It's beautiful and charming in a way that photos barely capture, but that's just the start of it. Lele, the venue owner was a joy to work with. We could tell how much love and care she puts into the space and that working with her would be the opposite of the cookie cutter, corporate experience we've experienced at other popular venues. She provided a thorough tour of the space, a really helpful preferred vendors list, and other wonderful tips and tricks. All the preferred vendors were top tier, and it ended up saving us a ton of time and we were guaranteed a high quality end to end experience. Other key benefits of Ru's: 1. The venue is available the entire wedding day which provides a lot of flexibility 2. There is a beautiful, 3-bedroom cottage on the properties that was perfect for getting ready 3. Unlike vineyards, this property has all the perks of a vineyard (oversees a vineyard) but also allows all types of alcohol (not just beer and wine) 4. The design of the space and the transition between different phases of the day (ceremony, reception, dancing, etc) was seamless This venue is a rare treasure, I would certainly suggest snatching a date before they are all gone.

I shared this with the woman who was our guide for the tour because I figured that would let her know how to interact with me as I'm trying this new thing. However, the guide was not helpful or empathetic in literally any way and when I was nervous because the horse was not following my direction (after confirming I was doing it right) she just told me "yeah they don't listen in the arena"...okay, well if the horse can't follow my direction in the arena how am I supposed to feel safe to take him on a two hour cliffside ride? Absolutely not. I ended up having a panic attack after many more attempts to direct him with no success. At that point I decided not to go on the ride because I know horses are incredibly emotionally intelligent and I did not know how my stress would impact him. In addition to not feeling safe and not feeling like my guide knew how to handle that situation. After talking to the woman who was working that day I requested a full or partial refund if possible and the owner called me and was wildly condescending. She made sure to drill it in that this experience was my fault and everyone else does just fine! So even though I knew that wasn't accurate, I let it go because the refund wasn't that important to me. Yesterday I went on another attempt to ride a horse and again I was scared. I told the guide that I've never done this and I was nervous and she was incredibly helpful and made sure I was comfortable with the horse before we left the arena even though we were on a public group ride. Something that this ranch's staff couldn't manage on a private two hour ride. So for me, the service was an easy 0. However, the location was beautiful and the lunch was decent. Wine was not for me and the gal working couldn't tell me a single thing about any of the wines. Edit: After reading the atrocious response from the business I've decided this place couldn't possibly deserve a two star rating. I wish zero stars and a PSA was an option! I would like to clarify that the ignorance from the business owners is shown clearly in that they are pretending I had ruined an experience for a group of "all other riders" when the entire group was my girlfriend (who had no problem "sitting through it") and I. I also felt I stated clearly in my review that the refund was not a major concern of mine. I don't need the money, I just don't appreciate the way these people treat customers that don't have a stellar experience. Truly disgusting. Your horse did not listen, your horse absolutely did not stay still in the arena, and your guide assured me I was following instructions and navigating just as she showed me. Your guide also stated that horses don't listen until they're on the trail (which is a ridiculous statement and shoes that you do not have control of them. But again, no shade to the horses. They're beautiful and they're animals and I respect them far more than any of the staff at this point) Additionally, the wine was awful and your staff doesn't even know how to describe or recommend a single wine on the shelf. Thank you for further affirming my negative experience and showing even more unprofessional behavior! After reading other reviews and their responses to anyone who didn't leave 4/5 stars...I'm not surprised at the awful customer service!

We chose to rent out The Meadow space near the river to have an outdoor ceremony and had an indoor reception. First off, MRCC is good for those on a budget. The hall has big glass doors that can open out onto the outdoor area, giving the room a more spacious feel. We had around 70 guests and we could have fit many more. We loved the tall ceiling and wooden beams. The kitchen area was also spacious and manageable. I very much appreciate how much flexibility the center provided us. It helped give us freedom for creativity. Many other spaces we researched allowed only beer and wine, and made you choose from a limited selection of caterers (many, if not all, were outside of our budget). We could choose any caterer we wanted, and provided our own alcohol. Jean was a treat to work with. She was funny, kind, communicative, reliable, and prompt. Whenever I had a question she responded within a few days. She met us numerous times at the center and answered all the questions I had (many times I asked the same one twice, thank you for your patience). She was very warm and made the planning process more enjoyable. As for the meth head from the previous review (from 2013) I did not run into him. I don't think he lives there anymore. I did not have any problems with non-guests. Thank you for helping us have the wedding we've always wanted!

