Came in Hummus Cafe with a friend and his kid but ended up leaving early. For some reason, he did not like the vibe of the restaurant. I was perfectly fine and thought the restaurant looked clean and the service was good. Got a kid's burger and fries. Portion size was big. Kid ate the burger meat and most of the fries. She seemed to like it. We also got 2 lemonades. I got the royal platter to go since my friend wanted to leave. I only ate the Greek salad and gave the rest to my dad. It did not look too appealing to me. If I didn't look at the menu, I wouldn't be able to tell that it had 3 different meat combinations: Kofta, Shish Tawook, and Keef Babob. A little pricy, close to $40. With taxes and tips, I ended up paying $52.09 for a kid's meal, a to-go adult meal, and 2 drinks. read more

I'm a regular customer and love the food but when to pay prior to taking my home I reviewed the receipt on the screen. When I got home I noticed that one of the sides that I'd ordered was not there. I called and told them the reason I placed a 20% was because I had been assured everything was in the bag. The reason my side was left out is because "all restaurants tend to leave things off an order and nobody is perfect" So when you get home and your order is incomplete just know that "all restaurants leave parts of an order out and it's just the way it is" Very unacceptable answer and excuse. My husband and I love Mediterranean food, so anytime we hear about a good restaurant, we have to try it out. The food is so fresh and delicious. I could eat just the gyro hummus and side Greek salad and be satisfied. The portions are generous, and we definitely had more than enough to eat. Our waiter was so kind, and our food came out quickly. We went for an early dinner, so it wasn't very crowded, which is great, probably why the service was so quick. We have been coming here for sometime and love the food and the people. However, today our server was more concerned with a guy that she is obviously flirting with more than serving or paying attention to her customers. She has sat down about 5 times in the waiting time of our food and lounging with this guy that appears to be a customer. She is all smiles and giggles with guy, yet with us she is as stone faced as they come. Definitely not someone that I would keep as a staff member. I have yet to find a place with better tabouli than Hummus Cafe. It truly is the best! I also absolutely love the kebbah, I had never had it before, now it is my go-to for a quick lunch. Love this place, and the staff are wonderful as well. Definitely try it if you haven't yet! read more

The food here always slaps. I get the gyro plate and it is the best gyro I've had so far and it is a lot of food. I take it home and get two meals out of it. The pita is always warm and fresh. My only complaint is the waiter was not very nice. Service is not the best but the food makes up for it. read more

Seriously, I'm not sure Yelp allows reviews that short, but that's all that needs to be said about this hidden Mediterranean food gem. By no means am I an expert on all things Mediterranean eatin', but I have been eating Gyros my entire life and when I tell you that me and the Mrs. have found our new favorite spot for lamb chops and gyro plates, Hummus Cafe is it. I'm not even sure how we overlooked this spot for so long, but when i tell you the food is fresh, flavored and cooked to perfection, not to mention, generously portioned, what else is there to say. Patronize this place as soon as you can. You will not be disappointed! Because my husband was ravenously hungry after a workout and running errands, we were looking for someplace with great food that was quick yet not super fattening. I've had deliveries from here a couple of times through DoorDash, but have never come in. Nestled in the back corner, this adorable restaurant is great for lunch or families. As we were leaving, they were assembling tables for 40-50 people. The service was EXTREMELY friendly and polite. Very relaxed, they're not rushing you out by giving the check immediately. The food was very flavorful and beautifully arranged. They have 8 kinds of hummus to pick from. The hummus options are plain hummus topped with olive oil and your choice of topping. We had the jalapeño hummus and falafel appetizer. I've had the garlic hummus before. It's delicious but vampires beware (there's a lot of garlic). Everything comes with soft fluffy pita. He and I wanted to try several dishes so we had the rotisserie chicken with a side of Greek salad, gyro sandwich with fries and beef kofta plate with vermicelli rice. The chicken was juicy. The Greek salad was a bit heavy on the dressing but that's an easy fix and personal preference. The gyro pita sandwich was seasoned to perfection and moist. They were generous with the meat and did not use shredded lettuce as a filler. I was pleasantly surprised with the Kofta plate. Usually skewered meats end up dry, but this was soft and delicious. The rice was also very flavorful. We had to try their baklava. It's very interesting how much baklava can vary from region or possibly from different family recipes. This family's version is wrapped in rolls with a rich buttery flavor. My husband and I thought it tasted a bit like shortbread. Will definitely be back with the family. read more

