I came here in a panic after asking friends to come to La Biblioteca for a random group drinks thing (LB was crowded, dark, and loud - not what I had in mind). It seemed quite crowded post-work despite snowfall, but my table of 2 grew quickly to 3, then 4, then 12! The staff were very accommodating and did what they could to keep us happy, even if sometimes orders had to be made twice. Upon seating you get complimentary chips and salsas - definitely seemed homemade with one being more spicy. There is a huge margarita list, including a sugar free estevia one, and you can get a tequila tasting flight for a reasonable $11, considering it seems like way more tequila than just ordering one! The table next door had a ginormous goblet of sangria that looks fun to try. I did not have any food but everything I spied on other tables looked tasty, including sliders and tacos. I think this is a fun spot after work, and I liked the vibe. Also, unlike the aforementioned abandoned venue - it was bright, airy, and great for groups to hear each other talk! read more

My cousin and I grabbed food here during the U.N General Assembly last month. Despite the ever looming spectre of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, we made it to Sinigual for dinner. Right when you get settled, they put awesome warm tortillas on the table with two kinds of salsa and queso fresco. All restaurants should do this. Why settle for chips when you can build your own snack? We started with margaritas, which had shots of tequila added to them table-side. One of the better ones I've ever had. We then ordered chicken taquitos. This cousin and I have a running joke about taquitos, due to an unfortunate incident involving a handle of vodka, a midget and frozen TGI Friday's appetizers. I've already said too much..but these were delicious. For dinner, I had the carnitas (slow roasted citrus pork). The portion was large and it had tons of flavor. We also shared some awesome yuca fries. This atmosphere here is slightly Midtown scene-y, but certainly not as bad as Dos Caminos. I thought the food was better here. And no one tried to overthrow the Shah! read more

This restaurant seems to be always crowded and so noisy like 99.9% of restaurants in NYC. Bar is always crowded and like I've complaint before on other Mexican restaurants, what's up with the lack of mariachi music?!! Geez, all I hear is pop rock if you can hear it at all. I have yet to find a Mexican restaurant in NYC with great mariachi music. I guess my search shall continue. As for the food, wow it was DELICIOUS! Almost gave them 5 stars, but sorry the noise level and not having authentic Mexican music was a bummer. But hey, 4 sparkling stars is Awesome! Service from hostess to waiters was excellent and btw LOVE the guac being made right in front of you, it's delicious! Portions are huge and prices are fair. I totally recommend this place if you're looking to eat some great Mexican food! read more

We are aware of the stress that Covid restrictions are placing on restaurants today, but nothing can excuse the terrible experience that we had last night . We ordered on Postmates, and that had a $25 "service charge" for the privilege. OK, bad enough, but of 3 entrees only 1 arrived correct. And a side dish was also wrong. Items were missing, or just substituted by the restaurant. We ordered corn tortillas with each entree, and received flour tortillas instead for 2 people who are gluten intolerant. When we phoned the restaurant for assistance, a rude manager told us to contact Postmates for help. Postmates did refund a small amount of money, but that is not the point. What is that $25 service fee for?? To ensure we get the wrong dishes?? Do not order from Sinigual. And find a delivery service that does not charge $25 to merely send emails to find out if we are satisfied. read more

Good food but over priced. We had to wait for our server for a while but eventually he stopped by... not sure but most likely we won't be back. Also the surcharge... not cool. read more

One of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE Mexican restaurants! They are very decently priced, have a nice range of drinks, especially Tequila based ones. My absolute fave part is the unlimited freshly baked warm tortillas that they just keep coming. Those paired with their honey butter--BEYOND!!! The entrees are also superb. I particularly love when we get Artemio as our waiter. He always makes a great presentation of the Chef specials for the day. And those specials NEVER disappoint! A must try is the Cadillac Margarita and for desert the flan. I kid you not, the BEST (after my mother's, of course). The only issue I have with this restaurants is that their drinks take quite a while to hit ur table. Besides that a must! read more

