there again. I've read the 1, 2, and 3 star reviews, and I sympathize. My vacation was great, but the room was the cilantro (great to some, awful to others).

From the start, It was a let-down for my husband in that of the only 3 tap beer options they had on the menu, they were out of 1 beer that my husband wanted. In any case, he ordered another beer, and I chose "Indian Summer" cocktail...which was good. I wasn't too hungry, so had Scallion Crab Cakes for my meal, and my husband tried the Shrimp Po Boy. Well, my crab cakes were quite good...but I was more impressed with my husband's Po Boy. Possibly THE best version of Po Boy I've ever seen and tasted! We also shared a Key Lime Pie...which was just OK. Still, the presentation for all 3 items were really nice. Service was OK at best. While fine in the beginning, the waitress somewhat disappeared halfway through? I even accidentally tagged down the Manager-Owner (thinking it was our waitress!). She did touch base near the very end. Overall, I thought the foods were quite good...but the overall dining experience was just OK. Somehow, I didn't like the ambiance or the service at all.

It is on the pricier end but the quality is worth it in my opinion. We started with the stone crab claws which were tasty. I wish the butter was warmed. Next up was the ceviche which was also good and not too fishy tasting. The chips were thick and had a decent amount of salt on it (which I like). There were some plantain chips which was a nice touch. We also got some warm olives. The baked oysters were briny and cheesy. The salmon was the main entree we shared and the fish was incredibly fresh. The quinoa and cherry tomatoes along with the fresh micro greens went well together. There was also a sauce garnish that reminded me of a chimichurri. Overall we had a great dining experience here and would return during our next trip to Breckenridge.

The location is definitely a plus it's close to town, walkable to shops and restaurants, and near the slopes, which makes it convenient if you're planning a ski trip. The property is also part of the Hilton Grand Vacations portfolio, and they offer self-parking, which I believe is complimentary. That said, the property itself feels pretty outdated. While I believe some of the rooms have been renovated, the overall facilities, lobby, gym, spa, and general décor could really use a refresh. The front desk area in particular felt a bit drab and not very welcoming. Check-in was just okay. We are Hilton owners (though not at this specific property), and while I understand priority may go to owners here, it was a little disappointing that we couldn't get a better room especially since the property didn't seem very full at the time. Our two-bedroom unit itself was decent. The showers had great water pressure, which I appreciated, but the bedding could use improvement the pillows were too soft for my liking. The bathroom overall was fine, although I personally didn't feel comfortable using the bathtub as it didn't seem as clean as I would've liked. I did like the fireplace in the room which came in handy and the balcony was nice. One downside is that housekeeping isn't automatically included you need to meet a certain stay threshold, which wasn't ideal. The amenities were underwhelming. The gym was very small and not well-equipped. The spa didn't really feel like a spa, and when I tried to use the steam room, it wasn't even on. There are multiple jacuzzis, but one wasn't working during our visit, so I had to move to another and share, which wasn't ideal. They do offer complimentary coffee and hot cocoa in the lobby, but it's only available for a short window and is more of a self-serve packet setup, which we did not like and didn't use. The biggest issue for me was the lack of follow-up from staff. After checkout, I realized I had left behind a small bag of items in the room. I called multiple times and was told each time that someone would follow up with housekeeping and call me back but I never received a call. When I finally reached someone again, I was told the items couldn't be found. The lack of communication and follow-through left a bad impression. Overall, while the location is great and the rooms are decent, the outdated facilities, inconsistent service, and lack of follow-up make it hard for me to return.

The vibe was that it was a very comfy, chill place - they have soothing music playing over by the office door where the coffee/tea machines are, and there is a small kitchen and living room area. They had a real fire going in the living room area and there were games and books and lots of "things to do" brochures around, so truly it felt like being in a cozy cabin. What's not to love? Not sure I even want to share this place…read morewith anyone else who might not appreciate it, but I hv benefitted from it and I hope this helps others find it as well. My friend brought me here, saying, if I'm going to try any hostel, anywhere in the world, it should be here or his other favorite - in Wales. It is a gorgeous autumn in Colorado, so Breckinridge it is. How incredibly fortunate for me that my first hostel was here. I'm constantly reminded that not every hostel is so nice. What a lovely place. Well appointed, so clean - which is all important in this pandemic time. Everyone is friendly. We stayed in a 6-bunk room with a total 4 ppl in it. The less agile (that'd be me) was lucky to get a lower bunk (not sure how that works, we lucked out that not all the berths were full!) The other two ppl were solo travelers, one from South America, the other from Russia. They were friendly and polite. We all did our own thing; I crashed out early, so I wasn't bothered at all that another guest had to pack luggage for an early flight out the next day. There are outlets at each bunk, even USB chargers And a lamp which was a necessity when hvg to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I thought the room was comfortable; temps got down into the 30's overnight but I was comfortably cozy in my bed with its duvet; there were extra blankets in the closet if needed. My friend thought it too warm but he runs that way, but he slept thru the night fine too. A word about the bedding: mine was fine, clean, smelled clean. But one of the other bunks had yellowed bedding - with stains. I presume it was washed and cleaned just looked used, and if you got there in daylight or with all the lights on, one would hv seen it, but I didn't till the next morning when we were getting ready to leave and that might've bn off putting. I came down early, just before sunrise The general areas were at a comfortable temp. Wasn't time yet for breakfast, but some kind soul had already started the coffee. I went for a walk, took some pix, came back once guests had started to straggle in. What a friendly, informative bunch! My friend tells me that's most hostel-goers. And the food was pretty good, pancakes, eggs, cereal; I got the oatmeal and an English muffin. The coffee smelled really good. And I was so happy they had powdered hot chocolate too! Special mention must be made of Belage (sorry, may hv misspelled) but he is a welcoming, knowledgeable host and made us feel at home. If you come here, please contribute positively. I worry that the wrong sort would detract from such a lovely accommodation and experience. And yeah, I'll hv to keep in mind that almost certainly other hostels aren't like this, but it is now my gold standard.