This was our first time trying this place out which was highly recommended thru a friend at work. We have always ordered Mediterranean from ZamZam for years and love that place. So tonight we took a chance and ordered from this place. We got a plate of chicken kabobs and our side was the Hummus. What we got was a tiny two bite portion at best of their hummus. Talk about stingy and with these prices they charge for the food you'd think they could be a tad bit more generous with a "side " of hummus. The manager was nice when we called and voiced our dissatisfaction/disappointment but after also tasting their hummus we still ended up ordering our fave hummus from ZamZam. We will not try this place again and will stick with our fave Mediterranean place and will not be trying this place again. Super disappointed and food isn't even close to being good as ZamZam. read more

Met a buddy from church here for lunch to discuss how Christ is moving in our lives. Given we both live on the north side, this seemed like a good option for a quick lunch. We were right! The restaurant layout is a bit odd (and wind funneled through the entrance into the back) and lacks decor, but it looked spotless. Really well taken care of. Our waitress (I can't recall her name) was a nice young lady who tended to us kindly. I had the gyro sandwich (comes with tzatziki sauce, onion, and tomatoes) and fries. The sandwich was delicious! Do wish it had a bit more meat, but what was in there was tasty and the sauce provided a nice contrast. The fries were genuinely some of the best I've had in OKC. No kidding! Very well seasoned, perfect size, crisp on outside/fluffy on inside. Price was around $13 before tax, which seemed only slightly high. Overall, an enjoyable experience! Very pleasant dining experience. I wasn't sure what to expect, but wouldn't have been surprised to find a counter where orders are placed, so I was pleased to find well spaced tables and typical servers. We were seated immediately at a nice table next to a window - a big plus! We were offered menus and drink orders were taken quickly, along with the opportunity to ask any questions. I had a question about a couple of the options, so the server asked if this was our first visit. When we said it was, she prepared a small tray with some pita bread, hummus, baba ganoush and muhammara so we would know the difference. How nice is that? We both ordered Shish Tawook. It was very tasty, but was a LOT of food. I'm guessing that there was well over a pound of chicken on each order. We took a box home with close to 2 pounds of chicken. That's quite a value for $17. The table service was super friendly and efficient. She check with us more than once to be sure everything was going well and my drink was never less than half full, with a "to go" drink without even asking. Having a mind reader wait on you can't be beat. We'll be bak, I'm sure, on our next trip through Oklahoma City! read more

What an awesome little cafe! Nestled in a fancy shopping center that boasts food choices aplenty, my colleague and i decided to check out this mediterranean food restaurant because they had an exciting new summer menu that mentioned (amongst many things) shakshuka. Luis (the manager) came out to take our order on this particular late Saturday afternoon, and then he disappeared for the majority of our meal service. At the end of our meal, Luis reappeared and asked how we liked the shakshuka. We told him that it was delicious! When i asked where he'd been throughout our meal service he stated that he had only seen the chef make shakshuka a handful of times, but the chef wasn't there, so Luis went into the kitchen and took it upon himself to cook the meal himself because we were so excited to try it! Talk about going above and beyond for customer service! Literally every food on the menu that we had was delicious, and flavorful. The service was amazing, and I love the atmosphere at this place. While the staff was nice, the overall experience was mediocre at best. I went to dinner with my husband and a friend. My husband and I both had the gyro plate, mine with rice and his with fries. Our friend got the Mediterranean fajitas. The food was decent, but certainly not great. None of the gyro meat had any crisp to it from the cooking process, and the rice was bland. Our friend's Mediterranean fajitas didn't come with any pita, and our plates came with very little pita compared to the amount of food. The salad turned out to be a disappointment; a mound of finely chopped lettuce, a couple of rings of red onion, a few small chunks of bell pepper and cucumber with a sparse application of feta cheese dust. There wasn't an olive to be found in both salads combined. The dressing was bland, mostly oil. There may have been some lemon juice in it, but the dressing had no zest, no character. read more

