Since we dined in, it did seem like their business was mostly takeout as there was a steady stream of people picking up orders. The restaurant did give a feel of mostly take out as the cleanliness in the dining area did not seem like a focus. The floors were very sticky and the tables had empty salt and pepper shakers. The area near the displays could use a good sweeping and the table edges need to be wiped down as there is old food and sauce stuck on. Just blocks away from the highway and other popular shops and destinations like theaters, parks, and schools, Simply Pasta serves up made-to-order pasta dishes that can be customized with their array of ingredients as well as distributing gelato from Fiorello, a local vendor out in San Rafael, and cannoli constructed from shells made from a local vendor and cream made in-house. In addition, you'll also get your thirst quenched with their wide selection of syrups for their Italian sodas. While most patrons seem to be locals coming in for takeout (either from calling ahead and picking up themselves or ordering through a delivery service), they do have a few tables for indoor dining. The dining space isn't big but it's fine for small parties. The decor along the walls do give off an impression of being in an Italian piazza which complements the food quite well. On the plus side, if you are dining in, you'll constantly smell the delicious flavors wafting from the kitchen as the staff prepare other orders. The parking lot is pretty spacious and seldomly filled so you'll have no problem with a quick pick up. As you walk into the establishment, you'll see the beautiful display racks for snacks seemingly fitting with the Italian theme, a floral lined bench for those pictures worth sharing on social media and the faux brick wallpaper lining the walls. There are premade variations which are more cost-effective than customizing your order with the same ingredients. I built my own pasta with my choice meaty marinara sauce, some vegetables and extra protein. They cook it fresh per order where you can either eat in or take out. Portion size was good, but the sauce was a little too sweet for me. It reminded me of Filipino spaghetti, which I love! Very rare to find a pasta shop around here in the Bay Area because you have to go to a bigger restaurant to order pasta. This place is like the fast food version of Italy. Everything isn't too fancy but at the same time, well decorated. I was looking over the menu and you can basically customize your own pasta dish. All comes with garlic bread. Otherwise, you can simply get one of their own specialties, which I got since it's my first time here. The Shrimp Alfredo is very delicious especially when you add Parmesan cheese. The garlic bread is good even though that its quality is average. It's fine because I only care about the main dish the most. I was genuinely surprised when I found this looking for a new lunch spot near work. I decided to give it a go after reading glowing reviews and can say that the reviews are accurate. This used to be a Subway (I believe?) and is now a small pasta spot. They tried to decorate the inside differently and give it a different feel but something just screams Subway still On to what matters: the food. I love that they offer you the option to create your own pasta, who doesn't want to do that? I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and italian sausage. I'm disappointed, I had read some of the good reviews of Yelp and was excited to try Simply Pasta! To start, my passion fruit Italian Soda was more carbonated water than flavor. After a couple of sips I wasn't able to finish what I had left in my cup. The strawberry Gelato although good was tiny in comparison the picture (1/2 cup container~ and not all the way filled up, for the amount paid i feel I was scammed) on DoorDash management has a picture of a bigger container. The Fettuccine Alfredo had barely any sauce and was extremely garlicky, in addition it was very heavy and tasted like I was eating fat. I also got extra Meatballs and they tasted like they were premade and bought from Costco and not the good ones. Ironically the Garlic bread was good, but the Cannoli were just average. For a place that claims to be true Italian food it is a cheap nock off that charges the price of true Italian food. Spend your money elsewhere!! read more

I saw that they sold cannolis here, so I stopped by to try them. I placed an order online and one order of cannolis was 2 pieces for 6.05$. I decided to get a chocolate chip cannoli and a pistachio cannoli. When I arrived to pick up my order, there didn't appear to be anyone at the front counter. I waited a few minutes before I heard some some movement in the back, so I called out to see if I could grab their attention. It took a few tries but eventually someone came out to help me. I did notice while waiting that it appears their online ordering prices are higher than in-store prices (one order of cannolis was 5.75$). Not much higher but there is a difference. The cannolis had a good amount of filling and the shells were crunchy. Each bite was evenly filled, though the toppings are only on the ends. Came here to grab a quick dinner to go because it was nearby and Yelp reviews were promising - it delivered! Indoors is clean, intimate but not crowded, and even decorated for Halloween. I didn't dine in but I can see this being a good place to sit down and eat a warm meal (no room for big groups though). You can order one of their specials or build your own pasta by selecting a noodle, sauce, veggies, and add a protein (meat or seafood). All orders come with a garlic bread. I got the linguine with white wine and garlic sauce, adding broccoli, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, and shrimp. The pasta was cooked nicely, food came out fast, and everyone was warm and welcoming. I just wish I got a little more flavor in the sauce, but I tend to like stronger flavors (more on the salty side compared to the average person). Will definitely come back to try other combinations the next time I'm in the area!
