They've let me demo boots and skis until I found the perfect equipment for me at unbeatable prices. They keep our skis in perfect shape. I was planning on spending a metric ton of money here because they had the exact skis and boots I wanted and my cousin recommended this place. They messed up and screwed with the wrong man. This is the hidden gem of ski rentals at Lionshead Village in Vail. They are just a two minute walk from the lifts. They will also store your skis at their shop so that you don't have to lug them around. The people there were really nice and helpful. They seemed like they really enjoy helping skier, unlike some of the other rental shops. The prices are really good. They offer multi-day discounts. Extremely terrible customer service, rude and inefficient. We waited an hour and half to get ski rentals only to find out they didn't fit right. We came back the next day asking where we can get refitted, the guy behind the counter (Keith is the name I think) started speaking really loudly and impatiently directing us to another area. When we tried to ask if we need to stand in the rental line to get refitted, he started shouting and ridiculing us so the entire store were looking at us. Saying things like "everyone is getting refitted" "I'm not having this conversation" and ignored our further questions. We asked to see the manager and Keith ignored us as well. When we finally found the manager, we could tell he was annoyed and showed no empathy with our experience. But at least he listened, wasn't rude, and showed basic courtesy. This is a perfect example of a management that don't know how to handle proper company culture. Reading the other reviews with similar experiences (there are lots), this place clearly don't understand how to run a customer service-based store. Don't expect these guys treat you with respect because they don't care and they don't know better. There are so many other stores a few steps away that will value your business. But if you have to go there, try to avoid Keith if possible. read more

I went to about 6 shops when looking for boots, and from the start Phil and his staff were super patient and had to best option to demo boots for a day or two before buying them. They stock all boots new, which are available to test for demo days. This means you can go back and forth to the mountain trying 3-6 boots in a day. I was about to buy a pair of boots from another shop by Nordica, which would have been a huge mistake. I tried them out here and after two runs I was about to cry. I tried on a few more and then found an amazing pair of Lange boots, which fit right out of the box! They explained to me how other shops do custom fittings, and heat molding, but alot of that was fluff and the best would be to find a boot that fit out of the box. Tooth, Jeff and Barry were all super helpful. Barry was the one who rang me up in the end and was super nice, but Tooth was super patient getting all the boots out for me while the shop was super busy. They adjusted my skis each time and then put them outside for me too. Their shop dogs are also awesome, and are two golden good boys 8 ) Overall I will be back to rent my skis from them now, since you can store your skis and shoes too and walk pretty close to the moutain. I highly recommend them based on their service and prices! The boots were a great deal and Phil was really nice to match pricing on what else was out there. read more

When I first started coming to Vail I was a little nervous as I was a beginning snow boarder. The staff here went out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable. Not only did they take the time to measure me with my board switch my boots out to see if I liked them like 3 times and mesure me in my bindings .... but then after my first day on the mountain they took the time to adjust and readjust my bindings (switch out my boots again when I mentioned they were a little uncomfortable). They made me feel like there was no shame in switching and they wanted to make sure that I was the most comfortable that I could be. All the staff really goes out of their way to help you but the 8 years that I have been coming here, Keith has been our go to guy. Ski Tech is an amazing outfit. They are a 5 star experience where we rented everything from head to toe from helmet, gloves, clothing to skis and snowboard. The entire team (except one, explained in a bit) was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and a special call out to the incredibly affable Mike Parker who not only guided us in our fitting but went beyond with his soothing mental predation with my wife for her very first ski experience. Every one was especially patient, understanding, answering all of our questions, providing advice, and making sure everything fit perfectly. Really could not ask for more. Unfortunately, the knock in stars comes from the 5 minute experience with a guy named Nick when we went to return our gear. He was a complete jerk when we needed help with the googles we purchased. Not friendly, crap attitude, not patient, in fact, he abandoned us in the middle of "helping" us. He earns the distinction of being the only jerk we encountered on our otherwise dream trip and that includes the TSA folks at the airport. Sadly, like a sh!t stain on a dream white wedding dress, it's truly a bummer but still a brown stain. Aside from Nick which I would immediately ask for anyone, even cute Mr Sugar would be more helpful, could not more highly recommend Ski Tech for Vail rental as they will make your experience super easy, pleasant, and fun. read more

First time renting here and was really just looking for the lowest price option. I found this place to be the most affordable option throughout vail. I reserved online a week before my actual reserved ski days. You can pick up the day before you ski which is always a nice option. Staff was friendly but they are pretty busy inside and it took a bit of time to get help. Once I was, the whole process of getting fitted for ski boots and skis took only 15 minutes so that was efficient. Equipment was high performance for a low price. Nestled in the corner of the re-vamped Lionshead is a place that should be THE place for you to rent your gear. Probably the best demo packages around the area.. And the even better part is they have a "wish list" at the end of the season where you can buy some of the gear. I haggled last year and bought a new pair of boots, some uber thin socks... and got a phone call last week that my wish came true! And a pair of Nordica Phenoms with beautiful bindings were all mine at a ridiculously shaved price. The guys and girls inside this place are super helpful and trust me, PATIENT. Summer time, these dudes are there to rent you some bikes and drop your ass off at the top of Vail Pass so you can cruise down.. except for that one spot where you go up hill. And it sucks. Overall. This is the best ski rental service I've used in over 20 years. The equipment are either new or very well maintained and fairly new. The people who work here know what they're doing, from the guys fitting you to the young ladies at the cash register. They work hard and do not waste any time. The prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent. Storing boots overnight was reasonably priced and they have an efficient system that gets people in and out fast. We rented from Vail Ski Tech for four days while skiing. Super friendly and helpful staff, very efficient and quick to get you in and out everyday for more time on the slopes. Location is a short walk from the LIonshead gondola. Prices are competitive and they give you good discounts for multi-day rentals. My sister and her fiance had to leave town due to a family emergency so didn't use their rentals. The staff there refunded their money without hassel which was really great. This business is bad. Rented mountain bike for two days and returned it after 2.2 miles. The bike was in poor condition and did not realize until 1 mile up the vail mountain. The middle age fat fan could not find me a replacement that worked so he got agitated and charged me for 1/2 day ($48)for 2.2 miles. He also questioned my integrity and accused me of damaged.
