Silver Inn is a decent place for a one night, somewhat affordable stay. But 4 stars out of 5? Not even close. Our room was clean, of reasonable size and bare bones. Comfort-wise, the beds are okay but plan on spending any relaxation time on them. There are two straight-back wooden desk chairs that offer no comfort whatsoever. Electrical wiring is NOT up to code. This was the cheaper option in Silverthorne compared to other hotels in the area (under $200 a night vs $400 a night at Hampton Inn). Silverthorne is also central to Breckenridge and Keystone, two of the ski resorts we wanted to frequent. PROS: - free outdoor parking - complimentary bottled water and breakfast bars in the lobby - complimentary coffee and muffins at the breakfast station, open from 0630 - 1000 - sauna/jacuzzi on first floor (I did not use this feature) - large, double queen room - bed a bit soft but comfortable and clean - very clean room - very friendly front desk - Target is in the next parking lot, walking distance. They do not sell wine, beer only. We would walk to Target, bring back some frozen pizza and make a snack in our room. CONS: - walls are somewhat thin - no elevator to second floor - somewhat dated room and decor, but clean - wi-fi is just adequate - housekeeping mostly good Housekeeping does a good job preparing the room before your stay, but we were annoyed during our trip as they either forgot or ignored the fact that we needed new plastic cups to use. We left tips daily in the room but it didn't matter. We were cheerfully given more cups at the front desk but it was inconvenient to have to ask. We were also perturbed when housekeeping turned off the fridge and freezer temp in the mini fridge - our food defrosted and potentially spoiled; we had frozen food and left over foodstuff. If you are staying there and have breast milk in the fridge, leave a giant sign stating that they should not tamper with the temperature! Bring ear plugs or buy some from Target next door. Some nights kids were storming down the hallway and yelling. Sometimes I could hear our neighbor snoring right through the walls, which was remedied by me turning my body 180 degrees and putting my pillow away from the wall. Stay on the second floor if possible as the floor creaks. I didn't list the no-breakfast as a con because it's clearly stated it is not a full breakfast. People need to learn how to read! SHOPPING/FOOD/BOOZE: The outlet mall is a few blocks away. We are mountain bikers, so we had a ton of fun shopping at the Pearl Izumi outlet store. There are a few good breakfast places nearby: Blue Moon Bakery (super crowded) and my favorite, Mountain Lyon Cafe (also super crowded). Dillon Dam Brewery is my ultimate favorite for dinner (super duper crowded). Chipotle nearby for lunch (crowded). Target next door only sells beer, so we ended up going to Locals Liquor (another favorite!!). Although not fancy, Silver Inn did the trick and it was the right price for a large, clean room. We like to support small business and the owners do a good job in running this establishment. We will definitely return! read more

We stayed here during a recent visit and I'm a fan. Very standard in all aspects. The rooms were clean along with the rest of the place, although I did not go into the whirlpool. Rates around Christmas and New Year were very reasonable compared to almost anywhere in the Silverthorn/Frisco area. The folks who run it are very nice and the continental breakfast is sufficient with all the typical goodies. Cereal, breads, fruits, coffee, tea and juices. Very simple and light before hitting the mountain. If you need more, the Mountain Lyon Cafe has some great breakfast choices and some of the best pork green chili I have ever had and it's only a few block away. They keep complimentary water bottles and trail bars for all who need to be reminded of staying hydrated in the high altitude. Nice! Would stay here again read more

This is a worst hotel you can get in the mountain. thats why they are so cheap.. The rooms are not clean and infested with bedbugs and the management is in violation of health department and ADA laws.. They are currently being sued for refusing handicapped people with service animal. read more

Four stars compared to other budget hotels. Clean and quiet.* Bathroom appeared to have been recently remodeled. Mini-fridge (no microwave or coffee maker). Decent sized new flat screen TV with HDMI inputs. Four bar wi-fi -- streamed Netflix with no problems. Beds, towels, pillows, etc. not outstanding but serviceable. Unlike some other reviewers I did not smell any cigarette smoke. The continental breakfast was muffins (the big tasty kind), bagels, a few pieces of fruit and juice, and coffee and tea. Fine by my needs. If you need more substance, Target next door has fast food cafe and a moderated sized grocery. Seems to be the second lowest rate in Silverthorne and was an excellent value. Right off I-70. *I stayed on a Monday night in August so the "quiet" wasn't put to the full test. read more

Christmas Story. Pregnant, traveling with a toddler, alone. I was caught in a snowstorm the day before Christmas Eve on my way down to Denver to see family. Highway closed both directions. All hotels had no vacancies, including the Silver Inn. I intended on asking if they could recommend a hotel near by, but when I got into the lobby, I lost it. The thought of sleeping in the car with a toddler in a snowstorm overnight, after 5 hours of waiting for the highway to reopen, overwhelmed me and I balled. Despite their No Vacancy sign they were able to find a place for us to sleep. Thank you for taking pity on us. I will forever be grateful. This a true family run business with heart. read more

