Over the recent March spring break, I had an amazing time skiing at Keystone, Vail and Breckenridge. When I finished skiing Vail (day 2 of my 3-day pass), I put my personal skis on the resting rack and went inside to my locker. When I came back, my skis were gone. Next to them however were a similar, but clearly not the same pair of K2s with a sticker on them with some renter's name. It didn't take long to put two-and-two together -- renter was being negligent and picked up the wrong skis. Vail Security was very nice and contacted the rental company (Charter) for verification of the renter's name and information. Go figure, those K2s left behind wound up in Vail's lost-n-found box that night and my skis went missing for over 24 hours. By the time they were returned to this Charter, I was already heading out of town but was assured they'd FedEx my skis. One week later, no skis... Called this Charter and got TJ, the "manager" who told me that they hadn't shipped my skis out yet because they were waiting on a box to fit them. WTH? Pretty sure in a land of skis, there's a box hanging around or two. Either way my ski season is over so while waiting for them is annoying, it's not a huge deal. But then the next words out of this guy's mouth floored me... Guy: "So shipping is going to be $27. Is that OK?" Me: "Yes, that's fine, but I'm not paying for it." Guy: "Well, we're not paying for it." Me: "Well, the renter who took my skis needs to pay for it then." Guy: "Unfortunately, they're long gone by now." Hmm...if anyone has ever rented skis you know you have to give the rental company all your information. I hope this Charter has enough good business sense to have written that information down. On top of the fact that the renter not only took someone's skis, but they left behind their rentals in Vail -- I've got to imagine that this so-called business has a hefty penalty fee for lost skis and similar situations. So the way I see it, Charter is in possession of my personal skis which were taken by someone who they rented skis to and is now holding them for ransom to cover the cost of shipping. Horrible standing that has sadly come down to us having to get the police involved. If I could give zero stars, I would, but instead I'll just say rent from the other resorts -- it's clear this business (or at least, location) doesn't want to be accountable for its services.

We had paid for 4 days in good faith, but the manager said he would not make an exception. He offered a comp day, but we're not locals. How would we use it? Apparently, in the fine print, when you sign the liability release, you agree to no refunds for early returns. The shop was clean, the employees were competent, and the equipment was good. But I would have appreciated an exception as a good will gesture.

Reached out with email and 24 hrs before the end of the sale I book lodging on my own. He reached back out like why didn't we call him... we should not have to chase our travel agent. I said my apologies I understand it may not be worth your time to help us anymore. He said sure I can get lifts and gear etc. I said wonderful. After a week of back and forth we agreed on a schedule. I later asked maybe see if we can get car included. Told him we may or may not get it we just want to see pricing. he quoted for that. Later we found out that we could get free car with point so wanted to proceed. He literally calls use after he had already taken our cc number "before we asked about car" and told us we should figure out ourselves. This is 2 days before Sept 2 when Florida is about to get hit with a major hurricane. I could have made arrangements elsewhere in advance and taken my time. Now i have to figure out how to do all on my own while putting hurricane shutters very inconsiderate. I was excited to find a vacation planner that could do it all even if for the years to come. But I will never use this company again. Instead of being upfront he wasted my time and too my credit card information. Very unprofessional and sketchy. Very disappointing .

I've grilled twice now at Henry's Hut: once last year during a late season blizzard and last…read moreweekend on a 50-degree blindingly sunny day. I'm not sure which was more fun. Last year, the little teepee-like warming hut was packed to the gills with big groups of friends drying off, staying warm and gathered aroung huge carved wooden chairs and tables eating feasts I had a hard time believing people could haul up in a backpack. Sandwiches, fruit, veggies, salads, chips, cookies, brownies, wine, beer, champagne...in fact one table had what looked like an entire full bar with mixers. The big grill outside - in spite of whiteout conditions and freezing cold temps - was full of burgers, brats, buffalo, elk loin, venison, shrimp, veggie skewers, etc. Everyone inside shares condiments, plates, napkins and the like. There's even a microwave. This past Saturday, the hut was empty and everyone was gathered around the grill or sitting in chairs or snow drifts soaking up the sunshine, with beers and wine plopped in the snow to chill. Henry the dog is always there looking for a pat on the head or an extra bite of snausage. The best part is seeing so many people in costume. I think some people make a day of hanging out at the Hut, and don't even ski much. You only have to take two lifts up (Vista Bahn and Mountaintop Express) to get here and you could easily take cat tracks back to the base of the Village, which explains all of the small children wearing butterfly wings who can barely toddle around. Henry's is much easier to access than the grills at Belle's Camp in Blue Sky Basin. You're at the top of three lifts so you can take runs while you leave someone to man your food on the communal grill. The front side of Vail Mountain is tough for an average/timid snowboarder like myself to navigate, full of steep black diamond runs or flat cat tracks, but hanging out with friendly people at Henry's Hut for an hour or two can absolutely make the day worthwhile. We traded swigs of whiskey for chips, pretzels for bites of aged cheese, buns for beers. I was almost able to block out that just a short time after my grillfest, I slid down the iciest part of Riva Ridge on my butt and looked like a fool.

I went back to the store a week later after purchase and was told that because they're owned by Vail Resorts, there's nothing they can do to help find a repair solution i.e. a provide a new snap. I do not recommend this store as they don't stand behind the products they sell.

Convenient location but terrible at communicating. We got to breck early the day. Score to pick up…read morerentals. Strolled around town, as it said we had to pick up after 3pm. Got to the shop at 4:50 and they wouldn't let us pick up. Said the cutoff for pick up is 4:45 but nowhere on the website or reservation confirmation does it say that. Seems like a very narrow window for pick up. Now we need to pick up in the morning which I'm sure will be a s&@t show.

Just so everyone knows if you are going to do any activities don't stay at this place they'll have you pack out in the middle of the day telling you that you do not have a place to stay that night. They ended up getting us a place to stay but it was stressful and we missed out on other cool things that we had planned.

There aren't even enough seating at the dining table for 9 people. i was expecting a bit better kitchen...the "GE" appliances they were boasting on the website were very old, the dishwasher couldn't even completely clean the dishes on the upper rack. Not all the bldgs have the public hot tub. If you are on the west bldg, you have to walk to the east bldg to use the bldg amenities. the location was ok, but it's not really within walking distance to the slopes like our booking agent told us.. the garage was really weirdly designed. So each unit has an assigned garage spot. but since it's a condo building, i was expecting a common entrance to the garage area, instead of individually separated garage space. So it was really hard to find the actual garage assigned to our unit when we arrived in the evening.