Do you care about your servers? If so, I would stay away from Sinigual. The manager there suggested our server would get fired for fixing up our drinks that were way too watered down. I'm referring to the happy hour margaritas - both the servers and managers admitted to these being weak, pre-made, and fed through the soda fountain. Our server was just fixing what was wrong by giving us regular strength drinks. Are you that cheap that you can't put thirty cents of alcohol in?... and then wanting to fire your employee for doing what's right? The manager even suggested that if we wanted a regular strength margarita we pay the $15 for one... wow. Please stand up for the employees (and your booze) and avoid this place. read more

My friends and I had the table-side guacamole as an appetizer. The woman who was making it was definitely slacking off b/c she didn't mix it very well so some portions of the guacamole were perfectly seasoned with salt and spice, but others were just blah. We ended up mixing it up ourselves so that the taste would be more consistent. For an entree, I chose the fish tacos which were excellent. My only complaint on them was that they had feta cheese which didn't really go well with the chipotle/cilantro sauce they had on the fish tacos. But that aside, the fish and the ingredients tasted very fresh. My friends really enjoyed their dishes as well. As a treat we tried the fried ice cream - yummy! I highly recommend. For a drink I had the white sangria which was tasty, but I couldn't finish it b/c I was so full from the meal. One thing I noticed was there were alot of Indians in this joint. They were all sorta seated near each other - it was just kinda funny and hard not to miss especially if you're Indian. read more

Only judging the bar! I've been here for a few happy hours with my sister and her coworkers. We always have a good time. If you like margs, try them here. I'm more of a scotch or vodka person so I don't get to into it. The bar space is decent, well decorated and has a nice vibe. Definitely a good spot to stop by before heading out on the town. read more

The guacamole guy is very pissed. He need a vacation. Not happy at all. Let's see how the rest of the food taste. The guacamole is really bad the avocado are ripped enough. We literally asked him not too much lime but he did the opposite twice. Because of that guy not coming back here. Fucking ruined my night and appetite. read more

This place was promising when I got in. I ordered room temperature water, never got it.. but that was ok because the "ilegal mezcal joven" was a delight. My friend went the safe route with glass of sangria, I drunk a lot of it I must say. We ordered a "grilled shrimp" and a "seasoned yucca fries" to start, and never got past that... Im no chef but I had made better yucca fries without even trying. Great atmosphere tough. And good music. read more

This place is right next to my work. We came here for a team dinner on Friday for lunch, and the place was packed between 12-2pm. Very surprising considering how big the place is and how many people they can accomodate in the restaurant, and they had just opened for 2-3 weeks. Everything is new (obviously) which makes you want to dine there, and there is a big painted mural on the wall which brings the place to life. The spicy guacamole is excellent, and they prepare it on a cart for you to see with fresh avocado. The taquitos were also pretty good too. I had the 'Dos Favoritos' which was great. The chicken enchilada and the beans were good. I couldn't say anything bad about the service either. Our waiter was very attentive in answering questions and making sure our glasses were never empty. The prices aren't bad either for what you are getting. Definitely big portions for lunch at around $15 per plate. Can't wait to come back here again. The food next door at Public House is gross. There aren't many dine-in spots in the area so I'm glad the Grand Central hood is getting more places! read more

Margaritas!!! Midtown surprisingly does have some decent margaritas. Sinigual is the most decadently decorated and largest of the bunch. Their list of tequilas go on and on. I have had at least 3 different varieties and watched as other tried 5 different kinda in one night. All a thumbs up. Food was yummy too. read more

This is is UNREAL! Chips, guacamole, margs you name this place has it ALL. I live in Brooklyn and I specifically make the trek into Manhattan for this place it's that good. If you go- make you you ask for Alan. He's an amazing waiter, and super attentive. I can't say enough good timings about this place!!!! read more

