DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLES IN YOUR ROOM! Beautiful property, beautiful views and great location but that doesn't go against things going missing from your room. Was up there for a company retreat. My company gifted me a nice bottle of alcohol and placed it in my room. Left for the day for meetings and and evening get together. Came back to the room that evening - turndown service done, cookies in the room and the bottle of alcohol MISSING. Asked around - nobody knew anything. Put the privacy please sign up the rest of the stay. The day of checkout - before we even left the room housekeeping came into the room (again, with the privacy please sign still up) to start cleaning. Otherwise it was a great venue, the pool and hot tub was nice. The gym is open 24 hours and it's right in vail village where there is plenty to do.

This hotel is 5++++++ stars. I would highly recommend it to all! I won a night here off of an Instagram contest. I know, I always assumed they were rigged too, until I found myself getting to stay at one of the most highly rated hotels as a guest. The minute you walk in you are treated like royalty. Someone will greet you and welcome you to the hotel as the valet comes to collect your keys, and everyone with smiles. The front desk will check you in and offer to store bags if it's not check-in time yet, and tell you how happy they are that you chose to stay with them. Once your room is ready, the hotel will text you to let you know you can return. This was so convenient. We were also really pleasantly surprised once we actually entered the room. It was spacious and rustic, with a good sized balcony. The crown jewel of these rooms though? The bathrooms! They are exquisite. So much larger than expected with a huge tub and shower, all of the amenities you could ever ask for (forget your makeup wipes? No problem!) and most importantly, heated floors. Seeing marble tile floors your body immediately braces to step on a cool surface, so feeling warmth instead is such an indulgence. I'll admit I priced out adding heated bathroom floors to my home after indulging at the Sonnenalp. Leaving the hotel is so easy because it is conveniently located to just about everything. We had a less than 10 minute walk anywhere we went, including the Four Seasons for the famous Haute Chocolat, Vail Village for shopping and dining, and Vintage Vail for brunch. I clocked over three miles that day just wandering around, enjoying the town. Once we were done exploring, heading back to the Sonnenalp to enjoy the King's Club is an absolute must-do. The piano playing in the early evening is so romantic and calming, and you can enjoy a nice drink while you take it all in. We went for a 5:30 dinner at the Stuberl (also incredible), and when we left around 7:00 the King's Club was in full swing. The music had gotten more upbeat, complete with singing, and every table was taken with a line out the door. Such a fun atmosphere. We skipped and went back to the room because my husband had overindulged throughout the day, and headed to bed early. Around eight our doorbell rang, so I answered and was greeted by the nicest man handing me cookies and water for bed. I have stayed in a million hotels and NEVER had a service like this. It was so wholesome and just another example of how above and beyond they go. The Sonnenalp, and every single person we met that works inside of it, is and are exceptional. We would be incredibly lucky to get to stay here again, and I would highly recommend it to all who are traveling to Vail!

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Vail within walking distance of stores and great restaurants. The service is fantastic and the rooms very comfortable. I had several nights of sound sleep on a comfortable bed. I loved our little mini suite which was located on 2 floors with access to the king size bed via a spiral staircase. A nice gas log fireplace was the perfect ambiance for a cozy winter getaway. There's a humidifier in the room which is a must-use appliance with the air so dry in the mountains. And every night they come by with fresh baked cookies and extra bottles of water. I love this US-based swiss chalet and will definitely consider coming back.

Great hotel to stay in for Vail and is located in the village - would recommend to book early as prices definitely go up closer to the weekend! Thought the staff was very kind and helpful!! This hotel has more traditional vibes and fits the feel of the city!! We stayed in a suite that was spacious and the bathroom was large with a big bathtub and separate shower. It conveniently has 3 popular restaurants located within/attached to the hotel! They also have both an indoor and outdoor hot tub (though they both are on the smaller size, so wouldn't want more than 1 party in there at a time.) Of note they do charge an additional $50 resort fee per night. I enjoy getting a facial at the end of my ski trips, so did the same here. Got the standard facial and thought $180 (without tax/ tip) was a bit steep given the normality of it.

This review is specific to the spa. The location is great right in Vail Village. It sounds like they validate parking, but I don't know the details on that. Their lounge area while you wait for treatments is large and nice. However, the women's locker room is very small and I felt like I kept stepping over people in there. One big concern I had was no soap in the locker room/bathroom. With COVID, that should never be allowed to run out. The treatments themselves were great, but it was odd that there was an uncovered window in the massage room, so I didn't love the lack of privacy. My favorite part was the lounge chairs by the creek. I could've stayed there all day, but alas it rained :(. I wasn't sure if you could order food out there, so it would be nice if they proactively told you about that when you check in.

There are different types of rooms in the hotel. Some are managed by Marriott and others by property managers. We booked a two bedroom unit through booking.com. I assumed it was through Marriott but we were in a Vail Resorts managed unit. The place was nice. Plenty of space for our group of 4 to spread out. The 3 full bathrooms in the unit were nice. Good kitchen with a good ice maker. Also, great wifi. Very comfortable bed. Steam shower in the master bedroom. Cookies in the evenings in the lobby. Super nice staff! Why doesn't this place get the 5th star? Well, I think it could be a bit clearer with who manages what. When I checked in I asked to put my bonvoy number on the reservation. Nope, can't do that unless you book a Marriott room. Also, no daily housekeeping. Not a huge deal but would have been nice. Also, $50 or $55 a night, I can't remember, to park your car. That's outrageous in my opinion. Hot tubs didn't seem to be at 104.

