    Gritty hummus with no flavor
    Gina K.

Cute place. The service was very fast. The saffron tea with the saffron honey was amazing. Falafel salad was very nice with a large portion. The prices were very good. The hummus was very gritty with no flavor, probably the worst hummus I've had. The kabob was decent but not worthy of a reorder. You can tell they are cutting corners with cheaper ingredients but that's probably how they can keep their prices so low. We will definitely come back but stick to the falafel and tea.

Basil is a must go to place in Uptown! The food is to die for! Always fresh products and great service! Their lunch specials are great and the prices are great too! You can't go wrong! Great place to go with coworkers, friends and family!

Adding another review because I wanted a reminder of how good their tea (I believe ai got an orange cinnamon version) with their honey. Their iced tea is also bomb as well, and you can combine it with their lemonade. I believe the tea is saffron and the lemonade also has special flavors as well. Recommended!

    Classic Gyros

The western gyro with gyro meat was so good. I loved the added sautéed bell peppers and onions along with the melted Swiss cheese. The fries are okay. This was the quickest lunch break in be ever taken. We arrived at 11:30 and were packing to go boxes at 11:50. The food came out so fast. I loved that an employee was walking around checking on customers and offering additional tzatziki sauce at no charge. Great place to grab some lunch. The ambiance was nice and had several places to sit down and eat.

    A TON of meat!

I typically don't write five star reviews for places I haven't set foot in, but I had to go the extra star just because of the attention to detail that this restaurant supplied. I do however definitely know, that I will actually make an in-person visit when able. This was ordered from GrubHub. I can only really speak on my order, I don't know how the other food is, but I'll tell you I'm definitely going to find out. They packaged my meat separate from my salad, so I didn't have limp wilted lettuce. Another key to detail! I ordered a spicy gyro salad. I've had Mediterranean all over the country, and I've never had spicy gyro. I don't know what the sauce is they use but it is phenomenal. My salad itself was huge, and they gave me a ridiculous amount of gyro meat! I mean a TON. They also doubled up on the pita bread, even though I'm not a carb eater, I had to go ahead and knock all that out too hahaha. They paid attention to my request for utensils, which was nice. A lot of places don't. They gave me extra of that hot sauce, plenty of Tzatziki sauce, I just wish I would have been able to ask them for extra salad dressing. It's probably enough for the normal bloke, but I like my salad like soup hahaha. I wasn't in love with the salad dressing, but it was good. I wasn't even able to eat everything I ordered. So I have a nice little snack in a couple hours! I know GrubHub gouges you, so my order was a bit expensive, but dining in, you're definitely getting your money's worth, and then some. I can't wait to go in person and actually have a sit-down meal at this place. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. I am typically a creature of habit and this place did not fit into my normal pick to eat. My friend recommended this place for lunch and the food was fresh and flavorful! The construction is terrible right now and parking is scarce, but it is certainly worth it to eat at this restaurant!

While in OKC we went to @basilmediterraneancafe for dinner, and we enjoyed our meal here, we ordered multiple items like Gyros Plate, Salmon Plate, Hummus, Fatoush, Khubideh, and Lentil Soup. all the food was fresh and very flavorful. my favorite ite. we're the Gyros and the Spicy Hummus. overall great service, great options and tasty halal food.

Beautiful and delicious hummus starter and tea! My favorite OKC restaurant!

My son introduced us to this restaurant in 2024. It's not just a meal it's an experience in my opinion. Beautiful interior and fantastic food and drink. All of the desserts that we've tried so far have been delicious. We always get tea and an appetizer plus our entrées and sometimes dessert. Very affordable prices. Definitely my #1 new-to-me restaurant in Oklahoma for 2024. Can't wait till my next visit!

