Food was absolutely delicious! I had the Chicken Shawarma and my husband had the Gyro, and we got an order of spanakopita to share. The spanakopita was crisp and flavorful! The gyro could've used some extra seasoning and sauce. The shawarma was delicious and rich, the garlic sauce was so divine! The vibe inside was a lil run down and empty but it's a small business so no worries there. The service was good, the man (assuming the Owner) was nice and came by to ask how it was. Overall we will be back for sure to try more, but I might order pickup next time! read more

One of our son in-in-laws is 1/2 Lebanese. We have had meals with his family and enjoyed home made Mediterranean fare including baklava! So, we found a locally owned Mediterranean restaurant with the right flavors (owners are Jordanian). Hassan greeted me and was very friendly and informative. Service was quick and polite. The place is small, but clean. Hassan said he made the baklava, but sadly forgot to put with our to go order. However, when I called to let him know he apologized profusely and took my name and number so he could make it right next time we visit. And that will be soon and often. Give them a try. read more

I really had high expectations for this place. The photos on the website looked good and it was very near to where I was shopping earlier in the day. Upon entering, the lady at the front told us to sit wherever we wanted. A gentleman came over and handed out menus . Only asked us what we wanted to drink as he handed the menus to us. Like damn, can we look at what you have available before you ask. There was no, " how are you" ,have you been here before, NOTHING. We ordered waters. Looked at menu. Both the employees stood by register but hidden. Never offered to suggest any menu items or anything. It was like they were mad that someone was there. We were the only 3 people in this big restaurant. Anyways, we ordered the sampler ,a gyro sandwhich and the Beef Shawarma Sandwich Mediterranean version of fajita, marinated tenderloin steak with parsley, tomatoes, onions and pickles, topped with tahini sauce wrapped in a hot pita bread. The Sampler and labneh were rather small but it tasted good. The sandwiches were good too so I'm not bashing the food. The service was trash. Never came to check on us, fill our cups, see if we needed anything. Even after we were done, didn't suggest dessert . Seriously, the service was horrendous. My son who actually works at a restaurant was visibly upset. He said be grateful my other daughters whom also work in restaurant business weren't there because they would lose their mind and go off on the employees for the terrible service. The bill came and we were charged more for not using cash, and only option for tip was set at 20% or higher. Based on service, they wouldn't have received any tip at all. I use to love coming here, but their pricing went up and the portions got smaller. They only give you a few fries (maybe 10) then only enough sauce for two bites. They'll charge you $0.50 plus tax for an additional sauce. Looks like I won't be coming back. The food is good and fresh, but I want to get my monies worth. Here's my top picks (so far) :: SAMPLER $10 Combination of hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel and veggie grape leaves served with hot pita bread. Their sampler is awesome. Just the pita bread alone is fantastic. GYRO Anything with gyro meat has been good--the $6.99 gyro wrap + fries special or the gyro plate $11. Gyro meat tasted fresh and had lots of flavor. The $6.99 special was plenty for 1 person. I ordered a side salad with it to have some fresh veggies--makes a great pairing. **I'm excited to work my way through the rest of their menu!!** -- Our server shared that Jerusalem restaurant, located a little further south in Edmond, and this new Bethlehem restaurant are separately owned and operated by brothers who used to be partners in Jerusalem. Bethlehem reminds me of Jerusalem Mediterranean restaurant in Edmond. They have the exact menu and food. Even the flavors are the same. I ordered from Postmates and was quite pleased with the food. They are a lot closer to my house than Jerusalem is. Right now they are offering a gyros special for only $6.99. I believe you do have to dine in because I saw the sign while driving by but it wasn't advertised on the menu. What I love to order here is the sampler and an entree. You get a bit of everything delicious in the sampler. The sampler is made to share. It comes with a generous amount of hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, pita, and grape leaves rolls. Yum! I'm so glad for this gem and I recommend them to everyone. read more

Wow, what a breath of fresh AIR! Everyone is correct: clean - affordable - peaceful - friendly - enjoyable. The kind of sit down you WANT to have when you find a Yelp lookup on a place. I snapped pictures of what we all got. Sampler platter, large select of Hummus, Lintel Soup, Spinach pies, Philly combo. Hummus & Baba G was possibly the top notch of what I have had. Beyond good. TONS of pita bread. Soup was spot on and under 3.50 for a big bowl. Philly I choose off another person recommendation, but next time I will get something more authentic. Was good! Just should have got Kabob or something similar to go with our table setup. All this, under 30 bucks... literally another meal+ we took home and all the extra Pita Bread. Thanks to all of your Yelp reviews, I checked out Bethlehem, the closest Mediterranean food to my house this week. Thanks to the variant whose name I dare not speak, we're back to take out only. We placed an order and it was ready in 15 minutes. They were so friendly when they took our order. When we arrived, it was ready for us. The entire place seemed spotless and the staff was friendly. When we got our food home, we were very happy with the packaging, the portions, and the presentation. We ordered the gyro platter (my go-to), chicken tawook, beef kebabs, falafel, pita, hummus and greek salad. We all loved the food, from my picky dad who is a meat-and-potatoes guy, to my 6 year old who asked for seconds and then thirds! Even my mom (who eats even her favorite meals like a bird) loved everything and ate more than usual. The meat seemed to be especially high quality, and the gyro wasn't greasy at all. The rice was a hit with my kids, and my daughter figured out on her own how good it is to add a little tzatziki to your rice. I thought the pita was especially good - fluffy pillows of pita, as it should be! Next time, I'll try and order something that packs in a few more veggies. We ate all the zucchini pretty quickly and aside from the greek salad there wasn't much more in the way of veg. That's my fault for ordering weird, but the first time you order from a place, it's hard to know if the kebabs and tawook come with a veggie skewer or not. So now I know, gotta add some of the $3 grilled veggie skewers from the sides menu. That I can do! I'm sure this will become a stable for us. read more