First, the room I had rented was supposed to be an "off he lobby" room, which I wast too excited about, but ended up being a second floor corner room. Total score. The room was very clean, quiet, spacious and up to date. Front desk help was friendly, but the wifi password was a bit absurd. The ambiance was lovely. I didn't use to sauna or hot tub, but they looked pretty good and popular. The breakfast was as to be expected (basic), but the coffee was on point. It tasted great and there was real half and half! Will certainly be visiting the silver inn again. read more

This is a nice little motel next to the highway in Silverthorne. Its clean, the service is pleasant and its far enough away from I70 that it is relatively quiet. I gave it 3 stars as a relative value as it is a lot like all of the Motel 6's that I stayed in traveling across country. Clean... nothing exceptional. read more

The Silver Inn was a very decent place to stay. The room looked very new and was spotless. Had a microwave, mini-fridge, and free wifi, that worked. It's in a good location near everything you might need while on a vacation in that area. The price was good, and I'd stay there again. One complaint, while my room did not smell of cigarette smoke, the lobby areas and hallways did. There are smoking rooms adjacent to non-smoking rooms, maybe not such a good idea. read more

This was my first trip to the Inn and will probably be my last... although it was very clean. Hotels/motels that you stay at should at least have normal things to make your stay enjoyable. Here are some things that I just don't get. 1. The parking lot had not been cleared and it had been so long it formed ice ruts that caused my JEEP to bottom out... that's right a JEEP! 2. I had to move the furniture because I couldn't even reach the night stand from the bed....SERIOUSLY? 3. Reservation for 2... BUT ONLY 1 towel in the room. And lastly. The hot tub closes at 10, that's not the problem.....it doesn't even open til 3? That's a first...anywhere. Don't be scared by the three stars, for I'd stay here again. With that said, there were some definite pros and definite cons. We booked Silver Inn as a place for 4 to stay while we snowboarded at Keystone and Breckenridge for New Years Week. It was one of the cheapest in the area but still had decent reviews, so we went with it. Pros: First, it was CHEAP. Hardly any other hotels in the area touched these prices. The front desk was friendly and helpful on the phone when we booked and made stay revisions, and the good service was consistent when we checked in and during our stay. They were always willing to answer any questions or give us whatever we needed. The lobby, room, and bathroom were all definitely clean. Our non-smoking room did not smell like smoke at all, and the beds were pretty comfy for a budget hotel. It's a very small hotel, so the walk from our room to car was literally just a few steps down the hallway and outside. Cons: The biggest con by far was the breakfast. This was what I tried to research most about this hotel, and no real details could be found, therefore here's the low-down. The "continental breakfast" consists of sugary muffins, bagels (sometimes) and bananas. Besides coffee, tea, and orange juice, that was it. I'm sorry, but of all other hotels I've stayed at with a continental breakfast, none have been nearly this skimpy. The selection in my opinion should not be considered a breakfast, because it was just not close enough to a real breakfast since it was basically all sugar and no protein or anything of sustenance. This is the main reason that they only received three stars from me, since I was expecting something better to start my day with. I didn't personally get in the hot tub, but two others in my trip did, and they said it could've used a good clean; both water and tub surface. They were in it for a good fifteen minutes so it wasn't totally sketchy, but it definitely needed some TLC. Overall, if you're looking for a cheap, clean place with good service to stay, Silver Inn is your place, just do not expect a lot of extra frills or too much of a breakfast. read more

Stayed here for a week on a trip to check out the Colorado slopes. Very convenient location right off I-70 and close to Dillon and Frisco. It's also walking distance to the Silverthorne Transfer Center for Summit Stage Free Bus so it's easy to catch a ride to Keystone (Direct), Arapahoe Basin (transfer at Keystone), Breckenridge (transfer at Frisco Transfer Center), and Copper Mountain (transfer at Frisco Transfer Center.) The heating works well there and the WiFi has good coverage (with a lappy, at least.) There is free continental breakfast with muffins, bagels, coffee, and OJ. The front desk was very helpful arranging the room and also arranging shipping for an item that I had left behind which was A+++ ;) As another reviewer said, the hallways and lobby area has a cigarette smell which is annoying, but the room itself does not smell like cigarette smoke. IMHO, the best bang for the buck in the area. Can't beat their rates (even on late notice, their rates are the same!) read more

This is absolutely the most reasonable accommodations in Silverthorne! As previously stated in other reviews the complementary bottles of water were very nice! I think they get them at Costco but I don't mind because it's very thoughtful. The rooms are very basic and we got a room on the first floor. We never heard our neighbors above us though and we were close to the hot tub which is clean and a nice feature! The fact that it is private owned and kept up as well is quite refreshing. Best part is that the power outlets actually held onto my plug ins. The first thing you generally encounter in such an affordable hotel is that your electronics become unplugged very easily do to the disrespectful "Greyhound bus" crowd that you would think the low price would attract, but not at the Silver Inn. Soft beds, proximity to Target, free WiFi, clean sheets, breakfast, and hot chocolate are all great amenities! We WILL be back! read more