Read the wonderful reviews of this place and decided to order delivery. Ordered the spicy chicken gyro plate side french fries, added a cup of lentil soup, and a pistachio pastry. Everything was delicious and fresh!! The lentil soup has incredible flavor and a great balance of salt & fats. Gyro wasn't super spicy and the fries were perfectly cooked. If you have a sweet tooth, this place has phenomenal desserts. I tried one of the pistachio pastries & wow, I am hooked! Service was quick and my food was warm. Looking forward to dining in next time!

    the interior decoration

My first time visiting this place and it was absolutely beautiful! The decorations are so pretty and they even had some calming music in the back to set the tone. The workers were all so nice and helpful! They explained every dish I was interested in. The food was so good! I got the falafel and it is the best falafel I have ever had. It is not dry and very flavorful. My sandwich also came with fries too. I got their hummus as well and it was also delicious the hummus wasn't too spicy/seasoned where it overpowered the taste. If you go try the hummus! Overall I will be visiting again!

Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Restaurant is worth trying!! I recommend going at an off time because it was packed!! There's an option to do half a sandwich. The menu doesn't disclose that you can only do that on cold sandwiches. That's nice they do that but if you wait in line 25 mins with your menu item in mind but they won't do the halvsie thing it's frustrating. Especially since the sandwiches are mostly all over $14. So then you have to make a split second decision and order something else you sorta wanted but not really. I say that bc I originally wanted a hot sandwich but I can't eat a whole one. When they wouldn't let me do that with the half of a sandwich I decided to try to do that with the Bruce, which was the monthly special turns out I couldn't do that either. All in all it was a great experience and I liked my sandwich. My wife LOVED hers. We will definitely be back!! Wifey tip: order water to drink. They don't have soda on fountain so you pay $4 for bottled stuff you buy at On Cue. Not worth it.

My mom ordered the Caesar salad without Parmesan. She said it was a little too spicy for her and didn't really taste like a traditional Caesar salad, so she probably wouldn't order it again. My other mom got the cheese curds and said they were really good, and my brother enjoyed his tater tots. I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup. The soup was delicious, and the sandwich had the perfect crispy, golden crust. My only complaint was that the cheese wasn't very melty--it tasted more like processed American cheese than a gooey grilled cheese. Even so, it was still really good. The atmosphere was relaxed, the waiter was friendly and polite, and all of the staff were welcoming. They also have T-shirts for sale, which was a fun touch. I'd definitely come back!

I was expecting something richer, so it missed the mark a bit for me personally. *Important things to know before going* A lot of the pastries are Asian inspired, so they have a very light and airy texture with a sweet yet understated taste. It still tastes great, but don't expect a super rich or dense cake. If you're looking for a cafe to work out of, this isn't the place for you. On top of that, we had to order coffee separately and pay twice, which felt inconvenient. Even after ordering at the kiosk, our hot coffee somehow came out iced... oops. (Yes, it clearly says iced on the receipt - so obviously we missed something.) We also had to clean our own table, even though it wasn't busy. There seems to be a lot of variety at first glance, but if you look closely, it's mostly the same bread--lots of red bean. On the plus side, there's lots of natural light and plenty of seating (at least when it's not busy). Overall, a bit disappointed. The prices lured us in, but this won't be a routine stop for us. I ordered the Cuban panini with a side of Parmesan-encrusted button mushrooms. It's so hard to find anything close to Cuban bread, but this wasn't bad, and the panini was toasted nicely. There's only one problem: This isn't a Cuban sandwich. It's ham and turkey with pickles. I'll point the finger at myself for not looking at the menu closer. A Cuban HAS to be roast pork and ham, and the meat shouldn't be cold. I know this isn't Miami, but stop trying to pass this off as something it's not. As for the Parmesan-encrusted mushrooms, you might expect some bit of crust or breading with Parmesan. Nope. These were sautéed mushrooms with a glop of Parmesan (not entirely sure it wasn't Swiss) in the middle. If you wanted both, you had to get a mushroom, then bite off a bit of the no longer melted cheese. I'm not going to tell anyone not to come here. As ham and turkey paninis go, it was OK.
