Beautiful location, nice condo. Non-smoking facilities yet my room smells like a club in the 90s. Don't stay in room 215! It happens to be above the door to the pub where everyone goes to smoke. My one allergy is cigarette smoke, so here i am sneezing with a sore throat, runny nose and a migrane at 1 am. I called the front desk last night, but all he can do us call the cops. The cops can't do anything as it's considered public space even though it's only 10 steps off the back door. I called the front desk again tonight, get the same guy with the same answer. He doesn't even offer to ask them to walk a bit further away or tell them their smoke is bothering the guests. So I'm laying here wide awake & angry that I paid $1,752 for 4 nights of hell to tell you don't stay anywhere near the back door! read more

Booked this on Travelocity because it was the best price we could find closest to Vail, we really didn't know what to expect because the pictures all looked super different. Once we got there, the location could NOT be beat! Literally 100 yards from Gondola 1! The room was super spacious and amenities were super nice! Outdoor hot tub was a vibe after long days skiing, ski shop and bar in the same building was also great. Only reason I am giving it 4 and not 5 stars is because the room itself was a little dated, but I think it's like condos or timeshares because all the rooms are different. So others might be updated. I would for sure stay here again, great value. read more

I loved our stay at the Mountain Haus in Vail! The condo we got was clean and beautiful. Very well-maintained with a beautiful mountain view. I loved the full kitchen and spacious bedrooms. Really nice bathrooms as well. The bathrobes were a nice touch. I appreciate the water filter in the fridge, as well as the water and coffee in the lobby. I was delighted by the breakfast in the morning. What a nice treat to have that included in our stay! We would love to come back and stay here again! read more

I booked this property via Orbitz. Unable to make it to the property due to a rockslide on I-70, I called the hotel on the day of the booking letting them know of my situation. The front desk offered to reschedule for the next two weeks. But I couldn't do that and told them I'd call them back. After haggling with Orbitz and the insurance, who did nothing, I ended up calling the hotel to see if they can do anything for me. I spoke to a person named Matt Drummet. The guy was RUDE, condescending, not willing to helping. I was willing to settle on receiving one nights stay since I've already paid for the hotel room. He didn't offer anything but 50% off a future stay. After his rude behavior there's no way I'd even take a future offer. He basically laughed at me on the phone and said there's nothing that can be done Then I called back and had the misfortune of speaking to someone named STEVE, who is the "hotel manager." The guy told me to stop calling and HUNG UP on me! What poor customer service!!! I've reported them to the BBB and be sure to NEVER stay at Vail Mountain Haus! read more

Wonderful location, awesome outdoor heated pool and hot tub. Will stay again.

We were here for a family get together during July/August. We booked several rooms and had a chance to see all the variations between the rooms. Each room is finished out differently because it is owned by different people and the hotel does the cleaning service and maintenance. The location is super convenient and located across the street from the free Intown shuttle service that comes every 7 minutes. For this side of town it is a short walk to the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens and the Gerald Ford Amphitheater. Service is good and people try to be as helpful as possible. The free continental breakfast is the same each day. See the pictures. The coffee is not good so get it at Yeti. Breakfast is fine and will save you some money. Laundry is free and do it yourself. This is the best part of the stay. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Wifi is free and reasonable speed. The kitchen has everything that you need to make a meal. However, I did not cook because I was concerned with trapping in the heat in our room during the day. The beds and pillows are comfortable and good quality. Our family stayed in room 564 (a 2 bedroom suite) and each bedroom was provided with a box fan. We were instructed to use these to get the air circulating and cool down the room. We kept all the windows open 24/7 and sometimes the front door during the daytime. There is no AC in all the rooms. I would recommend that they add ceiling fans to the rooms and update the bathrooms. The box fans are loud and distracting from the sound of nature. We also had room 561, which is a one bedroom suite. Well appointed and comfortable. It has no AC too. The toilet clogged everyday the moment we checked in. Every morning they would send maintenance to our room to snake out the toilet and by the end of the day it would stop working again. We are on day 2 and still waiting for them to move us to a new room or just permanently fix the problem. To our knowledge, Room 654 which is a 3 bedroom penthouse has AC. So if you want AC then book the 3 or 4 bedroom suites. These are pretty nice. In summary, if you are in Vail during the summer, AC is needed if you want to get some good sleep or escape the afternoon heat.This is a major failing of this place. Since we are traveling with young children and seniors, I would not recommend this place due to the lack of AC for comfort. read more

