We walked in and were welcomed by a Boxer and Goldie super cute dogs. Quickly fitted for bikes. In our drive up to Vail pass our driver Nick took extra care in pointing out turns for our bike ride back to Vail. Super fun ride took us about an hour an half. All for $34 each. We stopped at the Vail golf course on our bike ride. A great view and nice HH. read more

Five of us rented from Vail Bike Tech. They were super helpful and had the bikes ready for us. We just needed to have them fit and then loaded up on the van. In the meantime we let the Golden and the St Bernard. They were very informative and attentive. We have ridden the East bound Vail bike pass several times and loved it. One note, the west bound was way more steep and challenging. We had a beginning rider and he did crash when a biker passed him on a steep curve. He was scraped up and the other biker hurt her ankle. Then the bike trail goes along the highway for a mile at the top of Vail pass. It was hot, lots of exhaust, and definitely not enjoyable or super safe. The bike path also goes along a road, which was fine for the 13 year old but a little concerning if we had taken little kids. The last half of the trail was beautiful. As much as I love the east bound Vail pass bike trip I will not do the West bound Vail pass bike trip again. But the bike shop was wonderful. read more

We've been renting from them for 5 or 6 years and are regularly renters of various types of bikes when travelling. They always do an excellent job having the bikes ready and getting you both in and out as fast as possible. That process, while always good, seems to get better each year. We rented Scott e-mountain bikes this year and the bikes and helmets were in very good and clean condition and sized perfectly for us. You get no bike shop attitude from them, which is so common elsewhere. Be sure to test out the dropper posts if you get a mountain bike. Both of ours worked, but only with a lot of force and using my entire hand to push the oddly located lever. It should work with just one finger. While anxious to help, they typically don't have much detailed trail advice on the various trails that are not on the Vail map or advice on avoiding the many closures and re-routes on the mountain this year. My guess is that almost every customer is just heading up and down the standard Vail mountain trails, so they seldom have to give advice on all the other nearby trails. Their answer is always "I don't really ride around here, I go down to Eagle". Will continue to be a regular customer. read more

We stated at the lift house, so it was convenient for us to rent our bikes from them. And we glad we did over the other places. They were super helpful and nice. They didn't try to ripe us off when we came back a little past the hour, since rentals were by the hour. We rented a tandem bike 1st day had had a blast with it. Day 2 we rented a couple of hard tails and rode up the mountain and back down. Highly recommended place for rentals for your biking activities. read more

In late July I took my first family trip to Vail, Colorado and was not disappointed! We had beautiful weather the entire 10 days of our vacation. This included the day we rented 5 bikes (which were in great condition). Our friendly shuttle driver dropped us at the top of Vail Pass and we enjoyed our ride down the trail through beautiful mountainscape, over the Gore River, and past a house with a sod roof! Today myself and three friends rented two mountain bikes and two cruisers. This shop was amazing. They came out to great us immediately and were just so friendly. They helped size us up with the perfect bikes, offered free helmets. Then they helped recommend the most perfect bike path. Both guys working so friendly, and the dog misty was there to send us on our way. Affordable prices and perfect experience. We went a little over an hour and they only charged us for one. Rented 2 bikes here during vacation. The guy we dealt with was kind of a dick to us (two women who are avid cyclists) and tried to rent us some crappy cruiser bikes. We finally picked out the bikes we wanted and the guy didn't even know how to fit them (deep eyeroll) so we just ignored him and did everything ourselves. They weren't the greatest bikes and I wish we had gone someplace else, frankly, but my friend just wanted to get it done. The one I got had bad rear brakes. I didn't notice until after we left the shop, so I just sucked it up and pointed it out to them when I brought the bike back. A place that rents out bikes that aren't thoroughly safety tested is a bad business. Period. I'd find another place in town. Every ski shop rents bikes. read more

Easy to find bike rental in Lionshead. Rented two adult bikes for half day for $43, which included tax. The guys were super helpful (which I appreciate since they're reciting the same spiel over and over, day after day). They set us up with a couple of bikes, gave us the quick tutorial on how to use the gears, etc, suggested a couple of trails and patiently answered our questions. Our rental was slightly longer than the "half day" (defined as 3-4 hours), but upon our return they only charged us the half day rate, which I appreciate. Also, upon renting bikes two days later (an impromptu decision), they went ahead and automatically applied a 30% discount to our rental. Bonus. Definitely rent from this place! read more

Great inventory for bikes. We rented mountain bikes (some with dual-shocks, and with front shocks only) for our group based on skill level. When some came back early from a day of mountain biking, Vail Tech was nice enough to pro-rate the earlier returns. The following day we rented some really excellent road bikes for a trip into Edwards from Vail. Rates were great again and the bikes excellent quality. Great, reliable service. read more

I recently did the bike tour on the Vail bike path with these guys and it was wonderful! The van driver gave great, helpful information since a section of the path is under construction, and I felt free to cruise along with no worries! The scenery is awesome and the route the path follows is easy to moderate for someone in mild-medium physical shape like I am. A few small inclines but doable and I felt great as a result! My wife and I rented bikes twice this week - first just to ride around the valley and again for a Vail Pass ride. The first day, the tandem bike didn't suit me. VBT was very busy but found a way to fit in adjusting a 20 year old mt. bike, fixed our flats, renting us 2 mt. bikes, making adjustment recommendation that enhanced performance on our own bikes. Answered all our questions, smiled while handling us as that processed incoming and outgoing rentals. We planned ahead and booked online a week prior to arrival....they called us back to confirm deatils, and everything we completely ready when we arrived at shop. Prices are half the price of other bike rental shops in village (even 2 on same sidewalk near them). Bikes are great quality, and provided reliable dependability of bikes. Rudest bike shop in Vail. If you are 2 minutes past the 4 hour mark they will charge you for a full day. Go to Wheel Base and rent. Asked if I could call them when the gondola opened and was informed that wasn't acceptable and could only go back to get the bike when it opened. This is very verifiable and Wheel base and Lionshead rentals were ok with a call when the gondola opened. read more

I have rented from this place for years. I will NEVER come back in summer or winter when I bring my family to Vail. Customer service and treatment has badly deteriorated. Over the the last three years the employees have become rude to the point of belligerent. One in particular is a total horse's behind. That is how they treat a loyal customer. Buyer beware. Thoroughly check the bike. Apparently the experts that run the rental shop have no responsibility for giving you the bike in a safe condition. My brother received a bike with two loose peddles and one screw was stripped. That pedal fell off when my brother was riding the bike. When we returned the bike and asked to speak to the manager, he said my brother signed a full waiver and the condition of the bike was his responsibility and was more concerned about his "man hours" and the cost of the rental than his customers' well-being. Came to Vail with my family and this bike trip with this company was by far the highlight of our trip to Denver. JJ, our guide, couldn't have been more friendly and more informative. The bikes we used were in excellent shape, and were the most comfortable bikes we had ever been on! However, what made the experience, the best ever was the outstanding scenic view Trail that was easy and mostly downhill. We hit the fall colors and it was sensational to say the least!