I went here based on a friend's strong recommendation and it.was.great! A- it's in an area close to grand central without many good restaurant options B- it's large C- food was so tasty! First: they bring some tortillas and two types of salsa when you sit down. Yum, salsa, my fave. Then our group was split on mild vs spicy guac, so we got medium but they brought us a side dish of sliced jalapeños that we could add as we pleased = yay! And they brought extra chips once we finished the first small basket chips were a little thin, so if you like thicker ones, you're out of luck. In my mind the thinner chips must mean lower calorie (every little bit helps...) so I'm a fan. Main dish: FAJITA SALAD. So good!!! I got it with shrimp, minus dressing, add red salsa. Get it. I want to go back. Other things people got was the tortilla soup, chicken & shrimp fajitas, and steak fajitas. Everyone raved about their food. Oh and we had some sort of "skinny margarita". My friend ordered it for both of us so I'm not really sure what it was or if it was skinny, but if it was, great read more

Maybe I've been spoiled living in California, but this was not great at all...I was stuck in Midtown so opted to try a high end Mexican place. The ambiance, service all great. And the guacamole is also pretty well done. But the chips are crappy and the salsas meh. The entrees are waaay overpriced and super salty. Hours later, I felt like I had eaten cheap Mexican, just felt icky, and so did my husband. read more

Sinigual and not in a good way. This restaurant is big and in what seems to be a good location, the decor is really nice but that's where good things end. The guacamole is super bland and not good at all! Granted we did not want it to be spicy... not sure if that made a difference but it shouldn't! It lacked everything. The meal wasn't much better! My table had the ribs, chicken and fish tacos and beef. The desserts are pretty but again, nothing special. The waiter we had was not in the best of moods and didn't come back to refill water so we had to ask someone else. He did return a lot to check after he gave us the bill! With so many great Mexican restaurants to choose from I would not consider this one again. Nothing was good or memorable enough to warrant a return. read more

Pretty place but mediocre food and service and especially if you come in during the last hour before they close. Then you get that---I KNOW YOU DIDN'T JUST WALK IN HERE 20 MINUTES BEFORE WE CLOSE---look. So I met a few girlfriends here after work. We ordered the table side guacamole but they didn't do anything table side. Suddenly a bowl of guacamole was placed on our table and we never got the pleasure of watching them make it and asking them to add a little more this or not so much of that. The food looked amazing but was just okay. I ordered the Shrimp Diabla. I just thought my food was a little salty. The flavors were ok but nothing special. I also ordered a Jalapeño margarita which was also just okay. I wasn't really impressed with anything. Our waiter got better as the night passed but when we initially arrived, I felt like he was annoyed. Then he changed and perked up a bit which made the night a little better as far as service. Still, the food was just okay. read more

Turning the rain into a fiesta... I walked in feeling cold and wet on a Friday evening and was greeted by a super friendly hostess. My friend and I were led to the back of the restaurant to a cozy table overlooking the open kitchen, so we would be warm. It took us forever to order, but our server was sweet, patient and just the right amount of attentive. We were so engrossed in our food and conversation we didn't even notice that by 8 p.m. the place was packed. The same friendly hostess also guarded my friend's umbrella that she had absentmindedly left on a bench near their waiting area. How can you not want to come back here??? My only critique was the initial server who greeted us just as we sat down. He wanted to take our drink order right away and we said we needed a couple of minutes to settle in. Within two minutes he had returned to ask if we were ready. This wasn't the mark of an eager server who didn't want to keep us waiting. He had an annoyed look on his face and seemed pressed for time. When we were introduced to our new server shortly thereafter, I realized he was trying to get in our order quickly for other reasons. My friend was bothered by the aggressiveness and reiterated that we just needed a little more time. This is a small thing, but enough to make what could have been great service, good. read more

Laz the bartender at Sinigual made the best Margheritas. Great prices on the weekends!!!