Hotel called me to cancel because Vail resorts was shut down. Gave me the option of a 50% refund or a credit to use within a year. Seeing that I live 2000 miles away and likely won't be going to Vail within the next year, these options didn't work for me and the hotel was completely unwilling to budge in any other direction. Unreal when the government is telling us to stay home and this hotel is encouraging congregations by not offering the full refund. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with our 2 BR unit, 558 (1 king, 2 twins with trundles, pullout couch). Our condo was clean and don't mind the lobby, as other reviewers made negative comments. We stayed for a lacrosse tournament in June (made the reservation in January) and although you get hit with a heat wave in the hallways, the cleaning staff keeps your patio door and windows cracked, so you get cool breezes. I took other reviewers' advice and booked a room that faced the mountain and it wasn't noisy at night. I noticed another reviewer made a comment about being allergic to pets so I requested a unit that was not pet friendly and have not had an issue (I, too, am extremely sensitive). Bonus points for cleaning the rooms daily (I assumed since it was a condo there would not be full service); laundromat in the basement, & soap/fabric softener provided free of charge. Breakfast is also better than what you would expect (self serve waffle station, cereal, yogurt, bagels, etc). Good location and friendly staff. Would come back. read more

We were pretty excited to stay in this hotel. Given that it has a pretty cool location and all the rooms are eclectic and different. But when we came into our first room we were mortified with how hideous it was. All red, mirrors everywhere like the scene of a dirty porn movie. Super tacky. We asked for another room. (Front desk guy Chris was awesome - he should be a manager) The next room is actually pretty nice minimalistic theme. My boyfriend goes to close the door and it locks on its own ! we're unable to open it again all of our bathroom toiletries are stuck in there. We call the front desk and he's unable to get it unlocked. So we're forced to move again. At midnight! The last room is awful. The room is horrible and there isn't a real full bathroom. It's like a jack and Jill style. All the furniture is outdated. The location is horrible-no views ! BUT Because we moved so much that night we didn't want to complain. Next morning- Construction was extremely loud woke us up at 7 AM. When I went to go tell the manager about all this he told me this is a construction zone and that I got a discount price on the room so I shouldn't be complaining. (He's clearly not versed in any customer service skills). They sent a housekeeper to our unit- showed him the dirty tub. He told me it was just "Stain". When I went back to run water over it it was clearly dirt. They ended up never giving us a new room. I was unable to shower. Super uncomfortable all night. We're extremely dissatisfied. We come to Vail all the time for weekend escapes, Do not come to this hotel. It's been the worst one we've seen so far. There are much better options in this area. read more

The location of this place right by the covered bridge and bus stop can't be beat. We walked to the slopes and had everything right at our fingertips. The accommodations are pricey, but what isn't in Vail? The service was great, the folks at the front desk were super friendly, nice & helpful. If we needed something, we got it. The interior wasn't brand new or anything but that doesn't bother me since we were there to spend the majority of our time outside not in the hotel. The bathrooms looked brand new which was nice. Mountain Haus had what we needed, when we needed it and a great location. I was able to find a deal online through vail.com and given the cost of the other places to stay, this ended up being the best deal around. read more

Amazing stay. While expensive, totally worth it, especially if you're spending your time in the area. We got a one-bedroom and were upgraded to the mountain view, best unit ever. The unit included hammocks in the patio. At one point we spent about an hour in the most perfect weather just laying in the hammocks. It was amazing. Service was phenomenal. I spent a few weeks making our reservation and making sure everything was ready, including a bottle of champagne, check-in times/check-out times, activities to do there, booking in-room massages, etc. Sunny and Kirk were my go-tos and made sure things were executed flawlessly. Make sure to take advantage of the shops and restaurants nearby. We used the hot tub, but there are also saunas and maybe steam rooms in the locker rooms. Absolutely loved this place and would definitely come back for another visit. read more

