I chose to go to this restaurant based on the reviews and I was a little bit disappointed based on the quality and cost of the food. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't terrific. In fact, it was a little greasy and there definitely wasn't enough of that tasty sauce they put on gyros. And the fries, that you don't have the option of getting or not, tastes like they came straight from a bag. So, no, I definitely won't be returning. Wow, this place is awesome! Very tasty food and friendly service. The guy behind the counter was very welcoming and explained the differences in the dishes to us. My dad got a gyro plate and the meat portion and warm pita was generous and the Greek salad he chose was good with lots of fresh cucumbers and tomatoes. I got the beef schwarma plate with salad and I subbed in hummus instead of rice. Meat was very authentically spiced and delicious. Stopped in quick the other day and grabbed one of their namesake gyros. The neon sign outside was speaking to me....gyyyyyrro. Only their gyro was just average. Vegetables weren't crisp, had the taste and watery texture of being precut or out of a bag. Tzatziki was separated, not creamy like I prefer and flavor was too heavy on yogurt. Meat did have nice flavor, and pita was done right. But these secondary issues impacted the taste quite a lot. Also gyro was a little underfilled compared to others I've had around the metro. After eating probably a hundred of these over the years from around the country, I'm pretty picky when it comes to my gyro. Being in OKC for business a lot, we are always looking for somewhere new to go to lunch and always on the lookout for a great gyro. Through a Yelp search it seemed that this was the best option. Not disappointed at all! We went in shortly before lunch time and there was one woman running the whole shop. This woman was wonderful and the service was top notch. For $11 you get a gyro combo - a gyro, French fries, and a drink. Awesome gyro, fresh hot fries, and a fountain coke was just what this girl needed! By the time we left, the line was out the door and rightfully so. We will definitley be back on our next trip to OKC. read more

I love gyro meat so much and was super excited to try a new place. Unfortunately my excitement didn't last long. The guy behind the counter immediately yells at us coming in wanting to know if we want carry out or dine in. When we said dine in you could see it all over his face his disgust at having to put up with diners. We looked over the menu and chose our entrees. I went to the bathroom and by the time I got back everything was ordered and I will say the food got out to us quickly. Of course it doesn't take much time to barely put any portion of meat on the plate. The salad was ok but Greek salad would be nice and more fitting. The gyro meat we did get was very dry and it felt like it was old or something. The place had a TV but about every 5 minutes it would lose its internet connection and drop the picture so you couldn't really watch it. All in all I don't think I'll be returning. There are too many other restaurants in which I can get way more bang for my buck and that want my business. read more

We started off with hummus and nice wArm pita. Pretty easy to eat and seasoned well. After making one of my many Dunkin'runs, I made the decision to finally check out Gyro House. From what I've heard, they are owned by the same family as Bethlehem whose owner is the brother of the owner of Jerusalem, which is our favorite Mediterranean spot in town. So I came in with high hopes. It was 3pm, so the staffing was very light - the lady taking orders was also the cook, so it took a bit minute for my food to come out. We ordered the Baba Ghanouj, the Beef Shawarma Platter with Fries and the Gyro Combo, all coming out to $31, and ordered it to go. We got home and dug in...and we're unimpressed. The Baba was actually a bit sour, not the beautiful smoky flavor that we know and love. Pouring a heap of smoked paprika helped, but it just wasn't the same. That was $6 that I wish I could have back. The Shawarma was well seasoned, but it didn't remind me if beef shawarma, but rather Philly cheese steak meat. It came with a side salad and fries (bismati rice is an option), but the dressing from the salad sogged down the fries on the 10 minute drive home. The fries are shoestrings with a little seasoned salt. While it was good, I'm not sure it was $13 good. The Gyro was well seasoned and the tzatziki sauce was bright and lemony, though the portion was a little light for $9. It also came with a 16 oz drink with a limited selection of soft drinks. The place isn't bad, but it's got some tough competition. For the same price, I'd rather drive the mile north up Broadway and hit up Jerusalem. read more

Dining room is open! We had takeout last time and it was wonderful so we are in today. Lunch was amazing. Platters are plentiful and we'll worth the price. We have enough food for a second lunch too! Gyro meat is tender and delicious (my picky 8 year old who only eats chicken nuggets DEVOURED it) chicken tawook was perfect, fries we had were crispy and my girls said that they were the best they ever had. The sampler platter was very tasty and pipping hot! Service was fast and friendly too. My wife is very critical of the Greek food she eats and she loves this place now. Go eat here!