This is my go-to place for dinner/drinks when meeting up with folks. I love it because it is right next to Grand Central so the location is always convenient and very accessible to pretty much everybody. Their sangrias are strong (I recommend getting them by the glass instead of the pitcher since it feels like you actually get more sangria per dollar that way). The guac is made at your table and is always light and a great start to your evening. I have had a few of their food items and they have never disappointed. The location is pretty popular but I have never had to wait too long to get seated. It also looks fancier than what the menu prices suggest which is a nice kick. I've also just sat at the bar and the bartenders are pretty helpful. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Great service and delicious drinks! I got an appetizer and it was good too. Big portion definitely a full meal

I went here a couple of months back. I remember only two things about it... 1. The lobster quesadillas were excellent. I don't know what kind of sauce they drizzled on top, but I'd love to squirt it all over my body and lick myself for hours, on a lazy Sunday. 2. The massive roach that crawled across the floor into the booth across from me, right before we left. I guess you can't avoid vermin in most restaurants. If you're willing to accept that idea, then I'm sure you could create your own lasting memories with some of the other dishes on the menu. However, I think I'm done with Sinigual memories for now. read more

Met a friend here for dinner on 11/5. The prices are pretty steep and unfortunately the service was subpar. After waiting 20 minutes to place our order we had to ask 3 different people to get our waiter and the third person took the order for us because we were clearly annoyed. The guacamole was also disappointing and I'm a huge fan of guacamole. While fresh, it lacked flavor which could have been resolved with a little salt. The salmon and skirt steak also lacked flavor and we had to ask for a salt shaker which I never do. And honestly for $15 I expected a better margarita. Total bill for 2 was $145- I cant say I'd ever come back. read more

Wow. I just had some amazing chipotle ribs, so tender and juicy that they literally fell off the bone. The barbecue sauce, with a hint of raspberry, was delicious. It came with salty yucca fries and buttery corn on the cob. And went well with a mojito. Overall, it was actually too much deliciousness for me to finish after a day in the office. Now, to be fair, not everything I've tried has been as flavorful. But that meal put Sinigual firmly on the list for an upscale, businesslike lunch or a somewhat more festive dinner in the Midtown East neighborhood. read more

The margaritas were banging. I am definitely coming back. The bar is super nice and the whole set up of the restaurant is outstanding.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant, conveniently located near midtown. I love all the food here, especially the fajitas - I usually get the combo which is steak, chicken and shrimp. I highly recommend the steak nachos as an appetizer. Be careful not to fill up on chips, so as not to overshadow the very good food. In addition to chips and salsa, they also have warm tortilla and butter. The apps and sides are must - the chicken tortilla soup, the cilantro rice and especially the yucca fries. The decor is attractive and open. It is good for groups or an intimate party. The bar is great if you're waiting for someone or just grabbing a drink. Ronnie, the bartender is very professional and attentive - just like the all the servers here. Great spot. read more

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Manhattan! I'm generally not a huge fan of Mexican food, but love this place for a few reasons: proximity to work/home, great service and ambiance, and generally just good vibes! I've been a few times and have always had a good experience. We always start with the guac, which they make right in front of you, and chips! You can also choose the spiciness level. It's a fun and great little appetizer before your meal. I usually get the sizzling shrimp & chicken fajita! I get it with corn fajitas, and sub the beans for their cilantro rice. The shrimp and chicken are always packed with flavor and go well with the onions and peppers on the sizzling plate. The portions are fairly generous and I always end up finishing the whole thing! Definitely plan on returning in the future. read more

This is such a great restaurant from start to finish. The decor is bright and tropical. The food is absolutely excellent. Our waiter, Lazaro was the best waiter that we have ever had. He is very knowledgeable about the menu and he offered some fantastic recommendations. I 100% recommend this restaurant with 2 thumbs up. read more

Service has imporved dramatically and the food is still very good! No pushy waiters the last 2 times I've been back, YAY!

