Stephen did our estimate and answered all our questions. He assured us he would be the one to do the work as he was the one doing the estimate. I was really excited to try this company after reading positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. My initial appointment was canceled last-minute, just an hour before the scheduled arrival. Thankfully, my electrical issue wasn't urgent, so I understood. After rescheduling, the technician came, spent only a few minutes inspecting the problem, and didn't perform any diagnostics, like checking if the wires were still working. When I called the office for clarification on my quote, they informed me the original technician had left, and another would be sent in a week. The new technician verbally quoted me for replacing a bad wire, which I accepted. The job was done quickly, and the outlet worked afterward. However, when I received the receipt, I found out the technician had only wrapped the exposed wires in electrical tape, instead of replacing them. I was disappointed by the lack of transparency, especially since I was told I'd receive a discount for the inconvenience. The final price was $120 for something I could have done myself, plus a cover replacement that wasn't even necessary. When I reached out to the office for an explanation, I was told they'd be happy to clarify why the technician took that approach. What I wanted to know was why I wasn't informed of the change in scope and why the cost was the same, regardless of the actual work performed. It honestly felt like the charges were made up on the spot. I had a circuit go down in the house... It was a disconnect/open...no circuit breaker was tripped. I tried for three weeks to find where the disconnect was. One day I saw one of Simple Electric's vehicles parked a few houses away...I spoke with Mitch, technician, who was working a job in our neighborhood... I asked him if their company was capable of ringing down a line with a toner... he was friendly and courteous, and said yes they can. The next day, I called Simple Electric and talked with their dispatchers, Ash/Bree and made arrangements for Mitch to come out and ring down circuit... Mitch and Dillon were dispatched...They arrived as scheduled with the proper equipment that included a "toner"... they rang down the circuit and found the disconnect in short order... It was not where we thought it might be and I was so relieved that I was not going to have to tear out drywall and sub-flooring to get to it. As it was, the disconnect was located in a switch box in a different room... a simple reconnecting a loose wire to a wire nut and problem was solved. They also rang down a circuit breaker in the panel that "went to nowhere". We've been in this house 30 years and have never been able to figure out where the circuit was for that particular breaker... Turns out it was unused...it terminated at a switch box in the family room that I believe could have been used for an optional wet bar when the house was built in 1986 and never installed. Mike, co-owner of the company, came out and validated all the work tracking down this circuit and validated the "fix". I could not have been more relieved knowing "at the end of the day" that it was a simple fix. Simple Electric is now my "go to" electrical contractor. Thanks so much!!! read more

We asked Simple to come in and replace two light fixtures in our kitchen area and dining room. We had already purchased the light fixtures online. They came out to give an estimate of $180 per fixture for installation. The estimate was free because we initiated it through Yelp! During the process the electrician determined we needed a new light switch for the dimmer portion of the light in the dining room and charged us an extra $65 for the light switch change (Home Depot cost $2.47) to ensure the fixture worked. I was a bit flustered to get that high a charge for a simple switch fix on top of the $360 charge but paid it because otherwise it would not have worked. The person was professional, cleaned up after themselves and finished very quickly. read more

Maurice came to our house immediately after I had called and received a fair quote to install a light fixture in a small bathroom. That was the fastest response I ever got from a company. The previous light fixture needed to be taken down but oh surprise, it had been glued on the mirror! Maurice did a remarkable job of taking the old light fixture down without breaking the mirror which could have happened, he cleaned everything remarkably well after he was done. At the last minute we asked him to tighten 2 light fixtures on a mirror too in the main bathroom and he did it so well for a little extra money. Maurice was very friendly, professional and courteous. Simple Electric is SIMPLY EXPENSIVE... Review is on the estimate of work only... No work done... Made an appointment with Simple Electric to bid on a very very simple job of adding a light switch and 2 duplex outlets in series on the same wall a few feet apart in my garage. The dispatch operator took all my information including my description of the work, materials reuired, and pictures of the job site and set me up for an appointment for the quote "AND" possibly do the job. So I took off from work which costs me money for this technician to arrive and stood in my garage for 2 minutes with 5 seconds staring at the wall before rattling off a quote of over $700. He had no intention to do any work so don't let what the dispatch operator allow you to think they are coming out to do both. I thanked him even after he lowered it to $600. But I called someone else just as reputable or more who did the job for a bit over $300 which is competitive with at least 2 other companies I spoke with and was reasonable for the complexity of the job. Contractors are good at saying "Time Is Money" for them but it works both ways. With zero time spent really looking what may or may not be in the wall or attic above, this estimate could have been done as effectively via email and a few pictures of the wall exterior. So tack on my loss of income for this estimate and then multiply x2 should they com back and do the work. Reading other reviews, over-charging is rather common with Simple Electric. read more