Great location but many of the units need to be updated and their cancellation policy is awful. Beware. Even if the roads are closed or there is a no travel policy being enforced due to a pandemic, you won't get much of a refund or any refund at all. So, book cautiously. Lobby is very small and basic but that is OK. Nice Nescafe machine makes up for it. No parking so you have to park in the resort parking structure but it is close by. read more

Warm hot chocolate all day, cookies at 4, 3 bAgs of granola trail mix and chocolate at check in, indoor outdoor hot tub and buffet breakfast. In the heart of Vail Village. What more can u ask for. Yes the walls r a but thin; , I hit my head on the shower door because it's a bit low but minor things. The buffet breakfast had lotsa stuff but I stuck with OJ, waffles or a bagel and banana. Didn't try eggs or bacon, not my thing at buffets. Staff extremely friendly, right by bus route and comfy bed. U had me at hello. A better overall experience than the Christiana where I stayed last time. Easy walk to the gondola for skiing daily. Oh I stayed in #219, a hotel room facing the street and having a balcony overlooking the pool and Hot tub. No issues with outside noise btw. I stayed Wednesday thru Saturday. Having the George restaurant below is is a plus as u don't have to take a jacket to go to happy hour especially when it's -7 outside. read more

Fantastic place - we stayed the weekend of Labor Day for the Gourmet on Gore and received great service (actually, 5-star service, honestly - they went to the grocery store to get us whole milk for the kiddo when all they had was 2% - when all we did was ask if it was available!). Location was absolutely perfect for Gourmet on Gore - right at the entrance of the farmer's market! The room was very nice and clean. All units are individually owned, so not sure on the quality of all units, but ours was tastefully updated and certainly sufficient for us. Pricing was unreal for Labor Day weekend/Vail ($250/night - reserved two days in advance). Really recommend Mountainhaus if you can swing it and catch the deals. read more

Great location. Amazing front desk support. We talked to many at desk and all were consistently amazing and helpful. I read some reviews regarding noise. Our stay was very quiet. We didn't hear anyone, but we were on top floor. Yes, we had some road noise since on I-70 side and had windows open, but it was minimal. We were in a beautiful condo- well stocked with what we needed. Updated kitchen/bathrooms and spacious. We had our dogs with us. There is a great trail along Gore Creek right by the hotel. The dogs could access the creek or it was an easy walk to Ford Park. Highly recommend!! Note: there is no AC like most places in Vail. Fans were provided. The heat worked very well when needed. There is no direct parking, but the parking garage was right there and free for summer. We were able to unload at the main lobby. read more

considering the rate ($475/night), the two bedroom / two bath mountainside condo we rented was a killer deal ... but ... when you book a trip to vail the first weekend of december you're taking a big risk on if there's gonna be any snow to ski/board on ... so ... the price was about right (we got lucky and it dumped 14 inches the day we arrived and a fair amount of the front-side runs were open). if we would have stayed during the high season ($945/night) or the holiday season ($1200/night) i would have been really pissed off w/ the accommodations. the property was probably built in the 1970's ... and it looks it. the kitchen and bathrooms in our unit had been updated sometime in the last decade, but overall the place looked worn out. at a four-star property (or so they claim) i wouldn't expect: multiple extension cords running along the living room floor to power the entertainment system, the exhaust grill in the bathroom held in place w/ strips of duct tape, a shitty paint job (doorknobs/hardware painted over and splatters/drips all over the cabinets), broken lamps, mismatched curtains, crappy old carpeting and semi-crappy old furniture). +es: location ... right in the middle of the village helpful/friendly staff (day shift) 'the george' bar on the first floor w/ good prices and an unpretentious crowd -es: place looks old and dated (except the updated lobby, and our kitchen/bathrooms) unhelpful/unfriendly staff (night shift) no parking or valet (you have to park in the public lot across the street for $20/day) read more

