Only hotel we could find in the area that was decently priced. Hotel Minturn is only about 14 minutes from Beaver Creek so we were super impressed that it was not super pricey. The hotel is located in a cute little town and parking wasn't difficult since we found a lot a short walk away from the hotel. Check in was simple as email instructions were sent to us prior to our stay. With a passcode, we were able to get into our hotel, grab our key and get into our room without any extra hassle. Clean and decently sized room. Id definitely recommend staying at this hotel, ESPECIALLY if you wanna go to the ski resorts without paying ski resort price. :) (We also stayed in the fourth floor which is underground but we enjoyed the dark room when waking up)

Looking to spend a weekend in the mountains for our anniversary, but wanting to avoid the over the top charges of nearby Vail, we found Hotel Minturn. It's located five minutes from Vail Village in the cute, rustic town of Minturn. While it's a hotel by name, it feels very much like you're renting a private apartment in the mountains. There's no front desk or lobby and there are only 4 rooms in the 4-story building, which means the rooms are quite big. You're given a code to the doors and lock-box and are then free to come and go as you please. If you're familiar with airbnb, it feels like that, but the hotel is nearly brand new, the rooms are very clean and modern, and the king-size bed is seriously comfortable. We never saw or heard a single person in the Hotel during our stay - it felt like our home away from home. The location was really perfect for what we were looking for. We could see the mountains from our bed (we booked the premier room), there was a coffee shop directly across the street (and a Keurig in our room), a short walk to hiking trails, and just a quick drive to the heart of Vail and Beaver Creek. If you're staying for longer than a few days or during the winter, you may appreciate that the premier room has a mini-kitchen with a sink, microwave, and mini-fridge. Free Wi-Fi, free cable, free parking. The next time we're in the mountains, we will definitely be staying here again!

The rooms' cinderblock walls might remind you of your college dormitory days... or that time you were in jail. Everything is brown and it's not luxury. But, it's cheap! Last time I stayed at the Turntable, the police arrested a woman across the hall for violating a restraining order that her boyfriend had placed on her. Minutes before the police came knocking on the door, the boyfriend was overheard saying "Baby, let me in. I've got something for you. Come on baby! There are cops roaming around." So yeah, there might be some druggies, some illegal immigrants, but at under $50 for a double bed and a less than 10 minute drive to the best ski resort in the country, you can't go wrong. Don't forget to stop by the restaurant and check out their Elvis collection?! For some reason, they're proud of it.

Before we even got to the room, we got lectured by some guy who must live in one of the rooms. He bitched about what we were bringing in and went off on some insurance rant about how people like us cost the owner a fortune. I'm sure a door would be a fortune to the owner since the bathroom didn't even have one. Fortunately for us, we just got notice that the freeway opened, so we went back to the front desk before we even stepped in the room. I asked the clerk if we could check out and get some kind of receipt to prevent further charges, but she had no clue what we were talking about. She refused to give us anything in writing, so I wouldn't be surprised to find extra charges from this shady business. After all, this whole town seems actively hostile to anyone who isn't a local. Oh, and you'll get towed if you park in half the spaces in their lot.

All of our guests stayed here and everyone raved about the quality of accommodation, the attentiveness of service, superb amenities, exceptional on-premise dining, and the delight of ski-in / ski-out at a world-class mountain. The rooms here are very well appointed and the staff ensures that every possible need is attended to. From the crew at the valet station, the concierge desk (who host daily après ski hot chocolate and fresh-baked cookie parties!), the housekeeping team, the ski valets, the spa attendants, and all of the wonderful F&B folks, the service here is impeccable. The hotel amenities include an elegant spa, well-equipped gym, pilates and yoga studios, heated salt water pool, and three infinity hot tubs that are perfect for après ski soaking. Of particular note, the Westin has updated its Ski Valet shop which offers faultless service for those availing themselves of the Beaver Creek Ski resort. The valets bring your skis to the Gondola which is right outside the door! The lobby bar, the Lookout Bar, and the Stoke and Rye served our guests with superbly crafted food and drink. It should be mentioned that Chef Richard Sandoval is leaving so Stoke & Rye is being repurposed into an Italian eatery under the guidance of a new Chef - we look forward to experiencing this new venue. We held an arrival dinner for our guests in a private space - the Osprey Room - and the food, drink, and ambiance were exceptional. The room was cozy yet spacious and created a warm, welcoming environment for our guests who traveled from all three coasts. We want to make particular mention of our hostess, Sonja Eichenberger. Sonja managed every aspect of our affair, ensuring every dimension of a large party was attended to the last detail. Sonja listened to the Bride's comments and discerned solutions that were both creative and thoughtful. We had several dignitaries in our party - two Senators, a US Attorney, and a Fox News commentator - and Sonja saw to it that consideration was made for both their privacy and security. Much of the success of our special event rests with Sonja. The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Avon is an exquisitely fashionable property but it is the staff that makes the experience special. Thank you Sonja for making our week at the Westin a lifelong memory!

As with any Ski Town hotel worth its salt, the Westin also has a variety of food and beverage options. All of which (with possibly the exception of the lobby bar) are excellent. During the pandemic I understand you have to temper your expectations but this hotel was crazy understaffed. Like one person at the front desk and one valet. That was it. We had to get our bags to and from the room. There apparently was a ski valet but the front desk gave us no clue how to locate it. They just didn't know. They didn't take our skis there. It was plain weird. The signs in the hotel say no skis in the rooms but we had no choice! No one could tell us where the ski valet was. It was located in a non descript door by Christy's. We found it on day two. Also, no one could tell us where the illustrious ski bridge was that supposedly makes the hotel ski in and ski out. We figured it out on our last day of skiing. I believe it is called the Creekside Trail or something. Note the hotel is only ski in. And you have take off your skis to cross a fairly busy road. There is no skiing out from the ski bridge. The room was bigger than usual so that was good. But if the staff can't provide basic information about the hotel, given how much Marriott charges for this hotel, I can't recommend. It's just ok. Might as well stay at the Best Western in Eagle for a fraction of the cost and drive in.
