Amazing place for wine tasting. Beautiful back patio. We came with a small group the sommelier was amazing. He offered a taste experience with different types of wine glasses. Interesting experience. Very nice people there. The wine was fantastic and so was the charcuterie all the cheeses and preserves were off the chain especially the rhubarb on the far left...amazing. Oh and they bring out a special popcorn which is to die for. It's seasoned with smoked fennel and it just paired so well with the tasting. Amazing place can't wait to come back again

This tasting room was perfect for our large group. I recommend making reservations. Our host, Ursula, was just lovely! She is exceptionally knowledgeable with the local wines and area. She was a delight! Cheers!

Tasting: $5 (Any 4 wines); $14 Reserve Tasting (6 wines) * Applied back toward bottle purchase. * Prices as of July 2007 Famous for: Cabernet Sauvignon Worth another visit? Yes. Located just a few blocks north of downtown Healdsburg, the building, surrounded by trees, is nice, but not as scenic as other Sonoma wineries. Although they do have picnic area, I would picnic at other wineries. On the weekends, the greeter, who welcomes you at the door, could speak Japanese! As for their wine, I consider Simi's 2004 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($27) to be a nice cheaper alternative to Silver Oak's 2002 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($60). Silver Oak felt more complex, but Simi was pretty good too. PRICE: I believe Simi's reserves are not sold outside of their winery, but their regular Cab is sold at Costco and Trader Joe's. I've bought one at TJ's for $20. Visa Signature band card will get you complimentary tasting.

My husband and I had a great tasting at Simi Winery. Nadine was our tasting guide and she was knowledgeable, kind, and not pushy. The fact that she never once pressured us to become wine club members is one of the main reasons we decided to sign up for the membership. She walked us through each wine, let us take our time, and shared with us some of her favorite local spots/recommendations. It was a great experience and we purchased their sparkling wine, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. If we ever come back to the area, we'd love to bring our friends and family to Simi to experience a non-pretentious, accessible tasting experience. Your tasting fee is waved if you buy a few bottles, but even if you don't buy bottles I think the tasting was around $20 bucks (on the low end) so it's definitely a must try!

Beautiful Oasis just north of Healdsburg.

We swung by Simi on a recent local's night and had a great time. The event was free and their wines were half-price. They had a jazz combo and some great fish chowder. We sat outside under the redwoods, sipped our Chard and hung out with other Sonomans (I think that's what we would be called). The winery is beautiful with a nice fountain, great trees and gardens. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Reasonable wine tasting @ SIMI $10 for Five kind of wine tasting or $3 for individuals tasting. We purchased Petit Sirah that only available at the winery.

    Wow, great wines? Great tour

Used Groupon for reservations, four of us on a private tour. WOW, best ever tour and wine was excellent. I may do again and take another couple.

This place is great! A pleasant change of pace from some of the wineries you might visit. Heavily wooded with a fountain and shade, this is a great place to visit in the middle of the day if it's hot outside. The wine was great but the food and service was even better, with lots of safety measures in place for Covid. These guys are clearly working hard to ensure a safe environment for their guests. I think if there was one thing I'd wish was different was their use of bottled water. Instead of filtered tap water, they provide plastic water bottles. They even poured out bottled water for a dog! In a time when plastic use is so rampant and damaging for the environment, I wish they'd switch to using less plastic. But overall, a great experience.

The entire process was so easy from booking, communications, and vendor recommendations. We rented the Coop as well to get ready and it was such a perfect spot to be on the property but tucked away from the main grounds. Our guests continue to say how magical the wedding weekend was because of our venue! Guests walk through olive trees and into an open cocktail space with an abundance of flowers and fresh lavender. The ceremony site is under a beautiful large oak tree overlooking the Alexander Valley. The backdrop really sold me on why we had to get married at Ru's! Dinner was in front of the barn with twinkly lights. Then the dance party was in the barn where we also had lounge seating, and dessert! We had 140 guests which felt like just the right amount of people and the spaces all flowed nicely for it to feel like we could all be together the entire evening- without it feeling too large. We are still on such a high almost five months later and friends still tell us it was the best wedding of 2022! We cannot thank you LeLe and LJ for the best weekend!

