Blood on the sheets
Marc B.

Disgusting. After a long day we got ready for bed and pulled down the sheets to find blood spots on the sheets.

This hotel met all my triple CCC requirements: Clean, Comfy and "Cheap". Since we were visiting Breckenridge and Copper Mountain this was the perfect go between. Vail is only about a 30 minute drive from here, so if you're planning a last minute trip and can't find a room like us, this is a great alternative. Located in Dillon this hotel was the only place we could find for our last minute ski trip. And the price...pricey on this holiday weekend but it was the only "reasonably priced hotel that had rooms! Normally, I would not pay so much for a comfort suites hotel but this is a popular ski area and we were here for just one night. Everything else was priced at $300 plus (Spring Break prices). Free breakfast was offered but since we were running late we did not enjoy. The dining room was crowded so I advise you get down early to partake for the full breakfast. The winner was the peaceful restful sleep I had and nice comfortable beds. A quiet room with a gorgeous view of the mountains was a plus. I saw an indoor pool. Front desk was friendly. Our room was spacious with two queen beds and a sitting area which offered a pull out sofa. Also, we left our cell phone in the room and it was returned! Thank you! Lots of nearby shopping and fast food restaurants nearby for quickie food stops. Overall, for a Comfort Suites with a friendly honest staff? Priceless. I'd return.

MY BACKGROUND - Okay so my 5-star rating of "as good as it gets" is for this sort of hotel, in the Choice Hotel line for average-priced rooms. I'm not comparing it to really high-end hotels. I've stayed in hotels quite often in the last 3 years, mostly on the east coast and most were Wingate, and I've stayed in some fancy places overseas, so my review is based on that. I'm also not the type of person who pays $72 for a room and takes notes on whether or not the fake chrome on my door handle was chipped. I can stay anywhere and don't complain a whole lot but I also DO take note of things for my reviews on here. STAFF - Was freaking awesome. First of all I can't say enough about how helpful and friendly the staff were. When I checked in the girl at the desk was very perfunctory and informative. She covered everything without taking forever, but also got her point across so that I knew what I was about once I walked away. At breakfast the morning all the staff kept everything filled and warm, asking if you needed anything. I needed to fax something and the new girl at the desk was very helpful and did it for me without question. HOTEL - The lobby was gorgeous, like a little lodge. The picture on the website looks just like the outside actually looks, down to the tree in front of it. This particular place is up on a bit of a hill which was nicer than some of the other places to stay because you had a better view! The lobby was clean and very homey. The pool and hot tub were also clean and really nice (indoors, both), although we didn't get in them. (Didn't have time but I walked around to look for this review). Outside the pool room was a deck or balcony but it was covered in snow and the weather was stormy/snowy so no one was out there. ROOM - The room was awesome. Looked just like the picture, even the size. Very cozy. The bathroom was awesome with granite countertops, a HUGE mirror, well lit. As I said I can stay anywhere but I cannot abide a nasty bathroom. My dad was with me and he's a custodian and is CONSTANTLY pointing things out (like fingerprints on the wall in the last hotel room) and even he'd said the place was clean. The towels and wash cloths were really soft and the shower was clean. Everything looked updated. The door slide closed and was sometimes sort of tough to open and close but not impossible. I liked it because it didn't swing in or out and take up more space. The place was pretty quiet despite being near capacity. Mini fridge and microwave at their own little bar in the entryway, and a tiny stainless steel coffee pot! BREAKFAST - The breakfast was the best we've had so far going across the country in Choice Hotels. Bagels, regular and cinnamon, sliced bread, English muffins, sausage patties, scrambled egg rounds, honey bunches of oat cereal, fruit loops, raisin bran, waffle and pancake makers, yogurt, cranberry/orange/apple juice, regular and decaf coffee, hot chocolate packets and hot water for it, and I believe milks and a couple other items. The price was awesome for a king size bed and pull-out couch. I got that bc there were two of us and it was the cheapest at $82 (but I got it for $72 by booking in advance). After taxes and stuff it was $80. I don't know what ski season is for them but this was on 11/18/15 and it had already been snowing since the end of October. It was getting busy and was filling up so I thought the price was fantastic. There were cheaper places in Dillon but not by much so when I searched in Choice Hotels, I chose this based on price and average rating.

Clean and simple. Standard chain hotel breakfast. Hot tub and pool were good. I would return.

Do they have shuttles to Breck and Keystone? Are the shuttles free if so?

There is not a hotel shuttle, but there is a bus system that goes around through those towns. Most of the buses are free. They have maps in the lobby as well as an app you can download for the bus system. It is the Summit Stage SmartBus app. I had… Read more

This is a total fabrication. She bullied real customer as a foreigner who didn't know local laws. The free parking across the street is convenient, and the smores each day from 5pm to 7pm are a lovely touch. There is a restaurant on site, Kucu Bistro, which offers Southwestern cuisine. This boutique hotel is a great option for us when skiing in the area, and we plan on going back next time!

Check in was a breeze as the team reached out ahead of our arrival to confirm when we'd get there. With their app I could even store my room key for a digital entry (sans physical key card). How good! The exterior parking lot is small tho they do offer underground parking. The fee to park per night was $15 - which was a non negotiable since I was there with someone for their surgery. The room was spacious and very clean. Restroom/shower were also easily accessible. We had a small kitchenette with everything we needed to enjoy a snack or little meal prepared in the room. The fridge was spacious and we were able to stock up on fresh and nutritious bites at the nearby city market. Breakfast buffet was awesome and available for a few hours. While I usually opted for the oatmeal and fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs they offered so much more. DIY breakfast burritos with sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs, cheese and various salsas. Not to mention toast, bagels, cereals, yogurt, coffee, juice, tea, etc. With your key card/digital access card you can enjoy their gym. Sparkling and clean with various cardio and weight equipment. I went down very early in the morning and someone was already there getting their sweat on. The hotel also has wheel chairs for use on site. Super helpful to get someone in the elevator and back up to the room after surgery. Overall great stay & interactions with staff who went above and beyond to make sure we're were comfortable and had everything we needed. Look forward to staying again and trying out their restaurant.

Our room was downstairs in building 2, which is the same building as the hot tub & sauna, just behind the office/breakfast room in building 1. Having the room directly open to the parking lot made it easier to get our winter sport gears in & out of the car. It was also nice to have the view of the lake through the window & when you walk out the door. Now, the accommodations. Coffee, tea, & granola bars were always available in the office, next to the reception desk - loved this! Breakfast options were 2 hot items (eggs & sausage/bacon), individually-packaged pastries, breads, peanut butter & jelly, oatmeal, yogurt, 3 types of fresh fruits, coffee, juices, milk, & nondairy milk. Loved that they had uncrustables in the pastry box. The room was spacious, with a kitchenette, medium sized fridge, wine opener, bottle opener, plates, cups, eating utensils, a baking pan, basic utensils & pots/pans for simple cooking & baking. It was nice to make & enjoy a quick warm meal in the comfort of your room after a day of skiing/snowboarding. There is a City Market grocery store (Kroger family store) less than 5 minutes away drive, past traffic lights. There are many stores & restaurants within 5-minute drive. The room pricing was reasonable for the provided amenities. We would definitely come here again.
