Loved the fresh poppies in the entrance!

The interior makes me think of anthropology- very California, very pretty. My food from the appetizers (we shared 4) to my meal and dessert was unique and packed with delicious flavor. I loved it and would definitely return. Perfect for dinner or just drinks and an appetizer.

    Goat cheese croquettes

On an earlier trip to Barn Diva toward the end of Covid, I sat outside and had a glorious meal with excellent staff recommendations. Visiting this year, I dined inside with a new menu. First, the decor is lovely and I took a leisurely tour around the space just to enjoy the art and design. The staff couldn't have been nicer, patiently answering our questions about the drinks and dishes. We started with the deviled eggs (topped with caviar - could have eaten a dozen!), the white bean hummus (so creamy), the goat cheese croquettes (another dozen of these, please). The Persian cucumber salad is light and just right, the crispy chicken was perfectly tender and satisfying, and I will be yearning for the potato leek soup until I return. My only less-than-a-rave would be about the bucatini pasta dish, only because it seems to need... something. The pasta itself is quite substantial, so I wanted a more powerful flavor atop, but I'm a carnivore, so what do I know about a vegetarian entree? Don't miss the tikka masala; one of our party had it and said it's delicious and not too spicy despite the pepper icon next to its name on the menu. We split the Paris-Brest, which was an elegant dessert and just right. Looking forward to going back.

Killer Cosmo, dirty gin martini, frito-misti asparagus, goat cheese croquettes with lavender and honey.

Oh the joys found in Healdsburg. Life offers many pleasures and this treasure of a noshing spot certainly satisfies a few of those pleasures. I love coming here for happy hour as their drinks are simple and classic (at least what I experience) and their well options are solid and beyond most places top shelf option. Price point isn't why you come here. This is a spot to drink cool drinks, taste delightful nibbles, and be a little more awesome than usual while you sit in the live work art gallery. Popcorn is the optional fare of choice available on the house. Anyone who knows me knows this is a huge winning point for me. I've tried their pome frittes (not standard style), frito misto asparagus, and goat cheese croquettes with lavender honey. The pome frittes were sliced waffle-type cut spuds that seem puffed and lightly fried and sprinkled with salt. Delicious and simple. The asparagus was ok but probably my least favorite of the fares tried. Nothing special about the dish compared to other places who do this. Crispy crust was flaky, messy, and not adhered well to the stalks. The croquettes were stunning rolled in the honey with the bite of goat cheese beautifully paired against the sweetness. My recommendation - dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. The staff is willing to take this extra step and it is worth the short wait for that added deliciousness.

The entire process was so easy from booking, communications, and vendor recommendations. We rented the Coop as well to get ready and it was such a perfect spot to be on the property but tucked away from the main grounds. Our guests continue to say how magical the wedding weekend was because of our venue! Guests walk through olive trees and into an open cocktail space with an abundance of flowers and fresh lavender. The ceremony site is under a beautiful large oak tree overlooking the Alexander Valley. The backdrop really sold me on why we had to get married at Ru's! Dinner was in front of the barn with twinkly lights. Then the dance party was in the barn where we also had lounge seating, and dessert! We had 140 guests which felt like just the right amount of people and the spaces all flowed nicely for it to feel like we could all be together the entire evening- without it feeling too large. We are still on such a high almost five months later and friends still tell us it was the best wedding of 2022! We cannot thank you LeLe and LJ for the best weekend!

It's beautiful and charming in a way that photos barely capture, but that's just the start of it. Lele, the venue owner was a joy to work with. We could tell how much love and care she puts into the space and that working with her would be the opposite of the cookie cutter, corporate experience we've experienced at other popular venues. She provided a thorough tour of the space, a really helpful preferred vendors list, and other wonderful tips and tricks. All the preferred vendors were top tier, and it ended up saving us a ton of time and we were guaranteed a high quality end to end experience. Other key benefits of Ru's: 1. The venue is available the entire wedding day which provides a lot of flexibility 2. There is a beautiful, 3-bedroom cottage on the properties that was perfect for getting ready 3. Unlike vineyards, this property has all the perks of a vineyard (oversees a vineyard) but also allows all types of alcohol (not just beer and wine) 4. The design of the space and the transition between different phases of the day (ceremony, reception, dancing, etc) was seamless This venue is a rare treasure, I would certainly suggest snatching a date before they are all gone.

