Randomly stopped in after a dinner in Healdsburg. We sat at the bar for a cocktail. The bartender was fabulous - I know most probably hate being asked what they recommended but he went above and beyond to figure out what I would like best. The bar area is intimate and great for interacting with people. The cocktails came out super cute and the bar area was playing Charlie Chapman on the wall which I thought was pretty cool. I will definitely stop by and try out other cocktails and their food soon! read more

Stopped in on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed their bar area. The bar tenders were very personable and the cocktails were absolutely stunning. Great attention to detail with the added flowers for presentation and the fresh fruit added really good flavor. It was busy but the noise level was low so could still enjoy conversations. On an earlier trip to Barn Diva toward the end of Covid, I sat outside and had a glorious meal with excellent staff recommendations. Visiting this year, I dined inside with a new menu. First, the decor is lovely and I took a leisurely tour around the space just to enjoy the art and design. The staff couldn't have been nicer, patiently answering our questions about the drinks and dishes. We started with the deviled eggs (topped with caviar - could have eaten a dozen!), the white bean hummus (so creamy), the goat cheese croquettes (another dozen of these, please). The Persian cucumber salad is light and just right, the crispy chicken was perfectly tender and satisfying, and I will be yearning for the potato leek soup until I return. My only less-than-a-rave would be about the bucatini pasta dish, only because it seems to need... something. The pasta itself is quite substantial, so I wanted a more powerful flavor atop, but I'm a carnivore, so what do I know about a vegetarian entree? Don't miss the tikka masala; one of our party had it and said it's delicious and not too spicy despite the pepper icon next to its name on the menu. Thought we made reservations for Barndiva tonight. Arrived there to find "Closed" posted over its sign. Somehow Barndiva Studio next door had our reservation for six people, so we tried outside with our two dogs. I should have asked more questions before sitting down: the event was an expensive, tedious disappointment. The gravel under the table was dirty. My dogs & shoes suffered. The prices in the limited menu were higher than I would expect for the Bay Area. We sat for 10 minutes or longer before a server appeared outside. At this point, we should have booked a table later elsewhere & simply left. We've eaten before at Barndiva & raved about the experience. Drinks when they arrived were appealing visually & thoughtfully concocted. The wine list offered some interesting choices. A server thoughtfully brought our dogs a water dish. Food was terrifically slow in arriving. Tasted fine enough (though the chicken was better over the wall at Lo & Behold this afternoon). I'm still trying to determine why the restaurant got so far under my skin. Not enough servers & a weird vibe imparted by the manager? The 20% service charge posted prominently & somewhat defensively in the menu stung. I'm happy to tip for service, but for the $609 I paid we will never return. read more

Have always had great food at the Barn Diva but this was the first at Studio Barn Diva. Ordered a flat iron steak cooked medium. The edges of the steak were cooked medium, and the center was practically raw. Additionally the steak was tuff and difficult to chew. Very disappointing. Won't be going back. read more

First time customer; I was in Cloverdale for the weekend and 4 of us went to Barndiva. The weather was perfect to eat outside. While the menu is limited, it's a sign that they know how to made each bite to perfection. We started by sharing the Onion Bhaji coriander & mint chutney and the Goat Cheese Croquettes, with goat cheese, dripping in honey and sprinkled with lavender, both of which were so delectable. I wanted to eat it all, without sharing, LOL. So yummy! Two friends shared the Shaved Fennel, Sorrel, & Citrus Salad, also very delicious. All of us decided on the the Gallery Burger fresh thyme, gruyère, caramelized onions & bordelaise, which I HIGHLY recommend, and is the absolute best burger I have ever have ever eaten. It's too bad that I live in SF, or I'd be going more often. Additionally, My friends ordered from their seasonal cocktail menu and good enough to ask for seconds. The service was perfect. read more