The bed was so luxurious and ridiculously comfortable that it made it really hard to get out of bed and face the day (side note: they are clearly brand-new beds and incorrectly spoken about on that negative review, so take that one with a grain of salt, SMH); Some had deep jetted tubs, some had ADA walk-in showers, something to accommodate everyone's needs! Each bathroom even had extra amenities you wouldn't expect like make-up remover and cotton balls - such a nice touch! One thing I was worried about was the traffic noise at night, but it was not an issue at all, which just shows that the insulation renovations that were completed really were impeccable and every last comfort was thought of for their guests. Access to the kitchen and laundry facilities was also a huge plus as well for last minute weather needs! I highly recommend this gem in Sonoma County when you book your next wine country adventure! =)

We had our wedding here in September of 2016 and the Simi team with Liat, the wedding planner on site, were utterly magical. The location was stunning with the surrounding redwoods, bricked courtyard, and soft lights overhead and my experience and wedding couldn't have been perfect without Liat. My only regret was that I couldn't thank her and hug her once more for doing such an amazing job. I didn't have to stress about my wedding set up in the slightest and that meant so much. She decorated and set up everything in a way that showed how truly skillful and attentive she is, and I still tell everyone how impressed I am to this day about it. If you're in need of a wedding planner and location, I couldn't recommend them more. read more

Should be "seamy", not Simi. Had a terrible experience while there on vacation 2 weeks ago. Did a tasting and I asked for a "side by side" comparison so I could decide which of 2 wines I would decide to purchase. After deciding, the woman behind the bar, charged me for 2 extra pours at $2.50 apiece (each pour was probably a half-ounce), even though I was purchasing a bottle of wine. I told her that in my 12 years of wine tasting in CA. no one at a tasting room has ever charged me for a side by side. She said that was their policy there and so I decided not to purchase any wine there. read more

It has a friendly, family atmosphere that makes you feel so welcomed each time you visit. From relaxing in on the patio on a warm day to chilling in the main hall, it's definitely worth a visit. We actually got engaged at Marimar Estate and the team was so incredible in helping my fiance make it happen. We even flew a bottle of 2023 Godello (the year we got engaged) with us to Hawaii so we could drink that during our wedding toasts.

But what really made the experience unforgettable was our host, Evan. If you could earn a PhD in the history of wine and winemaking, Evan has it, and he had a very captivated audience in the two of us. He took us on a fascinating journey through the history of wine, not just at Copain or in the region, but around the world. My son was completely into it, and so was I. It was the kind of experience where you walk away knowing a lot more than you did when you walked in. And then, halfway through our tasting, Evan took things to another level. He brought us on a mini-tour of the facility, where we got to see the equipment and learn about the actual winemaking process. He even asked us to bring one of our tasting glasses along and treated us to a tasting straight from the barrel! We called the Robert Young estate and were able to seat us for a tasting! When we arrived the hostess gave us a splash of their sauvignon blanc and sat us right away. The list of tastings they had were pretty good; I believe it was a chardonnay, merlot, and 2 cabernet sauvignon. Tyler was a great host! He gave us a little history with the estate, and answered all of our questions (we're still new to wine). Although we came a little later, we did not feel rushed at all. The estate looks really nice overlooking the valley. I definitely recommend giving a visit to this Winery if you're in Sonoma!

First time as a plus one! This place only accepts reservations from members only. We came for wine…read moretasting right when it opened and our host welcomed us as we walked towards the entrance. We had about 6 tastings and the tasting felt very intimate. We also got a tour at the end of the tasting and learned about the history of the winery. Highly recommend it if you are a big Pinot fan or if you're not a big red wine drinker like me!
