Simply Falafel - Lunch - Mediterranean Near Me - Edmond, Oklahoma

We had tried to go to this place a few weeks ago but it was warm inside so we didn't stay. Later on, I did a to go order. Out of the items we ordered the tabouli salad and the hummus were the better items. I had the 1/2 platter of gyro and falafel. Not a ton of flavor. My husband felt the same with gyro sandwich. read more

No pics. Another Sunday lunch recently at this Mediterranean restaurant. We had the cabbage roll as an appetizer and two Gyro platters. My wife's came with a larger than expected salad and a cup of Lentil soup. Mine with grilled veggies and Mujadara rice. Enough leftover for lunches the next day. All was good but different than the Lebanese Mediterranean we were accustomed to in our previous city. Counter service with meal delivery was pleasant and accommodating. I asked for spicier hot sauce and they provided the garlic chili paste we usually find at Asian restaurants which is fine with me. I buy it in big jars from the Asian market. The seating area is basic, clean and has TVs mounted on the wall. The place was busy on a Sunday so must be a local favorite. We will be back after we exhaust our search for other Mediterranean restaurants more in the Lebanese style. read more

Hospitality was friendly and thoughtful. Food was just bland minus the tzatziki sauce and pickles on my gyro wrap. Bathroom was not clean and just overall odd vibes in the restaurant. read more

We've been trying to eat keto lately (for hot girl summer lol), so Mediterranean sounded perfect. We arrived 15 minutes before closing and they were nice enough to tell us not to worry about rushing to eat. We got 2 Greek salads with chicken kabobs, mine without feta cheese. Most of the chicken was succulent except I had one overcooked piece. I didn't love the spring greens with it, but I blinked and hubs inhaled his entire plate! The tzatziki was on point. I'd definitely come back for the chicken kabobs again, even with the one burnt piece. The ambiance is cozy, and there's plenty of parking. Easy way to eat keto if you're aiming for that. :) Hold the pita, of course. read more

I know this restaurant has been in Edmond for years, my first time here. Great food and service, I forgot to take the picture of Baba Ghanoush, like he said, best in town. Best lentil and roasted pepper soup I ever had. read more

The staff is friendly and engaging with their customer. The Gyro platter was delicious. Meat is flavorful and tender. But other than that, for the side salad, the vinaigrette is more lemony than I like. Lastly, I didn't quite like the rice, very bland and wasn't fragrant compared to others. Still, I would come back and I look forward to trying something else since the menu appears to have potential. read more

We stopped here while on a roadtrip and it did not disappoint! Delicious food and great service! The falafel was crispy and the gyro was super tasty. Very clean and enjoyable place to eat. read more

This place should be called "Simply Hushpuppy." I was pretty disappointed that the falafel here is clearly mixed with something that should disqualify if from being considered a falafel. Also, the food is not well seasoned. read more

This has been a favorite in the past. But recently it has declined. Today, the beef kebabs were barely seared (raw). In general, the rest of the food was not as good as before. Also there were a child's foot prints on the table and adult footprints on the toilet seat. Sadly we will not likely return. read more

This is our favorite restaurant in Edmond but living out of town, we don't get here often. The food is always perfect. The falafels are always light and crispy. Today they had just made some cabbage rolls so my husband ordered that. I had to have a falafel and gyro platter. However, these two men are why this place is so special! Old world hospitality art it's finest! Love these guys! read more

All I wanted was something to eat- a quick bite between errands- when I spotted Simply Falafel from the Target parking lot. I had no idea what I was in for! Simply put, Simply Falafel delivered on one of the best gyro sandwiches I've ever had. The meat was tender and full of flavor, the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and crisp, and the yogurt sauce perfectly tart and saucy. Also, pickles. I had the mujaddara for my side, on which I drizzled some of the yogurt sauce. It was wasn't bright or punchy; it was warm and comforting. It's rare to taste food that has been prepared with love and care, such that when you eat it you feel nourished. The gyro sandwich at SF is *this*. Must be good people... The staff was friendly and quick to serve, and the prices were reasonable. I wish I lived closer; this would be a new regular stop for me, based on today's experience alone. read more

This is as close to the real thing as you can get. The seasoning is on point. The people who work there make you feel like family. Only one improvement I would suggest: keep the baklava covered. Whether behind glass or plastic, but protected from flying insects. We've enjoyed the sampler every single time. A little bit of everything on one scrumptious plate. read more

What a pleasant surprise! Located across the street south from the University. It's busy here but they have a knowledgeable hard-working staff that gets your food out fast. The owner works the restaurant floor to make sure all the guests are happy and from what I could see he has a very loyal following. In my opinion the bathrooms and floors need a good deep cleaning but that's the only thing that keeps us from being 5+ stars! read more

My fiancée Josh and I were looking for somewhere healthier to eat for lunch today. We came across "Simply Falafel" on Yelp and were excited to try it. We walked in and the owner Magid was so friendly and accommodating. We told him it was our first time to his restaurant and he basically ordered for us. I highly recommend letting him choose what you eat. We were super satisfied with his choices. We got the falafel appetizer and my fiancée got the Greek salad. My plate was incredible. The veggies and chicken were so flavorful and the hummus was out of this world fresh. My fiancée who doesn't like hummus was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the hummus. My fiancée got the chicken kebabs with the rice and he cleaned the entire plate. The owner told us everything is made from scratch and you can tell. We will definitely be coming back! Also get the baklava dessert!!! It has pistachios in it and it was melt in your mouth good. Such a great experience! Thank you. read more

This is one of the best restaurants in the Edmond area! My family loves it as do numerous of my friends. I have been numerous times and I've never had a bad experience. I also love that the owner is out and about checking on you on a regular basis. read more

I used to love this restaurant, but something is happening in the kitchen with the cook(s). I always order the same thing and the food items have been steadily going downhill for a year or so. The cabbage rolls, which were always my favorite, have been slimy (obviously overcooked) and overloaded with tart lemon juice to the point that I can't even pretend to eat them. The chicken in the chicken shawarma is rock hard like bullets, and the kibbeh is hit and miss (more miss as of late). As my mom calls it, this is Simply Fa-awful. read more

Our food was delicious! The falafel had a wonderful texture and wasn't too dry. The employees were super friendly and helpful. Will go back!

My husband and I stopped in one night for casual date a while back and I totally forgot to review it!!!! Sure glad we stopped in. It may not look like much, just a standard mom and pop, order at the counter place. But boy, was the food sure good. The owner happened to be there and came over to make sure we were happy with our food and you could tell he takes great pride in his offerings. We left full and happy. read more
