The museum was great and bigger then I had expected. The gift shop was awesome too! It was nice to see brands such as NTVS, the old Native Threads before Amy and her sister took over, also seeing the hand made jewelry from California Natives. I did recognize the jewelry even without the labels. It was a bummer that this museum is not apart of the museum for all when my husband asked. Someone should look into that and the museum be removed from the list.

There are two main galleries with a quarter mile walk in between, with wonderful views looking out into the lake, families of geese captivating visitors, and lovely artwork along the paved path including a giant gong in the beginning representing the division of war and peace (there's also an option to take a shuttle if you prefer not to walk). Gallery 2 was remarkable starting with the indoor Incorrect Museum exhibition. I can only describe the pieces as weird, comical, unpredictable, and quite intriguing. Some interesting artworks include the Rhino car (covered with random items and made up of two front ends of different cars, plus a rhino head, and actually drivable), the Memory Garden (made up of 4,000 glass bottles, wood, and stone), and the Totem di Rosa, which you can step inside (I even found a bunny in there, lol). Outside, there is a sculpture garden and courtyard with numerous art pieces spaced out really well. Thus, prepare to walk as you explore the various sculptures, including a steel flying dragon, a pile of boats, cute sheep set up on a hill to look real, a quirky looking giant harp, and a very tall chair. There are also picnic tables for guests, in a shady area covered by trees, and picturesque gardens and pathways to stroll through before making your way back to Gallery 1, the gift shop, and parking lot. I had a wonderful time here this past weekend, it was so much more than I expected, and I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some interesting art or even if you're just into peaceful and scenic outdoor environments.

This museum is the personal collection of Rene & Veronica di Rosa. The Good: *Temporary exhibits rotate approximately every four months. *Complimentary umbrellas (more on that later) *A good portion of the exhibits are outdoors along their gorgeous property. *Shuttle if you don't want to or need assistance walking from building to building. *You really have to like weird shit because this place is full of it. Personally, I love it, but if you're more "serious" art person, then this probably won't be your jam. *Picnic tables on the grounds, as you're encouraged to bring food and drink to enjoy in their outdoor area. *Friendly staff The Meh: *General admission of $25 might be a touch high for an art museum. The Ugly: *Be wary when visiting during inclement weather,as there's a large part of this museum that's outdoors. So you'll probably miss out on some of it, but the free umbrellas (mentioned above) did come in handy. Conclusion: Fun art museum with some really cool pieces and doesn't take itself too seriously.

The grounds were absolutely stunning and the flowers were in full bloom, and the combination of the lush outdoor ceremony space and the elegant indoor cocktail area made everything feel magical and perfectly balanced. One of our favorite touches was the grand piano, which a Paella Time (catering vendor) played during our first look, it was such a unique and emotional moment. The venue itself is a gorgeous, historic Victorian house with incredible charm. We took some of our favorite photos in front of the stained glass windows, which added so much character and warmth. My wife especially loved the bridal suite, where she shared sweet first-look moments and photos with her mom and bridesmaids. It felt intimate, relaxed, and timeless. As San Rafael locals, we were so impressed by how affordable the venue was for everything it offered. Working with Patty and the entire Falkirk team was effortless--they were kind, flexible, and truly accommodating every step of the way. We feel so lucky they had our date available. My toddler was running around the kid section and being a little loud and no one said anything they just allowed us to play and enjoy the space. This review is for FRIENDS OF VACAVILLE LIBRARY (FOVL) operating the WORDS OF WONDER (WOW)…read moreBOOKSTORE located inside this Vacaville Cultural Center Library. The WOW bookstore is open several days per week. It sells donated, used books, CDs, etc., and it is staffed by volunteers. I signed up to volunteer, and was really excited to learn more about donating time to the Book Store and its Board of Directors, as discussed with Volunteer Coordinator Michelle. However my experience when attending the group orientation onsite was met with prejudice and discrimination by Director Cathy. When I arrived for orientation the library staff at the Information Desk directed me to the bookstore located inside and to the right. However the bookstore door was locked. I could see the lights were on and someone was inside so I tapped lightly on the door. Cathy unlocked the door slightly, and looked at me sternly. We were face to face - less than 1 foot apart. I introduced myself, advised I was referred by Michelle, and was there for Volunteer Orientation. Another new volunteer walked up behind me, and said she "was here for the same thing." This volunteer remained about 2 feet behind me. Cathy smiled at her, opened the door wider, reached around and behind me, and shook the other volunteer's hand. Then while looking solely at the other volunteer Cathy told us where to find Michelle and the others (at a table 100 feet away). It was obvious Cathy didn't want to acknowledge, touch or speak with me. The other volunteer was not a woman of color. I am. And since I was clean, well groomed, and well dressed, I can only assume Cathy's indifference and lack of respect was because of a prejudice against women of color. At the very least she didn't feel I deserved the same basic courtesies she extended to the new volunteer standing behind me. Her actions said she didn't value me or my contributions. Shocked by Cathy's overt act of racism I managed to move towards and even participate in the orientation. Alhough I couldn't stop thinking about the way I had been treated. I did tour the bookstore briefly after the group session, at Michelle's urgence. She was excited that I had experience working on and with Boards, and wanted me to meet Cathy. I try to look for the good in people so I decided to give Cathy another chance. However after Michelle introduced us Cathy still didn't give me the greeting she had given my counterpart earlier. No hand shake, no greeting, no smile - just demanded, "tell me (her) about your work history" - with a snarl and superior demeanor. I stopped her interrogation-type inquiry and extended my hand stating I would like to "formally introduce myself." She shook it reluctantly. Still no pleasantries. There was no mistaking that she was speaking with me because Michelle told her someone was interested in volunteering in the bookstore and on the Board of Directors but when she saw it was me she couldn't hide her prejudice, again. I left there knowing I could not volunteer my time or services to an organization whose director looked down upon people and treated them differently because of the color of their skin. I provided feedback to Michelle, and reminded her we are a diverse nation, and expertise and contributions come in all colors. And told her that based on my experience I could not and would not be donating my time or services to FOVL WOW. As long as the Cathy's are in charge here African American or others of color won't be treated with the same dignity and respect. So that's a big no for me.