My recent stay at Tivoli Lodge in Vail was unacceptable and far below the standards one expects from a property of this reputation and location. We checked in after a winter storm and were assigned room 403 on the fourth floor. The room was freezing, with a heating unit that did not function properly. After contacting the front desk, maintenance briefly attended to the issue, but the problem was not resolved. During the first night, the heat became excessive and uncontrollable. With a new and inexperienced front desk attendant on duty, and the likelihood that no maintenance staff would be available, we were forced to open the balcony door in winter conditions simply to make the room tolerable. During that same night, water began dripping/leaking from the ceiling. The following day, after returning from breakfast, the room had again become excessively hot. The thermostat still did not function. Maintenance was sent once more and noted they repaired it, but within minutes, significant water dripping leakage developed not just a minor drip, but a steady and concerning flow from the ceiling and wall framing in both the entry and bathroom areas. Our carpets were drenched our sock wet At that point, we had no choice but to demand a room change and were moved to room 405, , which was a much larger and nicer room. While the heating system there functioned properly, it still presented issues, including a broken closet handle another clear sign of poor upkeep. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. Housekeeping staff pressured us by their immediate presence to vacate quickly so the room could be reset, despite the hotel being nearly empty. This was unnecessary and inconsiderate. Shortly thereafter, a staff member returned and knocked aggressively on our door over a forgotten item. The manner was inappropriate and unprofessional. Although there were moments of professionalism particularly a mature front desk associate with a Caribbean accent who was pleasant, friendly, and helpful I would also like to recognize her more fully. She stood out as someone who was genuinely trying her best to be kind, attentive, and helpful under difficult circumstances. Her demeanor, patience, and willingness to assist were appreciated and reflected the level of service the hotel should consistently strive to provide. Unfortunately, the overall experience still reflected a lack of coordination, training, and accountability. In contrast, a late evening desk clerk was unable to provide even basic assistance in locating open dining options, citing unfamiliarity with the area. I understand that between-season periods can present operational challenges. However, if the resort is open, it should be fully prepared to serve and satisfy the guests it chooses to accommodate especially when occupancy is so low. We did not create these problems the hotel did. Yet at no point did we receive a strong or meaningful apology, nor any gesture to help ameliorate the situation. Both are not only appropriate but expected under these circumstances. As a result of these ongoing issues, we made the decision to leave on Thursday instead of Friday, as we felt it was simply not worth extending our stay to the schedule day. This only compounded our disappointment it was a choice we made based on our experience. I would also strongly suggest that management exercise better judgment when the hotel is operating at very low occupancy. In such circumstances, guests should be proactively upgraded to the best available rooms rather than being assigned rooms with known or even obvious deficiencies. This experience reflects poorly on the management of Tivoli Lodge. A property that is largely empty has no excuse for assigning a defective room, failing to resolve repeated maintenance issues, and handling guest disruptions so poorly. Tivoli Lodge is a beautiful property with a great location, but this was a sad and disappointing experience. PD ...I would also like to note a truly positive experience during our stay at The Little Diner, a Vail institution well known for its accolades in both service and quality of food, delivered an outstanding breakfast experience. His professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness were exceptional and stood in sharp contrast to the challenges we encountered at the hotel. Jose Pienknagura 602-321-2004 Josepienknagura@gmail.com

Here, I had to go to an owners portal (I'm not even an owner.... It took them a long time to process, and I wasn't sure if the second person was going to end up having issues checking in. I was a little confused as to where to pick up the shuttle though at the hotel. The hotel's listing claimed "luxurious mountain retreat", "elevated experience, "recent renovations" and showed beautiful photos, but my experience was nothing like what was advertised. We booked a 5-night stay for New Year's week to celebrate my birthday, paying $10,000 during peak pricing. We chose this hotel for its location over newer and less expensive options, only to be met with a room that was outdated, dirty, and poorly maintained. Room Conditions: * Stained carpets and walls * Damaged headboard and cracked bathroom tiles * Moldy, peeling wallpaper and a musty, moldy smell in the bathroom * Dirty towels, scratched lamps, toothpaste spatter on the mirror, and stained sink and counters * A broken deadbolt on the door Service: The service was equally disappointing. At check-in, I immediately reported the room's condition, but the front desk staff refused to assist, telling me to speak to a manager the next morning. Over the next two days, I spoke with several staff members, including those claiming to be managers, yet nothing was resolved. I was told no other rooms were available, and they could not do anything. I asked to check out early and cancel my remaining days of my prepaid stay. They did agree but I am still waiting for refund. One manager, Bryanna, was especially rude and dismissive, showing no willingness to help. The staff seemed inexperienced and untrained, which I later learned was due to new management. Final Thoughts: This stay has been a nightmare. I've wasted days of my trip trying to resolve these issues with the hotel and Expedia, and I am still waiting for a refund for the unused nights. On top of that, the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, with no alternatives offered. This hotel is overpriced, poorly managed, and far from the luxury experience it advertises.