You definitely are paying for the area and the fancy restaurant environment when eating here. The price is high for the small amount of food you get. I think they give way too much rice. The Beef Kafta was dry. Service was just okay. You get a side of hummus and it's really just a small side with a couple of pita bread. I ate here around 4pm and my friend and I were the only ones here in a giant dining room. That's quite unusual. Mayday mayday, it is May the 2nd. The 2nd day Oklahoma is open to the public after semi-shutting down due to the pandemic. So let me start this out by saying I completely understand restaurants are going to be busy with take out/call in orders. The economy is reopening! On my way to this restaurant I gave them a call to make sure they were open. It was almost 11am. They were. I hung up and looked over the menu as my husband drove us to the restaurant. We walk in and are quickly greeted by a woman, she asked us if we needed to look over the menu, my husband needed to because he was driving.. Took all of 5 minutes for him to make a decision (it's a guy thing). We ordered a Greek salad add chicken and a gyro sandwich with house fries, with an ice water and a hot mint tea, but iced. So iced mint tea. Easy peasy. Almost $24 dollars later plus a tip. I'm excited! I'm hungry, I'm ready. It's a sad truth, but when I get to a super hungry point in my day it's not pretty. So I try to hold my composure, and think happy thoughts because I'm about to be gifted with some delicious food I didn't have to prepare. So even though I'm not at my best, I'm definitely trying to be. 35ish minutes later....... The lady come back and explains to me she didn't understand my "tea" order. I politely explained to her, after you brew the tea just pour over ice. (It's going to be 90° today and hot tea sounds hot.... maybe I'm asking too much here). 10ish minutes later, she arrives with the 2 beverages, the tea melted the ice. That's normal. But I was looking for more like an iced tea. However that's not why I am giving this restaurant 1 star .... The lady then explains how our food is almost done. I can't hold it. I'm furious. She walks away. I look at my husband, he knows me through and through. He knows it's time I go to the car. He will handle the issue. It's been over 40 minutes since we placed the order and all I have is a water and a tea that is room temperature. I'm starving and I just want someone to communicate with me what is going on. If there were 1,742,004,863 orders in front of ours, wouldn't or shouldn't you have explained that to your customers before they placed or while they were placing an order? Wouldn't you educate them through the process? I went to the car.... 10 minutes later my husband comes to the car with the order..... and $20. He is a calm man, the yen to my yang. He is my balance when I am out of balance. He said he asked the lady if he could just have a refund because he was ready to be served somewhere else by this point. She didn't know hoe to give refunds. So he said "I asked to speak to the manager". The manger showed up and my husband began to ask why this was this, and that was that. The manager got sooo angry he blamed everything on the lady the he claimed she was new, and said "he would fire her if I wanted." My husband further explained that "that's not what he wanted, he wanted communication about his order and wanted to eat because he was hungry." The manger gave him his food quickly and pulled $20 from his pocket. The manager was nervous now. My husband was furious now, he lost his composure. We won't come back. read more

My husband and I tried Hummus Cafe because we randomly saw them on yelp and restaurant.com, both with great reviews. We are both kofta lovers, so we decided to give their kofta dinner a try tonight. We ordered their paprika hummus for an appetizer and we both had their kofta platter for our meal. We were both loving everything!