Oh the joys found in Healdsburg. Life offers many pleasures and this treasure of a noshing spot certainly satisfies a few of those pleasures. I love coming here for happy hour as their drinks are simple and classic (at least what I experience) and their well options are solid and beyond most places top shelf option. Price point isn't why you come here. This is a spot to drink cool drinks, taste delightful nibbles, and be a little more awesome than usual while you sit in the live work art gallery. Popcorn is the optional fare of choice available on the house. Anyone who knows me knows this is a huge winning point for me. I've tried their pome frittes (not standard style), frito misto asparagus, and goat cheese croquettes with lavender honey. The pome frittes were sliced waffle-type cut spuds that seem puffed and lightly fried and sprinkled with salt. Delicious and simple. The asparagus was ok but probably my least favorite of the fares tried. Nothing special about the dish compared to other places who do this. Crispy crust was flaky, messy, and not adhered well to the stalks. The croquettes were stunning rolled in the honey with the bite of goat cheese beautifully paired against the sweetness. My recommendation - dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. The staff is willing to take this extra step and it is worth the short wait for that added deliciousness. read more

Wife and I were in healdsburg for the night and was walking around the town when we ran in this place. At first we weren't sure, it seemed quiet from the front, but a young man hosting had a great personality and made us feel comfortable to go in, I am glad we did! They had an old movie about history of dance playing on the wall, my wife loves old movie. For dinner we had the filet Mignon with a verde sauce. It was picture perfect and very taste. It should be noted that the studio - which is actually connected to the main restaurant - also serves drinks and snacks. Healdsburg is a town that shuts down early but the studio is open on the later side. The bartender was incredibly accommodating of the people who continued to trickle in looking for that nightcap. There's a limited selection of drinks at the studio but the bartender bent over backwards to get people the drinks they wanted which included going over to the restaurant for the right ingredients. The bar part of the studio is small - a small number of tables and about five seats at the bar. They were showing old movies on the wall which reminded me of Foreign Cinema in SF... read more

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Barndiva / Studio Barndiva this August and felt compelled to open a Yelp account just to write this review. From the day we first visited Barndiva while looking at venues, everything was perfect. The space is absolutely beautiful - understated yet elegant, and the perfect picturesque Northern California setting. Our guests all commented on how incredible the setting was, with beautiful trees surrounding our ceremony, and amazing outdoor harvest tables for our reception, set under hanging foliage. I really cant overstate how pleased we were with the visual elements of the event, and how perfectly the staff at Barndiva staged our wedding. Tables, table clothes, silverware, bar etc were all part of the package, which also made our experience super easy to coordinate. No need for outside catering. Barndiva the restaurant is incredible, so we expected the food to be great. Once again they exceeded our expectations with amazing Caprese salad for appetizers (from their garden), and phenomenal entrees. Multiple guests, many of whom are foodies, commented that the filet mignon served at dinner was the best they ever had. And even those who opted for veggie meals commented on how beautiful and delicious their food was as well. We decided to also rent an ice cream cart from Noble Folk Ice Cream, an amazing local spot, and due to their existing relationship with Barndiva the whole process was seamless. Highly recommend Noble Folk - amazing ice cream and the nicest people working there. We decided to have the dancing portion of our event inside the Barndiva studio, which is spacious and the perfect spot for a band or DJ. The studio also has a nice long bar, so guests had no issue getting drinks, and multiple people were able to dance at once without any overcrowding. Finally and most importantly, my wife and I agreed that Natalie, Barndiva's event coordinator, was the biggest part of what made the event so seamless. From the day we met Natalie she was incredibly helpful, knowledgable and accommodating. Natalie always steered us in the right direction, and was honest with us about her recommendations leading up to the wedding, and on the wedding day itself. In every case her suggestions were on point, and her coordination on the day of our wedding was a huge difference maker. She even went the extra mile and helped us return some seat cushions we rented from an offsite vendor given we had to leave town directly after the reception. I could go on, but suffice to say, Banrdiva is very lucky to have someone like Natalie representing their brand, and we felt lucky to have her looking after our wedding. If you are considering having your wedding in wine country or the bay area, we HIGHLY recommend having your event at Barndiva. It is truly a special place, with special people working there. This is our go-to restaurant on any given weekend. Ryan, the GM, welcomes us warmly, and always finds us just the perfect table to fit our preferences. The martinis are delicious and plentiful. The wine list robust with Sonoma County wines, and the food is so good! The wait staff are eager to please, the ambiance is warm and comfortable, and the vintage film clips projected on the high wall are a hoot! And don't miss the cigarette card collection framed and hung on the South wall. Did I mention the patio area? Fantastic and beautiful! We came in on a Saturday night for dinner. We were super excited to have dinner here with our friends and really looking forward to the experience. We were seated outside and the restaurant was absolutely beautiful. It has a great ambience. We put in an order for some appetizers and were trying to decide on a wine and were brought a few samples to try. The food is really good. We had the fries, burrata, and fried goat cheese croquettes So sadly this review is mostly based on the absolutely horrible service we received. It's sad because this place could be a legit 5 star experience but the service was appalling. After he brought us our samples and the appetizers we never saw anyone again. We sat there for over 30 minutes and never got to order our entrees. He even came outside twice to check on the surrounding tables but completely avoided us. We were so upset that we ended up getting up and leaving. Which we have NEVER done! Needless to say we won't be back and our friends won't be back unless the service has a drastic turnaround. read more