Been here for dinner & lunch with friends. Very good Mexican food & a pretty ambiance. Dinner--everything was fantastic. Lunch, the main thing I remember was ordering guac that was made fresh at the table, and we could choose the spice level we wanted, and it tasted great! Couldn't stop eating it (though it was pricey for guacamole)! read more

I remember passing this place on my walk to work and finally tried it out for a Grubwithus dinner. Company was good and I really enjoyed the meal! The positives - basically everything! Honestly, from the water being re-filled all evening to the flavors of every item I ate. We began with fresh guacamole made tableside (we ordered hot - the heat overtook the taste of the fresh ingredients - I'll order medium next time) and the chicken taquitos. They were so good. For the meal, every item was very good. The chile relleno was larger than I'm used to and good and cheesy. The fajitas were fine. I liked the enchiladas. The entree that stood out even more - the enchilada stack. It was like "omg - heaven in my mouth." The dessert was a flan and was also - great. I am REALLY glad I finally tried this place and am excited to come back! read more

Pretty good lunch, but the prices matched the look of the space more than the quality of the meal. $18 pineapple margarita was very tasty but didn't pack the bang for the buck I like and I couldn't find the waiter to get me another one. Tableside guac was prepared somewhere other than tableside, but it had some good heat. The tres mariachis was a decent value for $17 (the steak taco was the clear winner over the chicken enchilada and chicken taquitos, which were both good, but unremarkable). People I ate with had been there before and both got the lobster quesadilla, which looked to have a lot of meat and is probably what I'd get if I went back... That said, I certainly wouldn't refuse an invitation to go back (on someone else's buck), but other than the look of the restaurant, no better than any other Mexican joint. read more

This is a frequently visited restaurant for me given its proximity to the office. They are good for lunch, dinner or happy hour. Sinigual has some interesting items in the menu and everything always arrives to your table piping hot or clearly freshly made. I've never been disappointed with my entree orders. It's pretty much finger lickin' good. If you are a fan of guacamole, you should consider ordering some for the table. They make it right at the table and give you an option for medium or spicy. I often find that the spicy isn't quite spicy, but everyone's tastebuds are individual. The cocktails are great and entertaining. I recommend the pomegranate mojito. I believe many of the margaritas in all different flavors are close to half price during happy hour. read more

First of all--happy hour. Such a great happy hour. Working (and previously living) in Murray Hill means being around a lot of the super social fratty-type happy hours. There are a few places, though, where you can still get cheap drinks ($6 margaritas) while feeling like a totally classy, actual grown up adult. Sinigual is one of those places. Their mango margarita is delicious and their drinks are strong. The guacamole is amazing. The chips and salsa that they put out on the table is spot on. I had dinner there for the first time last night. I ordered the chile relleno, which is not something I usually order but the vegetarian options were shockingly limited. The Chile Relleno was deep friend and DELICIOUS. the beans, the rice, all delicious. Service was great. I only took off a star because I do want like a few more vegetarian options. read more

Had a reservation here at 7pm on a Thursday night for four. Walked in and was surprised at how big the restaurant was. Crowded at the bar- definitely an after work spot - read: suits suits suits. Hostess was nowhere to be seen for a good five minutes, which was bizarre. When we were finally seated, we seemed to be ignored for a while and had to flag down our waiter for several things. shouldn't take 20 minutes to order a drink. No siree Ordered one of their speciality cocktails the "mexican mule" - wayyyyy too sweet and definitely not strong enough. A $15 buzzkill. Every table gets homemade tortillas served with sweet butter and a couple of salsas. The tortillas were great and I appreciated the spin off of the regular chips. We ordered guacamole which was lacking in flavor - tasted like smashed avocado and jalapeños. You put the lime in the coconut, ya mon. For my main I ordered the steak fajitas- medium rare. I was happy that they actually came out medium rare and they had a great flavor although my friend could barely eat them because they were SPICYYYY. I liked it. And they were served with more of those yummy tortillas so no complaints there. Another friend ordered the bbq chicken tostada which she said reminded her of the California pizza kitchen salad. And the shrimp fajitas were the tiniest shrimp I've seen. Shrimpy shrimp! Will probably not return but overall had a decent experience. read more

Top notch service with a delicious meal. Our server was absolutely fantastic. Between the warm tortilla appetizer and the chips and homemade (table side) guac, I knew it would be great.