It spoke to us right away and during our tour it just kept getting better and better. The property is amazing and the building is rich with history and just as gorgeous. We were obsessed with the wrap around bar. That was the second huge selling point. Everyone we worked with was absolutely incredible. We were passed through a few different hands but every hand off was seamless and our information was always relayed with ease. We could not have had a more perfect day. Jaimie was incredible for keeping me in line when I was getting ahead of things and was quick to reassure me of any of my concerns. She was always available and ready for anything that came her way. Our wedding day was magical. It could not have gone any better. The building had a fresh coat of paint. The garden was in full bloom. First, their music venue offering is quite good,…read morebeverage service in more than one area, usually food and ice cream, vendors varying event to event, live music, dancing, roping, cornhole. After going to the music venue for a summer, our son decided to get married there, and at first everything went smoothly, the owner we dealt with was Nikki and she was quite a good communicator, friendly and engaging, business like, although became a brusque and a bit snippy as the wedding grew closer. Our wedding planner sheltered us from most of it but said "this is how she talked to me the entire time". Not quite what we expected when you are throwing $10K + their way for a 5 hour time slot. Note: The bride bought her wedding dress from The Ranch during a wedding dress expo they put on. We invested in these people!!!! The 1-star is because when the wedding was complete and we were cleaning up, it was discovered we had danced on some rose petals in one section of the concrete in the barn, there was some staining from the red petals which we offered to clean up. At this point we were dealing with the husband, not Nikki. He didn't allow us to try to clean, as he was worried the cleaning might harm the sealer. He said it was sealed once a year, but in a manner that wasn't visible, nor an actual vapor barrier to the concrete as it can't be slippery when wet for safety. He said they had the concrete mottled with a brownish color and didn't want to possibly harm that with our cleaning. We were going to use water and Dawn dish soap as a start, mixing with some rubbing alcohol if needed, this is safe for concrete and grout. You can view previous pictures from others with time stamps, my pictures are time stamped 6/27/26 and you can "maybe" see what they are talking about, you can also see the concrete is far from perfect, many marks, cracks and stains. So, while we offered to clean it that night, or the next morning, we were refused. My son had taken out a $1MILLION insurance policy for this 5 hour event, and The Ranch has kept our $250 safety/cleaning deposit and filed a claim with the insurance, which is a $1000 deductible to us + the $200 for the policy. We also have email from Nikki exclaiming surprise that we are "coming at them this way". (Offering the insurance policy???) We tried to clean, were denied, and offered the insurance as well, what more could we do...but more importantly folks, this is a horse ranch! They didn't even clean up all the poop in the yard where we could walk! But our rose petals were the breaking point? It is noteworthy that there is NO clause in their contract denying rose petals. This is a wedding, so it's quite common for a flower girl to toss petals in the aisle. They are claiming that this concrete is special, was treated to simulate the look of leather because they are a horse ranch, and our rose petals have stained the concrete ruining the vibe for their music events and future weddings. (We have been to music events where they have had large carpets covering the entire seating area, with chairs on top, effectively hiding this concrete and the leather vibe they claim to want to portray. The staining was so very minor that we are worried the insurance will deny the claim and come after our son personally. Think about this for a minute - wedding, roses, minor staining that they have probably already cleaned up, it's a ranch where horses walk and do their thing, and they are making a really really large deal about this. I think this speaks to their character and just want anyone else looking to have their event here, to consider our experience. For us, we will not be attending another music event, we will share our experience with all that we know, and I hope that somehow the owners learn from this, and relax their stance and attitude a little, and realize that folks don't go to a horse ranch or a music venue to inspect the concrete. If this wasn't so serious for us, it would quite a laughable manner. Thank you if you have read this far. IMPORTANT: If the owners read this review and contact us to drop this frivolous claim, I will remove, or edit this review to 5-stars, because other then the "staining and complaining" this was a 5+ star experience for the rest of us!!!