Oh I so wanted to love this place. We have eaten next door at the Barndiva and service was just very mediocre. We decided to try a more intimate and personal experience at the Studio side but were very disappointed. I brought a group of friends here visiting from San Diego and I was nothing short of mortified at the level of service. We were here for an hour and didn't even receive our round of drinks. We watched the table next to us sit there for an hour and only get appetizers. We actually had to walk to the bar to close our tab and go to a restaurant down the street. In Healdsburg you need service and food to be 4-5 stars. Barndiva has the potential for 5 stars but is 1 star service. Our group said they won't last but I truly hope they find their niche and improve the service. Until they do we will be going elsewhere. read more

Oh my gosh, awesome space and great art. Betsy and I wanted to buy the framed cigarette cards. They have an amazing collection out. The owner has curated this amazingly large collection. It's part of the magical Barndiva experience we had... We stumbled across the bar/restaurant and had a drink the night before and then went into the gallery the next day. Impeccable taste and really nice art and some great furniture - I will go back to help decorate our next home when I have lots and lots of money. read more

We had our rehearsal dinner at Studio Barndiva for our October 2014 wedding, and it was fabulous! I can't think of a better way to have kicked off our weekend of celebration. I've eaten at Barndiva the restaurant a few different times. In general, I've found the food to be superb, although there have been a couple misses and inconsistencies (as some people note). They do not offer official tastings for rehearsal dinners, which was a little disappointing since ours was wedding-sized, and that makes it tough to choose the best options when you're spending a lot of money; but we were happy with the salmon and pork dishes we chose (especially the salmon - it was cooked perfectly for nearly 100 people, very impressive!). And the hors d'oeuvres were all excellent, as was the dessert bar. We chose two specialty cocktails from favorite spots in San Francisco, which the bartender did a great job making, and there was a good variety of wine & beer available too. The service was very good - my only wish was that they'd come around with wine more frequently, especially during the toasts, since we ran out and my husband had to shout "More toasting wine!" across the room. My dad put together a slide show, which they projected on a big screen using a laptop hookup. We also hooked up an iPad with a playlist we'd put together, although it was hard to hear over the buzz. If I were doing it again, I would have purchased the sound package too, since the room was larger than we'd realized and we had to shout during our welcome toast for everyone to hear us. Studio Barndiva is a super cool space with interesting artwork lining the walls and an amazing antler chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The garden out back is beautiful too, but since our wedding was in mid-to-late October, I didn't want to risk it getting too cold with an outdoor dinner. Having it inside was perfect (especially since we didn't have to worry about the rain that was forecast for that day!) and cozy, but at the same time spacious enough to comfortably fit nearly 100 guests for a sit-down dinner. I found the planning part a little difficult at times, since the team is very laid back and they got some important information wrong (e.g., I discovered that they had us down for the outdoor garden, even though we had booked the indoor studio from the start) or took a long time to respond. But they are all very nice and they certainly pulled through in the end, because our rehearsal dinner came out absolutely perfect! We supplied some autumn decorations and rented hurricane lanterns from them, and they set up the tables beautifully. We had a few people with different food allergies and the wait staff/kitchen did not bat an eye. The services and ambiance were spectacular.
