We got an EV, and we needed a home charger. The 120V charger included with the vehicle takes several days to charge from 20% or 100%. We needed a 240V charger. Based on reviews, I contacted Simple Electric. First good sign: they did a free inspection. I had the specs of the charger I wanted, and they showed up to verify that our wiring was capable of supporting the charger. So I ordered the charger from SRP (they give discounts compared to retail), and scheduled a return visit to install it. So he showed up to do the install. The first thing he had to do was extend the wiring to a more accessible location, and then install an outlet compatible with the charger's plug. The original outlet was not easily accessible, and the outlet style was wrong for the charger. Everything was done to code (I asked more than once), and the new outlet box was mounted on the wall. Next he had to change the breaker as the charger required a higher capacity breaker. That was pretty straight forward for him. We then tested the charger, and it worked. As an added thing, they offered to label my breaker box since the old label from when the house was built was almost unreadable. I had expected, based on the description, that I was going to get nice, permanent, labels. But they ended up being the plastic strips from a label maker. Looks terrible, though they did say that if any fall off or become otherwise unreadable that they would come out and replace them for free. Still, I have to deduct some points for the labels. Maybe 1/2 star, but that's enough that I can't rate 5 stars. Everything else about their service was five-star. The initial quote seemed a bit expensive, but I'm willing to pay for quality workmanship. By the time he was done I realized it was actually fairly cheap. Several hours of an electrician's time is very expensive. Given that, the price I paid was very reasonable. If I have future need of an electrician, I likely will call them. read more

Was in need of an electrician to rewire my dryer outlet. My appointment was scheduled a week out, but they called with a cancellation and were able to come within 24 hours. Based on other reviews I'm sure Simple Electric does amazing work and that's why I wanted to use them, but the quote they gave me indicates they either did not want to do the job or were inflating prices on me. One item I needed done was to have a Tesla Wall Connector installed. Brand new house built in 2022, plenty of open spots on the panel, and I needed it installed directly behind the panel, so no long runs or tricky routing needed. If you aren't familiar with what's needed here for materials it's a 60amp breaker and a few feet of the correct gauge wiring. In 2020 I had this done at my other house by a different company and the cost was $243. What was the quote from Simple Electric? $1,050 to install a Tesla Wall Connector on the other side of the panel. I had a few other items I wanted them to quote out which brought the total quote to $5,000 (also insane). I know I wasn't going to get away with the $243 pricing I had in 2020 and expected an increase, so I called up another company. They came out and in under 30 minutes the job was done and the total was $275. So pretty much if I did have Simple Electric do it the price would be around $1,900/hr for that particular job. If you all change your pricing i'd love to circle back on future projects, but this isn't inflation this is price gouging and I'm sure anyone seeing you tried charing $1,050 for a Tesla Wall Connector installation will agree. read more

Once again this company came through. I had a smoke detector that was chirping and I couldn't get the smoke detector to come apart so I could check the battery. I called Simple Electric. Unfortunately this company did something to my home that was unsafe and not to code. They put a transformer that was on the outside of the wall inside the wall and closed it up with a plate in front of it. They said it might get a little warm but that it was fine. Come to find out from another electrician that what they did was not to code, and could have potentially started a fire in my son's room. Luckily the other electrician from a different company fixed it. Be careful with this company. I'm disappointed, because I've had only good experiences with them until now. On top of that, they actually charged me $50 to put the transformer inside the wall, even though that was against code and dangerous. Not awesome. Super disappointed with my experience with Simple Electric. A tech came out to install 2 outlets on Friday Jan 26, '24. The first outlet was put in my hall closet for my vacuum charger, no issues there. The second one was to be installed in my front bathroom on the wall where my new vanity would be installed since my vanity would have a strip of outlets in the cabinet for hair accessories. I had asked that he install it more to the right side since the plumbing was going to be moved further right as well and I wanted plenty of space to work with. He initially installed it too close to the existing plumbing at which point I asked him to move it over since, again, the plumbing is going to be moved closer to the direction of the outlet. He redid it and decided to leave the previous hole he cut out since I was already going to have someone else redoing drywall with other bathroom repairs. So he basically added additional drywall repairs on my dime. In addition, I realized later that he didn't install a GFI outlet. As an electricity company, I feel like they should know to use a GFI outlet near water. My dad had to come out and redo that outlet. I paid $410 that day for 2 new outlets, one of which I had to pay additional to correct. Complete waste of money. I won't recommend or use this company again. read more

We called Simple Electric and Ashley was able to get an electrician out to our home the next morning. She called before the scheduled appointment to let us know that the electrician would arrive at the beginning of our 10 a.m. appointment. Our electrician Mitch arrived a few minutes early and we described the numerous issues we were having: flickering LED light fixture, ground fault circuits tripping regularly, outlets which didn't seem to work, faulty prior electrical work, under cabinet lighting that wouldn't turn on, and a damaged photovoltaic sensor. Mitch diagnosed all of these problems, fixed all that were fixable, and let us know why we were having these various electrical issues. Mitch was polite, friendly, informative, efficient, attentive, and quickly improved our electrical issues. Used to be a fantastic company, but I am unsure where they went wrong. I made an appointment nearly a month in advance (earliest they could do) and confirmed TWICE that they could do the job the same day they provide the estimate. Well, they couldn't. They didn't even really care that they couldn't either. So to help matters, I did a large portion of the job myself and when I ask it they can come back and do a simple part, they told me they can come in 18 DAYS. Ridiculous. I depended on this company to do the good work I've remembered them to do and because of their communication mistakes, my family won't enjoy the pool during their visit like I had hoped. Our chandelier was defective (which was my fault) but in order to come back just to hang it, they said they would charge ANOTHER $600. I've just never seen such blatant taking advantage.