Maybe they were having an off day, but this was the nastiest hashwa, dolmas, and baklava I've ever had. Hashwa tasted old and bitter, the dolmas tasted like they were from a can, and the baklava tasted as if it had been sitting out for days. I used to love this restaurant as a special treat but noticed it started going downhill in terms of food last year. I should have trusted my instincts and stayed away. We have gotten food here many times since Bethlehem opened both inside the restaurant and a lot of takeout during Covid I was very disappointed when we walked in at 7:35 this evening to sit down and the hostess/cashier said they were closing at 8:00 so letting us know we were not welcome to eat inside the restaurant tonight. Never have we gone into a restaurant a full 25 minutes before closing and not be seated. If they are going to refuse to serve people who come in 25-30 minutes before closing, then they need to turn off their open sign and lock the door. There was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time so it wasn't like they didn't have room. If this is the way they wish to treat long time customers who have supported them, we will patronize other locally owned restaurants who don't do that to their customers. read more

Very disappointed in the quality of food and thought by the ratings it would be much better. The gyro meat was crispy on the outside (dried out) and just not very much meat on the sandwich at all. The main problem was everything was basically flavorless including the pita bread. The tziki sauce tasted weird (I've never tasted it like that), the iced tea was instant, and the Diet Coke was off. The best part of the whole meal was probably the French fries which were light and crispy. Oh, and the service was without any care or charm whatsoever. No greeting. No welcome. No smile. Nothing. Go to Gyro City Cafe if you want a good gyro - it's a dive and the service is hit or miss but they absolutely have the best gyros of anywhere! read more

I purchased the appetizer falafel (four pieces with a side of sauce), hummus with pita, and tabouli (the large size, which was $10). The falafel was okay, the hummus was good (as expected), but the tabouli was a small portion considering it was the "large" and was practically only parsley and green onions, with a tiny trace of the bulgar wheat. Y'all I can't with this spot. It is so good. Probably the best spanakopita I've EVER had. I'm drooling even thinking about it. Very reasonably priced, located on danforth and Kelly next to eggingtons. It's not much to look at, but don't let that fool you when it comes to food quality. Their portions are HUGE. I love to get the gyro + hummus + spanakopita and then just hang out in a heavenly food coma the rest of the day. This, so far, is hands down the worst "Mediterranean" I've had in the area. We ordered through DoorDash so I can't speak to the appearance of the physical location. Online descriptions are apparently misleading. I ordered the "Gyro Platter" which turned out to be a pile of gyro meat, rice (which I am a reasonably sure was vermicelli, not rice) and a choice of side with four quarters of pita bread. For my side, I chose tabbouleh, which had so much parsley and mint and so little of anything else that I felt like I was chewing lawn clippings. The tzatziki was thin, runny and lacking flavor. On top of that, I'd ordered baklava for desert; at $3 an order I'd have thought there would be more than a single 1"x1.5" piece, but that's what I got. It wasn't bad but for the price and the amount, it should have been much better. My wife and our teenager had a Gyro Combo, which I should have ordered. My wife's pita bread was overdone on the outside, same complaints about the tzatziki from both and the fries that accompanied the combos were soggy and lacking any salt. My wife also got an extra side of tabbouleh and felt the same way I did. Our youngest and my live-in brother in law both got the cheeseburger (read: gyro, minus gyro meat, add chunked-up burger patty), and neither had any complaints. Lastly, we got one order each of spanakopita and tyropita. The fact that they called the tyropita "cheese turnovers," should have been an indication of what we could expect. The spanakopita was overdone and the tyropita didn't have much cheese. There are other places in the OKC area much better for Mediterranean cuisine. We won't be ordering here again. read more

ROACHES. Halfway through dinner, noticed one on the wall but did not want to make a big deal about it. A couple minutes later, there's one crawling on our table heading toward my purse; my companion shewed it away. A couple minutes later, there's one literally right in front of me on the table and coming at me. Companion knocked it to the floor, I stomped on it, looked down a minute later, and it was gone. At this point, I'm beyond ready to bolt for the door. We told the server; the reply was, "yeah, the owners know about it, they've been told, but they won't do anything about it". We should have disputed the tab and gotten the food for half price or free, but at this point, was glad to have just enough cash to drop on the table and get out of there, as I could not spend another second in there waiting to talk about it. Food tasted pretty decent, but the kufta was scary undercooked, and the lamb kabob had so much fat through it, you could hardly chew it. They were out of the basic mainstays of grape leaf rolls and mujadara. Overall, pretty disappointed with the food, completely disgusted with the roaches, and won't be back. read more