HOTEL IS A SCAM!!!!!!! Arrived at the hotel only to find that they had no record of my reservation was told they only had a two bedroom unit available and they are happy to accommodate me and that they will not charge me for the upgrade as they were providing this as a courtesy. Made sure with the front desk manager that I will NOT be charged they assured me I would not be. the morning of check out I was told they are charging me the full amount!!!!! Hotel is unprofessional and front desk staff and manager take advantage of guests. they refuse to provide me with a refund and the reservations manager is even worse. they do not admit to their mistake or stick to their word instead they make up lies and say that what they told me about not being charged never happened. I would like to say that the hotel staff is extremely unprofessional and they are liars. read more

I can see this being a better place to stay in the winter. I travel a lot and I've stayed at several places in Vail. We stayed on the 5th floor in a 1 bedroom. The layout was great. The bed was comfortable. The room did not have AC so we were so uncomfortable. So since we had to keep the windows open it made it hard to sleep because of the noise from the highway, parking lot and pool below. Don't stay here if you need quiet. read more

They stood by the same 1st rate that I got as the the second room that I got was because of my extended stay. One of the best locations and all laid out for You. Stroll to the village and bus stops. We stayed at the Mountain Haus from Dec.24 to Jan 1. My family rented two three bedroom condos. Each unit was $2000. a night. The units are individually owned. We were in units 683 & 685. The common areas in the hotel are in need of an upgrade. Our condos were shabby. Two dining chairs in 683 were falling apart and had to be replaced. We had the downstairs bedroom in 685. We were not informed when we booked that it did not have a window. It was extremely uncomfortable. The room was very small and either too cold or too hot and extremely dry. The humidifier they supplied didn't help. I called the Town of Vail and to my surprise it is legal to have a bedroom without windows, in some circumstances, in Vail and this room is legal. They also did not inform us at booking that the hotel allows dogs in some rooms. One member of our group is extremely allergic to dogs. He had a severe reaction which required medical attention. He lost two days of skiing. There weren't any other available rooms, but fortunately our other room was dog free and we switched rooms. One positive note. The concierge was extremely helpful prior to our arrival and during our trip. She handled most of our reservations and helped with our rentals. This was a very expensive vacation. Our accommodations were substandard. We've been to Vail many times during Christmas week and have never before had a complaint. read more

Buyer beware. You will be charged a 10% "handling fee" from the total room cost even if you cancel your room in excess of the 14 day minimum. This is not disclosed until you receive their confirmation from Vail on Sale. After repeatedly asking Iva, the Reservations Manager what the handling fee was for, she responded "= cancellation fee". I'm still curious how a cancellation fee can fluctuate in price and not be a standard fee. Ours happened to be $35 but yours may be more or less dependent on how much you were overcharged for your room. A $10 cancellation fee is understandable (maybe), $35 is ridiculous, when you cancel 18 days prior to your stay. In addition, this place only offers a 4pm check-in and 10am check-out during the summer months. You can do better elsewhere, with better customer service. read more

So... this is my first ever yelp review so you know it's bad. The rooms are outdated. The receptionist, Madison, was extremely rude. No help whatsoever! Refused to even acknowledge our presence. They offered no help with our luggage or ski equipment. If you plan on bringing a car you're SOL (shit out of luck), no parking. Madison will tell you to just "drive around." We had a slight mix up with our reservation and the staff, was helpful and made it right. We had a great weekend there and are looking forward to staying there again. Great front desk staff! Good location, poor cleanliness and customer service. Had broken glass on the counter tops when we came in on which I almost cut my hand. In my opinion, that is unacceptable. In addition to that, the "newly renovated" unit was very noisy allowing all the street traffic and foot traffic noise to sound as if the windows were open (but we're not), and we weren't notified of an EARLY checkout, only discovering it when we called to ask for late check out. And upon raising these concerns of a noisy place that left broken glass laying around and was forcing us out early without notification, the customer service offered only to keep our bags while out (which is standard) and a 45 min checkout extension to our early checkout - which was still earlier than standard checkout of 11a, and use of their pool for the morning. If you're looking for a relaxing and hassle free stay in Vail, choose another place. read more
