4 stars. Legit good place. Ordered the pho Dac biet with meat balls! Also got the com tam thit cha gio. 1 viet iced coffee too ($4 for the coffee). Both were 4/5 ! Broth for the pho was fresh and clean. Soup wasn't dirty. Just crystal clear with a lot of flavor. I wish it had more meat though to be honest. It's a big bowl, but I need more meat! The rice was good also. Pork was deliciously grilled. Nicely sized tomatoes. Two things though: the rice was too dry. Not sure what happened but yeah, totally too dry. And they didn't give any fish sauce. Everyone knows fish sauce always goes to the grilled pork!! Overall, 4/5 stars. It's better than me driving to Westminster to grab this food. Place is ridic clean. I was surprised. Clean and close to home. Everything is $10 or so, which makes it more expensive than Westminster but at least you save yourself the drive and ridic traffic. I was nauseous from hunger when I arrived and this was an amazing choice. I was greeted promptly when I arrived and immediately sat by a very friendly waiter. He took my order when I was ready, and I got up to wash my hands, and when I came out, all my food was there! The egg rolls were crunchy, umami, and exactly my expectations. The pho was delicious, satisfied my craving, and reasonably priced for a huge serving. I admit the broth could have had some deeper flavor, but it was honestly compensated by the saltiness of it (some may disagree, but the saltiness was a nice craving satisfaction). Quickly fixed with the fresh herbs and a squeeze of lime. The meat was pretty standard for pho, but I especially enjoyed the pieces of tendon. They were so soft and almost gelatinous, and were the perfect flavor vehicle for the broth. They also give you a free warm tapioca dessert at the end which I enjoyed. This is a very decent place for pho that is not within the Westminster area! And you know what is even more surprising about this little corner? They offer a pretty good option for oxtail pho!!!! I'm very pleased and genuinely surprised at how good the oxtail pho here. The oxtail is definitely not covered in fatty broth and it also doesn't taste overwhelmingly fatty like at Pho 79. And they also offer fresh noodles (big noodle) if you ask for it. I always end up getting the oxtail pho and the springrolls here! I also ask for boiled bean sprouts with the pho instead of the normal cold fresh bean sprouts. What it means is that they will boil your cold fresh bean sprouts when you ask. So that when you put it in your bowl, the broth will still stay hot longer! Definitely recommend everyone to get these two at this place! They also give free fresh hot tapioca mung bean dessert! This was the only place opened on New Year's Day that was able to accommodate for 15 people at walk-in. My cousin and her kids were in town for the holiday and we wanted to get together for lunch. Originally had plans to eat across the street but the space was super tiny and did not have enough seats for 15. For some last minute planning, I was pretty happy about getting a table that sat everyone. And for that, they deserve 5/5 stars. Service was OK -- better than your OG Vietnamese restaurants. This one was definitely more catering to your non-traditional Vietnamese (aka any non-Viets). How do I know (besides the super Americanized name)? They have Fish Pho on their menu! I've never seen that before and was too afraid to try. But hey, it was a big hit with my super Americanized nieces and nephews. I did appreciate (and thought it was funny), how the restaurant had a sign posted on their wall apologizing for the poor service. Guess that's the most Vietnamese sign in the restaurant. Food-wise... it was so-so/average. Expensive for the quality. Pho broth was way too salty. Chicken roti was too dry. Rice was also dry. I did like their fried tofu though. It had the "Lobster Special" seasoning and flavor to it. The kalbi beef was also pretty tender and juicy. Would I come back? Vermicelli with pork, shrimp, and egg roll - 10/10 MY FAVORITE! The portion size is perfect and the noodles were thick and slightly chewy with every bite of generous delicious barbecued pork shrimp and egg roll. The fish sauce is so tasty with all the veggies noodles and meats for a wonderfully flavorful and balanced dish! Also it was such a good deal with a really good price and large serving 2. Lemongrass chicken 9/10 - my boyfriends favorite! Really unique seasonings and delicious. A must try! We will be getting again. I've never had lemongrass anything it smelled like a massage parlor and tasted oh so good 3. Shaken beef with tomato rice 7/10! I'm only okay with shaken beef in general and should have ordered a different dish! Good if you like that sort of thing but it's kind of just steak cubes nothing too special 4. Pork spring rolls - 6/10 good not the best. An order comes with two large rolls but my boyfriend described the wrapper and thick and chewy in a not good kind of way. The dipping sauce was also lackluster not our favorite. Might try a different appetizer next time 5. Free dine in dessert 10/10. At the end of the meal they give complimentary free warm tapioca coconuty dessert. It was so good! With this small token I knew this place really cared for their customers. Delicious food at a friendly price! I have ventured twice to this restaurant in only a week and I will be coming back the following week. First time I arrived service felt really rushed to get us out of there even though it was empty at the time. They were literally breathing down our necks to get us out of there despite there not being much customers. The girls working were being very nosy and listening in our conversations and were no where to be found when we actually needed them. Second time they were way more pleasant and were very busy so I guess it depends who's working that day. Every pho place I go to, I generally rate them on their noodle, meat, and soup quality. The noodles were cooked perfectly. It wasn't too soft, and it still had that bite! For the meat, it's usually a hit or miss, and this meat was a hit! I'm not sure which part of the beef they used, but the beef I got was very tender! It cooked well with the broth and wasn't dry at all! When it came to the soup, it seemed like it wasn't too beefy.