It's beautiful and charming in a way that photos barely capture, but that's just the start of it. Lele, the venue owner was a joy to work with. We could tell how much love and care she puts into the space and that working with her would be the opposite of the cookie cutter, corporate experience we've experienced at other popular venues. She provided a thorough tour of the space, a really helpful preferred vendors list, and other wonderful tips and tricks. All the preferred vendors were top tier, and it ended up saving us a ton of time and we were guaranteed a high quality end to end experience. Other key benefits of Ru's: 1. The venue is available the entire wedding day which provides a lot of flexibility 2. There is a beautiful, 3-bedroom cottage on the properties that was perfect for getting ready 3. Unlike vineyards, this property has all the perks of a vineyard (oversees a vineyard) but also allows all types of alcohol (not just beer and wine) 4. The design of the space and the transition between different phases of the day (ceremony, reception, dancing, etc) was seamless This venue is a rare treasure, I would certainly suggest snatching a date before they are all gone.

We chose to rent out The Meadow space near the river to have an outdoor ceremony and had an indoor reception. First off, MRCC is good for those on a budget. The hall has big glass doors that can open out onto the outdoor area, giving the room a more spacious feel. We had around 70 guests and we could have fit many more. We loved the tall ceiling and wooden beams. The kitchen area was also spacious and manageable. I very much appreciate how much flexibility the center provided us. It helped give us freedom for creativity. Many other spaces we researched allowed only beer and wine, and made you choose from a limited selection of caterers (many, if not all, were outside of our budget). We could choose any caterer we wanted, and provided our own alcohol. Jean was a treat to work with. She was funny, kind, communicative, reliable, and prompt. Whenever I had a question she responded within a few days. She met us numerous times at the center and answered all the questions I had (many times I asked the same one twice, thank you for your patience). She was very warm and made the planning process more enjoyable. As for the meth head from the previous review (from 2013) I did not run into him. I don't think he lives there anymore. Each bathroom even had extra amenities you wouldn't expect like make-up remover and cotton balls - such a nice touch! For myself, I experienced the worst two nights of 'sleep' that I can remember because of the noise and a mattress that should have been discarded YEARS ago. The gas fireplace didn't work. Zero instructions on how to get it lit. YouTubed how to get it lit, still didn't work. The condiment on this shit sandwich of a stay was the veranda outside our room having a security camera pointed directly toward the outside furniture where you'd sit. Zero chance of having ANY privacy. Its creepy and total bullshit. We can tell the place is owned by people that could not care less about the comfort of the guests, you're just income for them. We were shown to our table and they offered us some time to walk the grounds, garden and view the lake. They said we could spend more time after lunch, viewing the rest of the property. The garden was beautiful. Lots of herbs and flowers, with labels. The restaurant itself was gorgeous. Wood. High ceilings. Nice decor. Our server seemed pretty new. He made a few errors throughout, but that did not significantly deter from our experience. It was really neat that the chef came out with every pairing and explained each course. We never felt rushed. There was plenty of wine. The food was exquisite. We ended up buying a few bottles of wine and even though I filled out the shipping information and told the server my preferred vendor was ups over FedEx because I have an account - he managed to bring our bottles of wine all bagged up, to our table. Yikes. We were curious about the pizza oven upon arrival. We saw it and hoped for pizza but they did not have that on the lunch pairing menu. So after we finished our scheduled lunch, it was pretty slow there, so we asked if we could stay and order more food. Our server brought the menu for us (after our third request) and we ordered a pizza and the fries which basically stated on the menu that they were the best fries you've ever had. Well, I can attest that they are not. Yes, they are shoestring fries for you lovers out there. But also, they're not a step too far from McDonald's. So that's all. Not the best of my life. Not life changing. Just like McDonald's. But the pizza was good. Unfortunately I had asked if it was red sauce and was given a yes answer. But you can see the pizza doesn't have any red sauce on it at all. I probably would've ordered a different one, if I was properly informed. Also, I asked for no balsamic glaze and of course it came with balsamic glaze. Yet another error. Whatever. I'm not sure what's up with people who swear by balsamic? Keep it off my bruschetta, it doesn't belong there. And don't put it on Brussels sprouts either. Yuck. Too much sugar and it's not necessary. On the pizza, it was fine, but not my preference. But it probably saved the pizza because there a was NO SAUCE. Anyhow- their little gift shop area is super cute and I perused the items. Also- they have a shelf of board games! How fun! It would be great to come by, get some light bites, a ton of wine, and play games and take a walk to enjoy the property. It's such a gorgeous place. I would recommend this place. The lunch and wine pairing was expensive, but the food was superior quality. The wine here is great. We did not become members but I can see why people do. Their Sauvignon blanc was one of my faves, so that was two of the bottles we purchased. Our order was eventually packaged and sent to us, via FedEx, not UPS, and was in good shape upon arrival.
